This sound system is even better than we thought it would be, especially for the price. We used it for announcing at a dog show we hosted and it worked perfectly nice and loud and the shound was very good. There were a few short times where the sound went away kind of like a cell phone but it was only hundreths of a second so you still got what was being said. We will definitely be using this again for future shows. Great product I would definitely recommend this item!

If you shelve it for a while, your battery will die. It's hard to replace it. Once, I replaced it, it blew the whole system. I have only used it about 5 times. This is a terrible value. Do your research, there are much better and cheaper systems out there I only bought this because I was branded. Fender brand...This one is NOT a good value at all.

I purchased this to help officiate track meets. Worked for 3 meets and then failed. Out of the box the microphone jack didn't work. Controls are confusing. Manual was written by a five year old and the translation to English is terrible.

Edit: Removed comments about swapping cables and added Jennifer Warnes to the music track examples. I'm satisfied that the Amperior's supplied cables are the best for general use, at home as well as in portable/outdoor use.

First impression: A lush sound from top to bottom with everything represented equally. I was surprised by the evenness of this sound, and by the clarity which I didn't expect from a modestly-priced Sennheiser, so since there were other people with me at the Apple store in Akron, I asked a couple of them to pick a song and have a listen. The feedback I got was consistent: Each person listened and exclaimed how they could hear everything bass, mids, treble so clearly. I recall my recent experience with the new v-moda white M80 headphone, and how remarkably free of coloration it was. The Amperior takes that experience to a new level with better highs and a somewhat livelier presentation. The liveliness or lushness may simply be a result of stronger and better highs, but there it is for whatever the cause might be.

I don't feel I should just offer my impressions of the sound and let it go at that, because it doesn't give people much to go on. For instance, bass that's strong for me might be weak for someone else. So I like to compare the sound to other headphones I have or had recently. Comparing to the ATH M50, the bass is comparable down to about 30 hz, although the M50's bass increases slightly on the very deep end. The Amperior doesn't seem to have any useful output at 15 hz as does the v-moda M80, and 20 hz sounds much weaker than 30 hz. With most of my better headphones, 20 hz sounds weaker than 30 hz, but with the Amperior the difference is more pronounced. Bass from 30 hz up is good noticeably stronger than headphones like the Shure 1840, and close to the ATH M50's bass. Since the Amperior's impedance is only 18 ohms, you're likely to experience differences in the bass depending on what you plug it into, although with the iPod Touch and iPhone 4, the bass is very good.

The Amperior's mids were not at all difficult to judge, since they were clear and uncolored on my first listen, and nothing since then has altered that impression. They're not forward or recessed to any noticeable extent, and instruments and vocals sound right. I don't sense any limitations from the on-ear design or small openings in the earcups. The Amperior's sound is pretty much like my full-size closed headphones in terms of soundstage and lack of any congestion like you might expect from smaller on-ear designs. The highs are similar to the Philips L1 and Shure 1840, but there is no emphasis around 2-3 khz like the 1840, and the presence region around 4 to 6 khz does not have the emphasis that the L1 has. In essence, the mids and highs sound rather neutral to me, yet don't have a noticeable veil like I've experienced with some other Sennheiser headphones.

The new Amperior looks pretty much the same as what people are reporting for the Sennheiser HD-25 series, although the Amperior has aluminum earcups which purportedly, in conjunction with secret damping materials, reduce unwanted resonances and other bad things. The blue earcups (there are other colors available) are dark enough that it doesn't scream for attention like certain of the fashion headphone models. The headband, which splits into two parts, seems to be entirely plastic, but because of the design there is very little flexing when putting it on, so I suppose it shouldn't snap as long as it's not abused. Clamping pressure seems light to me, and due to the soft earpad design that spreads the pressure over the entire ear, it doesn't have any tendency to get uncomfortable. I do find that I'm moving the earpads slightly within the first few minutes of listening, but this design is more comfortable for me than the 10-12 other on-ear headphones I've used in the past year.

