The accell ipod audio cable made sharing my audio book library a breeze on a recent trip with my sister and nephew in her new Chrysler van. We just plugged the audio cable into her ports and my Ipod and we got to listen to books for the whole trip. It saved having to try to turn my collection into cds to play in the vans cd player. We loved the sound quality the cables gave us vs trying to play over an fm station.

So, I priced out several amps, and for me, this one was head and shoulders above the competition.

I needed a dual input, because the guitar I am playing is a hybrid bass/guitar (low 3 bass strings/high 4 guitar strings) much like the one Charlie Hunter plays.

The only thing that is slightly confusing, is that it is a dual channel (2 inputs, so can play guitar and bass through it at once, or guitar and a microphone etc...) but there are 2 inputs for either channel, a low/high, and the 2 page instruction manual doesn't fully explain the differences of running an instrument through them (and my bass side actually sounds marginally better through the 'high' not the low)

It is surprisingly light for it's size, which I think is prolly why it is soo inexpensive. But for me, this is a totally fine, and quite loud, practice amp. The only slight complaint I have is that the bass could sound fuller. I also have no need for the distortion/reverb that is offered on the dials, but don't think that they are too quality either.

If you want something pro-quality, this is not the item, however if you just want to get loud, and need a dual channel, this was the best one that I saw for the price, and it 100% fulfills my needs. Please feel free to check out my music, and get in touch if you have any followup!! OOH Yea! It also arrived in like 24 hours, and I selected free/regular shipping!! Amazing :)

who ever wrote the review about the amps distortion oviously cannot play. the amps out put is 80 watts but can be increased to 160 watts with an effects pedal. it needs a marshall footswitch to switch between channels and sounds best with a bc rich mockingbird or a jaxville special/custom series 2. it is a great buy and its the best amp for its price/size

Dont get me wrong. This is a relatively cheap and good amp for playing Jazz or clean sounds. You wont get a better price for an amplifier this loud.

Do not attempt to use this for Distortion. You will not get that warm Marshall/Fender/Mesa Boogie sound from this amp even if you use a good floor board with it.

If you're a student learning how to play jazz/country/anything without distortion, this is a good investment.

Otherwise, dont buy it.

I purchased this amp after searching for a used Radio shack mps-50 guitar amplifier which I had used in the past. After finding the pyramid GA610 on amazon I noticed the resemblance to the radio shack mps-50 I used to own. After looking at it on amazon I realized it is basically the same amp different Name, manufacturer. The differences I have noticed after buying it are chrome knobs, different faceplate and metal grill on the front of the amp. Everything else looks the same as the radio shack mps-50 made by radio shack years ago. I purchased this amp because of the dual channel , I can play guitar on 1 channel and plug in a unidirectional microphone on the 2nd channel. I plan on using this amp for small gigs. This amp I believe is more in the 60 watt range like the radio shack model. I don't know how they come up with 600 watt as advertised. This amplifier is plenty loud for a large room. overall I am happy with this amp after trying it out it fits my current needs. If you want 1 amplifier the dual channel is a plus for vocal and guitar for small gigs.

For a less expensive amp it does the job very well and I would recommend it for the beginner artist.

In the end, the Zoom H4n portable recorder, and kit of accessories, is everything I hoped for in a high quality handheld recorder except for the Transcend 16 GB Class 6 SDHC card included in the kit. My first 8-10 recordings sounded muffled, a bit distorted, and there seemed to be occasional and intermittent drop-outs. These were all done using both the built-in microphones and external mics, with the recorder set at the highest sample rate for recording. I had read great reviews about the H4n before buying it, and so I was perplexed. I tried different sample rates, but the playback was about the same regardless. So I considered what might cause such poor results. No matter what settings I used, or what I tried, results were always the same. So I considered for awhile what else, short of some internal problem with the recorder, might cause this.

The recorder comes from the factory with a 1 GB Class 6 memory card, and the kit of accessories included a Transcend 16 GB class 6 card. I began to wonder whether the poor sound quality of the recordings might be due to a problem with memory. So I began looking at SDHC specs and decided to try a Class 10 SDHC. I shopped around and found a SanDisk Extreme 16GB Class 10 (30mb/sec) card. I ordered it and installed it as soon as it arrived. The first recording after installing the SanDisk card was perfect. The sound wasn't muffled, there were no dropouts or artifacts, just crystal clear vocals, guitar, bass, etc.

