After 60 days of use, the retractor failed. Good sound, microphone fine, but the retractor is now in retraction mode all the time. As such, the device is useless. Although the price is low, the longevity is too. Not recommended.

Got these headphones for my teenager's birthday because she was having trouble with tangled cords. I specifically looked for ones for her iPod with the audio controls and mic so she could take advantage of additional apps. She started using them about 2 weeks after they arrived. After the first week of use, the audio started going out one one ear. If the wire at the top of the jack was held right, the audio popped back in. After another few days, the audio stopped working in the other side also and has completely gone out in the first side. She has been careful with these headphones as we always talk about proper care of her electronics. She has had to revert back to one of the cheaper sets of earbuds that tangles easier. We are very disappointed with these earbuds and don't recommend them for purchase.

I liked the idea of retractable earbuds but this is too heavy and pulls down your ears making it quite uncomfortable. Also, the sound quality is disappointing, sound is muffled, no clarity, I am buying something else...

I've been looking for something that splits the sound from a computer sound card to multiple sound devices, such as various headphones, powered speakers, amplifier, etc. When I began looking for something to split the sound between devices, I wasn't sure what to search for, and I couldn't find anything that would work. I knew nothing about headphone amplifiers, but that is exactly what I needed, and finally happened upon it. I looked at purchasing the Rolls HA43 Amp, but I liked the style and layout of this unit better. All the connections are in the back and the control knobs are in the front. The unit looks good, feels very sturdy and is well made. The sound is easily adjustable for each device and sounds great. I was worried about hiss/hum noises before purchasing this, but I don't hear any at all. I am very happy with the purchase and highly recommend it.

This is a great product and does what it's supposed to but I have three complaints about it.

First, as others have said there is no ON/OFF switch. If you want to turn it off you must unplug it from the back of the set-top box as I've been doing. Also, that green light in the center of the box is really, really bright and quite annoying and distracts from when your watching a movie on TV. I usually turn the box to it's side to resolve this or cover it with a dark colored paper. The other problem I have is that the inputs and outputs where you plug in your headsets are in the rear when they make much more sense to put them in the front. By having them plugged in the back the wires have to be bent/curved 180 degrees since you're facing the front of the box -rather than straight if they would have been in the front. As a result, not only are you losing some wire slack (for example instead of 10 ft of wire length you only get 9.4ft) but as a result of the wire bending (in some cases more than one if you attach multiple headsets) the box tends to move out of it's place.

Also, because of the size and shape of the AC Power Adapter (see image at top of this product page) when plugged into a power strip/surge protector you end up take up or covering 2 or 3 outlets, which really sucks!

This is an extremely reasonably priced basic headphone amp. Like another reviewer said, the only thing I'd like that it doesn't have is an on-off switch. You just plug it in and it's on. But it's really just fine the way it is. The unit is surprisingly sturdy feeling, and the knobs move pleasingly smoothly no sudden shifts in volume. I like that each output has both a 1/4" and an 1/8" option. I haven't used this unit for critical listening yet (I use it mainly for monitoring during recording, not mixing), but I am quite happy with the purchase.

I was considering this one and the behringer HA400. Decided on this one based on some other review on other sites. Its a solid unit and seems well made. I have it connected to the output of a x-fi titanium and there is no background noise unless you turn the volume on the amp to greater than 3/4 power which would blow you ear drums out if you played music. The main reason i purchased these were the front audio connector on my computer has static noise so i wanted something to connect directly to the back of the soundcard that gives multiple outputs. That being said the sound is a bit fuller coming from the amp but i could only tell the difference with a high end set of headphones. Sounds great with the ATH-A700 from Audio Technics. At last the only thing missing would be an on-off switch but since i havent found any of these microamps to have a switch i didnt deduct a star.

I was looking for an amp that would boost the signal to my headphones from the audio outs on my HDTV for late night BluRay viewing. I entertained more expensive headphone amps such as HeadRoom's special ones but then money became tight and I wasn't about to spend $300 on one. I saw the reviews the other have posted and decided to try this one out, for the price it was a no-brainer. I got the amp yesterday and tried it out today using the Resident Evil opening sequence, all I can say is that it did the job exactly as I had hoped. My aging Sony CD3000's came to life and had zero distortion...mids, highs and bass were all neutral with nothing over the top.

