I am obsessed with the retractable earbuds for working out. I bought a $20 pair of Sony's, after my Emerge went out, and they were terrible. The sound was great, but they were not retractable and they would fall out of my ears, get caught on the machinery, etc. So, I bought these thinking my old Emerge had pretty good sound, so should these. The sound is terrible, but the concept is genius.

Does anybody know of a retractable set of earbuds that does not sound terrible? Please Help!!!!

March 14th Cont........I found them. Get the iblasters. Just got them in today and they are so much better.

I used these with my laptop. The sound was very tinny with a weird echo and actually gave me a headache. I would not recommend them.

These earbuds have every feature I could want. They retract smoothly and easily so that I am not fiddling with wires. They sound good and the buds are comfortable with several sizes to choose from. They are light so I don't notice the weight of the hub. I have purchased 3 pair now and keep them attached to the ipods so I don't lose them. I have yet to wear a pair out and I use them daily. They are actually hard to find except on Amazon so stock up!

The earbuds are not what you see on the picture. The earpiece is not like that of a stethoscope. The item I received had a drum like diaphragm maybe about the size of a dime that had a rubber rim. It did not fit in my ear. Sound was tinny and metallic.

At least returning to Amazon wasn't bad. Emails were confusing because if you email more than once, anyone can answer you and it's like starting from scratch even if they're messages are polite. Phone contact was great. Instant response, friendly. Got my refund promptly, less one cent for some reason.

Bought 2 of the RETRAK's thinking it is a novel idea. The straight attachment at the 3.5mm end on both are now broken. I guess from the "wringing" action.

Notice the newer ones have a 90 degree attachment. Have not tried, didn't want to invest again.

This was a terrible product. I was not able to get sound after a day. The flashing light that came on for the short bit of time it worked was really annoying. The earbuds are terrible. And I am sending it back for a refund. Do yourself a favor and do not buy this.

I have Turtle Beach headphones with mic excellent but too hot for me. I like the Sony MDR W24 headphones but no mic.

I haven't tried the earbuds that come with it because I don't like earbuds.

It replaces the soundcard, so you must go into control panel and change it to the USB sound card on the unit. The sound quality is good and the mic sound check picked up a near whisper with good sound quality also.

To me the LED light is annoying so I covered it as I have plugged into the front panel.

Overall it is very good, the earpiece not very comfortable for long use (you can change your better earphone) but it has a very short cord to attached very nicely to the mike, which you clip to your collar.

SUBJECTIVE REVIEW: Behringer MS16 2-Way Active Personal Monitor System

Pros:

Accuracy, soundstage & imaging!!

Connectivity & Front Panel Controls (Right CH Speaker):

.... INPUT 1 (1/8" TRS) Connector

.... INPUT 2 (RCA Right & Left) Connectors

.... ADJUSTABLE 1/4" TRS Microphone Input mixable w/stereo inputs for playback and vocal monitoring applications

.... 1/8" TRS HEADPHONE Connector w/auto-mute loudspeaker function.

.... FRONT PANEL Controls (Bass, Treble & Level)

Cons:

None except deep bass which can be resolved by adding a powered-sub like I did!!! ;-)

NOTE: All subjective comments based on:

1) SPEAKER LOCATIONS:

.... a) Free-standing near-field monitor location, 4' apart, slightly tilted-in (closes walls 10') Music by my Polaroid 30 GB MP3 player (NO powered-sub )

.... b) Keyboard: L & R location installation, slightly tilted-in (with & without Altec Lansing FX2021 powered-sub**)

**NOTE: Adding a powered-sub relieves the Behringer MS16 4" woofer speakers of reproducing the lower frequencies thus lowering the possibility of distortion or breakup when played louder, 85 dBc to 90 dBc Fast SPL Peaks!

2) Critical listening SPL = approx. 85 dBc to 90 dBc Fast SPL Peaks measured @ 8' to 10' away from the speakers.