Does the H4n need Class 10 memory? I don't know. Are all memory manufacturers equal? I don't know that either. All I know is that the Transcend 16 GB Class 6 card included by Nextweb Sales in the kit did not produce quality recordings, and when replaced with the SanDisk card the recorder produced great sounding results. What I think there is to gain from my experience is that if you purchase an H4n, and it doesn't produce the sound quality you expect, consider upgrading the memory to a better class. It worked for me.

The H4n:

Pros-simple to learn, well thought-out design, fairly rugged-feeling, very good sound quality, lots of nice-to-have features.

Cons-lots of handling noise, takes forever to start up, typical Japanese "stereo instructions" manual (written by someone with not quite a full grasp of Engrish), eats batteries. I have no idea how anybody could get 6 hours use out of a set of batteries.

This kit:

Pros-the hard shell case is awesome. It's worth the up-charge by itself. Headphones are pretty good backups.

Cons-this spindly little cheapo tripod is totally unusable. You can buy one just like it at the dollar store. Why anybody would spend $300 on the recorder and then trust this tripod to hold it has all the elements of a joke.

Horrible Experience as of right now. I ordered this bundle in hopes to use it for a project i have coming up. It was delivered on time and in fine packaging (box inside a box with a few pieces of shipping paper surrounding interior box). Items looked great but upon inspection they were not what i ordered. Instead of the Samson CH700 headphones i received their low end model the samson hp10. Instead of the transcend 16gb memory card i reveived a generic amazon memory card. the tripod was also not the same as pictured. They sent a really flimsy tripod that im sure could tip over with the slightest breeze while holding your $300 purchase. These items came different than the description of the bundle. I feel cheated. To make matters worst, there is no direct contact to the buisness so all i can do is return it to amazon and order a new one in hopes of getting the right order... Amazon im pretty disappointed you guys dont have contact information for your vendors. This could easily be fixed through them but instead i have to mail everything back, get a refund and then reorder the product. This may have just been an unfortunate mistake so I will give this company one more chance to get it right because this is a good bundle. I hope im not making a mistake. I wont be able to use it for my project coming up which is the most unfortunate part of all this.

If you are going to use this recorder out in the field, I highly recommend this kit. Having the case that is made to carry most everything all in one safe convenient place is great. The padding and everything in the case is fit perfectly. Gets a little tight when you try to put everything the recorder comes with plus everything in the kit but it works. All except for the headphones.

This recorder does way more than I thought it did and way more than I'll probably ever know how to do. Although, it still have less features as come of the competitors, I don't think that is a bad thing. I have been out on a job with other crews that are using the Sony recorder that is more expensive and has more options, but they can't figure out how to get it up and running on the spot easily. This thing is very easy to use and sounds amazing!

I do a lot of commercial video work and for most of it audio is not needed, but a few more jobs have been coming up that it is needed. I ran lav mics into this just to record audio separate from video with my Canon 5D setup. I can mount it right on my redrock rig and it works great. The remote control comes with an extension cable and I thought I would never use the remote. Boy was I wrong. When I use the condenser mics built into the front of the recorder, I want it as close to the subject as possible and being able to stay back behind my camera and control the start/stop recording, monitor volume, and recording level is great! You will probably use this remote.

If you do anything outdoors I highly recommend a better wind sock. The one that comes with it cuts down moderately on the wind but I highly recommend an upgrade to something like a dead kitten.

I bought this for work but I am a musician and have loved the fact that I can sit down with an acoustic guitar and have my own little recording studio!

Want Zoom H4n Handy Recorder Bundle with 16GB SDHC Card, RC-4 Remote, Headphones, Mini Tripod, and Hard Discount?

I am radio talk show host who covers the State House and spot journalism. This recorder is the best I have used yet. I don't see too many of them in my business, but everyone I work with is impressed with it.

Before purchasing this product, I did extensive research on it, even listening to audio samples comparing it with other recorders. The microphones on the unit are as good, if not better than most microphones that are used in the field. In fact, in learning how to use this product, I confused the microphone with my Electrovoice mic in my sound tests. When I used the setting in the field, the people were off mic, but because there is no hiss or other background noise on the built in mics, nobody could tell.

Before I purchased this, often times, I had to rush back from the State House to the studio to dub in audio through the board into the computer to edit it. Because the Zoom H4N acts as the card reader, I plug into the USB port on my production computer and load the audio in seconds. This allows me more time to stay on scene and work more efficiently back in the studio.

