I found one of these at a local pawn shop a few days ago for $150.00 .... a good friend of mine has an Orange rig and highly recommends the brand , so I briefly tried it out using the crappy bass the pawn shop had hanging on the wall...I was impressed with how loud it sounded....so I bit. Took it home and played my Rickenbacker 4001v63 (single coil pickups) through it and MAN did it sound good!! Very crisp and punchy.... then used it this morning as a monitor and through our churches sound system....same thing! I only had it turned up to "5" and the gain up around "3" very crisp and clear....I was amazed at this little amp! .... plus , it looks cool with the orange covering ;^)

Perfect little amp for small to medium sized church venue or similar setting. We have drums, guitars and keyboards and 250 people singing and this thing had a presence unlike I've heard with any other similar sized practice type amps....

If this were stolen from me, I would buy another at RETAIL price!

If you're looking for something with a bit of power to it but you're NOT willing to invest in a full-on head-and-cabinet rig typically only needed for touring, this is pretty much the middle ground between the best practice amps and the somewhat lower end of gigging amps. It has incredible "boom" to it I keep my gain on 3 and my volume less than 1 during practice and it still packs serious punch on those low settings with a deep, strong tone. VERY well-suited to high-gain tones and distortion, but also very good for punchy clean tones. It can certainly go loud enough to compete with drums, so it might suit you for small gigs, though of course your mileage may vary.

Additional notes: the orange color stands out and looks cool and the amp itself is surprisingly light it weighs less than my 35 W pignose combo amp.

This cable is THICK. It screams quality and looks heavy duty. Sound quality is excellent as expected.

The two cables have separated from each other in the middle after many people have stepped on them, swung them all over the place, etc. Used for parties in my condo. Still works great however.

The plastic around the 3.5mm connector is quite large so you will need to take the case off of your phone if you plan on plugging it into it.

Same results as other reviewer. Does not provide audio or charging for Galaxy S4. I cut off the micro USB end and wired a new one on that I wired properly (correct audio channels and resistor for docking/external audio) and it would work but it will only charge at 0.7amps because of the ridiculously small gauge wire. It also has no shielding at all so the audio quality is awful.

The cable is quite good and works as promised. When connected to Samsung Galaxy S III, the phone goes into car mode and so the screen doesn't shut off. ALso, the sound through the AUX input is much better with reduction in noise. However, my cable's outer housing has given away at the point of the USB power point. IT still works well, but I can seen the copper wires through the housing and worry about a short circuit. I wish the QC was better at the source. Otherwise, I would recommend the cable.

I purchased these headphones much cheaper than the listed price. They are a solid build but not very comfortable for long periods of time. I use them now as back up monitor headphones..the bass is a bit overwhelming but can be tamed with proper eq setting. The mids are really good but the highs lack that punch..overall they are solid headphones to have in your studio or DJ bag, they aren't a one and all headphone set but can be use as back up monitor headphones..it's all-ways good to make music you record sound good on anything and you can achieve that with these.

We do educational workshops, frequently with two presenters. On my shelf are two much-more-expensive, single lavaliere, wireless microphones; I hate using them. It's not just the problem of needing two receivers, it's that the lavaliere's don't have a "standby" or "mute" option. And you get static if you turn one of them off.

I originally ordered one of these sets for use and testing. They're not great, and I've got to do some balancing on our soundboard. But they're much more functional than what we had before. And, given the price, I'm not as reticent to let facilitators take a set to an off-site presentation.

For some facilitators, we've got to use the headset, as the lapel mike just doesn't pick up well enough. But the headset really improves quality. For other presenters who are naturally louder, it's not a problem.

I've since ordered another set of these, and an Audio2000s set of wireless handhelds. They should be adequate for our needs at our next big event.

Also, many of or portable speakers have only one XLR port. An XLR "Y" cable lets us run both mikes into one speaker, and then we balance out with the adjustments on the receiver with volume controlled at the speaker. A perfect and ideal solution? Nope. But it works well for our needs.

These aren't stellar microphones, but you get more than you'd think for the price.

Bought to use with XL2; however, tried it with song recordings and works fairly well.

Mic is really sensitive; so as little external noise as possible needed and sound should be adjusted through mixer or recording device. Best setting for me on audio has been Mid balance... range is nice with line of sight.

Saw complaints of interference -none yet for me.

Clips are easy to remove and windscreen seems to work fairly well.

Lavs are made of light plastic; so, dropping either on a hard surface should be highly discouraged.

So far, I like them... and they work as advertised.

