I have actually just replaced the DT 250-80s after 7 years of service ,so I havd had a long time to become familiar with them.

I bought them because I was looking for a sealed can for better work isolation. Were that not an requirement, I'd go open-backed, so I was looking for sealed headphones that had as much as possible of the open and detailed quality that, say, the Grado 80s have. The Beyers don't quite do that, but they are reasonably detailed.

The bass is punchy and articulate, with a sense of pace pressure that differentiates the sound from open cans. That said, this is probably due in part to an exaggerated mid-bass. I don't hugely mind this, as music benefits in terms of rhythm and pace, but I wouldn't call the bass range uncolored.

The treble is good overall. However, like a mirror image of the bass, it's a little exaggerated in the lower treble. This is good news bad news, as it provides sibilance and articulation, but at the expense of neutrality, transparency and soundstage detail.

The result of these bass and treble lumps is that the DT 250-80s has some very appealing rhythmic qualities. Your toes will tap. They just aren't the last word in detail, soundstage or neutrality.

Issues:

Fatigue both aural and physical. The treble peak above gets pretty tiring after a few hours. About the same time for me, my outer ears started to ache from the pad pressure. These are not circumaural, they will press on some part of your ear, depending on how you fiddle with them. For an hour, maybe two, no problem. Beyond that, a break was required.

Construction. The earpiece is attached to headband with a swivel mechanism. The attachment between the earpiece and the swivel mechanism is a tiny, short screw, that after a few years, would continue to unscrew itself, and would often drop out. Then, typically during a sweet, quiet passage, the ear piece would pop out, the sharp end of the swivel would jab me in the temple, and I'd jump up knocking my coffee into my keyboard. OK, the last part only happened once, but that screw came out a half dozen times. This one little thing was poorly engineered, and it was quite frustrating.

Have moved on to the new KRK Systems KNS-8400. Also sealed, similar price point ($150 US). They are similar is some respects to the Beyers, but improve in some key areas: overall balance, comfort (fully circumaural) and long term listenability. I think at this point the DT 250-80 have been superceded technologically, but I'd still recommend them if you can find them for a good price.

I recently purchased these headphones as a replacement to my beloved Sony MDR-V500DJs, which had eventually given up the ghost. I use them mainly with my PC for listening to music, using the internet, and playing games. Therefore, I didn't envisage buying these as professional-grade monitoring equipment.

First of all, I've read in a couple of reviews about the "odd" seven-pin detahable cable, which is secured to the headphone unit by a small screw. It's true that the separate nature of the cable does seem odd at first, but considering that cables can get damaged and that this one can therefore be easily replaced for about £25 without buying an entire new set of cans, it's actually reassuring. Another reassuring thing is the large, proud writing on the box and the headphones themselves declaring "MADE IN GERMANY"; where something is made is always very important to me, because it's that extra guarantee that it will last and has been made with high-quality materials.

Closed-back headphones are often bought by non-professionals because they don't want sound leaking from the unit. These seem to contain sound very well within their velour-cushioned earpads (which, like the cable, also have official spares available online). The adjustable headband is not smothered with protective material, but it's comfortable enough.

Most important, of course, is the sound quality that any audio equipment produces. I always find it acutely difficult to buy any audio equipment without listening to it first, because the tastes of individuals reviewing things like this vary so widely. Some people love accentuated bass, some hate it. Some people say that the sound is coloured by certain cans and hate it, some love them for just that. (Just look up reviews of a range such as Grado's headphones to see what I mean.)

In any case, I really love the deep and balanced sound that these DT-250s provide. Being studio headphones, it has been commented that they will mercilessly expose the flaws in any recording; I've certainly found this true with these, at least when comparing them to the Grado 225is I use with my hifi. I don't see this as such a bad thing: to give as flat and neutral sound as possible is certainly no worse than accentuating certain aspects of a sound range to sweeten it, and it always seems a fairer way to represent something audially. The 80 OHM impedence may not give quite the same kick as some other headphones, but they are more than loud enough when used to listen to music from a PC, the muffled sound that I got from my deceased Sonys when cranking up the preamp on a player such as iTunes has been reduced greatly.

I really like these headphones. As you may have guessed, I'm no audiophile; but a balanced -if admittedly sometimes coldly analyticalsound, excellent sound isolation, good build quality and decent comfort levels means that, to me at least, these headphones tick the boxes required for a good pair of PC headphones.