There is a huge learning curve on this unit. The instruction manual is very detailed and can make your head spin. There is some learning by trial and error. But it offers amazing flexibility.wav or .mp3 recording, multitrack recording, mutliple sound sources, ability to monitor audio recording, you can adjust record input levels, mark tracks, edit on the fly and so much more. This unit has more features than I will need I'm sure. But it allows me greater flexibility in the field, the sound quality is much better and I know that recording committee hearings with multiple microphones will be easy with the Zoom H4N.

This unit may not be ideal for beginners or someone who has no technical experience.

This package was a great value. If you price everything individually, you will spend a lot more. With this package, you get everything you need and the case is really awesome. The mini tripod has come in handy, haven't used the remote control, the windscreen is good and the extra memory card is a necessity. You'll receive many compliments for having such a great recorder, case and the like. You will be able to project that more professional image among your peers.

I have been playing violin for three years now and I felt it was time to take the plunge into the electric violin world. I was also looking for something relatively inexpensive since my main violin is on the higher end. This was the perfect choice.

Sound Try as it might, it just can't replicate the sound of an acoustic violin (which I wasn't looking for anyway). It can get pretty close though and all in all the sound is nice. The pickup is good, not the best quality but it does its job pretty well. As for being silent, it is quieter than an acoustic with a mute, but not completely silent.

Construction/Look The body is nice and solid unlike some of the cheap online instruments you can get. The finish is well done and the ebony pieces with mother of pearl inlays look rather nice. The inlays fall flush too, nothing sticking out at all. The pegs don't slip at all. The only thing I could find wrong with the construction was the bridge. It was a bit too high but that is a very easy fix. A little bit o sanding and its good to go.

Extras It came with a bow, aux cable, headphones, case and light rosin.

The rosin I put aside because I prefer dark rosin.

The headphones are fairly cheap but they work well enough that I'll use them until they break. Don't expect an amazing sound quality.

The aux cable is pretty standard and I had no issue with it.

The case is actually pretty decent. It lacks the durability and quality of higher end cases, but it does what it is supposed to and protects your violin. The zippers on mine get stuck once and a while.

The bow is not half bad either. The wood work and inlay are well done. I think the rest of the bow is brazilwood. The bow doesn't stick when tightening or losing it like cheaper bows.

I definitely recommend this if you are considering an electric violin and aren't looking to spend $800. You'll get more than you paid for and be very happy with it.

I love this violin so much, it sounds great and looks great. I'm not rating the bow. It's a typical cheap bow but it works just fine. My only issue with this thing has to do with the bridge. It is so oddly shaped... It slants upward, making the G string MUCH higher than the E. What I'm used to is a perfect arch for a bridge. The G and E are even, and the D and A are even, both slightly higher than the G and E. From what I understand, this gives a better ability to switch strings. I believe it. My acoustic violin is very easily played, perfect arch, and I love it. This electric I love also, but it's sooo hard not to hit the G string while playing the D, It just feels weird. I'm either gonna shave it down or have it replaced. Bridges only costs a few bucks, that's why I'm giving this instrument a 5 star. I do wonder though if there are any advantages to this Bridge design? Thanks in advance.

As for the rest of it, totally amazing!!! It's surprising, the headphones feel really cheap but there's no delay in the sound. The strings are not bad at all for a company violin. The pegs are super great, and turn very nicely, but I would suggest some peg drops because they tend to slip at first. It comes with all fine tuners which is awesome, it looks so sweet. It's heavier than my accoustic, however, which I don't mind. You will DEFINITELY need a shoulder rest. The bit of body it has it slippery, naturally, it's an electric violin, but it's so beautifully shaped. I can hold it ok without a shoulder rest, but I wouldn't risk it. I know after a few complaints you would expect a 4 star but really, all I have to say is GET THIS VIOLIN, I would go on and on about all the wonderful stuff. I named mine Chalotte :D. Great tone, great price, great quality, great pegs, great scroll, great form, great feel (except the bridge...), etc.

Only complaint:

1. Freaky Bridge (at least to me)

Only suggestion:

1. This would be 100% irrestistable if they included a shoulder rest. But I just use the one from my accoustic. I highly recommend KUN for a shoulder rest.

