I visited Guitar Centre to check some digital drums to add to my home studio. Luckily I met an experienced drummer (also a customer) in the shop who told me these were the best and also at a great price. I bought them on Amazon to save some money. I've now had them 3 weeks. No problems. Easy to set-up. Feels like I'm playing a real kit with the advantage that I can turn down the volume and not annoy the wife! I have not recorded them onto my studio tracks yet but so far they are great!!

Living in an apartment in the city, I used to have a regular acoustic drum kit, but wasn't a fan of the neighbors, who called the cops on me more than once. I sold the kit and used the money to buy this electronic kit on the recommendation of a friend. I'm so glad I did! This is a great value for the money, and is perfect for apartment living. It's compact (taking up MUCH less space than the old acoustic kit), and even folds up if you need to stick it in a closet. It's got 32-preset kits, over 200 unique drum sounds, a metronome, pre-loaded songs (which you can remove the drum track or isolate the bass to play along with), and several unique features to help you improve your playing. The pads have a nice feel, with solid rebound, very similar to an acoustic kit. It even comes with a bass pedal -a $70 value.

You'll need an external amp to generate sound, but it also has a headphone jack if you want to jam into the night and not get a visit from the police. It has an aux input for a cd or mp3 player, so you can play along with your favorite songs as well.

If you're a serious drummer, you're gonna want an acoustic kit. But this is a great practice kit, or a great kit for people who live in a city apartment (like me). I can't say enough about this kit. Great value, a great product.

So i just bought a dtexplorer and so far its been great. I have heard good things about them and needed an electric set to practice with to not disturb my room mates. The set feels great and sounds great. It has 32 pre set drum settings but i have only found that maybe 5 or 6 of them are actually useful, some of them are just weird but fun to play around with. If you need an electric set to practice i would highly suggest this set, because it sounds great and the price is right. Although if you are a professional and need one to record, or are in need of a really technical set this isnt for you. there are a few problems i have found so far. the first is that the hi hat peddle isnt very responsive but not too bad. another is that the lug nuts come loose now and again. other than that though the set is great.

I'd recommend this kit to any drummer who lives in an apartment building or has roommates. Not exactly a high end electronic kit, the DTXplorer nevertheless does its job: it allows you to play and practice in relative silence. The kit is very simple and small, which is great because it takes up very little space and is very portable. For the price, it makes an excellent practice kit. You can run the kit through an amp to create sound, or you simply plug in your headphones and reduce the volume even more. An AUX jack allows you to plug in an mp3 player so you can rock out to your favorite songs. There are about 30 or so drum sounds to select from, but more than half are fairly useless and/or too bizarre to be helpful.

Despite the usefulness of this kit, it does have a few problems you'd expect for the price. The bass drum has a weird "lip" that prevents you from using your own pedals (at least, none of MY other pedals would work). You have to use the pedal supplied, which is fairly low quality. The hi hat pedal is probably the worst part of the kit. It's response is awful, so making hi hat "chirp" sounds is harder than it should be. Complicated open/shut hi hat patterns will sound pretty bad. Also, the kit is not expandable with the current brain. There are only enough inputs for the drums provided, so what you get is what you will have forever.

All in all, I'd say get this if you want a cheap but serviceable practice set. I think it's been well worth the money I spent. I can practice much more than I used to, and it still works great even after a year of heavy use. I think it's a great buy if you don't expect miracles.

After awhile researching the various options, I'm pleased with my purchase of the Yamaha DTXplorer. I was tempted by the Roland TD-4K, which is more expensive. But while we were at the drum store trying out the various models, my kids gravitated more towards the Yamaha. As a drummer in my college years, I wanted something for myself, but also a kit to inspire my children to play. The Yamaha had some fun sounds that, at least in the store, I couldn't get out of the Roland. I really do enjoy the feel of playing this kit. As mentioned by another reviewer, the hi-hat is not always as sensitive as it could be (but it may just require more adjustment). With this set you cannot choke the cymbals and do other things like on the Roland, but I do enjoy jammin' to classic rock tunes on my iPod. And, the kids are playing it as well. In general, I wish they would add a feature whereby you can download additional drum sounds or even kits from specific drummers. The Charlie Watts/Keith Moon/Neil Peart collection....Imagine the possibilities.

