I've had the Cube for 2 and a half months now. It offers a wide range of effects, sufficient amplification for home practice, and...a wide of effects. The effects are really what this product is all about. What it lacks in power, it punches you in the face with various sound distortions. Acoustic, Heavy Metal, all these sounds are packed into this Cube.

Best of all, it's small and portable! Like the vast majority, I am constrained by budget (who isn't! :P). While no professional guitarist needs this, I consider it a good buy for most of us part-timers.

I don't usually write reviews unless I am pretty impressed with a product. This amp is great. It is small and has a really great sound. It is great for a portable practice session anywhere. Pretty loud for 5 watts. Not enough to jam with drums of course. I bought one so I don't have to power up my Mesa. I would compare the rectifier setting on this amp to Pantera distortion. The clean tone sounds great for solid state. I even plug my electric acoustic into it for some extra volume. It has a lot of effects like delay, flange, reverb etc. You can choose one effect at a time and use them with clean or distortion. The battery option is great so you could take it to the beach. Buy one, you won't be disappointed.

An old practice amp I had finally petered out after many years of use so I was in the market for another one. I was looking for something compact and cheap yet of fairly good quality and was recommended the Roland Microcube one day while browsing in a Guitar Center. First off I was amazed at the kind of sound that you could get out of this 2 watt amp! Plus the portability of it is unmatched. It also runs on batteries which was a pleasant surprise! The effects that are bundled into this little practice amp is another added plus! Just for the effects alone I would have plopped down the money!

I have a Fender Stratocaster that sounded so good once I plugged it in and an Ovation Acoustic Electric which sounded crisp and clean as well! So if you're looking for a nice practice amp that won't break the pocketbook you can't get any better than this IMHO.

You Tube this amp and see what I mean. This amp is a lot of fun and great value for the money!

The selections as far as "amp modeling" are outstanding. The effects are OK, but the overall sound you get is awesome. It is only a 2-watt amp, but don't pay too much attention to that; it is LOUD. Not a "gig' amp, but perfect for recording and practicing without real drums. Everyone I show it to is just as blown away as I am. I have also hooked it up to larger amps and a PA system, and this thing really works well. Worth every penny, and then some.

I heard my brother playing his acoustic on a Roland Micro-cube and knew I had to have one .. the sound was so clean and rich without any of the fuzzy airy sound around the tone you sometimes hear from small cheap speakers. I've had mine for over a year and love the tone I get on my acoustic using the JC Clean setting with light effects. It also runs forever on just 6 AA batteries. Amazing. Last night, I used my cube and acoustic to accompany a 13-voice a capella chamber group I direct. The cube was placed on top of the fireplace mantle in the room where we performed, about 4 feet high. One of my singers accidentally caught his foot in my guitar chord and the cube did a free fall onto the bricks below and landed with a solid, sickening thud. I thought it would be in a few pieces when I picked it up, but nothing had broken off and it was still in one piece. So I put it back on the mantle, adjusted some of the dial settings and turned it on. Surprise! It sounded fine and we were all astonished. This is one tough little amp. I am so impressed at how solidly it is made but don't try this at home!

Great price for two AUX cables. Normally Beats cables wear down and start to break at the ends, but these ones are last pretty long. Came pretty quick in the mail. Good buy for good price.

The cable I received was not the cable shown in the picture. I expected a Monster cable, but instead received a cheap, poorly made, unknown brand cable that did not work with my Solo Beats by Dre. The photo shows two black lines on the connectors on both ends of the cable while the cable I received had three on both ends. When plugged into my headphones and iPod, the songs sounded as if they were all instrumental. The cable only worked when the connector that went into the iPod was pulled out slightly and the songs returned to normal. I would not purchase from this seller again mainly for the fear of not getting the item I assumed I would receive and payed for.

This cable is hard to find. I had a previous cable from a different manufacturer that required an additional adapter on each end to convert from the TOSLINK to this optical 3.5mm plug. I had to replace that cable when the entire plug broke clean off when the cable was accidentally tugged.

This Sony version is top quality and solidly made. I use it to connect my MacBook Pro to my B&W Zeppelin speakers. Unfortunately, my wife's MacBook Air (2010 model) doesn't do optical out from the headphone jack, and now there's a B&W Zeppelin Air version that's wireless.

I had a previous setup where I used this cable to connect from an Apple Airport Express to the Zeppelin for wireless streaming so maybe I'll go back to that instead of upgrading to the Zeppelin Air.

Cheers!

