I use this for my portable DJ set up.I run a Windows based Laptop with Virtual DJ Pro. It separates each virtual decks into a right and left channel that I plug into a mixer via RCA cables. It provides full, clean sound with absolutely no lag. I have used this card for a couple of parties, it's small and runs off the USB port on my computer, so all I have to do plug it in and I am ready to go.

I wish it had XLR outputs though, so I could connect it directly to my JBL IONs without an external mixer. It's still a great value for the price.

I was researching about a good audio interface for my laptop since I'll DJ in small/medium parties. and I'm glad I picked the Numark DJ I/O. is a good quality device and easy to setup with VDJ pro software. All I have to do was to install the CD software for the drivers (Win XP Pro),plug it via usb to my laptop, configure VDJ software, plug it to my speakers and voila! great sound and good performance. I bought this a week before I switched to Windows 7. I was using it on Windows Vista Business 64bit and it worked great along with Traktor Pro, however, it doesn't seem to like Windows 7 at all. This could just be a Traktor problem, but all my drivers are up to date and such. When it did work, the sound quality was amazing. I reformatted last night to Windows 7 64bit and have yet to try it out, but I hope it works better than it did on 32bit. If you can it to work, then it is a great product that I would highly recommend. I have many friends that use this, and the week I did have it working it was amazing.

I purchased this unit and it was several weeks before I had a chance to use it.

1. The software would not install.

2. I downloaded the newest version of software from Newmark and it installed fine.

3. There is no output from the RCA output jacks.

In order to get tech support from Newmark you fill out an online form and wait 24-72 hours for a response. I have done this 3 times and have not received any response from them.

In the meantime, 30 days have passed and I have lost the opportunity to return the unit.

I called the Newmark online store (you can buy from them, but I did not) and explained the situation. They told me they would put me through to their tech support. I waited on-hold for 25 minutes and every 30 seconds listened to a recorded message saying that I could go to their website for help www dot ionaudio dot com. Newmark does not even support their own product!

After 25 minutes I talked to a person who said that they don't actually provide support but would take my name and number and have someone call me. I asked what would happen if I was not home when they called "You will need to call this number back again."

This is nuts.

I called Newmark and talked to a customer service rep, told him about the experience and asked if they could replace the unit. He said they would not. When I asked why not he said, "Because you didn't buy it from us. You gave your money to someone else." I was boiling by this point. I replied, "You don't stand behind your product if it is bought from one of your retailers?" He said, "Of course we do. I can connect you with technical support."

"Will it be the same technical support I was connected to last time, waited on hold for 25 minutes, then told someone would call me back, but if I miss the callback I have to start all over again?"

"Yes."

Make your own decision. I will never ever again consider buying a Newmark product.

These headphones seem like they were made to boost bass...which automatically disqualifies them from being called monitor headphones. Everything else is great. I have these headphones and am astonished at how low the price is for them because of all the headphones I have to include Sony MDR 600 and Senheiser and even Grado, these sound the best. The Grado's lack bottom and the others lack depth, but the Nadys have it all and are super clear and airy. They are a bit big and Frankenstein looking in their design and the center element can rub the cen ter of the ear annoyingly with long wear, but again the sound is tops. They look like professional studio headphones and fit tightly. I would have expected them to go for above $100 at least.

Sounds great when doing studio monitoring. They are more accurate than I thought for the price; especially for open back.

I bought these headphones specifically because they are open back and have a fair amount of good reviews on the net. I use the headphones to play guitar through my Line 6 POD HD. I've used these headphones maybe 4 times since I purchased them and the right headphone has blown out. I get constant rattling and buzzing with any bass. I have several other pairs of closed back headphones of varying quality that I have been using over the past several years for the same purpose and none of them have blown out. I'm past warranty period and now have a useless pair of near new headphones.

Firstly, don't be turned off seeing that very few people have rated this product. The truth is that, if you look around for a PCMCI audio card in audiophile sites and stores, you will see this product reviewed exceptionally well. The average Joe only goes for the commercial hype and don't know of any venerable professional audiophile products.