This is an unbelievable quality product for the price. It is perfect for everyday use. For complete vesatility I added the handheld to the set.

This is a nice, integrated unit. The unit has very good sound quality, and it is not sensitive to feedback. What a great price! I've bought 5 of these units for our Salsa dance instructors and we couldn't be happier with them. They are the least expensive units that I can find that actually work very well! I use these units at up to 90 foot range, no problems. VERY low noise! Very solid too. SO much better than the crappy Mason units I've used. PS, I looked at the review by John E. Rutledge and he gave the unit 2 stars saying that the unit didn't come with the headsets. I can only guess that John bought the wrong unit (they can be ordered with different options) because my unit came exactly as shown in the picture.

I bought the X100 wayyy back in the early 90's, and it was way ahead of it's time. Built in chorus, reverb, it sounded excellent. For some reason, it no longer works, and given my loyalty to SR&D Rockman product line, I didn't want to try anything else, I wanted to buy another Rockman headphone amp. So I opted for this one. Today, Dunlop owns SR&D. The Dunlop website doesn't show you much, and it's not clear on what the difference is between the different Rockman Ace products. What's worse is that it doesn't show you the controls on top. Because of my loyalty, I bought it anyway.

Here's what you get. A stripped down version of the X100, a clean sound, and 2 types of distortion, one heavier than the other. The cleaner distortion, takes a second to build up to a heavier sound, it's hard to describe. It starts out like a light distortion, then gets heavier. Not sure why Dunlop would release a product that does this.

I have the classic Rockman rack effects when it was under SR&D, before Dunlop bought the product line. Those products are worth every penny, and I haven't found anything that comes close to sound you get from those effects. I don't know why Dunlop has killed the product line, and offering a watered down version of the best headphone amp ever, the X100, not to mention they discontinued all the rack effects.

The price you pay here on Amazon, is worth it. I wouldn't pay full price for this unit. It's ok, it's not great, or the wow I get from the X100, and maybe there's something else that's better, and worth paying more money for and would have added effects.

I bought this violin six months ago just to see if I could learn to play, never touched a violin before and I'm almost 45 yrs old. The sound is good but not great. Putting it though a guitar affects box (cost almost as much as the violin!) helps a lot, you can really tweak the sound to whatever you want. I have actually learned to play, only lessons being online youtube lessons and student study books. You can really learn to play and have fun at home with this one. I changed to 'better' strings but I can't tell a difference, save your money for your next violin. I bought a 15W practice amp, wish I'd gotten one a little bigger but it is ok. I also like that you can plug in headphones and practice in 'silent' mode. My only complaint is that the electronic module is pretty cheap and the headphone jack is now intermittant and takes some fiddling to get it to work now but a minor fault. Also, buy a cheap tuner so you can get it tuned correctly. If it is out of tune even slightly it will be impossible to learn the fingerings. If you already play violin you pobably won't be satisfied with this, but for a test run at electric violin this one will get you started. One more thing it looks really 'cool' as the kids say. Have fun.

I bought one of these a few months ago. The thing you need to understand about cecilio instruments is they do not arrive in a playable state. The bridge was wrong, the fingerboard was not radiused and relief was wrong. Pegs were over lubricated. You might as well throw the bow away. The case is a pretty piece of styrofoam.

Its not worth taking to a luthier. If you can radius the fingerboard and get proper relief and carve a new bridge and carve a new nut youself then buy one of these. Or if you want to learn how to set up a violin then its a fun project. Otherwise forget them and get a Yamaha Silent Violin.

I did not want to spend $1000.00 for a Violin . So I decided on the Cecilio.. I'm Glade that I went with the Cecilio. I run it though my guitar pod and amp and it sounds great. The only thing I did to mine is adjusted the bridge to get the string height that I wanted. Great Violin for the Price .

I'm a new player. Everything sounds scratchy and terrible until I actually get comfortable with the song. Directly into headphones or speakers, I miss the sound that reverberates out of the body of the acoustic violin. But this is an electric violin, so when it is plugged into electric guitar amps and accessories, it can make music unlike anything that can be made with an acoustic violin alone.

It takes a lot of getting used to because the sound is so different and it comes from different directions.

I initially ordered it so I can practice at 4 am when I get up. However, it is still way too loud to do that with the family asleep in a nearby room.

That being said, during the day, when there are other noises about, I can practice in the next room and not disturb those watching TV or listening to music. Sometimes I can practice and after putting it up get reminded to do my practice.

The headphones that come with it suck. I got some good ones that cover the ears and keep out noise so my practice is not disturbed by surrounding sounds.