Read Best Reviews of Cecilio 4/4 CEVN-2Y Solid Wood Yellow Maple Metallic Electric / Silent Violin with Ebony Fittings i Here

I researched electric violins for over a year because my daughter wanted one so badly. While I found that I obviously couldn't afford a high-end violin, or even a mid-level one, I also didn't want to get something cheap and unplayable. I finally settled for the Cecilio after reading quite a few reviews on several different sites. Most of them said the same things; good sound but would need to replace the bridge and the strings, so I bought the Cecilio fully anticipating a need to make those extra purchases. When we got the violin, however, everything was perfect, the sound is amazing, and we didn't need to replace anything. I honestly don't think that the difference in quality for a name brand would come close to making up for the difference in price.

The only recommendation I will make is to purchase a shoulder rest, we did not buy a new one, thinking she could use the one she has for her acoustic, but we have since found that it does not fit properly and is really inconvenient. Definitely get the shoulder rest, but hold off on the bridge and strings until after you have played it.

This violin was my birthday gift. The color is great, and the quality of the voice is awesome! I have been playing Violin, guitar and one other traditional music instrument called Santoor since many years ago. This violin is one of my bests. I plugged it into my guitar mixer and it sounds well. Even if you don't have a mixer or an AMP, don't worry. The violin by itself has a very loud and clear voice.

The price used to be around $400 (according to amazon!) but now you can get it for less than $180 (140 + shipping and etc). I also ordered a Violin Shoulder Rest for about $15.00 so that let me play professionally. You cannot easily find a good quality violin electric like this in the market with this range price.

Overall, I am happy with it, Thank God.

This is a budget-priced electric violin. I bought it to use mainly as a silent fiddle during trips where I would otherwise not be able to practice. I have been playing for three years as a late starter. My usual fiddle is a loud German instrument totally unsuited to playing in hotel rooms.

The Cecilio weighs more than an acoustic fiddle, but is well balanced and not too heavy to play comfortably. You plug a headset into the jack on the back of the fiddle, which requires a 9-volt battery (included). Alternatively, you can plug it into an amp or powered speakers with the (included) cable. The bridge is held directly on top of the pickup and seems impossible to place incorrectly. The strings are steel and probably cheap, but can be replaced. I haven't felt the need to do so yet.

The pegs could be a little better fitted, but with careful adjustment and the use of the four fine tuners, it's not hard to tune this instrument. It has a conventional chin rest and accepts my Everest EZ Series Shoulder Rest for 4/4 Violin without a problem.

Tone: sweeter than most acoustics, I suspect because it's generated by the pickup in the fiddle and not by the instrument's body. There are adjustment knobs for volume and tone quality. One drawback is that all the player's hesitations, string noises, tiny errors, etc. are part of the sound mix--sounds that still occur on an acoustic but never get to the listener's ear. There's no hiding with this fiddle. I doubt that I'd use it in a performance, but it's a good, quiet practice tool. It comes with everything needed to start playing (except skill!). The case is a shaped case that has room for everything you might want to carry.

Price is $169 plus shipping is more than fair for the quality. Even my teacher likes it. And it looks good, too.

When we adjust the headset for

head size, the slider pulls apart.

This allows the right ear clip to be easily

lost, which is what happened.

A-T charges over US$100 for the right

ear clip 'service' !

And you can't just order the parts,

you must return the entire mic.

In our case we use it in Mexico,

so shipping and safe return is nearly impossible.

Knowing this, they still would not

just sell us the parts.

Audio Technica is not very accommodating,

nor helpful.

It looks very nice, and the pretty blue LED came on when hooked up to a charger. Unfortunately, nothing happened when I flicked the 'on' switch. No sound, no 'power on' indication. It will _briefly_ flicker on and produce sound if I flex the box slightly. I figure it's a bad solder joint or something like that. Sub-standard manufacturing. I suppose I could give it to a handy friend to take apart and fix, but this should really work straight out of the box. Even at this price. I've filed a claim....let's see what happens.

As a sidenote, I do own a VOX AP-BS (Bass). The Flanger is basically a copy of this. The VOX works perfectly and has survived being tossed repeatly in a backpack. Pricey, but rugged and has great sound. As a comparison, I would give the VOX four stars compared to this.

Update: The very nice folk at Flanger sent me a replacement unit. This unit came with much better packaging than the previous one. This amplifier works very well; switches on readily, sound quality is good and battery holds a charge just fine. When I compare the first unit with the replacement, it seems that the first one was battered in shipment. 'On' switch is rickety, the plug flexes and the amplifier body makes creaking noises on the bad unit. None of these problems evident with the replacement. At this price, it's a very good deal compared to the VOX units. Although the sound might not be quite as good as a VOX, the price value puts it at four stars.

