I always had to drive to a studio to record voiceovers for narrations and radio spots. Now I can do it at home. I was able to set up the MXL-Studio 1 mic in a quiet closet space (the generous 10-ft. USB cable helps) and the sound quality is almost as good as the studio.

I found that a pop filter is necessary. I use Apple's Soundtrack Pro (part of the Final Cut Pro suite) for recording and editing. It's a simple setup and works just fine.

I bought this microphone because i'm tired of having headset microphones containing either too much static, or just not having the volume i need.

upon receiving the item it came in a nice plastic case with some pretty solid latches (think pelican case, just not a pelican case)

Installed the supplied stand (which is pretty nifty) and plugged it into my computer (Windows 7 Home Premium)

Took a Few minutes to get recognized in the Device list but it did so without a hitch (there is no driver to install)

Using the listen feature i began listening at the quality. It sound very good However, i had a Hum and i could not figure it out, turns out it was picking up the vibration from my computer itself (the fans) As well as any background noise it easily picked those up as well.

If you're going to use one of these professionally i would recommend getting a Pop Filter to cover the front of the Mic (It is VERY sensitive)

Overall, the size of it isn't too daunting, i can be placed in just about anyplace on it's included Tripod Stand and not be in the way, It also comes with a pretty long USB Cable which can help as you're not limited in length.

I'm pretty happy with it, and If i have any problems later on down the road i will for sure make a note of it here.

First, I do not have any microphone from the Blue brand; however, I can say that I am very pleased both with the quality and the ease of this microphone. I purchased the pop filter as well, to protect it and make recordings that much better. It picks up sounds from everywhere, so if you are using it for anything other than high quality recordings, you are better off getting a different microphone or a headset. (That means do not use this one to play video games, specifically if you have a mechanical keyboard). It does just what you think it will.

If you use audacity to record your voice/sound tracks, the built in noise reducer takes away all of the background noise perfectly. Since audacity is free, no matter what software you use, background noise shouldn't be a problem.

To conclude, this is not a comparison to the Blue brand, but this microphone is good.

Got this product to use with my new DJ controller to hook it into our mixer for events.

Upon plugging the wire in I was unable to get stereo sound, or ANY low frequencies. I had to unplug one of the RCA cables to get anything to work, which resulted in my getting full frequency mono sound for the rest of the event.

Disappointed in my first purchase of a "Your Cable Store" wire. Luckily, by the time my second event came along, I was able to purchase another one from a different company that works fine.

I was previously using headphone to micro connector and then a cable. Switching to this got rid of a connection, and reduced line noise.

I bought this item on February 17, 2012 from ButterflyPhoto and I must say that I could not be happier with my purchase. This was the only bundle with the headphones that I could find on Amazon (that didn't come with a keyboard or something with a much heftier price tag) and it even matched the price of the headphones alone elsewhere in the marketplace. I didn't hesitate, got the bundle, and have been amazed by the quality of both products. The headphones and E5 I received were both genuine and sound fantastic together and on their own. The E5 added the extra oomph to the bass from the M50 and was definitely worth having around. The amp included 2 male to male 3.5mm cables, one short L-shape cable and one longer I-shape one.

My M50s have been a pretty beastly set of cans for the price I payed for them. At first, I was slightly disappointed, but shortly after I was stunned that my [what I thought were] fantastic sounding earphones sounded so much worse than they used to because of the clarity the M50s had shown my ears. After about a 50 hours of use, the M50s rarely leave my head when I'm at home. Every time I walk by and see these headphones, I'm tempted to just start listening away at my entire music library. They've even challenged me to find higher quality copies of my entire library. I'm no audiophile, but I do enjoy a clear, defined listening experience and these cans have done me justice.

