I owned the Blue Snowball, but like many people was having trouble getting Windows 7 to recognize it. I would have to plug it in and unplug it multiple times to get windows to recognize it.

Well I got fed up, and decided i would get a new mic this mic. GLAD I DID.

First, the setup was extremely easy. I plugged it in once. Windows 7 recognized it immediately and there was no compatibility issues. I will point out that Audiotechnica says on their website that this mic is compatible with Windows 7. IT DOES NOT SAY THIS FOR the AT2020 ONLY the AT2020+. Since I don't own the AT2020, I can't say for sure if it is Windows 7 compatible, but people on the Internet have had problems. I will say that on a fresh installation of Windows 7, all the features of the AT2020+ worked perfectly on the first attempt.

The mic itself is fantastic. Great sound capture, reproduction through Audacity sounds tremendous. The headphone jack allows you to listen to yourself in realtime. I can find out if I am sounding flat when I sing etc... You can also set the headphone jack on the mic as the audio out for your computer. That way if you want to play a song and record you voice to that song, you can do that as well.

I know this mic is expensive relative to the Blue Snowball, but you are gettting so much more. Most importantly, a guarantee that it will work. Blue for whatever reason does guarantee their mics will work unless you are a certain model number or higher.

This one works, plain and simple. I would DEFINITELY buy again.

at the same time, I was going to buy two anyway so I figured I'd get two different kinds in case I'd picked a dud... Glad I did! The other one takes up a little more space than this product, but it's totally worth it considering that this one stopped retracting on the third or fourth use. As if that weren't bad enough, it does not charge my Blackberry for some reason. When I attach a micro USB adaptor, my iPad charges perfectly fine, but a straight connection to the phone does nothing. Now that I have used both products, I wish I would have bought two of the other one.

I'm constantly extending and retracting this thing while at work and at this point the spring is a bit worn and it needs a little coaching to retract all the way. Also the this gauge wire makes for longer than normal charge times.

I bought two of these in February. I had been using a 3' model made by another manufacturer, and wanted a little more max cable length. For a few months all was well. It's tricky to get the cable to retract all the way, the housing is a bit too snug to fit all the wound cable. So there's that. Then sometime in May the plastic housing supporting the micro USB connector cracked and fell off one of the two I'd bought. I wound some dental floss around it to reinforce it, and it has stayed fixed. Hey, stuff happens. But a couple of days ago the second one I bought had the exact same problem. Clearly a flaw in the design, especially in light of the fact that these cables don't get a ton of use and are not used roughly at all. Both mine are still usable, but the floss looks silly, and I shouldn't have needed to repair them both in just a few months.

I really don't think I could have found a better keyboard at the price of the Casio CTK3000. After much research, I decided on this keyboard because of the number of keys and the fact that it came with a stowaway stand, headphones and charger. For me, an adult who is just learning piano, it was essential for me to have headphones so I wasn't disturbing everyone in the house. The keyboard is really easy to use. I didn't even read any of the instructions. I just plugged it in and started practicing.

The stand is a little difficult to adjust and it doesn't attach as securely to the stand as I would like it to, but it's not unstable or anything. The keyboard sort of just sits on top of the stand. This is not a problem for an adult, but if you're looking at getting this keyboard for a child, then you may want to take that into account. This keyboard also works great on a regular table, as long as you have one that is at an appropriate height for practicing. I use the keyboard on the tabletop more than I use it on the stand, but I'm glad I have the stand for those times that I do need to use it.

The keyboard also comes with a little bar that you insert into the back of the keyboard to hold your sheet music or lesson book. There is a groove at the top center of the keyboard to prevent the sheet music/book from slipping. I found that the other reviews I read and the product description didn't note that the keyboard does have a space to hold music. Of course that may be something that is just standard on keyboards, but, as a piano novice, I was not aware of this.

Bottom line, I think this keyboard is excellent quality for the price and will last a beginner quite a while.

For a complete beginner like me, this package (keyboard + stand + headphones + AC adapter) has been ideal. An experienced friend recommended that I opt for a touch-sensitive keyboard, and it has indeed been the right way to go. You could surely learn on a lesser keyboard that doesn't have the touch response, but it wouldn't sound very good, and you'd want to upgrade pretty quickly.

It has quite a number of alternative tones, which I seldom use other than when just goofing around, and a large number of rhythm tracks and some other digital effects that I've not needed either, but they're on there & they work.

I've also not experimented with the USB, MP3 or MIDI I/O functions, as mine didn't seem to come with any connectors for those. The irony is, I would think people who need that stuff would probably also get a fancier keyboard, but who knows...