I love it. But it took some getting used to. I find it is better not to learn new songs on it, but to practice songs I already know. The sound is different than the acoustic violin, but much better when combined with the right amp and accessories.

I have had several high quality headphones throughout the years, ranging from stunning over the ear/full size Sennheisers to my favorite Klipsch x10s (In Ear Monitors), which are next to impossible to surpass in clarity and sound stage.

I wanted headphones for the gym that were wireless, as the wire can often get caught on a machine and pull abruptly out of your ear. Not a pleasant experience!

From the same sound fidelity enthusiast founded company as my x10s, these Klipsch Image One Bluetooth Headphones have received quite a few negative reviews, and while I fully agree that the bass is slightly exaggerated, the main point is that there is a big market for those of us who prefer a mostly flat frequency response with a little extra bass energy/intensity to more deeply immerse us in our music, thereby enhancing our physical energy which while exercising, for example, or doing housework or at work, can add to the listeners' productivity.

I absolutely confirm that the drivers in these headphones warm up/cool down and all around balance out to deliver exquisite sound reproduction across the full frequency range in all music genres after a few weeks' regular use. Bottom line, let them play continuously during the night time connected to a media device for about a total of 80 hours "break-in" time. My experience using these headphones while listening to vastly different music genres, not all of which benefit from bass enhancement, reveal that after using these Klipsch Image Ones for about a month of break-in time, they start to create a noticeably broader sound stage and much less muddled mid-range reaching to ultra clear highs with no distortion on either end of the frequency range.

These Klipsch sound truly amazing after this break-in period, and are as good as, if not better than, my pair of Sennheiser MM400s, which also deliver spectacular sound reproduction with a less enhanced bass response. These headphones have low resistance, so the music when set on high volume is, in my opinion, way too loud for comfortable long term listening. That means that at lower than peak volumes, the headphones respond to music data imput more efficiently and produce cleaner sounds across the entire spectrum... this enhances every single type of music you could pass through it.

Both pair put a huge smile on my face every day I wear them, and I wish you all that wonderful sensation of enjoying your familiar music like you are listening to it again for the first time with much more depth, and special separation and clarity.

Did I mention that they're absolutely gorgeous? Really are a combo of classic, trendy and fun. The real leather (and that wonderful smell of leather) on the high shine housing with Chrome accents and the Klipsch logo (which doubles on the left headphone as the power/sync button!) all blend seamlessly and look kick ass.

The headphones have user friendly, intuitive and sturdy controls on the right headphone that only take a few uses to master. The plastic housing seems to be strong and not brittle, and the leather accents on the headband and earcups are a very soft smooth leather.

The battery lasts me almost a whole week of 2 hour daily usage, but then dies within 15 mins. of the low battery warning signal. They fully charge in under 2 hours. The Bluetooth connectivity with my Galaxy S4 has been stable with no unexpected disconnections. It must be the aptX connection. I tried them with my older galaxy Infuse and the connection was less stable.

The earcup memory foam is a softer density than a Tempur Pedic mattress and feels extremely comfortable even after an hour use or more. The smooth earcup cover instead of a hollow one rests perfectly on the ear to seal out some external noise, although these are not noise cancelling they do an acceptable job of muting out most ambient noise.

I very highly recommend these super high quality headphones to anyone who wants to have the option to rock out doing an activity, or to just sit back, relax, and enjoy your listening experience.

I had the corded version of this headphone and loved it so I decided to purchase the bluetooth version when it was on sale for the steal of a price $99. However, seller fulfilled my order with the corded version instead. Said it was an Amazon error that the sale price of $99 was NOT for the bluetooth version. They did not honor the $99 price, but did give me a great deal none-the-less for the bluetooth replacement. I LOVE this headphone!! I can have my google tablet on the kitchen table and walk the dog outdoors and I am still connected as long as I stay close to the house! These headphones are comfortable for hours. I am surprised at the positive reviews. The first few minutes I noticed you could hardly hear the drums without external speakers. After a few hours of use I started hearing electrical hum. I really wish I never bought this at all, my 4 year old was so happy, but suddenly it stopped working. After a few minutes it would work again, but making buzzing sounds, and drums would work for a minute and then stop again. I am going to buy a name brand set after using this one. Will be sending it right back after 1 day of use.

I'd go to a musical instrument store, & compare with the others before buying, next-time:

as another said, the sounds are damn weak ( some sounds are apparently wavetable, and others are...

wavetable copies of FM-synth? )

So, it's got lots of different patterns

( 8-beat patterns, 16-beat patterns, Latin, etc )

and the LEDs on the pads light to identify when one SHOULD be hitting the pad,

and one can disable the drum from the playing-tune

( so that the only drum one hears is one's own drumming ),

and one can speed-up/slow-down the tunes...

