I did my research before purchasing the Amplink Link. Most reviewers preferred the Ampkit Link over the other guitar interfaces (like the iRig, Griffin Guitar Connect, PRS etc). The Ampkit Link is the only one that uses it's own batteries to boost the signals outside the iPhone/iPad. The others just use the iPhone/iPad signal levels of the device and reviewers complained about crosstalk. The best thing about any of these devices is that you can use them with any app on your device as an audio in and out. I am a bass player and opted to purchase some in-app items a la carte in Amplink rather than buy the Ampkit+ $19 package. I spent the same amount and bought the Bass head/cabinet, delay, reverb. I also use the Ampkit Link with GigDaddy multitrack app ($4 with effects). I also started using the Ampkit Link to run my bands sound board through the Ampkit app for reverb and delay for the whole mix!! I just used the AUX send & return to go through the Link. The other day I just noticed that the version 2 of Amplitube for iOS has an in app purchase of a 4 track recorder for $10!! I'm gonna have to get that and try it out. Then I will have a mutitrack recorder with any amp, cabinet effects combination I could ever want.

I don't work for or get paid by any of these companies, I'm just an IT guy that went to Recording Engineering school and have been a bass player for over 20 years.

Like several others, I did some research before settling on the AmpKit LiNK. I actually bought the LiNK locally at a guitar store. Out of the box, the LiNK was made far more cheaply than anticipated. I thought the materials could have been better and the whole thing could have been made studier, especially given that it should get reasonably steady use. The first plug in seemed good, though once again I felt that it wouldn't take much to damage the input jacks. I had the same intermittent signal drop out already mentioned by some users after just a few minutes and found that either jiggling the cord or fidgeting with the jack on the iPhone helped, but frankly, I don't care to run the risk of messing up the jack on a $200 phone to get a $30 device to work.

The LiNK was noisy, but I found that fiddling around with the app settings helped resolve most of it. Still, there was an annoying popping, crackling sound that wouldn't go away. I looked online to find possible solutions for the noise, but most advice said to adjust the settings. In a few days, the crackling increased to entirely unplayable levels. I wrote the company and while they were extremely helpful, they eventually said there must be something wrong with the unit I had and asked me to swap it out for another LiNK. I tried three other ones in the store and they all had the jack issues mentioned above. One of the new ones had the same crackling and popping issue.

Ultimately I decided to go with a competitor's product. I tried it in the store as well and it performed exactly as expected with no problems. And no batteries needed, which works out as a plus too.

I'd caution anyone looking to buy one of these to either find a friend who has one or try the product locally first before buying it.

Peavey AmpKit Link is a great, inexpensive way to connect a guitar and output (headphones, PA, etc) to your iPod Touch / iPhone / iPad. I use it on my iPad, but be aware that this device is just the hardware interface. You also have to get the app (available in free or paid versions) from the app store. Be aware that the Peavey app is only decent. . . I experienced a little latency-stutter in the free AmpKit app, and it's only for iPod/iPhone so it doesn't look as good on the iPad; but IK Multimedia's Amplitube is far superior and works fine with the Peavey AmpKit Link. I paid $20 for the full-on app with all the extra cabs/stomps/mics and it was well worth it. You can create your own setups and jam out, hook it up to a PA if you like and the sound quality is excellent!

If you want to be able to play your instrument through your iPad, you NEED an interface of some kind. This is an interface of some kind. Not a great kind... But functional.

... IF you know how to solder.

Since I've been an electronics tech and owned more than a couple of electronics repair companies over the last 30+ years, it was no big problem.

I also ran JBL's electronics production line for a year.

That made troubleshooting and repairing this device fairly easy.

Even at the very beginning I found the unit to be very touchy. Intermittently getting power. The light would go off and the sound would vanish. Then back on. Then off. If you held it just right, it would work.

I don't know about you, but I find it very difficult to play guitar while holding this little white box with one hand...

I figured the problem could only be in a couple of places, so I pried the housing open, checked the power conducting contacts that utilize the ground of the instrument plug to make the connection. They seemed OK, but I tensioned them up and cleaned the contacts just in case.

No change.

A careful examination of the solder points showed cold solders on all 4 of the battery connectors on the circuit board.

I re-soldered all of them and it works great now.

Cheap construction and bad soldering technique in this device yields a very unreliable product.

It's made in China.

They should spend a little time and teach their 4 year-olds how to properly solder a connection.

It's not that difficult.