$4, high quality, works perfectly. And it's a name brand. I can't see how you'd possibly beat this.

I bought it for connecting the optical-out on my laptop to an optical-in on a headphone amp. Works great.

Not much else to say. It's a great deal.

When I found this product online I thought it was too good to be true for it's price. Turns out that was the case.

When you receive the product, there's a sticker on the front that lists all the ipods since around 2007 that the cable does not support (ipod touch 2nd gen, ipod classic 120gb, etc).

Nice enough product, I think most problems occour from the collection of dust in the connector. It occasionally turns off, quits playing music, and rarely charges. I have 1 bit of advise though, RUN THIS CABLE DIRECTLY TO IBUS. Do not run this to the pioneer iPod converterm it is WAY to slow if you control your iPod through your head unit.

The installation was easy and this product indeed allows you to play music from your ipod/iphone in the car; however it does not charge. Kind of a bummer but the music sounds great.

After being told and sold the wrong cable, twice, I'm just happy this one fits and works! It's a decent cable, sound quality is good, and super easy to install, it plugs right in. Only complaint is the cheapo inline fuse power supply wired into the plug. If you want this cable to charge your Ipod, you need to connect the red wire to a 12V power source and black to ground. Now, I've installed quite a few inline fuses, so I was surprised when this one just cracked and fell apart when I installed the fuse and tried to twist the case together. At least I can listen to my Ipod while I drive down to O'Reilly's to buy a quality inline fuse, that is, if my Ipod doesn't die along the way.

The product you receive is not what is shown in the picture. The locking tab is on the right face you can see in the picture. This then changes the rest of the keyed plug in functions.

If that is critical to you like it was to me you will want to pick another product. I ended up sending mine back to get another product sold on Amazon.

I am using two of these systems each with 4 receivers in my church in Yorba Linda, California. Never had any complaint from the band. They are rugged, solid metal case, heavy, elastic antenna, and replacing the batteries once a month. Set up is easy and self explanatory. Never had to read the manual.

Love the fact that they are stereo, so you can play the instrument in one channel and a mix in the other and the artist is balancing in between the two channels.

I would give 5 stars is I could mix the two outputs in both ears and just add more or less instrument.

Also, the battery compartment lockers are plastic and one broke when dropped.

Other that that they are amazing piece of equipment with higher performance than other more expensive brands.

Highly recommended.

Aesthetically, these headphones are beautiful. They look amazing and like the article mentioned, I had a hard time choosing between the two colors. I decided to go with the red and blacks. But the color schemes alone take you back to the Jordan days. They feel sturdy and expensive. Just overall, they look and feel definitely like a high end and high quality headphone.

Now on to sound: I think they are great and produce a high quality sound. I feel that they do really well in isolated high treble areas (more vocals and less bass) and they do really well in isolated Bass and beats sounds but when they are combined, the bass tends to fall in the background. I'm a person that loves vocals and lyrics a lot so I notice that a lot. I have a lot of friends that love the beat and bass more than anything and could probably listen to a beat with a random hook. I think people who focus on Bass will not particularly get the full use and feel of these headphones because they amplify everything else involved in the tracks, but, on the other hand, music lovers and eclectic tastes will no doubt be satisfied. That intense sensitivity the article mentions is truly prevalent when listening to well mastered tracks and albums.

I love how you can separate the different components of a song and truly hear the music and sound. I enjoy how it eliminates the outside sound and essentially zones you out from the rest of the world. "Plug in, Fade out" could not be a more perfect slogan, not only because it sounds great but because its very true. I found myself lost in my music while running and have to pull the headphones off my ears a couple times to make sure I wasn't blasting the music to loud to disturb others. I love how they can fit around my entire big-ass ear. I did get a little irritated using them while running but I think that is just from switching from in-ear headphones to over-ear ones. I just need to get used to the feel since I've been using in-ear headphones for the past 5 years or so.

Overall, these headphones have been great. They've helped me escape from the problems and realities of the world, as well as, allowing me to focus on those same issues and life itself. You won't be worried about anything but the music; simply what headphones should do.

A great product at a great price. Comparable to the other headphones in the market but at a price that is 30-50% less, you can not go wrong with these. Very comfortable, stylish, and produce quality sound. I would definitely recommend owning a pair.