This keyboard does have some built in "instruction" functions that are kind of fun and have a very patient way of helping you along, but they are more geared toward the total newbie, in that they help you familiarize yourself with using all fingers on your hands and playing in time with accompaniment. An interesting feature is, when you get stuck in a song, the accompaniment will stop and wait on you, and a voice will speak the number of the finger you should be using ("One" = thumb, etc). Once you hit the right key, the song will move on with you. It doesn't do much for helping you to actually read music in my opinion, but that would be a lot to ask. The digital readout during the lesson will show you the proper key(s) to press on a key diagram, which finger(s) to use on a hand diagram, and does in fact have the note(s) shown on a staff, but the staff is teeny tiny and not very useful for learning to translate a note to a piano key. You'll want to seek that level of instruction elsewhere.

It would have been even better to have a package that also included the sustain pedal, but that omission hasn't at all been a problem at this early stage. Those are for sale individually if you want one.

I highly recommend this as a starter keyboard. I would not rely on it as your sole instruction resource. At the very least, get a "for dummies" book or something to get yourself started reading music.

I bought this for a friend who needed an inexpensive practice piano, thus Casio came to mind. What surprised me (and somewhat disappointed me, because of the shipping costs) was that 80% of this package's weight is solely devoted to the stand. The stand is supposedly a Stage Stand, even though being a bit flimsy.

The keyboard is ready to plug n start playing. The sounds aren't the best, but for the price it serves as a home practice or for classes/schools who need an extra keyboard. There are the general options in which most Casio budget keyboard come with. Reveerb, Touch Response, you can octave shift 1 octave up or down, which is handy for a keyboard this size.

The computer hook up I must remind you if you're planning to buy this keyboard; it does not include a USB cable. The Keyboard does get immediately recognized on Windows Vista and ready to be used as a MIDI Controller. Very handy, especially if you have better sample libraries for piano and other instruments.

The headphones are a nice bonus.

If you want to learn piano, this is the best product on Amazon. It's the best deal for your money. The accessories are must haves, and the keyboard itself is in great shape and has everything you could need for a beginner. It doesn't have the full 88 keys of a regular piano but that's not necessary for a beginner. If you're thinking of buying a "starter piano" this is the best one there is.

My only gripe is the holder for the music on the keyboard isn't the greatest.

Casio CTK 3000 arrived today. Everything checks out okay. The keyboard sounds good and the stand is very stable. I feel like I made a great purchase. I purchased the keyboard, adapter, stand, headphones and recieved free shipping besides, now its up to me to learn how to play. Amazon was very prompt with the shipping. I am very satisfied with the touch sensitive keys and the Grand Piano tone.

Bought this even tho I have 2 other full-sized synths which are excellent. But one the size of this would be cozy for laying trax with a drum machine, Boss BR-800, while sitting on my bed.

The COOLEST thing so far -it has a very passable, USABLE, even, 60s organ sound! Roughly reminiscent of a Vox Continental! No joke.

Highly dig the color scheme of the keys. Also somewhat 60s-like in appearance.

Not super user-friendly to tweak, but not horrible. I can get the great robot-like or ridiculous sounds out of it like any decent synth.

I recommend it.

To all experiencing troubles with their Saffire I/O box-

I just ended a 2 week battle with mine that ended in me prevailing and now I have an amazing breakout box with awesome preamps. First advice, don't give up keep trying all suggestions you read online as the preamps in this unit are not to be missed (especially considering the price).

I am running Windows 7 64bit on Gigabyte MB // i5 Quadcore @ 2.8Ghz // 8GB DDR // SIIG FW400 card with TI chipset (very important) // Ableton Suite 8 // Nonome 1.2.4 // mlrv 2.0 // Saffire PRO 14 Firewire //

I fried my old M-Audio Fast Track Pro at a show almost a month ago. After borrowing a friend's PreSonus Audiobox USB I noticed horrible popping and distorted signal. Updating the drivers seemed useless and after some research I found out that Pre Sonus doesn't even write exclusive drivers for their products they use pre-existing drivers that do NOT work well W7 64bit. So I switched to the Saffire PRO 14 after reading much about the preamps and overall performance praise. I was horrified when I couldn't even get a clear system sound out of the thing so I immediately exchanged for a new PRO14 thinking the problem was the box itself. When the new Saffire PRO 14 booted up with the same distortion I knew it was not the box. After much reading and research in the forums and messageboards I found that a very common problem with the Saffire PRO 14 PC users is the chipset of the firewire card. I purchased the Focusrite recommended SIIG FW card with a TI chipset and so far all problems have been solved. After more research I found that this problem is common with almost all FW audio interfaces for PC users. IN summary, check your FW card. It's probably the wrong chipset. Hope this helps someone.