Liked:

-The construction of the device is pretty solid despite its held together with only 4 tiny screws. (BUT I would recommend not being rough with it)

-Batteries already came with a charge, so I was able to test it right away. (I like the USB charging capability.)

-I know its typically for guitar, but I bought it for bass and it sounds fine plugging in directly. For me it seems to have a natural overdrive sound even with the drive and tone knobs all the way down. (my active pickups could also be contributing to this)

-It sounds FANTASTIC when plugged into the end of my pedal chain. No more overdrive sound like when plugging in directly and the effects work great through it.

-Very handy when I want to be in another room to practice silently without having to lug around my bass amp

Disliked:

-The AUX jack was not flush to the outside of the casing, so the 3.5mm cable provided didn't make a proper connection. So I took it apart and widened the casing surrounding the AUX jack using a larger drill bit just to get the cable plugged in all the way. All fixed!

Now the AUX jack looks funny but it works and sounds great!

This does a nice job for the price. I use it with headphone and occasionally with the speakers from my pc (don't have an extra amp) Distortion is a little hokey as described before. You can leave this plugged into your strat but it will break if you leave it in your Les Paul. Good value for the money. Pretty cool little device.

If you don't want to bother your neighbor with the sound of your guitar this is a good option. This device works well altough I don't feel very confortable with the headphones cable. The construction doesn't look very fine but is working so far. The knobs feel rather cheap and sometimes is hard to adjust the Flanger to get good sound. But for the price it offers a good way to play your favorite music in private.

I bought these spearker stands because I sometimes use two small QSC k8's for gigs. the speakers are small so i was confident taht these stands would be sufficient. they hook onto my sub poles easily and lock on quite tight. the speakers sit well on it and I am sure they could handle speaker of greater size and weight than my small k8's. I like to make sure that it locks tight so that the stand doesn't spin around. I recommend these to anyone who would like to make sure thier dual speaker setup looks nice and clean.

This is a rock-solid clamp and post assembly that is rated for 30 pounds per insert for a total of 60 pounds. I use it for a pair of Powerwerks 50 Watt Self-Contained Personal P.A. System that weigh in at less than fifteen pounds each. I typically mount this on a On Stage SS7745 Adjustable Subwoofer Attachment.

My application does not begin to stress this assembly because not only is the total weight half the recommended maximum, but my PA cabs easily fit within the 20" center-to-center distance between the inserts. That is actually a lot of space, so measure your speakers from the center of their pole inserts and if they do not exceed 10" (or 9 to be safe) on each side from the center of the insert they will fit this unit.

Construction is an attractive, powder coated steel and heavy-duty. The tightening knob has a sufficiently large diameter to give you leverage to comfortably tighten the friction mount to your pole or stand. This has high quality and a low price a combination I love.

Firstly, don't be turned off seeing that very few people have rated this product. The truth is that, if you look around for a PCMCI audio card in audiophile sites and stores, you will see this product reviewed exceptionally well. The average Joe only goes for the commercial hype and don't know of any venerable professional audiophile products.

Let me put one thing straight. If you decide to pay for this product, you better be having some good quality headphone (and i don't mean a Bose :-).. for all those who think Boss is any good..) like Grado, some higher end Sennhieser, Koss, Etymotics, Sure, etc. Because if you don't, you may be disappointed with this sound card. The analogy is if you have a bad eyesight and you are viewing a girl from 20 feet, it wouldn't matter if she got pimples on her face or not, you won't make any difference. On the other hand, if you have a good eyesight, you will notice the difference. Same goes here, if you sport a cheap headphone, don't waste your money on any high end audio gear.

>: The first thing you will notice when you play an mp3 is the well improved Bass, near pristine high ends. A few hours with the Indigo io and you'll hate to listen to anything without it. Indigo gives you much more depth to the music and overall a fabulously improved sound quality.

>: Another very important feature of the Indigo io is its near zero latency via its input jack. If you play some music instruments and would like some quality hook up to the laptop and yet be portable, you have no other way to go except the Indigo. There is no other product in the market that gives this quick response in a PCMCIA form factor.

>: The comparison if of interest to many people. The Indigo blows away Creative in terms of sound quality. Its like comparing a Mustang to a Corola in terms of speed and acceleration. If you have a 7.1 speaker system you would like to hook your laptop then Creative is the only option. I use a Headphone and I want the best sound quality, so Indigo is all for me. Some people say "for games the Creative is better".. I just don't understand that.... if the output sound quality is way better by the Indigo then how in games it will give poorer output than creative.... just doesn't make sense.