One thing that bugged me was that the bass seemed to be slightly lacking, but I later discovered that it was generally the song's lack of bass that gave me this desire for more. When I listened to a song with a really bassy intro (Kanye West's Love Lockdown), I could tell that the power was definitely there to give me the bass I wanted. A slight EQ adjustment made these headphones perfect music to my ears. These headphones are made to be studio monitor headphones, and play the track as they were meant to be heard by the artist. These headphones have an incredibly balanced range, and instrument separation has been getting better with every day of use that passes. They're comfortable, sound great, look sharp, and have the build quality of a genuinely high quality product. Get some of these, now.

First off, i purchased the Filo amp and the headphones seperatly 3 years ago. Going on year 4 and these sound better now than the day I bought them. The voice quality is second to NONE. The lows are clear and the mid range is clean and even at high volumes their isnt a trace of muddiness or even the slightest distortion. Amazing. I gave up on the Dre's long ago, there simply is NO comparison. As i write this Im rockin Pink Floyd's Comfortably numb at volumes that only someone that has lost any shred of decency! And .... did I mention Bass response? You get A SOLID THUMP, again, without a trace of mud or even the slightest distortion! THE BEST I HAVE EVER OWNED PERIOD,DOT, END OF STORY.

NOTE: At time of writing this review, the price for this seller is higher than others selling Koss "The Plug". Shop around!

My interest for this product is as a solution to listening to music, lectures, and movies while travelling, and I travel a lot. I have a set of Panosonic noise-cancelling headphones which were good (about five times more expensive than these earbuds) though bulky, but the plastic broke so they won't stay on my head now.

These earbuds are an excellent alternative to noise-cancelling headphones for the frequent traveller. I find them more comfortable for extended listening than most conventional headphones. The ability to seal out noise from the external environment is very good, and makes it possible to understand what actors are saying when watching a movie on an airplane.

The overall performance sound quality and noise blocking is not as good as the Bose noise cancelling headphones, but the Bose are 20 times as expensive, much less convenient to carry, and subject to damage from the rough world of the road warrior. If The Plug had an optional noise-cancelling unit (say, combined with the eq), it would be a killer combination are you listening, Koss?).

The sound is good. Bass-heavy, to be sure; I would like them better if they had a flatter response, but the product is marketed at the portable music crowd, and many of them are looking for dramatic bass rather than golden-ears sound.

Besides, mobile sound is always a compromise, it's just a question of whether the compromise they chose works for you.

Here are some problems I've heard and the solutions:

1. "They fall out of my ear." I think an older version of this product did not come with alternative cushions; the ones I bought recently (as pictured here) came with 3 alternative cushion pairs, one of which fit well in my somewhat large ears. To make them fit well, roll the cushions in your fingers and squeeze them down, then hold them in place in your ears while they adjust the fit. Also, it is possible to fashion your own cushions (easy modification to commercially available ear plugs from pharmacy); go to google and search for "koss plug mods".

2. What about when I have to replace the cushions, they'll get waxy/dirty with use? See last sentence of #1.

3. "They sound tinny". I have a sense that the sound was tinnier on an earlier version of these earbuds, judging from comments I've read in feedback and on the koss plug mods page. The purple plugs (as opposed to the older(?) blue ones) do not sound tinny to me; they seem a bit heavy on the bass instead. Koss also makes a 3-band eq (20 dollars) for their headphones that can be used to adjust the sound some. I have an eq on order, hoping it may temper the boomy bass a bit. Of course, your player may have a way of changing the color of the sound, but my laptop does not.

4. "They're easy to lose." The price of their tiny size and negligible weight, is that you need to be careful not to lose them. I've already lost a pair. Koss also makes a carrying case which may help, or you could just put them in a 35mm film canister. But at $... a pair (compared to $... for noise-cancelling headphones) I'll just keep a spare pair around in my travelling case.

Overall I'm pleased with the price/performance tradeoff for these earbuds, and they are an essential part of my travelling kit. They sound better than any other earbuds I've used, and they remove a good bit of the ambient sound, offering more pleasure in listening. I give four stars out of five because I'd prefer a less bassy sound, though some people will really like the way they sound.