After 6 years with a Presonus Firebox, I decided to change. Before the firebox I used the original MBox from digidesign. The pres in that unit sounded great. I did not realize that until I switched to the Presonus. Although the preamps were acceptable, it didn't have that extra something the Focusrite pres delivered. The Saffire 24 brings back that fantastic sound I was missing. Great input options and software that is easy to grasp. I will probably stick with Focusrite for a long time. This unit is quiet and rock solid.

Correction to the January 2010 review that noted problems with Windows 7, 64 bit - As of March 2010 Windows 64bit and OS X Snow Leopard are fully supported by the focusrite drivers (Saffire Mixcontrol 2.0).

I own both the Saffire Pro 24 and the Saffire Pro 24 DSP. Both have been rock solid on both my Windows and Mac boxes. Plenty of I/O options. If I only was going to get one interface I'd get the Pro 24 DSP as the Virtual Reference Monitoring (VRM) is quite impressive.

Another advantage of these interfaces is that they can be used in standalone mode (i.e. without a computer attached). I use this for one of my setups where I have a couple of synths attached to the Saffire Pro 24. If I want to track something out to my DAW it's as simple as hooking up the firewire cable to my laptop and I'm good to go.

I've had the Saffire Pro 24 for a few days now and I haven't found anything not to like. The preamps are inaudible to my ear and I haven't had any problems recording or playing back audio. I'm using it with a Macbook Pro and running OSX 10.6.3. I bought the Pro 24 to replace a competing M-Audio product, which sounded about as good and looked better, but wasn't stable and reliable enough that I would consider using it outside of my studio. The Saffire Pro 24 software provides many more options for setting up routing and mixes as well. And, when I wrote Novation with a question, they responded quickly and helpfully.

I purchased this unit after struggling for over a year to get my Alesis IO14 to function. I was tired of having to shut off my network drives, the USB, my firewall and everything else just to get the IO14 to work for five minutes before constantly glitching or giving me a BSOD. After researching for weeks, I decided to get the PRO 24 and what a difference! I was able to install the drivers and software and have the unit up and running in less than 10 minutes and the sound quality is great! The preamps are far beyond what I expected for the price and the audio output is the cleanest I ever heard. When I first put on my headphones I thought the unit wasn't working because I am so used to equipment that gives a little hiss when it is running. Not with the PRO 24. The mixing software is also excellent and provides tons of options including looping audio from iTunes or Youtube (or any other source on your computer) right into your DAW. This unit also provides room for expansion with 2 XLR inputs, 2 line inputs, 2 SPDIF inputs, and 8 ADAT inputs through a lightpipe. Plus you can link this unit with other PRO 24s or most other Focusrite interfaces. Overall a fantastic unit for the price. I did give the unit 4 stars for features because it does lack the VRM and line effects that are found on the PRO 24 DSP. I personally don't see this as a huge deal since these features and definitely luxuries rather than necessities and I didn't think it was worth paying another $100 for the DSP functions and an extra headphone output. I would recommend this unit for anyone who is serious about recording and needs more than 4 channels without paying an arm and a leg.

If your in the market to upgrade from a Mixtrack pro than this is it! Your looking at a clean & nice finish with quality similar to the NDX lines. It looks as it's an extension to my 2 NDX 400s. Put them together and you got one of the baddest equipment set ups around! Now jumping into the N4 I was disappointed. I knocked off a star cause it's definetly not a plug and play type of thing with doing a bit of tweaking through the software you use. The Mixtrack Pro was so easier to use by just plugging in and play right out the box, but the N4... I think your gonna be alittle frustrated like me. Serato Intro you'll encounter no issues when it comes to plug and play but as for Virtual DJ & Traktor... You may need to pop a few pills of asprin. Virtual DJ PRO your gonna encounter issues trying to hear your cues indvidually through your headphones. Your gonna have to get used to holding shift to use your hot cues and other functions. As for the cross fader being active? Whatever... Now this is coming from using Virtual DJ 7 Pro (b380) and it's purchased! I know it comes with a 4 deck edition of Virtual DJ LE but I prefer 2 decks and use the 2 other lines for its external sources such as my NDXs. It is known you can timecode line 3-4 to Virtual DJ but at this juncture I really don't wanna mix like that cause I found my use better than what Numark tried to market. I'm a novice turntablist and I have a USBs filled with samples. Traktor 2 PRO.... right out the box plug and play... not gonna happen. Your gonna have to go the Numark website to download the map and skin to know where everything is located. N4 is no doubt a powerful device but right out the box, your gonna need to work on a few things to make it work properly. #DJ Okaishun p.s. I sort of rushed into my purchase of the Numark N4. Had I researched it a bit more, honestly I would have ended up buying something else. Unfortunately, at the time of purchase, there wasn't many reviews out there. That being said, at this point, I don't regret my purchase at all. It is an awesome mixer with tons of features, and it is so much fun to work with. It just took some time and frustration to be able to figure out how to get everything to work properly.