The cable is single-sided and detachable on the right, which is the opposite of other single-sided configurations I've had up to this point. Like the Philips L1 and M1, there is a dongle or "pigtail" that extends about 12 inches below the earcup, and the cable extension (female minijack to male miniplug) connects to that dongle. The Amperior comes with two rather thin cable extensions, one with the Apple-style miniplug and the other the standard miniplug without the extra Apple connector. The Amperior does not come with any sort of carrycase the box it ships in has foam inserts to protect the headphone, but that box isn't useful for putting into small luggage bags for airline travel etc. The very small v-moda M80 carrycase would fit the Amperior perfectly except for the plastic extensions at the left and right ends of the headband, so I'm on the lookout for a travel carrycase for the Amperior.

In other reviews I've done I've included the following music examples with comments about how the headphones sound with each track. My suggestion is instead of reading each one as an absolute unto itself, you could compare my notes here to other reviews and see how the Amperior compares with each individual track. I'd like to add here that although I avoid typecasting headphones for any particular genre, and while the Amperior plays all genres very well in my view, I get the sense from playing these tracks that this is the first hi-fi headphone I've heard which has a really good high end that also makes rock music sound excellent, with little or none of the usual irritations that plague rock music on high fidelity headphones.

Bauhaus Bela Lugosi's Dead (~1980): Strong midrange sound effects this is a good worst-case test for resonant-type sounds in the most sensitive midrange area. Handled very well by the Amperior.

Beethoven Symphony 9, Solti/CSO (1972): Excellent overall sound. Of special note for this headphone are the bass impacts beginning around 10:30 of the fourth movement. Those impacts won't overwhelm you since they're soft and well in the background, but you can feel the weight they carry.

Blues Project Caress Me Baby (1966): Rarely mentioned, but one of the greatest white blues recordings ever. The loud piercing guitar sound at 0:41 into the track is a good test for distortion or other problems. Handled very well here.

Boz Scaggs Lowdown (1976): Good sound quality this is a great test for any nasality in the midrange. Handled very well by the Amperior.

Buffalo Springfield Kind Woman (~1968): A Richie Furay song entirely, rarely mentioned, but one of the best sounding rock ballads ever. This will sound good on most headphones, but it's a special treat with the Amperior.

Cat Stevens Morning Has Broken (early 70's): A near-perfect test for overall sound this track will separate the best sounding headphones from the lesser quality types. Nothing specific, except that almost any deviation from perfect reproduction will stand out with this track. Sounds very good on the Amperior.

Catherine Wheel Black Metallic (~1991): Goth with industrial overtones I like this since it's a great music composition and the sound effects are smoothly integrated into the mix. This may sound distorted or mushy with some headphones, but the Amperior renders the deliberate instrumental distortions clearly.

Def Leppard Bringin' On The Heartbreak (1981): MTV goth/pop/metal at its best good ambience and high energy the better headphones will separate the details and make for a good experience. Lesser quality and the details tend to mush together. The Amperior plays this perfectly.

J.S. Bach E. Power Biggs Plays Bach in the Thomaskirche (~1970): Recorded on a tracker organ in East Germany, the tracks on this recording have the authentic baroque sound that Bach composed for, albeit the bellows are operated by motor today. The Amperior plays the tones seamlessly through the upper limits of the organ, which cover nearly the full range of human hearing. Of special note are the pedal notes tracker organs have low-pressure pipes and don't typically produce the kind of impact around 30-35 hz that modern organs do. A headphone that's lacking even a little in the low bass will sound especially bass-shy with this type of organ, but the Amperior delivers the full experience of this music.

Jamming With Edward It Hurts Me Too (1969): Intended originally as a test to fill studio down time and set recording levels etc., this was released a few years later for hardcore Rolling Stones fans. Although not as good technically in every aspect as the Chess studio recordings of 1964, and in spite of the non-serious vocals by Mick Jagger, this rates very high on my list of white blues recordings, and sounds absolutely delicious with the Amperior.