1st of all i heard about this mic from a composer but i was lil bit hesitated when i saw the bad review here in amazon, My friend said that this guy received a defeated mic and he should return it back, and he asked me to trust him (my friend) and buy this mic!

So i bought the mic and I've just received it now and I'll just say one thing:

The Neumann U87 price is 3200$ and the blue mic stage one is 800$.... this blue mic is more brighter, warmer, sensitive than the Neumann U87, extremely low noise, the Vocal sound is so wide, loud and clear.

I can't believe that this sound comes out from this capsule

i just want to say that I'm not American and i don't know any seller or anyone in amazon.com because most of people is talking about the fake reviews!

Anyway its Perfect in Vocals (VO VOCALS) i didn't test it on instruments till now

Bought a "new" one off Amazon. Box had clearly been opened before. Was missing the microphone cable. Amazon gave me 10% discount, but after testing the mic with my Mbox 2 Pro firewire card and Pro Tools 8.0, I discovered that the mic would stick at a high-level and send a loud noise into Pro Tools everytime I began singing into it. My AT 3035 works fine, and I've since returned the Blue mic and purchased a much better Neumann U87 which also works fine. I think I got a dud that someone else had returned to Amazon and they passed it off on me hoping I wouldn't notice. The mic did look great and the capsule idea really drew me towards it.

My parents gave me this guitar for christmas, and I've had this guitar for about 5 months now,and I have loved and hated some things about the guitar. let's start with the short list, the hated.

Hated: The strap is garbage, The wammy bar causes the guitar to go insanely out of tune, for about 2 weeks the frets cut your hands to shreds, When using one pickup, the amp makes a really annoying buzzing sound, so use the second to bottom or top setting on the pickup selector switch. The guitar does also go out of tune fairly easy by itself.

Now onto the loved: EXTREMELY STURDY AND STRONG. My guitar was dropped by one of my friends onto a concrete floor and the only damage done was a small chip in the finish by the neck. Amp is fantastic for it's size. Loud enough to fill a gymnasium full of screaming students. The tuner is fantastic, and the picks are incredibly strong. Strings sound good and are strong. Extra strings are a good bonus, just make sure you put them on right.

Overall a great guitar package for about $200, I'd recommend to any beginning guitarist. With a name like Fender, you can't go wrong!

I got this kit for my birthday because I want to learn guitar. It is totally ridiculous to invest much more than about $200 at the start of a new hobby. At the beginner level, you have no idea what you need, what you want, whether your even going to stick with it, etc. Luckily, Fender is selling this little gem.

I'm not going to lie--in this $200 package, you will not get a $700 guitar with a $150 amp and a Monster cable. What you do get is a guitar that sounds good and that you can learn on, an amp that makes your practice audible, and a DVD that... well, sucks. The DVD is really bad.

I highly recommend this package for the beginner.

(As for the DVD sucking--it says it's for beginners, but it moves much too fast. Get a book and teach yourself or, better yet, get lessons. Don't count on the DVD.)

I got this for my fifteen yo son (aka "Even After Dinner, Giant Boys Eat"). (Okay, not because I was clever enough to think of it ahead of time, but because I stumbled onto one of Amazon's "lightning deals" at holiday time.) Perfect.

As you suspect from reading the description, this package has everything you need, which was really a blessing from my perspective. As others have suggested, we'll gradually replace things as he wants... strings, of course, the strap, maybe some new picks. I didn't realize there was even a tuner in the set, which is great.

One thing extra I feel we immediately need is a stand for the guitar. This is partly because things can get a little rambunctious in our house (e.g., the dog and the boy chasing each other around) and I want the guitar to be safe. I also don't really want him to put it away; I'd like to leave it out in the living room so that he's more inclined to pick it up and play.

I like the DVD, though I'm writing this just as soon as the gift has been opened, so we've only just started. To me, the lessons seem good, though my son is a trumpet player and played piano when young (so he knows musical things) and I've also played instruments (including acoustic guitar) before. We are far from being musicians, but it's not totally new to us, either. You're going to have to replay them a few times to get it; that's part of the learning.