First of all, totally not plug and play. I use it with Virtual DJ Pro, and even with help from Numark it took me awhile to get everything working correctly. Sync wasn't working. Headphone cues weren't working. I just now figured out how to get the cross fade to work properly. I even tried to take it back at one point!

I've since used it on a few small gigs, and it has worked great without a hitch. I love that this mixer is 4 channels! I hook my Pioneer CDJs up to it and it works like a charm. It just looks cool! It gets lots of attention. Its going to take a little bit of patience, but once you get all the bugs worked out, you won't regret your purchase! Numark tried really hard to make sure I was satisfied with their product.

As stated in a previous review, this is a GREAT upgrade from a Numark Mixtrack Pro. With 4 channels, (two of which can be external inputs) this mixer gets the job done. It feels a bit heavy, and well built. The chasis is made of plastic, but it still feels like a solid piece of hardware.

I knicked off 1 start because when i first plugged it in to use Serato DJ Intro, THERE WAS NO SOUND!!! I could completly control the program, but was not getting any sound. (Using a mac btw) Once i also installed Virtuasl DJ LE, in that prgram i chose to Numark n4 as the primary audio output source, and everyting worked fine. I re-opened Dj Intro, and the sound was working perfectly. So if anyone has that issue, that is how i fixed it.

There is a faceplate that lays over the top buttons to use with serato, which is very nice and very usefull. The balanced XLR outputs are WONDERFUL, and the sound quality that pumps out of this mixer is of high quality, because it also runs on an external power source. All of the buttons feel very solid, and the faders feel good too. The fader knobs can pop off and on. So if for some reason a fader knob pops off, FEAR NOT, it will pop right back on. The illuminated lights that tell you there is sound is a very nice feature. It helps control the volume really well. Simple plug and play when it came to serato. Virtual DJ i didnt really experiment with, as i dont really like to use it.

Overall....for begginer, and intermediate DJ's, esspecialy mobile Dj's, this is a great mixer. With the option to plug in 2 additional inputs, and a GREAT sounding microphone output (you can mix treble and bass and it sounds great) this is definatly a significant upgrade from a begginers mixer like the Mixtrack Pro, or the DDJ-ERGO by pioneer, or even the DDJ-WEGO. Definatly worth the money. Now grant it, there are other 4 channel mixers out there that are way better than this that feature auto loop knobs, better efeect knobs, etc. But for the price, and how well this mixer performs, you cant beat it. For a fraction of what those other 4 channel mixers cost, this is very WELL worth the money.

I recently received my Numark N4 yesterday. Considering that their are not many reviews about this product and because it's designed by Numark I figured I'd give it a try versus the NS6 which is a little more expensive and this would be a nice upgrade from my Mixtrack. Out of the box it looks and feels great. A lot bigger than I expected and just slightly heavier than the Mixtrack but it has alot of functions not included on Mixtrack. The problem that most will run into like me is that number one apparently Numark is shipping these models w/out the disc's for the Serato Intro & VDJ (as indicated on the box). However after contacting my seller I was advised to simply go to Numark's site for links to download and send request to Numark for authorization code (that you will need in order to operate VDJ/Serato does not require). Once hooked up I generally use Djay or Traktor. Well there's no current mapping for Djay and Traktor Pro2 there is.

My main complaint is trying to figure out the crossfader to work properly and the headphone cues. These do not seem to work whether I'm using Serato/VDJ or Traktor. Nonetheless, until these to main functions are corrected Numark may get alot of compliants.

I've recently purchased the Numark N4 and let me tell you something, it is ideal for DJs like me who are accustom to keyboard mixing with Virtual DJ who want to take that next step into your DJ Career or want to enjoy it as a hobby more. For over 7 years I've been DJing with Virtual DJ and only using the keyboard. I learnt all the concepts of DJing like that and through other DJs. Purchasing this controller is the point where you can break into the more Professional feel of the trait . You can mix in Virtual DJ and Serato Intro which allows you to get more specialized in what you know as well as applying it to a more lightweight and relevant DJ application. The Audio is great ! Controls are amazing, for the price I wasn't expecting this much, but it is as mind blowing as this review is. I recommend it to anyone who's ready to make that leap from bedroom DJ to probably a mobile DJ ? However you look at it, it's the best way to take your first step into the professional arena.

Additionally I've owned the Numark IDJ3 mixed on the Mixtrak Pro and they both are nothing compared to this , buy those things for your son for Christmas they are TOYS. You get the N4 , you advance your skill and it's a piece of software you can hang onto for a decent amount of time (unlike the Numark IDJ3 I owned, sold that after 2 months).