After researching various sources, and given the Peavey name, I decided to purchase this item. I've purchased tons of guitar accessories in the past and this one ranks right around last in quality. It worked great out of the box and the ampkit app was also great. Based on that first use, I paid about 100 bucks to get the rest of the ampkit models thinking this would be an awesome substitute for carting around larger electronic effects devices. My dreams were smashed on the rocky shores of reality, however, when I went to use this thing for the second time. All I got through the headphones were a bunch of loud, annoying popping and crackling noises with no guitar sound whatsoever. The green light came on and everything appeared to work, but I could not get a guitar sound through my headphones. In addition, the ampkit meter would not register any sound except for the popping and crackling. So, I started troubleshooting. I replaced the batteries. Nope. I plugged my guitar and headphones into another effects device to make sure those were fine. Worked perfectly. Plugged my headphones into my iPhone jack to make sure that wasn't the problem. Again, worked perfectly. Back to the ampkit link. Still nothing. If I moved the plug around in the iPhone jack, I was able to get about 1 second of intermittent guitar along with all of the crackling and popping before it would cut out again. Like others have commented, however, I wasn't about to ruin the jack on my iPhone 4s trying to get this garbage to do what it was supposedly designed to do in the first place. Bottom line; This thing is a piece of junk. I would rather have spent 50 bucks on something that was built to last than waste 30 on something that was only good, in my case, for one use. Hey Peavey, here's a thought; if you're designing something that is intended to be portable, you may want to design some durability into the product. Oh, and it's also a good idea to actually test the performance AND the durability before asking the public to hand over their hard-earned money. It seems that portion of product development was skipped to keep costs down on this product. This thing should be built like a miniature stomp box. I wouldn't care if it weighed 2 lbs if it meant the product was reliable. Peavey should be embarrassed to have their name stamped on this product.

I just bought this beauty and Im just amazed! the tone is so clear jet punchy. The overdrive can go hard rock levels but I dont consider that it can go further than that without lacking that metal punch you get in amps like Mesa,Marshall or other Orange models. It can be done I guess but it doesnt sound right to me. This is a the perfect amp for practice, recording and even for a small gig band. It is loud! Orange is the kind of amp that has 35 but sounds like a 50W so u can play side by side with a drumer with no problems at all. Eric johnson, ACDC,ZZTOP,and countless other bands tones are achivable with this combo.

This was a Christmas gift for my son and he absolutely loves it. The construction and quality are superb. He loves all the special affects and features. I don't know anything about this stuff, but he always brings me in to show me the "totally cool new affect I figured out how to make. " And he can rattle the house with no fear of blowing the amp out.

I can only say that I completely agree with my other reviewer as I am the second to review these great phones.

M-Audio is a well known name in the music world but this is their first foray into headphones. I am still a beginner audiophile so these were my first entry level purchase. I am coming from the Koss Porta Pro. These are like the big brother Porta Pro, which is everything I was looking for. The bass is definitely present, but not muddy or overpowering.

You would pick these up if you listen to hip hop/rap or rock. These may not be so good for classical or music where you are looking for a large soundstage as closed headphones lack that aspect.

I decided to take the plunge and take a chance on this relatively new brand and purchase my first real set of headphones (had an akg k26 p before). Got it on Monday and I've been very pleased with it thus far. Bass is right there and should be comparable to many sub $150 headphones (except the DT770s) judging from other user reviews at head-fi.org. I use it primarily for movies and so sound detail is important and the Q40 definetly delivers on that aspect. The build is sturdy (Not a fan of flimsily made headphones... ahem Grados, Senns, Denons) and its not too heavy. My ears started to get warm after about 1 hour but that's expected with any closed style headphones. Isolation is excellent and sound leak is minimal... although certainly no IEM .

The kicker for me was the price of course. at around 100 bucks incl shipping. I don't know any comparable headphone out there at that price range.

Great for

-hiphop, heavy rock, movies, gaming

Look elsewhere if you're into (Denon D1001?)

Other reviewers have covered the key aspects of these headphones: The quality is good, and they are very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The purpose of this review is to call out a feature that I particularly like as a parent: The cord is removable and replaceable. I bought these headphones for my 16-year old son, who goes through headphones at a frightening pace. The failure is always at the same place, namely where the cord enters the headphones. With the Q40s, the cord has a standard plug on both ends. This means that the connection is much more durable than with other headphones, and also that the cord can be replaced cheaply if it does wear out. Great design!

One other note: The other end of the cord is a standard 1/4 inch plug, but if you unscrew it you'll find a standard micro stereo plug. At first my son and I both missed this, because it's a screw-off rather than a pull-off connector.