Let me put one thing straight. If you decide to pay for this product, you better be having some good quality headphone (and i don't mean a Bose :-).. for all those who think Boss is any good..) like Grado, some higher end Sennhieser, Koss, Etymotics, Sure, etc. Because if you don't, you may be disappointed with this sound card. The analogy is if you have a bad eyesight and you are viewing a girl from 20 feet, it wouldn't matter if she got pimples on her face or not, you won't make any difference. What an excellent product. It's intuitive, not too combersome and it really makes a difference in the way mobile PC sound plays into external audio equipment. I like the analog volume control, it's really easy to adjust the output level. Other cards have a GUI that is not as easy to use or locate on the fly. As far as the performance, it's definately the best I have used so far.

I have owned this particular sound card for about 5 years now. I use it on my Toshiba Satellite laptop to play amplified music. This is an extremely good sound card that is not too difficult to use. I run this card with my Virtual DJ Pro program to mix my music. I also own a pair of 15" JBL EON speakers that sound great with this card. For those of us that can't blast the speakers late at night, I use a set of Sony MDR-V700 headphones that can make your ears hurt with the amount of power coming from this card (save your hearing). Saw the negative comments made toward one reviewer above and that convinced me to get one. I am annoyed by purist snobs. I had been looking for a portable keyboard just to practice with and for my church youth choir to use. I have played on several very beautiful grand pianos over the years in the Boston area. Keyboard arrived today and I give it high marks for portability and appearance. The tone is superb, BUT the on-board speakers do not do it justice. Very thin sounding, lacking bass and some midrange. So, I played it through my Peavey keyboard amp, closed my eyes (had the amp facing away from me, slightly in front of the keyboard), and you could not convince me that I was not sitting back at a grand piano. Bottom line: before you judge any digital sound product, consider the equipment you are using for output. Any digital keyboard will sound better with better equipment if the samples it has are good. In this case a $150 keyboard amp allows for the beautiful sampling to come through. I am sure when I patch it through our new church sound system, either directly or by miking the amp it will be amazing.

So, does this sound like a real grand piano? Not out of the box. But it does with a decent keyboard amp or good headphones. I recommend the Peavey KB1 for at home, but not less than the KB2 for performance or larger spaces. Very rich sound, and of course then the responsiveness is enhanced as well. I did see someone comment on other keyboards of this type that their fingers can stick to the plastic keys. Easy solution for this: furniture polish on the keys. Just wipe it down once or twice and the keys will feel and play much better without sticking to you. Plus it makes the keyboard smell nice, like lemons.

The keys are not weighted, but rather are of varied resistance. I prefer weighted keys, but these are not bad. Close enough to be much, much better than non-resistive keys.

I would highly recommend this product for those looking for a very realistic piano sound but are willing to use at least a basic keyboard amp or high quality headphones to get that sound. It is much more enjoyable to play with a small amp. I personally do not think you get good speakers on these keyboards until you get close to the thousand dollar range, so another $150 bucks for a KB1 (or a used keyboard amp for probably less than $100 at a local music store) is not too bad. I'd say this sounds better with a cheap amp than ones costing more than twice as much with just speakers.

As always, whenever you can, go to your local music store and try out different keyboards and keyboard-amp combinations.

Addendum: we just used this keyboard and the small Peavey amp for our church talent show in a hall that seats 400, with about 250 in attendance. I had to turn the amp and keyboard down to half because it projected so well. There was no need to connect it to the PA system. This was an impressive test and judging by the applause after the various piano acts, people were pleased. I stood in various places during the show, and the piano was crystal clear with some nice bottom. I could see that a larger space would need a larger amp to get more of the bottom out, but here it is fine.

-A lightweight keyboard that I can carry 7 blocks on my way to church.

-Something that doesn't have "marshmallow" keys that just pop back up when you press them.

-Something that will sound ok hooked up to a cheap sound system.

-Bass notes to fill out the sound.

-Target price of $300

Here's what I really want:

-Weighted, full-sized keys (these are neither, though they have some resistance).

-A rich, full-bodied acoustic sound (get real, this is a keyboard)

-The closest I could possibly get to a piano in keyboard form without spending all of my savings (I'm a recent college grad, cut me a break).

I realized what I needed would trump what I wanted, since my budget was so low.

So, I read a lot of reviews last night and decided to purchase this from Guitar Center today. My sales guy was helpful and got me a $30 discount.

Pros:

-It is lightweight, although carrying it 7 blocks will still be a challenge for little ol' me.