.... a) Radio Shack SPL Analog Meter: Dial = 80 or 90 / Weight = C / Speed = Fast

ACCURACY:

One of the Behringer MS16 hallmarks is the accuracy in reproducing encoded musical sounds from my MP3s, ... like, a violin sounds like a violin, a trumpet sounds like a trumpet, a tenor sax sounds like a tenor sax, a Grand Piano, like the Grand Piano that Diana Krall uses in her "Live in Paris" CD (I use to own a 6' Yamaha Grand in my HT/family room), etc. What is unusual for this price range, is the MS16 ability to reveal subtleties and the resolution of the high frequency characteristics within the encoded music/instruments, . . . they are just more evident with the Behringer MS16 vs. other speakers in this price and some costing more; i.e. with close mike recording of an acoustic guitar, you can hear the artist fingers (George Benson; Earl Klugh; Russ Freeman) sliding up and down the frets; you can tell that that two violins are playing a melodic line, rather than just one violin; the air harmonics off the crash or ride cymbal sounds, just like our Tama Rock Set w/Zildjian cymbals; Diana Krall breathing during some of her songs Intro ("Live in Paris" Music CD). Here I do chalk up the sound quality to Behringer MS16 1.5" (38mm) Diameter High-Resolution Tweeter., which is a nice size for a small personal Studio near-field Monitors.

SOUNDSTAGE:

The left to right placements of instruments & voices are excellent, providing a precise, very wide, beyond the speakers soundstage. The Behringer MS16 front to back (depth) soundstage is also excellent, as well as the dynamic's resolution (soft vs. loud) in playing back the encoded instrument sounds which helps provide excellent location placement of the instruments. Though the front to back soundstage can be a result of how close the microphones were to the instruments, no doubt, the quality of the best recordings, will be revealed by this speaker and the opposite is also true, poor recordings will be revealed as poor. The Behringer MS16 plays back all my Jazz CD Music with relative smoothness, with no surprising in-between the eyes, unnatural frequency peaks because of it's super flat & wide Pro Monitor like frequency characteristics. I also own the JBL N24 w/4" woofers (JBL NSP1 PKG) which was raved by Brent Butterworth for its super midrange playback (voices) and in direct comparison, the Behringer MS16 is equal to task providing the same balanced, natural, clear unstrained playback! (Samples: "Francis Albert Sinatra & Antonio Carlos Jobim" 1967 Digital remastered DDD Music CD; Diana Krall "Love Scenes" & "The Look of Love" Music CD; Bob James "Fourplay" Music CD; David Benoit "Fuzzy Logic" Music CD [Album Of The Year 2003 National Smooth Jazz Awards], etc.).

IMAGING:

Another characteristic that the Behringer MS16 displays is its ability to image the specific instruments across the soundstage, with a floating in front, side, quality sound presence comparable to some JBL PRO Studio Monitors, though its point source is more precise due to the smaller cabinet side. The Behringer MS16 low-diffraction front cabinet geometry feature curved cabinet edges to eliminate diffraction, which ensures precise imaging and localization. I love the Behringer MS16 ambience reproduction in my room, because it gave me the feeling that "you are there" and if the recording is from a live concert, the ambience provided the right amount of reflections to make you think your listening to the performance outdoors, or in the symphony hall. ("The Corrs Live at the Royal Albert Hall" Music CD; Diana Krall "Live in Paris" Music CD).

BASS FREQUECY:

WITHOUT POWERED-SUB: (Bass adjusted slightly less than MAX @ the 5 o'clock position / Treble left flat)

The Behringer MS16 bass is rated down to 80 Hz, and after adjusting the Bass Control to near MAX (5 o'clock position), ... it easily matches my JBL 24s (Benchmarked down to 89 Hz -2.7 dB Fronts location by Tom Nousaine for Sound & Vision Magazine) lowest rated frequency reproduction in my familiar jazz music (David Benoit, Bob James, Joe Sample, Diana Krall, etc.) MP3 encoded music is not as demanding as a keyboard or CD (pure digital recordings), so what I hear was more than acceptable @ 85 dBc Fast SPL Peaks! (louder than normal listening). The deep bass is lacking of course, which is expected for a 4" DIA woofer, but it wasn't MIA and actually sounded better than most free-standing speakers w/4" or 5" woofers. The upright bass (Diana Krall) and electric bass lines (Bob James "Fourplay" w/Nathan East on bass) reproduction was way above average and overall, ... it nicely filled my 20 x 30' room with well balanced, clean & smooth frequency jazz music.