This is my second pair, the reason im on my second is because when i bought them the first time i thought the cord was messed up so i sent them back, and received a new pair, when you plug them in the headphones, make sure you screw them in, its no just a push in, you must screw them in, the bass is beautiful as well as the sound, a smiled the moment i heard the bass, the cord is a little longer than i want, but thats not a big deal, i just use a piece of string and tie them shorter. i also read reviews of people talking about how the cords mess up and they cant get a replacement, so i bought the alternate replacement cord already, so im await them, and being prepared for anything. great headphones, i would recommend

I bought a pair of M-audio av40's and that is what got me to notice the brand. I picked up these headphones after hearing wonderful reviews over at head-fi.org, and i can tell you that you will not be disappointed. I am a basshead and love listening to reggae and rap and hip hop as well as dubstep and the like and i can tell you these are just magical. The bass is wonderful, they squeeze your head enough so they don't move around, a lot of people complain about it but i personally really like it. The ear cups are not very comfortable because they are so shallow, i ordered a pair of ear pads from beyerdynamic that are for the dt-770 and i will tell you they are a must buy. While i waited though i got used to the stock pads and i honestly don't mind them much at all, though the replacements are on a wholenother level. I don't want to say "for the price you cant go wrong" screw the price man you just cant go wrong period if you buy these.

Reviewers have a wide range of opinion regarding this keyboard, with some claiming it is terrific and others that it is awful. This note attempts to reconcile these different claims and help potential buyers make the best decision.

1. The YPT-310 is functionally identical to the earlier model YPT-300. The new model changes simply made the device more environmentally friendly ("greener").

2. The YPT-310 is not a piano. A piano doesn't need batteries or an adapter that plugs into an outlet. If you are willing to pay thousands of dollars, you can purchase a piano that produces wonderful sounds, and the key action has a good feel. On the other hand, pianos take up a lot of room. They need to be regularly tuned. They are sensitive to humidity and temperature. Eventually a piano will need to be repaired. The sound you create on a piano can bother your neighbors. In addition, pianos produce only one kind of sound, that which is generated by hammers striking strings. (Some people have done bizarre things to pianos, such as putting tacks into the hammers, but most of us are not going to make these modifications).

Pianists who have played a great deal of piano music, who have no interest in expanding their palette of musical tone color, or who have neither the time nor desire to learn about the controls on a modern synthesizer are unlikely to be happy with the YPT-310. On the other hand, someone who appreciates the tone color of different instruments and is willing to invest a small amount of time learning about synthesizers, will find that this keyboard opens up a whole new world of musical possibilities.

3. Sustain Pedal (foot pedal). The sustain pedal allows the sound to continue after you release a key. This is critically important; without a sustain pedal, you have only half an instrument. This keyboard does not come with a sustain pedal; you will have to purchase it separately. The pedal costs very little, and the cheapest one (about $15) can be glued to a piece of wood to keep it from moving around under foot.

Note: when you power up the YPT-310, the keyboard software "assumes" the foot pedal is not depressed. If the sustain stops when you press the foot pedal, that means you had it depressed when you turned on the keyboard.

4. Sound Quality. There are three ways to produce sounds from the keyboard. You can use the speakers that are part of the device; you can use the headphone jack and the analog signal available there to externally produce sound; or you can use the MIDI interface to have external equipment generate sound based on key press characteristics. The YPT-310 is capable of producing fabulous sounds as well as horrible sounds. The following notes give further details and make some specific suggestions on how to produce the more pleasing sounds.

5. Speakers and Headphones. The built-in speakers have very limited bass response; that is, the low frequency sounds (sounds with a low pitch) are weak. Ironically, some of the most beautiful sounds the YPT-310 can produce are in this low frequency range. The violin (instrument 53), flute (instrument 84), and Vibraphone (instrument 101) are examples of this. In order to hear these sounds, rather than the poor imitation coming from the built-in speakers, you will need headphones or the ability to connect the headphone output jack to a more capable sound system. If you want to listen to some of the beautiful sounds this instrument is capable of, check out the 30 second samples of the music found on the Time album at The voices from the keyboard were sent via the headphone jack to a computer where they were mixed using multi-track software. Typical of professionally mastered CDs, post processing was performed on some of these tracks using software; for example, echo effects were sometime used and multiple tracks laid down to create ensembles. However, the instrumental voices heard on every single track were generated by this inexpensive keyboard. The quality of the 30 second samples isn't the best possible, since they are in MP3 format, but you will hear some amazing sounds if you are using headphones or a good speaker-driven sound system. 6. Listening Environment. Your music listening environment can dramatically change how the music is perceived. For example, most cars are not good places to listen to music, especially if you don't use headphones. If you are composing music, your sonic environment can also influence the content of your compositions.