These earphones are interesting.

Pro: They are sealed, circumaural cans, and the 80-ohm version (the DT 250-80) is easily driven by portable electronics.

Con: The cans themselves are not all that portable, as they're full-sized and don't fold.

Pro: The cord is detachable.

Con: The plug connecting it to the phones is HUGE (about 2 inches long), and the company (or anyone else, for that matter) does not make any cables for this headset except for the stock cable, making a detachable cable pretty pointless.

You get the idea. Sonically, these things are very good for sealed cans, and I carry them regularly with my MP3 player for travel. Although the external noise blocking is not as good as that provided by earplug-type headphones (such as Etymotic 4 series, another of my favorites) it is quite good, and the phones are useable on airplanes. If you want a full-sized set of headphones that can run off a portable, I would recommend these.

Nice cans for the money.

I use them eight hours a day at work at the computer. They are well sealed. So I don't bother the neighbors in other cubes.

I don't really notice them. I can't tell you how high the highs or how low the bass -it's just the music -almost all classical. I took them home and tried them with the head amp and, of course, they sound better, but they are fine on their own. I might look at Headroom's bit-head amplifier since that can run off the USB.

Overall great sound and voice selection with piano-like keyboard feel.

Accompanying software is unimpressive and should not be considered when deciding whether or not to buy.

One main issue: the instrument would have received a 5 star rating but for one annoying trait: When the keys are depressed or released fully and/or quickly, an accompanying thud resounds thru the keyboard at each note as the key hits the keystop both up and down.

For an accomplished player, this might be something easily overcome, however, for those who lack a better skill level, I among them, this is a nuisance that will be of concern to many, even the tin-ear beginner.

Having said that, the instrument seems well crafted, tone quality is exceptional, accompanyment selection very good, as is the overall sound selections.

I would buy again, but would first consider other option where the keyboard thud was not an issue.

This is a great cable to have in your box. Everywhere we find the 3.5mm 1/8" stereo jack and interfacing it to XLR is always important. This is a stereo cable so the tip and ring go to the two different xlrs with a common shield to the cold terminal on the xlr. I'm using it to get analog audio from my pc's audio out jack into my XLR recorder (marantz pmd-661)Marantz PMD661 Portable SD Recorder which has a line level input on the xlr's. I can also adapt xlr mics to pc's mic in with xlr adapter cables.

My PC motheboard has 6 3.5mm TRS jacks from the audio chip out the back, plus an optical connection, which is the order I made with this cable. I also got a 6' lightguide cable and a converter to RCA digital audio for my recorder which now gives me a number of options to link the two.

I've come to trust HOSA cables and these are no let down.

My audio systems are mostly all XLR balanced audio inputs, and occasionally I have to connect to 1/8" TRS stereo outputs, for example my PC. This is the perfect cable because I get the left and right channels in XLR format with a single plug into the pc's audio card / motherboard.

This cable went into immediate use as soon as it arrived and I will probably order another one because it is close to perfect and I have so many 1/8" stereo connections to make on modern pcs.

This combination should be in every cable collection you'll definitely use it.

I would say the mini stereo to XLR cable is fine if you don't expect to remove and re-insert it a lot once you connect it to your speakers. If you plan to set up and tear down a lot you might be better off with a more rugged cable.

I chose the "mini stereo to two XLR" cable over the the "mini stereo to two TRS" cable because I believe the XLR connectors get a more solid connection. Neither cable provides balanced outputs because the mini stereo connector has only three conductors (left channel, right channel and a common ground). The XLR is lightweight and doesn't feel as solid as heavier XLRs.

The insulation is thin. Be careful when separating the left and right connectors to reach your speakers. I didn't realize the moulding which binds the pair of wires can be repositioned by hand because it did not move freely and there was no documentation on how to separate the wires. So I removed it by cutting it and in the process accidentally cut into the insulation on one of the wires. (I know, I'm all thumbs.)

The price is good and the cable length is good but if you are used to heavier XLR connectors these will feel a bit flimsy.