WITH POWERED-SUB YAMAHA PORTABLE GRAND KEYBOARD:

Reproducing a digital keyboard is demanding so to get that floor & air feeling bass SPL without distortion or breakup, I coupled the Behringer MS16 Speakers w/the Altec Lansing FX1021 2.1 Speaker System, or more specifically, Altec Lansing FX4021 Powered Subwoofer (w/Two 5.25" long-throw woofers in isobaric configuration). This unit is rated down to 32 Hz and takes care of the lower frequency duties. Matching the Altec Powered-sub to the MS16s took about 20 mins. using the Keyboard built-in MIDI DEMO files and by playing it personally! I'm finally happy with what I hear from my Yamaha DGX-505 88-key Portable Grand.

THE BOTTOM LINE:

If you want "budget" monitors that provides excellent imaging, revealing resolution, super flat & wide Pro Monitor like frequency characteristics, the Behringer MS16 is for you! At no time during my critical listening phase (w/85 dBc 90 dBc Fast SPL Peaks) did I hear any distortion or breakup (with or without powered-sub) from my Behringer MS16 speakers!!!

Although the following is an OPTION & NOT REQUIRED to ENJOY these powered speakers, you can add a powered-sub to round out the lower frequency foundation and once you balance the SPL between the powered-sub & MS16s, ... you've got a very nice killer setup for MP3, PC, Laptop, Keyboard & near-field Home Studio application @ a very reasonable price!

In my case, I'm guessing, that the Behringer & Altec powered-sub combination for my Yamaha Portable Grand Keyboard frequency response is approx. 40Hz 18kHz ±5 dB in my 17' x 13' living room (see my attached Amazon photo's) and for the price, ... it just sounds GLORIOUS @ 85 dBc 90 dBc Fast SPL Peaks!!!

Highly Recommended!!! (Another way to think about it is, ... you can't build a 16 Watt [2x 8 Watts] self-powered speakers like this for under $60 a pair!!!)

i bought these speakers to carry round with my laptop when i go to friends. when i first tried them i thought the resonance on the upper bass was terrible, but then i tore up a shirt and stuffed cotton down the bass ports to dampen the bass resonance. now they sound quite good for a portable monitor speaker. i don't think i could have got better for the price. i wouldn't recommend them as a home studio monitor but as a portable monitor, they're good value if you tackle the problem of excessive bass resonance. i understand that the bass resonance is supposed to compensate for the lack of bass due to the speakers being small, but it's better to have a clear sound than boomy distorted bass at a single resonant frequency.

Very good little speakers for the price. I purchased these to use as computer speakers because of the option to mix in two sources, as I use two PC's at my desk and enjoy the ability to get sound from both out of the one pair of speakers. I was slightly disappointed that there is no option to adjust the level of the two inputs independently.

The audio quality, however, does not disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised by the power as well as the good high and low range response. I would recommend them over any similarly priced set of computer speakers. The bass response is comparable to (and the mid-range and high end clarity far better than) any low or mid-priced 2.1 speaker setup I've seen, so don't worry about the lack of a sub woofer option. They also drive headphones very well, even really demanding ones like my Sennheiser HD-540 reference headphones, which require a lot of power.

I have a Yamaha P-155 piano, that has a very nice built in speaker system, but I wanted to try out with Garritan Steinway (Mac software piano).

Ever since my piano teacher was able to convince his ex-wife to give him back his pre-1900 Steinway C, I wanted to match "electronically" what he has.

So I hooked up my "Bose 201" Companion speakers and was ready to play.....UGH! This was nothing like what I heard. Was the software bad?.... or was the famed Bose speakers not up for the task? It turns out the Bose speakers are ok, with pre-recorded music, and thats about it.

On the hunt for a speaker that will physically sit the top of the Yamaha p-155, I came to these MS16.