7. "I Hate Synthesizers." There are some people who simply hate the sound of synthesizers; they often describe the sound as harsh, mechanical, or cold. In addition, there sometimes is an unnatural, high frequency component to the sound. I agree that some sounds from some synthesizers have these characteristics, and I will even agree that many of the sounds from the YPT-310 sound this way. However, I also found very pleasing sounds among its many voices. Even the sounds that are less than pleasing can be put to good use. I found that some voices, such as the bassoon, could be made warmer by using the built in dual voice function to add an accompanying string section. I also found other sounds that became important compositionally, even though they sounded cold as solo voices.

8. Finding Beautiful Sounds. Because of the way this synthesizer generates different notes based on a sound sample from a real acoustic instrument, the tone quality (sometimes called tone coloration or harmonics) can depend on the pitch of the note. This is also true of real acoustic instruments, the bassoon being a striking example. As I mentioned previously, the violin, vibraphone, and flute sound especially good in their low registers on this keyboard. The "Clavi," "Baritone Sax," and "Fretless Bass 4" voices do too. Some instruments sound best when played in a range that is higher than normal. For example, the Oud sounds like a sweet, tiny bell in its upper register. If you want to produce a variety of useful sounds, you have to be willing to explore the keyboard by sampling different voices in a variety of registers and other settings.

9. The Bottom Line. For around $150, this is an amazing instrument. It can be used to produce professional quality music, if its limitations are respected and its strengths taken advantage of.

I've been playing piano for over 40 years and greatly prefer a traditional piano over an electronic one. However, this keyboard is so outstanding in every way that I forget I'm playing a keyboard and find myself simply enjoying the music that comes out of it. The sound quality is excellent, the voices are fun to play with, and the touch is quite satisfactory. On top of that, it will record and play back and has midi capability. I'm extremely pleased with this keyboard.

I bought this keyboard for my kids. I am absolutely satisfied. It has more features I originally thought of. The method to practice is very intuitive. The sampled instruments sound great. This instrument is worth every dollar.

I've been really happy with my purchase of this particular keyboard. I wasn't in the market to spend enough money to get proper weighted keys. But, the touch sensitive keys on this keyboard are great. I like that it's a lot closer to playing the piano because the volume is sensitive to how hard I press the keys. It's not exactly like a real piano, of course. But, the price is right!

I freelance as an accompanist and help people out with studio recordings for demo CD's. This keyboard is what I use to practice at home, and it's definitely fine for that. The price and free shipping were great. Definitely the touch sensitive keys and natural piano sound is my favorite thing about this keyboard. I rarely change the default piano sound when I play. Some of the instrument sounds, like synth string and some of the bell sounds are nice. Most of it is just okay, but for this price, I'm happy with it.

Like most keyboards, the drum beats need work. The accompaniment with drums and bass line vary from okay to really hokey. IMO if you sing with it as a one man band, it won't sound good. You'd be better off with a good drum machine and this keyboard...or no percussion at all. A few of the drum beats are okay like the Ibiza, EuTrance, and Club Dance. Actually my favorite drum beat is the first (8BtModern) pop style. Maybe someday they'll re-create/sample some usable pop drum beats from today's songs and do away with the samba, tango, mambo beats, etc.

As with any e-keyboard, the action of the keys is easier than a real piano. Also, with only 61 keys, forget doing long arpeggio's. But the space, weight and cost savings make this a good option for many. For an inexpensive keyboard, I'd definltey recommend this Yamaha.

This guitar is worth more than what you pay for. I have to warn that amplifier is not a good one in this package. It emits weird noises intermittently. Best thing for a budding guitarist.

This Squier is actually a well-made guitar, and sounds pretty good. I'm a casual guitar player though, maybe 2 hours a week. I'm guessing a serious player, in a band or otherwise, may quickly want to move on to a better model. But for the price this is great for the occasional player or 15 year old.

Mine also came with a nice guitar bag, tuner, strap and amp. The amp is really quite loud, and sounds good to my ears. Comes with cord, headphone and aux inputs. I've even played my ipod through it once or twice.

I really have zero complaints with it all. I got everything in excellent shape at a garage sale for twenty dollars. That's what you call "right place at the right time".