-Has a decent feel to the keys. It's better than some cheaper yamaha's I've played where you just keep hitting wrong notes because the keys are so tiny and flimsy.

-The touch-sensitivity (quiet when pressed lighter, louder when pressed harder) is nicer than I've experienced in some other keyboards. I've played others where this feature was a nightmare when you are used to playing on an acoustic piano.

-I read in other reviews that this product does well hooked up to a sound system. Our church's sound system is not great, so I'm not sure what to expect. I'll try to update after Sunday.

-Guitar center's 30-day return policy.

-Battery powered (AA), which I think is pretty cool.

Cons:

-The plastic has a pretty fragile (read: cheap) feel to it, and that makes me nervous when I think about transporting it.

-Doesn't come with the AC adapter, which I think is a money-hungry business move. Apparently it doesn't work with the same adapter as some of the older Yamaha's that I have.

-I don't really care about the extra sounds it offers besides Grand Piano/Electric Piano, but I wish that since there are only 5 (plus a variation of each, so really, 10), that they would have traded the harpsichord for more electric piano sounds.

-It doesn't fit in the case I was planning to use (although that doesn't apply to you guys...)

-I'm not thrilled about the "auto-off" feature, and I wish it could be disabled. I would like the keyboard to stay on the setting I've put it on while I play at church. We play one song and then the second set of songs is 45 minutes later, meaning I'll have to turn it back on and make sure it's set to whatever sound/variation I would like to use.

-The power button is tricky. It's hard to tell how long to hold it to turn it on/off

Overall, if you have to go cheap and still want a decent feel/sound, this is the way to go.

I absolutely love this keyboard. I've had it for about a week now, and it is so much better than my old one. I am not a musician who plays out or anything. I'm just a novice who enjoys learning songs, so this piano is perfect for me. I have played on many real pianos, and this is a very satisfying substitute. I highly reccomend it!

The only thing that I do not like it is beacuse the batteries discharge very quickly, and when they do, the piano still works but the speakers sound like the speakers don't work fine. After send it to warranty they told us everything was ok, in the meanwhile we recived the AC Power Adapter and since then everything is perfect.

We move around a lot and our last place did not have room for a traditional piano. We sold our old piano and I got myself this as a replacement. I love, love it! With our old upright, we were always spending upwards of $200 to have it tuned all the time. With this, I don't have to worry about it, I can play anytime and it's in tune everytime. I love how it plays louder if you press the keys harder. Perfect size and portability for sound.

My first GA810 did not work at all so Amazon sent a replacement immediately. It worked OK when it arrived and then I set is aside while I finished a music room. When I plugged it in again it worked for about an hour total and then did what the first one did in that no sound was amplified regardless of the cables, instruments or knob positions. There is no warranty mentioned on their literature. Amazon asked me to call Sound Around (who supply these to Amazon) directly and they kept me on hold without ever answering my call beyond the initial transfer. I emailed them also with a high priority noting my problem and they ignored that entirely. Called Amazon back and they could not reach Sound Around's customer service either. Because it was outside of the 30 day Amazon guarantee they just said they would alert the team that deals with Sound Around that their customer service was an issue. I am stuck with a worthless amp and frustrated by non-existent customer service. Hope this is helpful to anyone considering this product.

This is an unbeatable product at this price point. No, it's not a Marshal/Peavy tube flame thrower from 1976, but it is a very nice practice amp, good beginner's amp, and a very solid item at a great price. The shipping is very fair. My son is learning to play and he and I have already enjoyed multiple hours of good times, good music, and great moments together. It has two inputs, and is dual channel although it is not advertised as such. A reverb. effect is an option. It is hard to make a mistake on this amp, unless you are planning to go on tour next week with Maroon Five...even then, they might have a couple of these babies on the bus! Very strong amp at the right price.

I just got one of these in for repair. Complaint was "no sound". Turned out every potentiometer that's every volume and tone pot was defective. The only one that worked was the "distortion" pot. Obviously they purchased a bad run. The bad news is the pots are cheap. The good news is the pots are cheap, commonly used in other amplifiers and available at everyone's favorite auction site for about a buck apiece.

The zener diodes regulating the analog supply were way off spec 16+ volts vs 12 volts and the dropping resistors were crazed.

The wires going to the speaker didn't use the standard quick-disconnect connectors. Instead they were wrapped around the terminals and poorly soldered so poorly soldered that they pulled right off.