I've had various travel guitarsI have a Taylor Big Baby, and used to own a Martin Backpackerbut I was looking for something that was more portable than eithersomething small enough to pack inside a suitcase and carry on vacation. I wasn't looking something with great sound, or something stageworthy, just something with a full sized neck to practice on when I was away from home.

I tried one of the Travelers that comes with both piezo and magnetic pickups at a local guitar discount chain, and I liked the feel (though not the painted finish); it was the only model they had, so I decided to do a buit more research into the range. Back home, I looked at the Traveler Guitars web site, and this model caught my eyeno electronics, piezo pickup only, but it was light, tiny, and came in an attractive natural finish. And the price was right, too. I decided to chance it.

It arrived this morning, and I've been playing with it most of the day. Fit and finish is very good, if simple, and the feel of the neck is excellent. The neck in particular shows a lot of care, with all the frets carefully hand-filed and shapedno sharp edges here, like on so many inexpensive imports. Traveler is either doing a lot of QC on these guitars when they arrive, or they've found a really good shop to produce them.

Despite the odd shape and lack of a headstock, it's easy to play. I found that a strap was more comfortable for me than the clip-on lap support, but thanks to the light weight, even without the strap or the lap support it's easy to hold.

Plugged into a standard guitar ampa Tech21 Trademark 30the sound was not very goodtoo much of that piezo twang, and an uneven balance. But plugged into the high-impedance (10 megohm) input of my Acoustic Image Contra, the sound was surprisingly goodbetter than a lot of much more expensive, piezo outfitted instruments I've tried. Using my K&K Preamp with a short (6") patch cord also delivered a much improved sound.

In summary, I'm very happy with this guitar (in fact, I've got in on my lap as I type this). It's tiny enough to travel everywhere, and with the right amplification, it sounds very good. In fact, I'm thinking the Traveler bass guitar might be a nice addition to the collection, too.

This is no Strat. It is no Dreadnaught. But it is a very nice little practice guitar. Fit and finish make it a real musical instrument, not a toy. Stays in tune. Sounds very good through a Rowland Micro Cube amp. I haven't found a satisfactory headphone amp yet.

First of all I love this as a travel guitar. And I'm considering adding other models to my collection, even though I don't really need them. It took me a while to decide if I wanted the Original Escape, the Pro, or the Ultra Light-Acoustic or Electric. In the end I bought the Ultra-light Acoustic.

I wanted something super small so I wouldn't have some excuse not to take it with me on long overseas trips. I really liked the Pro, but I wasn't thrilled about the little wooden leg support. And unlike my ultra-light which I have the option of not using, the pro-needs the wooden leg attached to work, and it seems like it would take more time to set up. The metal leg brace on the ultra pops in a second (it looks weird but it works nicely!)

And there are a few reports of the pro and the wood brace cracking as well. So I decided to stay away from it.

The ultra Light has a nice ebony fretboard, the tuning is a little odd, but you quickly get used to it. Changing strings takes a little getting used to but isn't really a problem. The Guitar seems to stay in tune very well and the neck was nice and straight with no Truss adjustments needed..

There is no volume adjustment, so you need to adjust the volume from your amp. Sounds from the Pizo pickup is good, and when I went into my VOX AC-30 with a little overdrive sounded just like an electric guitar...

My major issue was the the string action, admittedly I like really low string action on acoustics and ones that tend to play like electrics(I like taylor acoustics for this reason). But the action as shipped was usable at the low frets, but at the higher frets above about 12 made flat picking a chore.

However I simply adjusted the saddle (basically a guitar setup procedure where you file/sand down the saddle until you get to the string height). If you know how to do this aready it is pretty easy on this guitar as the saddle is removable, if not then any guitar shop/Luthor will do it for you.

Once I adjusted this, I love the feel. I have acoustic strings on it and it feels a lot like my Les Paul or my Taylors. (Note it has a 24 1/2" scale which is on the low side of what is considered a standard. Les Pauls are ~24 3/4, Strats are 25 1/2". But it is certainly normal, not short like some of the other funky travel guitars out there.

To compare, I did first buy a Washburn Rover which had glowing reviews, however I thought it was a piece of junk. Very toy like and had terrible neck feel and string action. Returned it right away. However this is a very playable guitar even for an experiance guitarist like my self. Good for travel and just practicing on the couch.