Buy Plugged Inc. - Crown Series (Martian) Now

Before buying these I was definitely skeptical ... Most headphones these days aren simply hyped up due to the endorsement they receive or the advertising budgets they have. The crown series definitely did not disappoint ... I have a pair of the Beats by Dre and comparing the two ... The beats seem very bass heavy and made out of junky plastic and everyone knows they cost a fortune. Plugged Inc's Crown series hit the nail on the spot. They feel snugg on top of your ears and deliver a perfect blend of highs, mids, and lows. No sloppy bass or hollow treble. You also get a detachable, gold plated cable with track control and a mic which is compatible with the iPhone.

The headphones are loud in design and loud in general. I am looking forward to the rest of their products ... Few things I would hope for (Im sure they are headed in that direction) ... is on OVER the ear headphones ... maybe a carrying case ... and/or customization in the colors. A black matte finish would look sick!

Definitely happy with my purchase!

Great product! Great sound quality, with a cool design, and real world functionality. This product is a bargain at the price and comparatively speaking matches or exceeds all its competitors at a fraction of the cost. The attributes I value the most are the comfort along with the clear and crisp sound quality. I look forward to following the growth of this company if this product is a sign of things to come the future is bright.

I've wanted a pair of headphones like this for sometime now because these seem to las much longer than the little wire ones that go in or around your ear. I wanted a pair that wasn't too bulky, big, and overpriced which naturally ruled out the highly acclaimed Beats by Dre headphones. I wanted a pair that i could take around with me, that would fold, and look nice on me while i wear them. Well i found them! Urbanears won me over at a store i saw them at. If i had seen them here on Amazon first, i probably would have not bought them with previous comments, but i truly think if you are in any type of situation like I was in, then these are the headphones for you.

What I like:

Fits nicely on your head

Not too big not too small ear covers

GREAT SOUND!

Folds nicely

Comes in many colors to choose from.

Come with extra jacks for devices with diff mm inputs

What I dislike:

Does tend to get a little uncomfortable if worn for a long time, but what headphones don't. Nothing that would make me want my money back.

If you have studded earrings, they are tight enough to push the back pin into your skin. Nothing serious, but really uncomfortable. With proper placement it goes away.

It doesn't come with a built in volume adjuster, which isn't too much to ask for when the price is what it is

It wouldn't have killed them to make their brand name more visible on the product but this may be a good thing for those that do not like to advertise brand names.

What i love:

The phone headset feature! One button to start a call with voice calling (at least for those blackberry users), same button mutes, and ends call.

Crisp clean sounds of other person's voice coming in, and they can hear you better with the small mic feature.

I love the fabric cord! finally an upgrade from all the cheap little wires that get tangled and short out in a month.

The extra 3mm headphone jack so that a friend or partner can share in your music.

Overall:

A very good headphone set with minor technicalities but major features that i'm sure consumers will enjoy. As an avid Amazon prime customer, i just wanted to give back a review to those that need it in making their decision.

Having spent a serious portion of my early life doing professional audio, I'm more than a little critical.

These are GREAT cans. Good audio response, small size, well thought out cabling.

I particularly like the choice of flexweave wire, and fabric covering. Super flexible,

and known to be quite durable. (If your cat doesn't chew through it.)

However, just as hats don't come in one size fits all...these and any other on-the-ear headphones

will be uncomfortable for some. For the record, my hat size is 7.5 (US) and my ears stick out

almost as badly as our current president's. And these are STILL comfortable, although I haven't

worn them for more than an hour at a time, so far.

For 60 bucks, you can't go wrong, particularly if you have an iPhone and want to be able

to take calls. I was forced to get my wife a pair, just to keep her from bogarting mine.

She settled on hot pink, not the purple. Mine are steel grey. The designer colors are a nice touch.

Reports of sound quality issues are simply misinformed. Or the product of hearing impairment (or maybe product variation?). I own several headsets. One for simple communications, two for studio narration work, multiple ear buds, and these. These are simply the best I've owned or used in as long as I can remember.

For the price, you can't go wrong. Unless your hat size is a lot larger than mine, then they'll be tight, and I advise something for over the ear, instead of on it.

NOTE: my grandsons broke theirs, and my son and his wife are critical of them as being insufficiently robust. YMMV. I don't see how they did it, frankly. But if you have teenagers, robustness may be an issue.

Buy URBANEARS Plattan Over-Ear Headphones - Clover Now

I read several reviews before buying a pair here on amazon. I picked them up at a discount on Labor Day weekend from Off Saks for like $38. I had reservations about the size, as I have rather large ears, and am a male. But I don't wear earrings so I don't have much of the discomfort that several of the female reviewers do. But I do wear glasses occasionally and that can cause some pinching on the back of my head. Prolonged use to turn my ears red and my jaw actually starts to hurt for whatever weird reason.