Being a musician, I really appreciate all of the little details that go into a piece of music. My 8-bit laptop sound card wasn't doing it for me, so I decided to treat myself to a ECHO Indigo IO. The sound improvement is dramatic. When I let people listen to audio using my ECHO Indigo, they always comment on how much "crisper" or "cleaner" the music sounds. The range also shows improvement, although it is not as easy to tell with cheaper headphones. I got a decent pair of headphones, the Sennheiser HD-280's, and then I could really tell the difference in my music. When I first used them together, the sounds was rich and full, it was amazing. It seemed like listening to music became a whole new experience. My only complaint would be that the ECHO Indigo doesn't fit perfectly into the slot, it wobbles around a bit. It's not a big problem at all, and a small price to pay for the sound coming out of this card.

Initially I had planned to buy a Creative sound card, but happened upon a good review of this card, so I took a plunge. I have been very pleased with the card. I have a Compaq EVO laptop that I use the card with. I have used it to digitize my old music collection: LPs and cassettes primarily. I connect my old Elac Miracord 770h turntable to a Carver preamp, then the preamp out to the Indigo. I use the Cakewalk Pyro 5 software to pull in the analog sound and then cut it into tracks. I adjust the input volume using the preamp volume control. As far as output from the card, I run it through a Cambridge Soundworks Model Twelve portable system. Sounds quite good to my admittedly aging ears. The weak link in my case is either my ears or the condition of the LPs and cassettes. I thought about giving it a 4 because it hogs the two slots area on my laptop, but that's no real problem, just a minor annoyance.

This card has excellent linux support. For basic listening and recording, just plug it in and go. I use it with Jack and Ardour for multitrack recording. After taking standard steps to enable realtime Jack performance, I was able to achieve 10ms latency with only the very occasional xrun, which is low enough that I can make use of live software synths as well as realtime effects on mics or instruments without any perceptible delay.

I'm quite happy with it.

Overall there are very nice headphones, but like other reviewers have said they can be tight. At first they are really tight but by leaving them stretched out on something like a computer case overnight they gradually loosen up. I have found that if you don't leave them stretched out every night they return their original position. Also after wearing them for 3-4 hours they can start to irritate your ears. For the price paid and sound quality you get I can easily recommend them to someone else, just be weary how you store them.

I read all the reviews about this headphone being a little tight around the ears after extensive use and figured if i stretch it a little it would solve that issue. Sadly that wasnt the case. Pros: Good quality sound with good bass Cons: Make is a bit tight.

Want Sennheiser HD 205-II Studio Grade DJ Headphones (Black/Grey) Discount?

I've owned several higher priced headphones than the Sennheiser HD 205-II Studio Grade DJ Headphones. But let me tell you, these sound right up there with the pricier sets. I originally bought the HD 205-II to use around town on the bus, walking, and at my favorite donut joint rather than using my pricier DJ phones for fear of me walking off without them or someone swiping them. I am now wondering, in terms of sound, what is the difference in my real DJ phones and the Sennhesier HD 205-II headphones. I'm sure there is a difference, but heck, I cannot tell the difference in sound. This set offers lots of thumping bass, wonderful mids, and silky highs. They are a little snug initially, but they loosen up after a few wears. The truth be told, the ONLY reason I'm not replacing my pricier gig Headphones, with the HD 205-II is because of the thin LONG cord of the Sennheiser. I'm afraid that the cord is too long and not sturdy enough to last during a rough DJ set. Please don't mistake that as a CON, it's just that I do a lot of moving around when I'm spinning. Bottom line, I am VERY HAPPY on my purchase of these headphones to use as an extra pair of headphones on my daily runs. If you are border line about getting these, don't be, YOU WILL HIGHLY ENJOY the look, sound, and quality of the Sennhesier HD 205-II Studio Grade DJ Headphones!!!!!

As the two other reviews have said, they tend to smoosh your ears in a way, but to fix that you just simply need to adjust them and break them in. Possibly replace the cushioning with something of your choice that you feel would be softer and better for comfort. All I had to do was adjust the length bar on the two sides for each ear. I may replace padding, but I think that if I find something softer, more sound will leak. So if you have the option, try on a pair at a store before purchasing just to be sure. As for as sound quality, yes bass is a little on the low end but I've had mine for only 2 days now, and I'm still waiting for them to officially burn it a little more. I found out that the little things added from a synthesis or dj, the little sound effects, I'm only clearly hearing them for the first time. I went to these from skullcandy earbuds. Obviously, my review will be positive since I haven't had any others before, but I have used Sennheiser before when playing counter-strike, using the PC150's. Anyways, Sennheiser is a brand that you can trust to deliver the best of the best.