However be aware that with acoustic strings you aren't going to get much sound out of it without an amp (compared to a normal acoustic). I don't really care since I often play or practice my electrics not plugged in. So this probably isn't for you if you want to sit around the campfire and entertain. However I would recommend for an easy guitar to take with you anywhere.

In it's case it is really small and easily carried over shoulder and can be wedged into a tight space in a bag bin on an airplane. Looks kind of like a short shotgun when in it's case..

The Traveler Ultra Light serves it's purpose as an easily packable full-scale travel guitar. Put on a decent strap and it's not hard to get use to playing. The problem I have encountered is that it does not have a built in headphone amp and I haven't found one that is very compatible with it. The Pocket Rock-it sounds pretty good but the positioning and size of it make it awkward to use since it gets in the way of your strumming arm. I bought a Dean Markley travel amp with a 3" speaker and it doesn't sound very good with the piezo pick-up on the guitar. Its very "quacky" and plastic sounding. Plugged into a full-size amp, this guitar sounds great but that kind of defeats the purpose of the travel concept. I have never tried the Traveler Pro-Series, which has the piezo pick-up, single coil pick-up and stethophone or the Traveler Escape, which has a built in headphone amp but I would recommend those over the Ultra-Light. The materials on the Ultra-Light are high quality and it is very well made so I would think other products from this company are as well. I will probably buy another Traveler brand guitar in the future.

After looking at many of the travel guitars I decided to purchase the Traveller Ultra-light. At 3 pounds and 28 inches it fits nicely into my 28" rolling airline bag. The quality is excellent. I use it with a laptop computer as an amp while on the road. I am very happy with this Guitar.

I purchased these after some research and thought they'd be perfect. The cord is of a durable quality, the push to talk microphone is a nice touch and the sweat proof material is great. However, the sound quality is mediocre and provides a minuscule difference if any compared to my prior $10 set. The deal breaker however is that the "wire ear hooks" are more of a nuisance than helpful. They add extra weight and can sometimes pull the ear-buds out of your ears if you turn your head at the wrong angle. The ear hooks also make wearing sunglasses difficult or uncomfortable. So to combat this, I've tried running & cycling after straightening the wire hooks. But they just add too much weight that inevitably pulls out / loosens the ear buds.

These could be a great set of head phones for working out if the ear wires were changed.

I love these head phones so much! When ever I run or workout, I always end up having problems with my headphones. They either fall out, get loose or end up breaking from all of my sweat. These are perfect because you can wash them after you run or work out. I have to give em credit for the ear fitting they did on these as well! You can mold these to however your ear is shaped and plus the extra ear-set pieces are another saver that you usually dont get with head phones. Very happy to have these headphones in my bag of Audio gear. I would recommend these to anyone, especially anyone serious about training and equipment.

I probably use headphones the majority of my day I spend most hours at work with headphones in listening either to music or podcasts. But while I have some perfectly fine OTE headphones for work, obviously those aren't going to fly on my runs.

I got these as a gift from a friend of mine, and I have to say that they've been great. The sound quality is very, very good, but I have to say that where they definitely shine though is when I'm doing anything active working out and/or running I don't think I've ever had headphones that fit so well and comfortably, and also stay put so firmly during whatever workout I'm doing.

I highly recommend these!

When I got these I was pleasantly surprised by both the sound quality and the overall build quality. Probably the best feeling and sounding cans you can get for this price. But after a month, the cable suddenly snapped right where the once-handy volume control was. I was very surprised how easily it severed right off. I then managed to pull off the other end of the volume control with disturbing ease. I can't just solder the wires together, because they do not pass a signal without the volume control, so the set was rendered useless. Huge bummer, because again, I really liked how these sounded. This is a relatively new model, and I was pretty generous with the star rating here, so maybe Pyle Pro can fix this problem soon. Don't buy these unless you're ready to be extremely careful with the volume control.

They were cheap enough and on super sale so I bought five pairs because we are really rough on headphones here. They sound OK I suppose. Comparable to low end Sonys or Behringers, nothing like the Beyerdynamics that I keep locked up for special occasions. When the first pair got crunched under a fork lift I decided to take it apart. There is no turbo anywhere inside these things! That's false advertising isn't it?

we looked around for a lot of karaoke machines and this one definately delivered. Exactly what we were looking for. We are really disappointed with this product. The b/w screen kept going in and out of focus making it impossible to read the lyrics or view the screen. Clearly there is a product defect. For this reason I do not recommend buying any products from this company.