As for the SOUND, I read about the muddiness of it, and yes, when listening to some rock or metal I did notice it. But the headphones really excel when it comes to bass, and I listen to A LOT of DUBSTEP. So for the price I got them at, yes, this was a great buy. Why blow $179 on "trendy" Beats when you can get the simplisticly sick design and bright colors of Urbanears. It looks great, and sounds great. And the rope cord is pretty chill too.

This is a definite buy.

Overall, these are fantastic headphones they're comfortable, sound great, and look better. I use them for everything hanging out and relaxing, during work, and everything in between.

Pros:

The sound quality is awesome; they work for just about any type of music from classical, to celtic, to grunge rock, to trance. However, some fans of rap/hip hop may find the bass slightly deficient; see cons below.

They really are gorgeous. Everything the cloth cord (nice and sturdy), inconspicuous mic, subtle speakers (not to big, not too small), and cloth-covered headband it all combines to make these cans just beautiful.

Solid construction; everything feels non-plastic-y, and the cloth cord provides a sense of stability you can't get with plastic cords, like on the highly-lauded (and highly-overpriced) Beats Studio by Dr. Dre Hi-Def Noise-Canceling Over-Ear Headphones.

The 'Zound' socket on these headphones is wonderful. Gone are the days when you're awkwardly watching a friend listen to the first 30 seconds of the song before they take your 'phones off, feeling uncomfortable about you not being able to hear. The ability to just plug another pair of headphones into yours and share your music is superlatively cool. Just plug your friends headphones in, and you both get the stereo sound. Sweet.

Portable; these fold up to about the size of your fist, and will fit quite nicely in your bag or man-purse.

Cons:

The bass is not quite as good as it could be. Overall, the sound is well-balanced and pleasing, but like any pair of headphones that doesn't feel like putting a hat on, physics prevent the bass from being optimal for hip hop and rap. If you're looking for that kind of sound, try WeSC Oboe Headphone (Black) (though be warned that the sound on the rest of the genres sound like they're coming through a thick piece of foam).

There are some comfort issues, but they can be nullified by the fact that any pair of headphones, from iPod earbuds to Beats Studio, are all going to become uncomfortable after a given period of time. For me, the period is about 2-3 hours, which is more than needed for the periods I listen to them. That period may change based on the size of your head. All in all, these headphones are quite comfortable, if a bit snug-fitting.

On the whole, these headphones are just about perfect. If you want to upgrade from whatever iffy earbuds came with your MP3 player, or are looking for a portable alternative to your $500 DJ-ing headphones, or just want a pair of really sleek, awesome-sounding general-use headphones, you've found 'em. Beautiful and functional, these should meet your exacting standards.

Want URBANEARS Plattan Over-Ear Headphones - Clover Discount?

Headphones are always a tricky thing to review because every audio device you play the music from has its own sound signature, peoples ears do hear differently, and finally perceptions of what sounds good differ as well. However it's always nice to have another review to read as you balance the pros and cons and try to decide if these headphones are for you. I'll simply break it down like this:

PROS:

--These headphones are true eye candy and make heads turn beautiful colors, a true fashion accessory.

--The sound quality is what's expected in this price range. It's no audiophile's dream, nor do they sound bad. Solid sound for the price.

--The cloth shoe string-like cable seems sturdy and is quite unique.

--Sturdy build. Ironically the metal clamps connecting the cans to the headband can come out easily but you can pop them back in with ease.

CONS:

--It has been mentioned frequently and people are right; these are not very comfortable. The first moment you put them on they seem fine but after prolonged use your ears suddenly feel sore. Obviously everyone's head shape and ear size is different, but if you wear these cans directly on your ears they can actually hurt in a matter of 20-30 minutes time. I have found that if I pivot the headband towards the back of my head a bit and let the cups rest slightly towards my cheeks and away from the outer edges of my ears the discomfort is significantly minimized. Same with shifting them around occasionally. If these were my main and only headphones, however, I would send them back because of this. But I like them as a fashion accessory and as a spare set for fun.

--Some people mention that these headphones sound muddy. They do have more in the low-end range than high, so if crisp highs are what you are after you might want to look elsewhere. I actually prefer more high end response, but I certainly don't think these phones sound "muddy." They have a good mid-range, and decent all around lows & highs. Again, when you pay around $60 for headphones, don't forget there are many ranging in the hundreds with much better sound. If you're an average Joe who thinks iPods and mp3s sound great, you won't be disappointed at all and these cans will blow away any factory ear buds that come with your mp3 player hands down.