My previous headphones were an ultra-cheap set from the local generic box store. They started to irritate my ears after only a few minutes of use, so they had to go! I do a lot of gaming, and using Skype to call family members long-distance. I bought the CAD U2 headphones a year and a half ago, and still use them daily.

Pro:

*Sound quality. NOT 5.1 surround sound, but very good stereo sound. Crisp high, mid, and balanced bass. Plenty loud enough to cause hearing loss(it's Bob Cramer, from Artillery!), and as quiet as you like.

*Microphone. I've compared Skype voice test with these versus the cheap set I had previously, and there is a huge positive difference with the CAD U2's. One other reviewer mentions muffled sound, and I wonder if they had the foam on the end of the microphone backwards (opening in the foam should be facing your mouth).

Con:

*Ear Comfort. It took me a while to find a comfortable position to wear these. The ear pieces just barely cover my ears {which are small). They are not large enough to go around your ears.

*Head Comfort. There is no padding on the top of the headphone band. I have the headband size maxed out and position it somewhat forward so it lays as flat as possible.

Other:

*Noise blocking. While not noise-canceling, they diminish background noises enough to make it impossible to understand my wife speaking from 10 feet away. At least as far as she knows. :}

*USB connection. If you use a sound card, you will probably not be looking at these instead of surround-sound headphones. On the other hand, it's a good thing in case your headphone or microphone jack is already occupied or doesn't work.

Not the most comfortable headphones out there, and not surround sound. Good quality, durable, does the job. I can't justify spending 3 times the money for something else, and I would buy these again today.

Bought the CAD U2 USB Stereo Headphones with Mic for creating some tutorial videos for family and friends, and love them. For the price on these, they are great. Recorded voice sounds great, no hiss or ambient noise. Cord length is great, nice and long enough for me to be able to move around in my office chair without having to unplug them. Louder than my regular headphones. Headphones have good sound, nice bass reproduction. The only , ONLY complaint I have about these are the ear pads could be a little larger to fit on the ear a little better, but works nonetheless. The ear pad size was not enough for me to take away a star for the review as I have a big head anyway (LOL)! For $36, one of the best sets I have ever bought. Very light as well. I have started using these for my podcasts, and they sound great!

UPDATE: It is February 6th, 2012, and my headphones just suddenly quit working! I was in the middle of a song, heard some crackling, and then they died. I've spent 4 hours now trying multiple solutions to get them working again. They are simply kaput! Went on CAD Audio's website to check warranty info, and nothing but an email address for support. So, I'll get back with how this turns out.

It is now February 10th, and three emails to support at CAD Audio have gone unanswered. Just a stupid auto responder. Apparently CAD doesn't support their products. I know it's not Amazon's fault that CAD doesn't respond, but it sure makes me think twice before purchasing from Amazon, and their suppliers again.

Without a doubt, this is the best affordable headset that I have ever owned. I use this for recording podcasts, voice overs for presentations, and Webinars. It is comfortable and great at isolating me from environmental noise. Best of all, clients commend me for taking the time and effort to make a recording in a professional sound studio, even though I have recorded at my desk in my home office. Excellent for Skype as well.

The other reviews regarding the quality of the microphone are more positive than my experience. When I record with them, my voice always sounds muffled. The sound from the earpieces is fine in general, but I'd gladly have settled for lousy sound and a better mic.

I purchased the CAD u2 headphones to record some webinars and audio recordings for a business that I run.

This is no run-of-the-mill recording that I am doing since I am selling what I create for large amounts of money and rely on these for all of my recording needs.

I was very impressed with the sound quality (although it does pick up ambient noise due to the sensitivity), and even the sound quality wasn't half bad.

You don't buy these for superior listening, but more so for recording Very good to high quality audio for podcasts, webinars, or other recordings.

For that purpose, these do the trick at a very reasonable cost, and I recommend them highly for that purpose.