Unfortunately, this was our "big" present to our 10 year old from Santa. So we are unhappily sending it back to the workshop so that maybe the elves can fix it.

This was the main gift for our eight year old daughter. We opened it, plugged it in and the cd driver wouldn't open. On top of that, the sound didn't work on the microphone. We tried to return or exchange the product, but Sky Box wouldn't do it because we had bought the month before...of course we had never opened it. We bought it for Christmas & let it sit until then. The singing machine with the monitor and the video camera is really a good little product. The karaoke machine works great. The video camera part of the machine is so, so. When you play the words on the small monitor, the picture shakes on occassion causing you to lose your place when you're singing. It is better to play the words on a large tv (which is what we normally do). The video camera part is kind of boring because you can either see yourself on the screen OR read the lyrics of the song not both. You have to set it up so that you read the lyrics on the monitor and people can see you on a big screen. We found that after a while the monitor feature is boring and useless. We always end up using the machine the plain, simple way(using it only for playing the cd's and showing the lyrics on a tv screen.) It's a good little karaoke machine lightweight, very portable and compatible with almost all karaoke cdg's with the exception of the ones at Best Buy. For the money, it's a great little machine.

I bought this to replace a Memorex, which lasted about 5 years. I had some initial problems such as the microphone didn't connect and when I sang, the music faded in & out both these problems worked themselves out with use. Now working fine the only problem remaining is the dials are hard to see. This machine is Okay for the price its hard to fine a better machine if you want a portable one with a built in screen and a price around $100

This is the first headset I've been completely happy with. Previously, I struggled with ear pads that were small and uncomfortably hard along with microphones that could not be adjusted properly.

I no longer struggle.

This headset is completely comfortable, and the microphone produces clear, intelligible speech. I use it with Dragon Naturally Speaking and couldn't be more pleased with the results.

Been happy with this headset. The foam earcushions were a bit tight and brittle, so, as a public service for others buying this product, be patient and careful slipping them on. I have contacted Sennheiser and other suppliers: Nobody seems to know where I could get a replacement pair. I've been using this for about six weeks. It replaced a cheap $20 unit that had one earpiece and a boom mike that had inadequate pickup.

First, the earpieces. I'd heard that some folks had complaints about these things being delicate and difficult to replace. It came with two extras. The sound quality in the earpieces is phenomenal. It is LOUD! I have to turn down the volume on my phone all the way usually. In the occasional situations where someone calls me with a really weak voice, I can turn up the sound and no problem. So the sound that the earpieces produce is nothing short of outstanding.

Second, the boom mike. I tested it with several folks who said good things about the sound quality. It seems best with the mike about two inches from my mouth.

Third, the headset comfort. My only complaint about the performance of this thing is that the padding on the headset (i.e., where the frame touches your head) is inadequately padded. It could use some more padding. It would be nice if it were padded all across the top of the frame, instead of being padding-free in the middle. So its comfort suffers somewhat because of this. If I wore it all the time, this would be a bigger deal. Fortunately, I only put it on when talking on the phone, so this is less of an issue for me.

Note that you MUST buy a separate piece in order for this to work for you! This unit will NOT plug into your phone. You need to buy an adapter that plugs into your phone. Exactly which one is appropriate for you depends on the phone. For me, I needed a CCEL-191 headset cable ($22.18), which works fine.

Overall, while this thing is really pretty pricey, I'm quite happy with it.

I really don't think I could have found a better keyboard at the price of the Casio CTK3000. After much research, I decided on this keyboard because of the number of keys and the fact that it came with a stowaway stand, headphones and charger. For me, an adult who is just learning piano, it was essential for me to have headphones so I wasn't disturbing everyone in the house. The keyboard is really easy to use. I didn't even read any of the instructions. I just plugged it in and started practicing.

The stand is a little difficult to adjust and it doesn't attach as securely to the stand as I would like it to, but it's not unstable or anything. The keyboard sort of just sits on top of the stand. This is not a problem for an adult, but if you're looking at getting this keyboard for a child, then you may want to take that into account. This keyboard also works great on a regular table, as long as you have one that is at an appropriate height for practicing. I use the keyboard on the tabletop more than I use it on the stand, but I'm glad I have the stand for those times that I do need to use it.