I'm not sure why Amazon didn't have a 'review' tab for the ORANGE headphones that I actually bought, so I'm forced to leave this for the grey ones... like it matters!

Hope this helps.

This headphones give you very good high notes. If you like strong bass, then this headphones may not be for you. But of you want clear voice, clear high, and reverberating sound, then I found this headphones is among the best. The headphones are also well made (which is especially rare for this price range), and its open back makes it very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. But one should note that the open-back feature may make this headphones unfit for noisy environments or for studios (where noise leak is unacceptable). Other owners also complained about the way the headphones (mis)fits over the ears. So you may want to try on a pair on before buying. Personally, I have absolutely no problem about the way the headphones fit over my ears. In summary, I don't think that you can get a better headphone for this price range.

Good clean sound, just a bit big for my smaller head. Comfortable to wear for a few hours, any more then that it starts to hurt the ears, could just be because of the size. Not incredibly bassy buy just enough when listening to games and music. I use them for recording and they work pretty well and I can create even mixes of music with them.

This was the first time with this product and low and behold, I have ran up my blood pressure trying to install this thing. The instruction "cheat sheet" was not at all helpful. Had to redo everything step-by-step all over again, and again, and again. So once installed, the iLok and registration components did not communicate to well. Apparently, something went wrong with the other partners linked to this product. I need someone to contact me as soon as possible and let me know when iLok, Avid and the iLok Management (3rd Generation) will be fix. It is making a BAD NAME FOR PRO TOOLS AT THIS POINT....help, or don't waste your money on this thing until it is 'REALLY FIXED', I have been pulling all my hair out on this one, for about 2 weeks now....urkkkkkked!!!!

This is your basic USB recording interface with Pro Tools SE included. When this first came out it had Pro Tools Express which was a much better software than SE, you can check out the comparison chart between the PT versions on Avid's website. I didn't experience all the issues the other reviewer had regarding getting the unit up and running, it was pretty simple. PTSE is just not a very good recording option but you can run the Mbox Mini with Garageband and with Abelton Live Lite which is what I do, it works perfectly fine. It also runs fine with Cubase, Logic and pretty much everything out there.

Some of the plug ins that some in PTExp are pretty cool as are some of the VST's so I still use certain parts of it. As far as the hardware goes, the price is pretty good for a 2x2 interface if you only need a 1 by then you can get away with something like the Fast Track MKII for $100 less. All in all worth the money and for me meets my needs and I found it easy to set up and use.

I'm more impressed with the design and aesthetics of the thing than the function and use of it. I could understand that they're trying to curb piracy of the product but INSTALLATION IS HELL! they take you to Jabim and back just to install the darn thing. Then after installation i used it once, then I closed it. When I opened the software again, it was telling me that Pro Tools doesnt recognize the Mbox (therefore the software could load/use), please insert the Mbox etc. So I tried using the updated driver from the internet, that then was hell because it would open therefore i couldn't install. Then a month later I tried importing some files into a Pro Tools session, and it would just stuck, wouldn't open or finish load. I had to transfer the session and everything onto another computer of fine where I MBox 2 installed. The whole thing is only stress and I wouldn't advise you to buy Mbox3 with Express. Im not sure if it's only the Mbox mini 3 or Express that's a problem but my advise is to stick with the Mbox 2 with LE. It's safer, more stable and would give you a better overall experience.

Cheers...

I have worked for weeks/countless hours trying to get this installed to no avail... Not compatible with Xp, Win 8 or 7... Never recognizes the hardware... they have endless lists of drivers, so You pretty much fish around/trial and error. I never got it working... Very sad as Protools has a good reputation... It did to me prior to this! I have never had this much trouble with any software, and I work in IT... Unless You are an IT pro, do not buy this... I will be returning and buying something more user friendly

After barely a year of use, the mbox mini hardware stopped being recognized by my Mac. I tried it on another computer. I tried several different cables. I tried everything suggested in forums. I uninstalled and reinstalled and repaired disk permissions. I tried going to the Avid site, but many of the links are broken and other pages are down for maintenance. And they charge $40 for a service call. Mind you, I'm guessing at that. It might be $20; it might be $80. Their service sales page is very unclear as to which purchase is for a hardware service call.

The only positive thing to come out of my experience with Pro Tools and the mbox mini is that I learned to Command Save frequently, thanks to Pro Tools' propensity for crashing, freezing, and otherwise ceasing to work. So there's that.