Jennifer Warnes Rock You Gently (1992?): The strong deep bass percussion at the beginning of this track has been cited as a test for weakness or distortion in certain headphones. The Amperior plays those notes with good impact and control. Having played this track a number of times now, I'm highly impressed with the Amperior's bass reproduction and detail throughout the track.

Jimmy Smith Basin Street Blues (early 60's): This track has some loud crescendos of brass and other instruments that don't sound clean and musical on some headphones. The Amperior provides very good reproduction. Listen particularly to the second crescendo at 15 seconds in, for maximum detail effect. I'd like to emphasize that these crescendos are probably the worst-case test I have for instrumental separation and detail, and the Amperior aces them.

Ladytron Destroy Everything You Touch (~2009): Featured in The September Issue, this song has heavy overdub and will sound a bit muddy on some headphones. Sounds great with the Amperior.

Milt Jackson/Wes Montgomery Delilah (Take 3) (1962): The vibraphone is heavily dependent on harmonics to sound right, and the Amperior plays it superbly.

Pink Floyd/Dark Side of the Moon Speak To Me (1973): Strong deep bass impacts will be heard and felt here.

Rolling Stones Stray Cat Blues (1968): Dirty, gritty blues that very few white artists could match. On some headphones the vocals and guitar lack the edge and fall more-or-less flat. If you're a really good person, playing this song will probably make you feel nervous and uneasy.

Tony Bennett I Left My Heart In San Francisco (1962): Frank Sinatra's favorite singer. Highest recommendation. With some of the best headphones, the sibilants on this recording are very strong, but they're not a problem with the Amperior.

I got some textbook money and I bought these, the original hd25s, and a pair of beyerdynamic dt1350s. After comparing them for a couple hours, these came out on top. The amperiors weren't comfortable at first try, but I got used to them and I can now wear them for hours. The isolation and fit is fantastic. The sound is a slight bit recessed in the mids compared to the beyers, but it's got a lot of punch and detail. Bass kicks but doesn't conquer, and the treble is lively and quite engrossing. The build is fantastic, I wear these on my neck everywhere when I'm not listening and I have no doubt that these are gonna last me the school year if not longer. The blue matches my phone case and looks stylish but understated. Like the Beats an engineer would make.

The controltalk remote is super convenient. I've never had a pair of headphones with this feature, and now I don't think I can own a pair without it. Sennheiser design comes into play here as well, the cable is detachable and rugged. The buttons feel great to push, and the quality of the microphone is really surprisingly good. I take all my phone calls through the amperior now. As a bicyclist, being able to change tracks and volume effortlessly without taking my phone out of my pocket is a safety feature and is really convenient. It gives me pleasure how well the system works. Also, the isolation really cuts down on wind noise, and the punchy sound signature does a great job of cutting through noise, whether it's wind noise, bus noise, or roommate noise.

More on the sound comparisons. The Amperior has beefier bass and smoother highs than the original HD25. I think the bass is tuned in and the treble may be a result of the aluminum earcups. The Beyerdynamics sound dramatically different from both the sennheisers, with a warm, detailed soundstage effect that really brings the heat when it comes to instrumental plucking. However, for a portable headphone I prefer the Amperior's sound signature, plus the fit on the beyer didn't really work for me. Overall, the Amperior sounds fantastic, and this is from a man who used to own $900 Westone ES5 custom in-ear-monitors. It's sound sits perfectly in between brightness and warmth, between aggressiveness and laid-backness. But I guess that's what you get when you take Sennheiser, known for the laid-back sound, and have them re-design a monitoring champ for the consumer market.

I hate that this product has been discontinued it's by far my favorite way to listen to music on the go. I'm even using them at home a whole lot. In fact, I don't think my AKG K550 has seen any use in this past week. Snap 'em up before everyone runs out of stock. I'm almost considering buying a second pair just in case.