To my surprise, they sound WAY WAY WAY better than the Bose 201. The advantage of the MS16 having a woofer and a tweeter helps over the Bose single driver.

The higher and midrange frequencies are very clean and accurate(my unprofessional opinion). The lower frequencies work sufficiently, but can be overworked with high bass music, or the lower notes on a piano. But, it works very well, otherwise.

Going back to my piano teacher's Steinway, figuring I got it made, I realized something was missing. That clean thundering bass that a real Steinway creates, was lacking back home.

To the rescue, I came across a Cyber Acoustics CA-3602 on sale at Staples. I was more interested in the sub-woofer. This $36 speaker system (gets great ratings), has a nice small sub, about 30 watts, perfect with (2) 8 watt Behringers. I liked the CA-3602, because you don't need to plug in the little speakers to turn it on, or adjust the volume....it has this blue hockey puck thingee for this. This sub only goes down to 50hz, but thats ok with me.

Off to Radio Shack for a 1/8" stereo mini splitter, and back home to connect the MS16 to the CA sub. Woohoo!

Now that the MS16's (sounds like a mexican gang?) are relieved of heavy bass duties (I set the bass controller down to 1/3 and treble up to 2/3), and carefully matching the bass of the CA sub's volume, I am able to achieve, a really nice (cheap) reproduction of a real Steinway. It is not a Steinway, but it sounds real nice for the $$$.

I just hooked these up to my PC (I have a Turtle Beach sound card in the PC) and I am blown away by how great these sound listening to MP3 files. Great bass and overall clarity about 1,000% better than the stock speakers I was using. Awesome sound, easy to hook up, they look great what more can you ask? I would buy another set instantly and highly recommend these speakers.

I did notice the hissing that another reviewer mentioned and was a little dismayed until I turned some knobs and realize the MIC level knob was creating the hissing. Once I turned it all the way down (I guess you would only use this if you had a microphone hooked up which I will never do) the hissing disappeared completely. Just an FYI for anyone concerned about hissing.

Great speakers you will be glad you bought these I most certainly am.

If you want to wire a device with female RCA audio jacks into something that has a male 3.5 mm earphone-style plug, this is a great choice. It has enough length to reach around a TV or through an entertainment center to the receiving device, and the metallic red plugs look very cool.

We're using this to wire the audio output from living room TV to a TaoTronics TT-BA01 Wireless Portable Bluetooth Stereo Music Transmitter. This has enough length that I can keep the 3.5 mm plug on the side of the TV and plug the bluetooth transmitter in as needed.

You can also go the other way if you want to play audio from an iPod or something else with a headphone jack into a speaker with RCA inputs, you could use this. Note that since the 3.5 mm plug is female, you would need something with a male output, or would have to add a male to male cable to get a signal from an iPod or something else with a female headphone jack.

No complaints and highly recommended.

I fortunately used to work for an audio visual store so I knew what to get. If you need to hook your mp3 player or computer (any devise that takes a 3.5mm cable) to a device with rca jacks (like alot of speakers used on some home theater speakers ) this is the cable to use.

I bought this to replace another product I purchased on Amazon from another seller to convert the RCA jacks on my HD TV in our exercise area to use a set of PC speakers and sub-woofer. That product did not connect well to the RCA jacks. This product was well-packaged, well-made, and made a solid connection to the RCA jacks. While I didn't need the 6ft cord between the RCA and min jack, it was nice to know if I want to move the TV, I have flexibility with this cord to do so.

This is just what we were looking for and couldn't find in local stores. We used the 3.5 mm female to 2 RCA male cable to connect headphones to a television that does not have a headphone jack by using the RCA audio output jacks on the back of TV. I was having one heck of a time finding a decent set of bluetooth headphones. I found the older Bluedio R headphones and almost pulled the trigger on purchasing them. Then I saw on their website the new R+ version. These come with Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and a little bit longer battery life. I was a bit hesitant to purchase from a brand I've never heard of, but wow. I received these last friday and they are amazing. I am no audiophile, but quality is great, bluetooth works perfect, nfc a bit gimmicky but that also worked as designed (tap phone to headphones and pairs instantly). I had also tried the Beats Wireless headphones, which were 100$ more than these, crappier audio, and smaller/tight on the head, those were returned right away. The Bluedio R+ headphones are extremely comfortable, they're a bit bigger than other headphones, but they don't weigh much at all. You forget they're on your head after an hour of rocking out. They also do a great job canceling out noise. There is alot of bass, but not to the point it muffles out sound. These also turn into a usb headphones when plugged in via the charging cable, which is useful when using on a laptop/desktop computer. I am so far happy with my purchase, great product, great build quality, would easily recommend these to anyone. They're worth a try, you'll love them.

