Nice lightweight high-quality cable extension that works in the maddening recessed jack of the iPhone without adding too much length. Let me preface by saying these cables are the perfect length for fitness. I vigorously exercise (think Crossfit and beyond) at least 5-6 days a week, and wear my Ipod on my upper bicep. I route the cable under my sleeve and up the collar to prevent snagging and bouncing. This setup has worked very well for me for the last 5 years or so. I've gone through about 5-6 of these cables over the last 5 years and I'm on my 3rd pair of Shure earphones (SE115, 2x SE210). Considering the amount of use, the sweat dripping in and on, bumps, etc... they have all lasted well beyond my expectations and are well worth the money. The wraparound design is absolutely tremendous for working out... they don't fall out whether I'm upside down, jumping, running, sprinting, etc. This cable is a most excellent companion to such great earphones.The downfall of this cable is that over time, with the hard use I give it, the way I route it, and the constant bending of the cable at the jacks, one of the connections will eventually fail and the sound will begin to cut in and out, one ear or the other. I've tried to repair it, but it would take an expert with a soldering iron to get it correctly working again. For $15 bucks and about a year of VERY hard use, I consider it a consumable item and worth the money.
I give it 5 stars for being the perfect length, with a caveat that I feel the jacks are a weak point. As the previous reviewer said, the male input jack is skinny enough to get into most cases.

This works for audio BUT not with an iPhone earbuds for volume or a Square CC terminal. The pin DOES fit even with my case on my iPhone BUT it is 3 pin rather than 4.Want Shure EAC9BK 9 inch Earphone Extension Cable Discount?
The only reason I didn't give this a 5 was the hope that I could perhaps attract a little more attention and warn potential buyers of two things:Before buying this, I measured 9" from the end of the wire attached to the earphones to my belt I 'wear' my iPod clipped to my belt. It clearly was long enough. I'm 5'7" with a slightly longer than average torso for a man of my height.
What I didn't account for, and you should, is that:
. I have to turn my head an extreme angle when crossing some streets. I found I can only do this by placing the iPod holder towards the middle of my belt
. In cooler weather, I wear a sweater or sweatshirt. The speaker wire can only go under it, not over.
Another, perhaps more obvious caution. Before buying a new extension cable of any length, make sure it is your current one that has the problem by plugging the actual cable directly into your device. While it is true that the connectors may have problems over time, it is equally true that the same may happen with the actual speaker wire. If that is the case, excellent product that this is, doing everything as stated admirably, your listening experience will not be improved.