These headphones are really amazing. They have a very up-front kind of sound. Very balanced from top to bottom. You truly hear everything in the recording. Nothing is masked (e.g. orchestral background noise, other noises). If you trial them listening to MP3's, you will hear the slightly sibilant quality of the sound format. It plays it as it is. They really shine on high-bit rate recordings. Compared to the HD25, they seem to have a little better separation, slightly better low-end and high-end is a little smoother. I've never heard sound this balanced before and when it comes to rock music, rock music actually sounds the way it was intended to, not just a muddled mess. What amazes me most is that I am used to speakers or headphones that play a particular genre of music well but when you switch to something else, they can't keep up. These sound like a different pair of headphones for each genre you play. They really present the music as it was intended but they aren't boring in the least. The bass is extremely tight and punchy (yet not overdone) and the sound is very "in your face". My only criticism is the sound-stage, but the separation between instruments is still outstanding. I am enjoying my music all over again and really looking forward to using these for music production and mixing.

Run great off an iPhone 5 and an Asus Essence ST sound card.

In sum: amazing!

the interface is amazing, great sound quality and great build quality, the headphones are pretty nice have it in the booth for clients pretty comfortable, the mic on the other hand its been a pain in the rear end from day one the grill came off because the screws that were holing it in came loose so i figured id just glue it on (bad idea) i was getting alot of ground noise because it wasn't touching the piece of metal so i had to rip it apart after it was glued and put my own screws in and that fixed that issue, the sound quality of the mic itself not bad i guess but since have upgraded to the studio project b1 and am loving it i recommend you buy this bundle if you are just starting out or are an artist that wants to record themselves. don't even bother with usb mics just skip it all together i had one before this and this as brought up my production quality tremendously and extra poortable

I have the expectation that if you ship a product that the products come with everything mentioned. Imagine buying a bicycle and it doesnt come with a chain. The sum of the product are a good and deserve 4 to 5 stars. However, again my expectations are that if you include software that said software includes a valid license. The Cubase software which is what allows the sum of the parts to work on the computer does not include a license. FAIL

Again the analogy i find to be most appropriate is a bike without a chain or a new car that doesn't include a key.

the condenser mic i've only used once to see how it is but i have another condenser which does a slightly better job, tho nothing wrong with the one in the package, headphones were surprisingly good, even my sound engineer friend thinks there great and he has a really good ear for this stuff so i take his word because he knows what he's talking about.

soundcard was very easy to setup and havent had a problem at all and works as expected which is really good.

Joyo, for those unfamiliar, is a Chinese company (or perhaps "manufacturer", more accurately) that has gained some popularity in the past few years by "cloning" the circuitry of popular boutique guitar effects pedals, encasing them in a new form factor, and selling them at a price ($35 to $55) far more affordable than their boutique equivalents. The Joyo JA-03 series of Mini Headphone Amps appears to be a clone of the Vox Amplug series, which is quickly gaining popularity as a plug-in headphone amplifier with analog circuitry and surprisingly good tones. However, whereas the Vox Amplug costs either $40 or $50, these Joyo models can be had for as little as $10-$15, shipping included.

While I was a fan of some of the Joyo pedals, I was understandably skeptical that the Joyo could match the quality of the Vox Amplug. Also, since the two Amplugs I own (AC30 and Satriani) do not match up one-to-one with the "Super Lead", it is not a true comparison. However, I can say that the Joyo JA-03 is a very useful device, and given the affordability of these headphone amps, there really is no reason for any guitarist not to own at least one of the Vox or Joyo plug amps.