I am absolutely STUNNED by this product. I could go upstairs and with no wires listening to my music leaving my Ipad mini downstairs. If you like bass, but not to much, Get these. I eq'd these using my Laptop's driver. everything boosted up I guess, lol it did the trick though. Also, I liked the function of the side controls especially. These feel very sturdy as even when you fold the pair they "lock" into place in and out. As an average consumer I am very pleased with this product. But, that is not all. May I warn you that the Noise cancelling isn't actual noise canceling, its really just noise isolation. Also, there is an amount of noise leakage that could maybe get you a bad reputation at the library. Also, these headphones are very comfortable to me, well, At least they are more comfortable than the ableplanet Linx audio Noise cancelling headphones. Plus, these cans include a carrying case, audio cable, and a usb cable to charge and update. The package includes a handy user manual. Besides the broken up english, good job on that part. May I also include that these headphones aren't the lightest and smallest headphones, meaning I wouldn't wear these outside if you don't want alot of attention and stares at your cans BUT, on the bright side you can still fold them. Also, (sorry for so many alsos :P) If you are more in for the best most accurate possible sound quality, look into the ATH M50s or the ATH PRO700s. Last but most definitely not least, is the amount of battery these cans have, It is very imprsessing. 24 Hours, correct me if I am wrong please. If you disagree with this review, feel free to comment. Thanks! :)

I will now include a pros and cons list.

Pros:

Battery life

Wireless

Foldable

Bassy (I like bass :P)

Durable

Side controls

Rechargeable

Microphone (I think)

Comfortable

Price is AMAZING

LED light notifications

Cons:

Quite large

NOT NOISE CANCELLING

Not the best case, I recommend getting a more protective case.

May be to bassy for some

Manual isn't the best

Is it just me hearing a buzzing noise in the background? please help! (may just be me)

Thank you for reading this review, I hope this helped!

Also, please keep in mind I am an AVERAGE CONSUMER.

The sound is really good, even better if you find an equalizer, they are conformable even after several hours of use, and easy to pair

Install a new firmware is quite an endeavor and had to spend several hours trying that the pc detect the device in the proper mode

The noise cancelling works just by covering your ears, not the active noise cancelling that was advertised but it works well for me

The battery life in my case is of around 20 hours of use

I am reducing 1 star because I notice that one of the sides is a bit louder ( something that I can adjust on a pc or phone), also, something else that I noticed is that the mic is not the good for phone calls, for some that may be a really bad thing, but I didnt intended to use it as a hands free so for me it is ok

Took the plunge and bought these and glad I did, fit is great and I have a fat head, they aren't too heavy, pairing was very easy, listening to SD card as I type this and it sounds great, has built in EQ for SD, if you like bass it has great bass almost too much but it doesn't fuzz out on you is clear bass, has different EQ for the Bluetooth that you can download at Bluedio web site, packaging is perfect, mine came with enough charge to try it but you'll need to charge it after that, the 8 track sound system sounds awesome, they do bleed some and the noise canceling is decent but not the best, over all this is a great pair of headphones for the money.