Tips for beginners:

1. Tune your guitar to the DVD initially and don't mess with the electronic tuner. Everything will sound wrong if you're not tuned the same as the DVD guy, but trying to play along with him. Also, you should learn to tune your guitar to the low E string anyway (as he teaches on the DVD).

2. Make sure your low E and high E are actually the same note after you think you're done tuning (but yeah, in different octaves). My son thought he was tuned, but this test didn't pass so we adjusted.

3. Like everything else, you're learning to tune. But if you don't get this reasonably right, when you go on to chords, they'll sound like cr*p.

4. The first chord you're shown is a minor chord. (I question this choice, but there you have it.) This chord might not sound right to you anyway.

5. I think one strategy is to plow ahead till you get to an easier chord to listen to, maybe the regular E or the A. And then you might want to fiddle around a little bit between adjusting the tuning and trying the chord till the chord sounds right.

6. Note that you can find chord charts online for the "open chords", such as the one at Guitar for Beginners that I just found. Those first five chords should sound right if you're properly tuned (remember not to play all the strings for some of the chords).

7. You should maybe do just a little bit each day at the start (15 minutes or so) till your fingers build up calluses. This can also help pace the frustration factor of getting to the point of those first few chords.

8. Once you get those first few chords, you're on your way! Then it's just practice, practice, practice.

p.s. Some musical friends have confirmed that this is an excellent guitar for a beginner. One points out that what you lose in this line (as compared to other Fenders) is the quality control. This was an interesting observation for me -it's true of so many products, but I didn't apply it here. I think this might explain some of the variation in the reviews. Remember that you're buying from Amazon, and if you notice anything wrong, just Send It Back.

Want Fender Starcaster Strat Pack Electric Guitar with Amp and Accessories (Black) Discount?

Ok, first off, even if you are a beginner, I do not recommend this guitar.

Why?

One, this guitar has highly incremental buzz. Most people will tell you when you ask, that this is because of the amp, but this is because this is essentially quite cheaply constructed, and the parts aren't as good as a lot of others. The strings are too close to the fret, and this is one of the reasons.

Two, cheap materials, as I stated, are troublesome. After owning the guitar for one week, and having to take out and screw in the whammy bar, the screw part of it got stuck in the hole. Not shortly after that, we returned the guitar.

Three, the frets. Many people stated this, and this is a very big problem for anyone. The frets are NOT smooth at ALL and after just one week of use I had scars and a ripped up palm on my hand.

But if you want a good guitar in this price range, for beginners, here's what I recommend. Get a Fender Squier. At most sites, the base Fender Squier costs $119. About $90 less than this does here, and it has much smoother fret board, but it still has some of the buzz found in this guitar. I also recommend a beginner Epiphone Les Paul or SG.

Buy Fom Amazon Now

Got this guitar package for Christmas (in midnight blue, but oh well), and I am liking this a lot. As other reviewers have stated, you are not getting a $300 guitar and a $100 amp you are getting a cheapo beginner's guitar with a wimpy amp.

THAT BEING SAID, it is worth much more than the measly $200 you spend! This is a GREAT package to get for a beginner to the electric guitar. The guitar is sturdy enough to handle some rough playing, and it seems to stay in tune somewhat well. The amp, while not loud or sturdy enough to use in a concert, is fun to mess around with and start experimenting with distortion, etc. I'm sure the picks are fine I prefer hard picks, so I didn't even look at the ones in the package. I also didn't look at the DVD included, having known how to play acoustic for a few years prior.

The bad news: The strings died very quickly for me (both the already string ones and the replacements included). The tuner is finicky at best. The amp will die if you crank the volume and blast away for very long. The strap comes off if you glance at it.

However, for a beginner, this package is perfect. Once you get some practice and feel like moving on, you can get a new tuner, a new amp, and even a new guitar one at a time at your leisure.

TL;DR: This is a great deal for a beginner, well worth the $200.