On the Joyo "Super Lead", you get three dials (Volume, Tone, Gain), but they are not numbered in anyway. This seems like a big deal, but actually it isn't, because the controls get bumped a lot anyway, and you can't see the settings on the bottom of the guitar as you play. Most of the time, you will be reaching down to the three dials and adjusting as you play. I opted for Super Lead because I thought it would be different than the two Vox plugs I already had, and it is. It probably has the highest gain of the three, but the sound quality is also not quite up to par with the Vox plugs. That's not to say that it's "bad" by any means I actually was quite happy with it. But the tone doesn't punch through quite as clearly, and there's also some feedback that happened if I put the gain up to 90% to 100%. Fortunately, there's no need to do that, as you get plenty of gain (and no feedback) at a slightly lower setting.

As for durability, it is a concern with both the Vox and the Joyo models, but there are some additional corners cut on the Joyo. The power switch could fail over time, and the 2 AAA batteries rest loosely against a circuit board inside the device. However, given the low cost and limited real estate, this is not particularly surprising. My model worked fine out of the packaging, and I would not lose sleep if a $15 item such as this failed.

If you're new to headphone amps altogether, I recommend the Vox Amplug AC30 ($39.99) over this one. If you're specifically looking for a heavy distorted tone to play riffs, I think the Vox Metal Amplug is the best option (from what I've read). For sustained solos, however, I think the JA-03 Super Lead is a nice alternative to the Vox "Lead" and "Joe Satriani" signature. Both of those are better devices (and feature a delay effect), but they are $49.99. I think the Vox plugs are more than fairly priced, but at only $15, I could see owning one or more of these Joyos as well, and leaving them all over the house. If I was rating the Joyo strictly from a cost vs. value standpoint, I'd give it a 5-star rating without a doubt, but given the affordabilitytt and better quality of the Vox, I think 4 stars is more appropriate.

I was a bit skeptical about actually mixing on a computer, but must say this delivers!! The Torq LE is a simple to use, and learn, program. The mixer does a great job, with a couple of exceptions. First, there should be kills on the EQ's and the headphone monitoring needs to be better thought out. You basically have to connect to 2 external audio outputs to hear the main mix and the monitor mix. I believe a simple headphone jack on the mixer itself would have been a great idea. Of course, since this is a MIDI controller, and not an actual mixer, I don't know the ramifications and troubles with doing that. Those are the 2 reasons I was not able to give this 5 stars. Overall, I think its a great product and for the price its awesome!

First off I was a huge fan of Trance music and I really wanted to get into mixing and making my own cd's. However, I had no idea where to start and how much money it was going to cost. After months of research I came across this beauty. The M-audio Mixlab was the best thing I could have purchased with my experience mixing (little to none) and my budget (fairly low). The software that it comes with (Torq LE) is a slimmed down version of the real thing but for where I was it was perfect. The mixer is also a slimmed down version of bigger, more complicated hardware. However, dont let the look of it throw you off, it has everything you need to get started and much more. This whole set is perfect for if you want to learn (or even just see if you want to get deeper into Djing)

Note: I had to buy a new audio interface (Numark DJ Io) and a pair of monitor speakers (M-audio audiophile Av 30) to fully appreciate what I could do. If you have a one channel soundcard on your PC then you wont be able to cue you mixes. It applies to every other dj equipment you may buy

I've had this mixer for about a year and have DJ'd at a couple parties with it and it works very well for the price. There are a few issues with it, but you can work around most of them.

First, the most important thing is being able to cue up the music with headphones. In order to avoid buying a new soundcard with two outputs, you can set the headphone output to the left channel and the master output to the right, then buy a "stereo to mono" splitter to split the two channels, then you buy two "mono to stereo" adapters to turn each channel into a full channel....I know it sounds dumb, but it works perfectly.

There are a few other issues including the fact that it doesn't light up, so its hard to see in dark parties and it doesn't have as many sound effects as other mixers, but for $100 you can't beat this software and mixer combination.

It's served me well for a year and has gotten me addicted to DJing, I'm now upgrading to the Torq Xponent, its a lot more expensive, but offers many more features.