UP-DATE 9/20/2013

Have had these for a while now and thought I'd up date my review. I had given them four stars but not anymore. I still like the sound, the pairing and the fact that it has an SD card for listening, however the SD card has a couple issues that need to be attended to. I have sent three emails to Bluedio with absolutely no response, none, nada, zip, like they never got'em. The issues you can work around but I feel they should be fixed and can be fixed with software up dates, the issues being; #1 When you start up the SD card player the volume comes on as loud as possible, is deafening if you have them on, I found out the hard way and it almost hurt my ears. #2 When you start up the SD card player it always starts at the beginning with the first song. Neither the directions or the web site is any help. There is an upgrade at the web site but it doesn't specify what it is updating and it is frustrating to figure it out. You have to download a program of there's install it and then try and figure out the word doc(if you can get it to open), hook the headphones to your computer via USB and then try and install the firmware update and the EQ update and hope you didn't screw up your headphones so they don't work at all. I have not done any of the updates as yet, not sure if I will I'm scared I'll screw them up and not be able to use them at all and with Zero support well ... out $$$.$$. Now the other headphones, the Bluedio R is what my wife bought and they don't have these issues. Like I said you can work around the issues on the Bluedio R+ headphones but you shouldn't have to for the money you spend. I recommend them for the sound quality but don't recommend them for the support. I would return them but I have gone past my return date, looks like I keep'em whether I want them or not !!

Can't use them if the battery dies even with using the audio cable. You should be able to listen to music using the cable plugged directly in to the music source when the battery is dead. Of not for that than I would give 4 stars.

This is a great accessory for someone who, like me is a night owl. I seem to play my guitar alot after 11PM and this way, I can do so without bothering anyone else in the house. It has a very nice sound for something that you use with headphones and allows you to plug into your PC or MP3 player and play along with whatever music you want play along with.

I have found that it is quite battery friendly. I am still using the original batteries that came with it and have used it for at least an hour a day since I got it over a month ago.

The plug is bigger than I thought it would be it is about 3.25" x 1.5" x .75". Still it is a convenient enough size. The batteries last longer than I thought they would. I thought they might only last a few hours, but they last much more than that. The sound is good. My only complaint is that if you turn the volume all the way up and turn up the acoustic effect all the way up you get some unpleasant noise. If you back down either the effect or the volume though there isn't a problem.

I use the Honeytone amplifier Danelectro N10 HoneyTone Amplifier (Beatnik Burgandy) as a headphone amplifier most of the time because I would rather use a DC adapter than batteries, but this plug is a convenient thing when you don't want to be hindered by a cord and just want to play wherever you want.

If I ever lost it, I would definitely buy another.

The M-Duo's might seem pricey but are definitely worth the price! Compared to the iBeats, they ridicule them. They are great for any type of music from english to spanish. The dual drivers provide detailed mids and highs and clear, booming lows!! To get a better idea see my review! Overall mids/highs: 9/10 & lows: 10/10. Don't hesitate, buy them. You won't be dissapointed

When it comes to headphones, I'm *really* picky. I've owned 3 or 4 pairs of Skullcandys, a couple pairs of Shures, a few Sonys, a pair of JBuds, and even some Audio Technicas. But I've become a huge fan of MEElectronics. This relatively unknown name puts out great products at unbelievable prices. I own their M6, S6, M9, N9, and A121 and love them all. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses, as with any set of headphones, but the value they deliver has convinced me that the high price tag of bigger name-brands is high only because of the name.

Well, I broke down and decided to try out the M-Duo, since I love MEE and my dual-driver Shures were showing their age. To put it briefly, I'm blown away by these M-Duos. The dual driver gives them the incredibly deep and punchy bass of expensive Skullcandys or MEE's M9 model, while also reaching levels of clarity and crispness heard only in balanced armature models (like MEE's A121). The dual-drivers really do give you the best of both worlds. You don't have to choose between deep bass and great clarity, like you do with single-driver headphones.

Absolutely amazing.

And MEE includes loads of silicone tips, so it's easy to get the perfect fit and the best possible sound. The mic and remote work perfect with my iPhone and my MacBook.

And the packaging is really fancy and feels very high-dollar, if you're into that sort of thing. ;-)

Bottom line: I'd buy these dual-drivers before any Shure dual-drivers that'll cost you more than twice as much! I'm very, very impressed.