Overall I cant complain I knew i was buying a cheap guitar and apm. To make it sound better take amp and throw it in the trash. Buy a better tube amp and get a multi effects pedal. The guitar is worth the money your paying but the amp is pretty bad. ( thats not in a good way ). With the proper amp and effects you can play anything you want. This guitar and amp out of the box has its limits. If you think your gonna play Van Halen Eruption forget it. but with the right amp and effects you can.

The metronome is extremely easy to use and have enough functionalities for the need of a new piano learner like me. The volume is adjustable, and can be turned off and show LED blinks only. I particularly like the compact design, which also function perfectly as clip for my piano books.

I am fairly satisfied with this purchase. While it's extremely compact, fairly inexpensive, and has a decent variety of functions, it's practical use is only when using a drumpad or other simgle milder tones (as oppose to a drum set or instrumental ensemble). The sound easily gets drowned out and does not carry well (I would liken the sound tothe beep of my digital running watch's alarm).

Overall I would say it is a great tool to begin rhythm basics during practice, but a louder metronome should be considered to accompany actual instruments when composing or preparing for a performance.

I purchased this item to help set a cadence in my golf swing, on the recommendation of a friend who had tried the method. This metronome is easy to use, very portable (even has a clip so you can clip it to your belt), and loud enough for you to hear but not so loud as to be a nuisance to others who might be close by. Additionally, it is durable and is a relatively inexpensive item that has been reliable. Using this has helped my golf swing tempo, also.

This Seiko Metronome is actually both light, easy to use, and does exactly what is labelled. However, there is one issue that a lot of people have noticed. I use this to run with (evolution running) and 180 bpm is what is called for. This does that but can be very LOUD. In fact the quietest setting is still very loud. Solution? 1) open up the clip and locate the speaker output. 2) put a 1cm piece of tape on the speaker opening. Voila! Now you have 4 new quieter settings. The only thing I would ask for is a headphone jack, but thats just asking a lot.

The 3 tiny screws that you have to take off in order to change the battery are hard to reach. I managed to take one off but the second one was scrapped perhaps because the screwdriver did not go in exactly the perpendicular position. The third screw is even harder to reach because the clip is in the way. I will go somewhere to find a better tool, otherwise the device will be useless :-(

Great piece of equiptment, love it, just recently got into DJing in September and am now going to be doing tons of gigs that are lined up for my already in the future. The thing I like about this mixer is that it's very sturdy, you can smack that crossfader and it won't break. I'd recomend this product to anyone. If you're going to buy this pick up a V7 or two, they go with it line up with them and run smoothly with them, and they are a perfect pair. I got my x5 just the other day and at $200 on amazon, I got to say that it's spot on. The faders are magnificent, the build is great, the eq's and sound are pretty good.

All in all a GREAT battle mixer and one of the best on the market for $200.

I bought this for about $280 6 months ago and it was the best mixer for the money. But at nearly $200 more now, there may be other options out there for you. However, this is a very excellent, no frills mixer.

Well built product. Hamster switch (or Reverse Mode Mixing) was a big draw for me for scratching and being able to change the slope of the fade is nice when I'm mixing.

I love the simplicity of it. I'm just having fun with DJing and if you're looking for something that's going to last you at a good price, this is it.

These headphones are the same as the HD 280s but they have a high quality boom mic. They sound fantastic with a frequency response range of 8hz to 25khz.

As far as the wiring on these, be aware that the cable does not come terminated, but with a little patience you can easily do it yourself! I have mine configured to use two 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo [TRS] jacks so it plugs straight into my computer sound card. There is no need to hook an amplifier up to the microphone, it doesn't need anything extra.

Here is how I wired mine up, in case anyone wants to try but is unsure of how to do this.

Your standard TRS connector is =[Sleeve][Ring][Tip]> On the side you solder to, the innermost piece is the tip, the sleeve is the outermost piece.

For the headphones use TRS:

Tip -> Left Channel (red +)

Ring -> Right Channel (white +)

Sleeve -> Ground (blue and black -)

For the Mic use TRS:

Tip -> Input (yellow +)

Ring -> Nothing

Sleeve -> Ground (green -)

Have you ever bought a pair of headphones and had them show up in the package with just bare wires hanging out of the end of the cable? Well, that is what you will get if you hit "Purchase" on this item from Amazon. That is the way it is sold here. You will basically receive headphones that you CANNOT USE without buying two separate plugs and a soldering gun. Other sites sell the same model but specify: "HMD 280 terminated with a 3-pin XLR connector, and 1/4" headphone plug." which is what I wanted and assumed I was getting (note there is no mention of this version being unterminated in the product description).

I am sure these are probably great headphones. I wish I could use them.