I didn't buy this for the software, didn't even open the cd sleeve; so, I can;t speak to that

however

I was looking for a replacement for my trigger finger. As just a basic midi control surface this thing is a STEAL. So inexpensive and yet, better than the trigger finger. Well, of course, it does not have the drum pads (which I found I didn't use anyway); but, my TF had an error where one of the knobs was on the same midi channel as one of the faders. Seems like a throwaway compliment; but, it IS nice that the Torq works right.

If you are looking for a nice midi surface for playing live, you really cannot do better than this one for the price.

Ordered this controller simply because it was 35 bucks, it was a good decision. Sturdier and a bit larger than I was expecting, USB powered, shipped fast. Took about 3 minutes to setup with Ableton, it would of been quicker but the crossfader outputs 2 midi CC's (17-Normal & 20-Inverted) so choose CC17 and all is well. Torq software went right in the trash so I can't comment on it. 1 or 2 endless rotaries would of been cool.

Bottom line it's a good cheapo controller: 12 knobs, 10 buttons, 4 faders and 1 cross-fader for a very good price.

Ableton live users, pair this with a Launchpad and you're pretty much set!

I picked this up to add to my interesting instrument collection. I wanted something cheap to learn and practice on. This worked great. The first thing that I did was take it to a local trusted music store to give it a once-over. The guy (with 60+ years of violin experience) told me that I got a steal for the price that I had paid. He said mine was probably worth more along the lines of $130.

Now don't get me wrong, this is not a professional violin and it has its issues. The bridge is relatively flat and there is not enough action on the next to shave it down and round it out more. This will make it harder to play the middle strings, but not impossible. The bow is also not the best, but it does work well enough for what I need. You will also have to learn to make the tuning pegs stick more and less. Some of mine needed some rosin to make them stick more while some needed a little crayon wax to make them slide a bit more. Just some trial and error.

The sound is as good as I would expect. It sounds decent to me. Not great, but decent. However, I would guess that much of the poor sound is coming from my lack of talent and not the violin itself.

Recommended if you are looking for a fun toy or a cheap learner, but not the best choice for advanced users or actual performances.

This great little violin is as weird as your gear!!! fuzz tone, overdrive, loopty loops, gotta have some sonic processors, otherwise you'll just sound like one of those loud tinny wanky dank, out of tune icky wickies, or a cat that the rocker just ran over it's tail.

Just kidding!!! I love the little AUSTIN BAZAAR for it's tone (through all of the above).. but I have a little G6 ($49 amp) and it sounds better through it than a clean expensive amp. The only problem with Austin, is you might want to get it a cadellac bridge and peg adjustment, but i've MADE mine work.. patience & persistence. I teach many violin students, many interested in an electric. It's the best choice for a first electric out there..(not a big investment-and can be adjusted to any spec) and quite frankly, the hollow-body plastic gives it a better tone than the more expensive solid wood or fiberglass ever can.

at first i was skeptical about an electric violin. i know nothing about violins period. so i had a buddy come over, set up the bridge, tune it up and he was amazed at the sound it made. he liked it so good he wanted one for himself. be cautioned, the violin is not put together when you get it, you have to put the bridge on yourself and tune it yourself. does not include a tuner. didnt include any kind of instructions on how to set the thing up, so get to know a violinist if you decide to order one of these

I'm a beginner and I wanted something cheap to learn on. It is all I need for now, so I recommend it.

I did not except this is good instrument which mean this is not professional instrument.

But I bought this because it is perfect for the people who playing electronic violin first time.

I been playing classic violin more than 10yrs and it works well for me if you change the cheap strings to dominant strings and $70+ bow will make much more good quality of sound. Bad thing was they are not including KUN so that I need to use old one from my other violin, also very hard time with set up on chein rest because it keep sliped and they don't include chein rest joint tool :( and last thing that paints on violin keep falling down so violin gets ugly.