If you are a night owl and need a solution similar to mine, this is the best bang for the buck you can get! Just don't skimp on cheap cables, they DO make a difference. Check outand [,,,]for the best price on high quality cables (had to plug, just too good to keep a secret). Happy listening!

This is well worth the money. eliminated the overly loud stage monitors and now everyone in on in-ears! With six direct inputs, each (or nearly each, we have more than six) musician can have their own mix. Has plenty of power per channel to drive Shure E215 headphones. Even on the shared channels, everyone is happy with the volume. I am tempted to buy another one so two gals don't have to share mixes.

Looked to upgrade my studio with a headphone distribution amp since I often record larger groups, and chose this as it is able to feed 18 headsets.

But wish I had chosen otherwise. I had it purchased for me in the US and brought to me in Norway, and what do you know, 'warranty void' as soon as it crossed borders. The first time I plugged it in it shorted the fuse. I got two new ones, and it shorted them also. Contacted Alesis, but no assistance offered. This was an obvious built-in malfunction from the factory, which should have been covered.

I'm never buying Alesis again!!

I'm a piano teacher, specializing in teaching very young beginners. I sympathize with parents who ask me if they really have to invest in a traditional piano for a 5or 6-year-old who might not really like the instrument after a few lessons. So I am willing to teach on an electronic keyboard, and for several years, I've recommended the CTK-700, which for around $100 at Target or Walmart offered full-size keys and a reasonable "touch".

I do warn parents that a beginner will NOT advance as quickly on a keyboard as they do on an acoustic piano, and I encourage parents to find even a terrible upright as soon as possible if their children maintains interest in the instrument. However, remember that traditional pianos require tuning twice yearly, and around $200 moving fee when you buy or sell...if you are the average parent struggling to make ends meet, I can understand the reluctance to make this kind of investment on top of weekly piano lessons.

To my knowledge, Casio doesn't make the CTK-700 anymore. Apparently the 2100 is the replacement. I find that the touch is not quite as good as the 700, the keys are a little too "springy" for my taste; when you pressed a key on the 700 there was a slight resistance that was better for my students.

However, for the price, this is a good keyboard. It's relatively durable (I've seen it fall from a stand all the way to the floor--some keys were pushed out of place, but could be pushed back and the keyboard functioned as before with no lasting problems). There is a headphone jack, which might be helpful in a family with small children. The default grand piano sound is acceptable and kids have fun playing with the other sounds.

In addition to price, another advantage to keyboards for young beginners is that the keyboard (with an "X" type stand) can be adjusted to the proper height for the child. You get a headstart on good technique by making the piano fit the child: in fact this is a prime tenet of Suzuki piano instruction, where instructors use an adjustable chair (retail: $600) and adjustable stool (minimum of $60 retail). (The concept is to make the height of the keys so that the forearm is parallel to the ground and the wrist straight with the body relaxed.) With a keyboard, as the child grows, you can adjust the stand and the chair you use to keep the forearm at the right height and the feet flat on the floor or on some type of footstool (for instance, those risers that people use for kids to reach the sink, or a couple phonebooks). A little care in setting up the keyboard at the proper height will lead the beginning student to good technique automatically.

Still, remember that the tactile feedback from a true piano along with the physical sensation of piano strings vibrating has an impact on the performer's enjoyment. You won't get that from a beginner keyboard from any manufacturer. But I believe that this is a decent product for a reasonable price.

I don't recommend the higher priced "touch-sensitive" keyboards such as the Privia. What I've experienced is that something about the ways those keys work leads to disastrous technique in my students--very bad habits that have proved difficult to correct. And professional keyboards contain features (MIDI input, sampled sounds etc.) that are not necessary for beginning students--don't waste your money on these items. If money is an issue, try this keyboard or an equivalent from Yamaha, and then upgrade to a used upright when the child has demonstrated a lasting interest.