Turned out to be perfect for me. I love to play Bach and other baroque composers, so since they wrote for harpsichord and fortepiano (fewer keys than modern pianos), I can play everything they wrote on this 61-key Yamaha right here in my tiny apartment. This model has all the rhythm choices and instrument voices you could want without being so automatic that it feels like a toy. The headphones are a bonus when there's ambient city noise or it's late at night. Other reviewers had difficulty with the stand, but they must have assembled it incorrectly. The keyboard is designed to rest atop the crossbars, not fit into the stand in any way. Try sliding the rubber sleeve supports in or out on the crossbars to balance the keyboard properly atop the stand. Also, make sure you have the height adjuster knob facing away from you as you sit at the keyboard and that the wider ends of all crossbars are facing toward you (measure the screw-hole to end distance if you have to). This will give you enough legroom when you sit at the keyboard. The two longer bars rest on the floor, of course, and the two shorter ones support the keyboard.

Buying the whole package with stand and power supply is the right choice: you have everything you need to start playing in no time.

Buy Yamaha YPT-230 Premium Keyboard Pack with Headphones, Power Supply, and Stand Now

I like this keyboard. I got it here for only $129. Walmart has a lessor model without the stand, headphones, or AC power pack on special for about the same price as this one. Excellent product. Excellent value buy.

BUT...A few details should be pointed out that may make a difference to some shoppers. First, the bundler fails to mention the stand is generic and must be assembled differently in order to work with this keyboard. If you are not handy or do not understand the directions given here by another buyer for how to modify assembly so the stand fits, you may want to subtract the stand as a factor for choosing this particular bundle.

Second, I've registered a lot of products on line and none, even minor brands, limited me to online registration and then required so much time to do it. Registration is not straight forward and simple as you might expect. Be sure to enter the entire address as presented in the manual, or you will get goofy results, a demand for email and password. Try to register and you get odd rejections such as my favorite, "your email address is not proper format" Huh? Is the program expecting Japanese? You must enter that long address. Also, the registration utility is unforgiving and unclear. No AI engine employed here! The site refers to this keyboard two different ways, PSR 233 and YPT 230. Have fun getting registration to accept your long product ID entry.

Third. A truth in advertising issue. We are told music and music lessons are included. What you are not told is they are online. You must successfully register to get any of the manuals, the music, anything. Never encountered that one before! Beware of buying a Yamaha music products open box, used, or refurbished. You will not be able to get the user manual without registering and you cannot do that without the ID written on a page included in the box. The serial number is all that is on the keyboard & you MUST enter both the serial number & the ID on the paper.

Fourth. Because of the above, you want to think over getting a Yamaha music product for a gift. Make sure the child or youth has home access to Internet or that you do. Fortunately, I open, inspect, perform burn in (24hour non-stop play (while I still have the shipping box) to reduce probabilty of defects later. If it doesn't fail the first 24 straight hours, it probably will not) assemble, and register products like this that I buy for gifts. I fixed the stand, got it registered, downloaded the Midi package and music and put them on a small flash USB, so the child can readily use it.

The e-manual is handy because there are so many features and functions, the paper manual is full of fine print on low quality background. There is so much to read, many under 13 year old children will not get much use of the Keyboard without assistance. I bought this for an advanced 7 year old. There is no way she is going to read all the fine print.

I think this is a great keyboard. It has a wonderful sound, great features including the Yamaha Educational Suite (Y.E.S.) built in (includes these features: Listen & Learn, Timing, Waiting, Chord Dictionary).

I am betting that the other negative reviews of the stand are because it was not put together right. I had mine together wrong for a couple weeks then yesterday took the keyboard off and looked at it and noticed the leg that was farthest from me (behind the other) had the support rest on top with the longer of its two sides coming towards me. This makes sense because that leg is further "away". Then I looked at the other one (the leg crossing closer to me) and it also had the longer side of the top rest coming towards me making the little plastic tab stops not align from side to side. I took out an allen wrench unscrewed the one holding that rest on and then flipped it around so the little tabs on the ends align with the opposite support rest. Now the slot on the front underside of the keyboard fits in these tabs perfectly and holds the keyboard from sliding left right or front to back. It works great.

I do imagine the keyboard stand is a generic one as a much deeper keyboard could fit on it but the fact that it has extra depth does not impact it at all. I am glad it came with it!

I was looking for a keyboard to get back in to piano playing. I had lessons as a young girl, played some with my children and got busy with life and let it slide. I purchased the Yamaha and was delighted with the sound quality. It is small enough as to not take up too much room. The headphones are a great addition as I can practice without disturbing my husband.

The actual keyboard is great...I don't understand why it's being sold with a stand that is clearly not meant for the keyboard. There is no way to make the stand fit in the keyboard grooves where the stand obviously is meant to sit.