I'm an earphone addict always looking for my next new earphone high. Among many other mid priced earphones, I own the klipsch s4 and MEE151P which are really good headphones, but like any good addict I needed to step up to a great set of earphones with a mic/remote and dual drivers. The drivers are key components of good earphones and the more the better. High priced earphones like the shure se425 have dual drivers for $279, or the se525 with triple drivers at $469 but neither had the mic/remote. I needed a set with good cable wires because I use them throughout the day while working. The Sony's with 3 or 4 drivers were good options in the $200-$300 range, but reviewers were disappointed in the cable quality. I opted to give the M-Duo Driver a try due to the two dynamic drivers, great price, and my positive experience with the Mee151p.

As a college music major Im accustomed to listening for all sounds. The sound through all frequencies is spectacular. The instruments are well balanced and clean. The bass has a tight natural boom that is powerful and not exaggerated. They have the best "quality bass" I have heard from earphones. The higher the volume the more they come alive. The look, wires and construction is very good. I cant recall hearing and liking the sound of cymbals and drums sounding this good together through earphones. Because they are dynamic drivers (air moves the speaker) like concert speakers, I believe that contributes to a more natural sound over the balanced armature driver types (which is now a topic of debate).

I have not tried the $200+ earphones, and not certain I want to spend the extra $200-$400 only to find the sound isnt much better if at all (as many of those reviewers have stated). These earphones have cured my addiction for something better sounding. But I will be the first to buy a triple driver version whenever MEElectronics makes it. For now I'm perfectly content enjoying these great earphones---and I still cant believe are only $80.

I received these headphones a month ago and am extremely pleased with them. First off, as soon as you place them in your ears, they are comfortable to someone who has had problems getting earbuds in the past. Once you plug them in, the true pleasurable sound experience begins. The sound quality is amazing on these headphones. The bass and treble are so distinctively noticeable as rich sounding and blend together to provide an incredible listening experience whether you are listening to The Beastie Boys (Rap), Everclear (Alternative), Train (Pop), Foo Fighters (Hard Rock) or Five Finger Death Punch (Metal). Every nuance in the music is picked up by these headphones and relayed into your ears to give a clean, crisp sound. I have used these headphones on both my Samsung and Apple devices and are, by far, the best headphones I have ever purchased.

First off, I am not an audiophile in any measure, but I figured I listen to music a lot in my commute ard 2+ hrs round trip (in loud NYC subway) so why not treat myself with better headphones. Given I've broken two Monster Powerbeat (one within 1 month and another in 3 months), used Beat tour and lost both of my Shrue 110 and klipsch all in one week, I started off researching a new pair of headphones, somewhere south of the $200 range.

As I was doing my research, I read some of the reviews for MEElectronic. It markets itself as a budget brand, but with good sound quality. It has some good reviews from reputable sites for some of their signature headphones so I continued my research. Since I was trying to look for some higher price range headphones, I found this M-Duo Dual Driver as their latest model and started my comparison. I compared the specs and the reviews with other more popular brand like UE, Shrue, Monster, Westone, Klipsch.

Based on the paper, M-Duo's specs typically matches with the headphones of these above mentioned brand price rage in the ard $120-$180 range. I went and tried some of them in the stores and I just can't seem to find much of a difference in sound quality to justify the 1.5x or 2x the price diff for these other branded headphones in the same category.

As for the headphones itself:

Pros:

metal material headphones. very solid. and it doesn't give you the cheap plastic feeling as the other more famous brands do.

Bass is good enough (certainly not too much) for my hip hop music

the mid and high is surprisingly clear for my jazz and acoustic/live concert music (which the Monster and Shrue headphones with double the price range that I owned did not provided)

I like the L-shape headphone jack as I broke the two Powerbeat because the jack was straight up and it bends awkwardly when i put it in side my jean pocket (given the jeans are on the tight end)

Cons:

metal headphones makes it a bit on the heavy side, but not heavy as in they can't stay in your ears

since they're metal, the headphones tend to hit each other and scratch one another inside the pouch.

I wish the remote has the volume button

Bottom line: I am happy with my purchase. I dont' think you can find any dual driver headphones in this price range that gives you the sound quality that M-Duo does. You can always pay more for the more famous brands, but I tend to like the fact of telling ppl I paid 1/2 the price but got something with the same if not better quality to let them know brand is not everything.