I bought this item to teach my kids how to play the piano. Since we live in a fairly small space, I thought it would be a great alternative to a regular upright piano. I love the touch, much better than the CTk 700 which my kids had before. This one is so much better! I love this piano and I love using it to teach my kids how to play.

The keyboard is pretty much what I expected. It's a fun instrument with enough keys for 2-handed playing, and the 400 "voices" and other features provide a lot of varied entertainment. I got this to use in an RV and to take to social gatherings. The sound quality is satisfactory, and is better than some other small keyboards. However, it is not comparable to a real piano, either in touch or sound. My only disappointment is the absence of an AC adapter, which is supposed to be included, according to the product description. I have ordered an adapter and a sustain pedal. The former is cheaper than replacing 6 AA batteries every 4 playing hours, and the latter produces a significant improvement in the sound quality. PS: If you plan to walk into Radio Shack for an adapter, take the keyboard with you. They have many choices, and it would be easy to make a mistake.

This is a really nice keyboard for the money. My kids love it, and the quality is what you would normally expect from Casio. Good product, just don't expect it to be a professional grade keyboard. It is what it is.

I bought this keyboard for my 4-year old to use for piano practice. It is exactly what I was looking for at a very reasonable price. He really enjoys playing with the extra features (stored songs, changing tempo and instrument sounds). The piano feels solid and of good quality (except a little bend in my battery cover on bottom so easily overlooked and probably not on all). The piano sound is more realistic than others I've heard. No plug was included although in the product description it says one is included. Amazon immediately fixed the problem for me by having me order the plug and refunding me the price. Very pleased with this purchase & would recommend to anyone in need of a keyboard.

With this kit I am able to play whenever I have free time, and not just when it's daylight! Had to go electronic to pacify the neighbor. This is no sacrifice though, the sound is great and far more realistic even through my headphones.

Good build to the rack and drum placement. This is very easy to adjust and customize.

The bass and Hi-Hat pedals are adjustable, as are the rest of the drums, to just about any sound and speed response I want.

The pads have good reaction, very similar to practice pads so it's easy to become accustomed.

As a whole, the drum kit has met my expectations. Problems I encountered were mislabeled parts but fortunately nothing was missing and directions were good and easy to follow.

I'm not a drummer, I'm a guitarist. As a musician, I'd like to be as versatile as possible, so I ordered this to learn drums. Let me start with assembly. It was a pain in the ass. Very crappy instructions. After about 3 hours, I finished assembling. The qualityjust gonna be bluntsounds like Lars Ulrich's kit in St.Anger. Not great. But as a starter, it get the job done. Oh, and try to stay away from headphones, it only enhances the terrible quality. Use an amp, and change the settings to your preference. I hope I helped anyone.

The pedals are amazing, they feel just like the real thing to me. What is more, the skins feel like real drum skins, not digital at all! The bounce on the snare makes it easy to get the right beat all the time. What could be better than being able to play drums at night and not wake the neighbors!!?

We bought these for our son (and for us). While he is able to practice, he needs to do so with earphones. There is no speaker so in our to hear them, you need earphones. This is key and for us a good thing. We know he is practicing because we hear the hits but not sure what he is playing. Quality of the set seems to be pretty good.

This is an excellent usb microphone. I have no problems using it for picking up conversations around a typical sized conference table. The audio quality is pretty decent, and you can use it placed on your computer desk to easily make typical calls from your computer. I've tested it with Mac, Linux, and Windows and it has worked well on each. For some reason on a Windows 8 install, the OS would automatically lower the volume of the mic. I'm guessing there's a setting that could fix this, but it was kind of a pain. Thankfully I hardly ever use Windows and it runs without flaw on Linux (tested on Ubuntu), which is great. The sound quality on the speaker could be better or louder, but it works fairly well as a speakerphone if the party on the other end is at a normal volume. It's also been tremendously busy on feedback/echo from the speaker and even from other external speakers. I was really pleasantly surprised by this.

I've also found it to be pretty durable. It's been dropped a couple of times, with no loss in audio quality or visual scars.