OK, I wrote a review on the WA30 Washburn amp and was very well pleased with it. I ordered the WA20 used from Amazon last week. I received it yesterday and played the same guitar I play through my WA30 and to be honest I can't tell much difference. Now keep in mind the WA30 is a 30 watt amplifier. and the WA20 is only 12 watt. I know that in a larger setting the WA20 would not be large enough. But for home and a small group of people it will work just fine. In fact it might even work where I've been using the WA30. It REALLY SOUNDS GOOD! I can honestly say that Washburn Knows how to make a really quality acoustic amplifier. I am far from an expert on these kind of things. But basically these amps take the already good or even bad sound your guitar makes and reproduces the sound with a louder sound. Which is what you want from an acoustic amplifier. Reproduce the sound just louder. Well worth the money.

I was pleased with the speed of deliver of this product and its overall performance and construction. I have been using the headsets once a week to assist the dance instructors in one of the programs that I participate at as a volunteer. The sound quality is quite good, clear, loud and the range more than ample for a dance floor with over thirty people in a space roughly 40'x40'. I would give this product a better rating ... however, the last two dance sessions, I have noticed that one of the headsets is experiencing some drop-out. I checked the batteries and even replaced them with new ones but the problem is still there albeit less so. Don't know what may be the cause, whether the product has a defect or could it be due to something else, like rf interference or even placement of the receiver. Both headsets functioned quite well initially so I've got my fingers crossed that the problem is not with the equipment.

Purchased this item for use in small group presentations and during initial use it appears to work just fine. Reception is strong and the sound quality is good. The head bands area a little tight and uncomfortable, so we clip the mics on as lavalier mics and they work great. This unit is extremely inexpensive and I was very hesitant to purchase assuming that the low cost also meant low quality. That doesn't seem to be the case. Worth the money.

Happy with the product so far. For such a low price, couldn't have got a better product. Excellent sound quality bought it for Church and do not regret it. Although there are no instructions for assembling the over-the-head microphone, its very simple and easy to figure out ! Did a trial yesterday and seems to work fine.

Will give further review after the mass this sunday the real test !!!

Looked around for a wireless system that would work without the drop-outs...and didn't cost $200.00. This one was the best of both worlds! Comes with 2 wireless mics (head mount & lapel clip for each). Description didn't talk about the lapel clips, but that was a bonus. I teach and on days I wear ties I use the lapel and on days I wear polos I use the head bracket! They have worked great and no student can say they can't hear me! The first thing I must say is that in general I am a purist, and I don't like most electronic instruments. When the church I work for started construction and had to move out of the sanctuary, I had them purchase this organ for me since it's the only one on the market that has classical stops as well as the Hammond and other electronic emulations. I was prepared to not love it but it was the best that could be done without spending from three to ten times more. Then it arrived, I hooked it up to good speakers, and I was absolutely blown away.

The Nord Hammond B3 emulation has been lauded by just about everybody, like all of their vintage sounds. With an adjustable speed rotary speaker as well, I feel like I'm playing in a vintage gospel band. I'm less familiar with how the Vox and Farfisa originals sounded, but they're very good sounds to add to your performance palette.

What surprised me the most, though, was that this instrument has a 21 stop pipe organ. Not just some pipe organ sounds, but individual stops like a real organ or the very expensive Rodgers electronic organs. The sounds are uniformly very high quality, blend very well, and for a Christmas Eve service with good amplification, it sounded like Westminster Abbey. The only thing missing is a pedalboard; Nord has made a prototype of what they call PedalKeys to go with this organ and may be selling it in Europe, and I will be lining up to buy them when they're available in the USA.

At 34 pounds, I can carry this from the back of my car under my arm. Definitely different from most organs that are made from fiberboard and bricks, and the distinctive red color gets comments from my congregation every week. So does the sound! I'm not a total convert to electronic instruments, but I've been so impressed working with this organ that I just bought one of the other Nord keyboards for myself.

I just got rid of my C1 (which I loved to death) and got the new NORD C2... at first I was worried that the differences would be so minuscule that I was taking a loss, but actually, it's not true... they took an INCREDIBLE product and tweaked it to make it even better... especially in terms of the action.

All in all, the sound is incredibly close to a real B3, and the feel is close enough that if you were to play with your eyes shut, you'd really feel like you were at a console, especially if you had the NORD Leslie Half Moon Switch and Pedal Keys 27 hooked up.

Key changes include the lay out, which is much more intuitive for B3 users, for example, the Leslie vibrato controls are on the left hand side and percussion settings on the right.