The standoffs that secured the preamp PC board were makeshift and the wrong height so they actually warped the board slightly and stressed the connections to the pots and jacks.

I think we can assume the QC on these units is marginal.

Finally, the 800w spec is a crock. The actual spec ()is 80 watts RMS and 800w peak. That's impossible. The no-load power supply voltage is +/30v. With that supply voltage and an 8 ohm speaker the absolute maximum peak power is 112 watts and the RMS is 56 watts. To get the 80 watts RMS you'd have to either connect it to a 143 volt AC power line or replace the speaker with a 4 ohm unit. Neither is recommended.

The only way this thing is going to put out 800 watts, peak or otherwise, is if it gets struck by lightning.

I bought this for my 7 y.o. daughter to hook her micropohone and electric guitar up to. She loves to make music and this is definitely a hit. Sounds pretty good (not as good as the Fender I use, but it's a lot less $), and the best part is the full set of dual inputs. That'shard to find in this price range, and almost impossible in an amp with this much kick. She loves it, I could afford it, and we are happy.

...However, there is still the matter of the loose bit of something rattling around inside it. You see, it came in the manufacturer's box, and that is not the problem. The folks at Amazon put the big (36 lb!) box it came in into a bigger box and did not use anywhere NEAR enough packing material to stop it from shifting around a LOT during shipping. The big box was almost completely destroyed and had in fact burst wide open (only a single strip of tape held it together on both the top and the bottom--woefeully inadequate) before it made it to me due to the terrible packing job Amazon did. The fact that I took it out of the box, plugged it in and it worked fine is testament alone to the fact that this must be a decent unit (no idea what the rattling thing inside the amp is--it is only evident when you pick it up and tild it... then you hear it roll...).

Reccomended item, but I hope yours ships in better packaging than mine did. Good value for the price.

Overall there are very nice headphones, but like other reviewers have said they can be tight. At first they are really tight but by leaving them stretched out on something like a computer case overnight they gradually loosen up. I have found that if you don't leave them stretched out every night they return their original position. Also after wearing them for 3-4 hours they can start to irritate your ears. For the price paid and sound quality you get I can easily recommend them to someone else, just be weary how you store them.

I've owned several higher priced headphones than the Sennheiser HD 205-II Studio Grade DJ Headphones. But let me tell you, these sound right up there with the pricier sets. I originally bought the HD 205-II to use around town on the bus, walking, and at my favorite donut joint rather than using my pricier DJ phones for fear of me walking off without them or someone swiping them. I am now wondering, in terms of sound, what is the difference in my real DJ phones and the Sennhesier HD 205-II headphones. I'm sure there is a difference, but heck, I cannot tell the difference in sound. This set offers lots of thumping bass, wonderful mids, and silky highs. They are a little snug initially, but they loosen up after a few wears. The truth be told, the ONLY reason I'm not replacing my pricier gig Headphones, with the HD 205-II is because of the thin LONG cord of the Sennheiser. I'm afraid that the cord is too long and not sturdy enough to last during a rough DJ set. Please don't mistake that as a CON, it's just that I do a lot of moving around when I'm spinning. Bottom line, I am VERY HAPPY on my purchase of these headphones to use as an extra pair of headphones on my daily runs. If you are border line about getting these, don't be, YOU WILL HIGHLY ENJOY the look, sound, and quality of the Sennhesier HD 205-II Studio Grade DJ Headphones!!!!!

As the two other reviews have said, they tend to smoosh your ears in a way, but to fix that you just simply need to adjust them and break them in. Possibly replace the cushioning with something of your choice that you feel would be softer and better for comfort. All I had to do was adjust the length bar on the two sides for each ear. I may replace padding, but I think that if I find something softer, more sound will leak. So if you have the option, try on a pair at a store before purchasing just to be sure. As for as sound quality, yes bass is a little on the low end but I've had mine for only 2 days now, and I'm still waiting for them to officially burn it a little more. I found out that the little things added from a synthesis or dj, the little sound effects, I'm only clearly hearing them for the first time. I went to these from skullcandy earbuds. Obviously, my review will be positive since I haven't had any others before, but I have used Sennheiser before when playing counter-strike, using the PC150's. Anyways, Sennheiser is a brand that you can trust to deliver the best of the best.