The keyboard also comes with a little bar that you insert into the back of the keyboard to hold your sheet music or lesson book. There is a groove at the top center of the keyboard to prevent the sheet music/book from slipping. I found that the other reviews I read and the product description didn't note that the keyboard does have a space to hold music. Of course that may be something that is just standard on keyboards, but, as a piano novice, I was not aware of this.

Bottom line, I think this keyboard is excellent quality for the price and will last a beginner quite a while.

For a complete beginner like me, this package (keyboard + stand + headphones + AC adapter) has been ideal. An experienced friend recommended that I opt for a touch-sensitive keyboard, and it has indeed been the right way to go. You could surely learn on a lesser keyboard that doesn't have the touch response, but it wouldn't sound very good, and you'd want to upgrade pretty quickly.

It has quite a number of alternative tones, which I seldom use other than when just goofing around, and a large number of rhythm tracks and some other digital effects that I've not needed either, but they're on there & they work.

I've also not experimented with the USB, MP3 or MIDI I/O functions, as mine didn't seem to come with any connectors for those. The irony is, I would think people who need that stuff would probably also get a fancier keyboard, but who knows...

This keyboard does have some built in "instruction" functions that are kind of fun and have a very patient way of helping you along, but they are more geared toward the total newbie, in that they help you familiarize yourself with using all fingers on your hands and playing in time with accompaniment. An interesting feature is, when you get stuck in a song, the accompaniment will stop and wait on you, and a voice will speak the number of the finger you should be using ("One" = thumb, etc). Once you hit the right key, the song will move on with you. It doesn't do much for helping you to actually read music in my opinion, but that would be a lot to ask. The digital readout during the lesson will show you the proper key(s) to press on a key diagram, which finger(s) to use on a hand diagram, and does in fact have the note(s) shown on a staff, but the staff is teeny tiny and not very useful for learning to translate a note to a piano key. You'll want to seek that level of instruction elsewhere.

It would have been even better to have a package that also included the sustain pedal, but that omission hasn't at all been a problem at this early stage. Those are for sale individually if you want one.

I highly recommend this as a starter keyboard. I would not rely on it as your sole instruction resource. At the very least, get a "for dummies" book or something to get yourself started reading music.

I bought this for a friend who needed an inexpensive practice piano, thus Casio came to mind. What surprised me (and somewhat disappointed me, because of the shipping costs) was that 80% of this package's weight is solely devoted to the stand. The stand is supposedly a Stage Stand, even though being a bit flimsy.

The keyboard is ready to plug n start playing. The sounds aren't the best, but for the price it serves as a home practice or for classes/schools who need an extra keyboard. There are the general options in which most Casio budget keyboard come with. Reveerb, Touch Response, you can octave shift 1 octave up or down, which is handy for a keyboard this size.

The computer hook up I must remind you if you're planning to buy this keyboard; it does not include a USB cable. The Keyboard does get immediately recognized on Windows Vista and ready to be used as a MIDI Controller. Very handy, especially if you have better sample libraries for piano and other instruments.

The headphones are a nice bonus.

If you want to learn piano, this is the best product on Amazon. It's the best deal for your money. The accessories are must haves, and the keyboard itself is in great shape and has everything you could need for a beginner. It doesn't have the full 88 keys of a regular piano but that's not necessary for a beginner. If you're thinking of buying a "starter piano" this is the best one there is.

My only gripe is the holder for the music on the keyboard isn't the greatest.

Casio CTK 3000 arrived today. Everything checks out okay. The keyboard sounds good and the stand is very stable. I feel like I made a great purchase. I purchased the keyboard, adapter, stand, headphones and recieved free shipping besides, now its up to me to learn how to play. Amazon was very prompt with the shipping. I am very satisfied with the touch sensitive keys and the Grand Piano tone.

The cover gets the job done, keeps the dust out and fits nicely. Nothing special, just does what it's supposed to. No hole for lamp or headphones, not really a problem though.

Great cover for a great board. One design flaw. When we cover our board we leave the headphones plugged in. The cover is not designed for that. I had to take scissors and cut my nice new cover for my mixer to make a way to cover the board with the headphones still plugged in. Othewise, great product!