Some people complain about the lack of physical drawbars... I change drawbar settings a heck of a lot when I play and find the buttons incredibly responsive if you're willing to develop your technique... If anything, they're better than drawbars, because you don't have to worry about knocking them in... also, you can program three pre-sets in real time when you play (as opposed to only two on a real B3) Most REAL players on a B-3 would rely on changing the pre-sets then building the drawbar settings from there... so if you're a real player in that tradition, you'll REALLY have no trouble.

As for the sound, I thought that the C1 was pretty close... the C2 is even better... The reverb is nice and springy. I have a slight issue with how the Leslie speeds up and slows down, but I might just need to fix the settings a bit more (advice: read the manual its simply written and once you learn how to adjust the basic configurations you can make it that much closer to your dream B3.)

Of course, the organ has other organs, but I only use the B3... My only wish was that instead of the other organs it had the clav and Rhodes, so I could play clav on the upper manual and B-3 down below when accompanying sometimes... still, you couldn't do that on a real B3, and as I said, this thing sounds and feels like a B3.

Finally, the biggest point of the C2 is that its only 16 kg. and will fit into a special gig bag that you can order with it... it has wheels, and I took my C1 on trains all over Tokyo and up and down steps. Get it with the music stand and the Leslie switch and you're good to go. The pedals, however, probably won't go on a train... you'll have to leave them home unless you have an extra hand.

All in all... the C1 has taken a marvel and has made it better... and by the way, I *am* a purist, but prefer this thing to the real thing... its portable, reliable and feels and sounds like the real deal !

This organ is a life saver for my purposes. I own the full Hammond xk3, double manuel, foot pedal system and I love it but it is a bit heavy and bulky to take to my gigs. Each piece weighs no less than 65 lbs and includes each manual and the pedal board. Even the bench is heavy but all components are well made and almost authentic to the Hammond B3.

Now I needed something even more portable and that's the Nord C2 Combo organ. It is a godsend. Each component is 30 or less pounds. A delight to tote around and it all fits in the trunk of my compact car.

It sounds like a Hammond B3 and has all the features of the B3 but....physically it is far from the B3. The biggest difference is there are no physical drawbars. Instead there are digital type drawbars which will never take the place of the Hammond-type experience.

I am fine with this to get the weight down which makes it a pleasure to take it out and entertain with a true Hammond Sound. Since I don't make changes in sounds while I'm playing which is the Hammond technigue, I can live without the drawbars. The leslie switch is on my expression pedal and that works fine for me to lift the blood levels of my listeners.

Nice instrument, lightweight and less expensive than the real Hammond, and really fun to play. Not for a true Hammond organist though.

after spending a little more than a year going from clonewheel to clonewheel, I have finally found my organ.I've tried the old, analogue VISCOUNT OP3, the voce v5+. the voce Micro b, the Voce v3 plus midi drawbars, the Oberhiem ob3 squared,I've used all of them with Voce Spin II rotary simulators, plus the Motion sound Pro 3x,not to mention 2 different Speakeasy tube pre amps. I bought all of these, plus i tried the Korgs, the Rolands,.....none of them measured up to what i remembered over a year ago when i played the Nord electro 3. Well,,,,the Nord C2 is even better. I wasn't too interested in any of the Hammond xk's , or the SK's....I probably would like them too, but I couldn't get the overall desireability of the Nord c2 out of my head. It was just TOO seductive to pass up. I'm burned out on organ modules, synth keybeds, multiple stands, stomp boxes, pre amps, signal chains with up to ELEVEN power cords alone.....I had this set up with my bass pedalboard, roland ev5 expression pedal, & roland dp2 rotary toggle swithc in less than 3 minutes. And the SOUND.....this had the grind, the growl, the howl, the purr, the KRUNCH ! I haven't even hooked it up to my Motion sound yet....I LOVE the onboard sim by itself....the drawbuttons are not difficult to deal with, you have the live buffers you can use for the more involved drawbar configurations, like 888888888 or 800008888) & the overdrive is STUNNING ! THE BEST I HAVE HEARD.

The flat cable was nice in that it didn't get tangled as easily, but they were so heavy that they constantly pulled out of my ears. The final straw was that they died on me in less than a month. First the right bud stopped working, then within a week of that the left one was done too.