For the money, I don't know that this can be beat

( I'd definitely go compare with the Yamaha ones, though...

partly because when one switches "kit", one doesn't get to choose by individual pad,

this IS a $35 item..,

and with only 4 pads, it's often impossible to get a group-of-sounds that one wants to practice with... )

There are 3 musical intelligences:

Melody,

Harmony,

& Rhythm.

Celine Dion gets Melody, but not Harmony.

Liberace & Elton John get filling-in Harmony, but can't match even the simplest Fugue.

Bach Fugues ARE Harmony-dance, far beyond what most nowadays have heard.

But, none of those train one in syncopation/rhythm.

This little "toy" does.

I'm using this to get the basic coordination into me BEFORE going & spending money on lessons.

( next is to mix this with a training-DVD, so I get further before the expensive tutoring/lessons! )

As with any resource,

IF USED COMPETENTLY, it can create great difference in one's capability.

The pads are MUCH better than with many cheap brands, btw...

Also, it can run on 6x "c" batteries ( alkaline ), should one need to do that, for some reason...

It does come with its AC-adapter.

I recently picked this up for the sole purpose of podcasting. After doing some research I found out that this recording interface works over USB 2.0 . Because of that, the iO4 can record four 16-bit mono tracks simultaneously (or two 24-bit stereo tracks). In the event of a microphone going on the fritz for a period of time or someone sneezing into the mic, you can easily mute/delete that sound portion from that one microphone rather than mute/delete the entire podcast. This helps post-production tremendously.

In terms of sound quality, the iO4 delivers. I would recommend taking advantage of your recording software's "mute frequencies below 10hz" option as this helps any low hum you may hear. However, it is hardly detectable without the mute. I have an Audio Technica AT2020 as well as a Shure SM58 and the recording device's mic preamps do great.

There are two things that are somewhat bothersome with this recording device. The first is the dB gain. In order for your microphone to even register on the dB scale, it has to be set at about 70% or greater on my condenser mic (AT2020). For the dynamic mic (Shure SM58), I have to turn it up to 85% or greater. This doesn't give you a lot of room to mess around with the volume. The slightest movements of the knobs in this range can drastically alter your volume levels.

The other issue I have is the power cable. It is a mere 4'5' long. If you have this on top of a desk, this isn't a problem. However, plugging into a wall outlet and moving the device to the center of the room will result in the cable being fully extended. As a result, this leaves the iO4 to potentially be knocked off whatever you have it resting on every time someone walks by.

However, neither of these are enough of a deterrent to not recommend this device. If you are looking into podcasting on the cheap, this is a good place to start.

EDIT: One item to note is that the dB gain isn't enough to push a mic such as the Shure SM7B. In the event you have more expensive microphones, you might not be able to pinch pennies when it comes to your mixer.

If you've done computer based recording, you know what a difference drivers can make. In my opinion, a company's continued commit to solid drivers makes all the difference in how well a unit like this functions. Unfortunately, Alesis doesn't even develop a driver for this unit at all. Instead, they rely on default operating system drivers and a third party driver calls ASIO4All. Those drivers don't cut it for professional purposes. I couldn't get it below 20 milliseconds of latency with out dropouts. In comparison, I plugged in an old Native Instruments (NI) interface and achieved 5 milliseconds. NI still updates their drivers for this discontinued product to ensure that they continue to work well and work on new operating systems. It doesn't look like Alesis is even interested in writing a driver in the first place, and certainly is not going to support a driver for this unit in the future.

In short, products from some companies will not work well without good drivers, or will turn into expensive doorstops when they stop supporting the product for the latest operating system. My advice: Choose a company that stands behind their products by writing and maintaining good drivers.

First of all, this interface doesn't include ASIO drivers. Instead, it ask you to download ASIO4ALL.

24 bits only if two channels used (well, you already know this before purchasing).

Mine came with a noisy preamp, when raising the gain more 75%, the noise is noticeable. So, if you want a really clean recording it won't do, else, it will be ok.

I'm a diy musician and I used to use a usb condensor mic to record pretty much everything from vocals to guitars and bass. But after I got this I could do so much more. It has a 16 bit and 24 bit mode and mono and stereo modes too for different types of recordings like micing an acoustic guitar with two mics. It also works really good for micing drums (2 overheads, a kick, and snare mic) and like the other reviewer that you have to use a lot of gain, you do have to turn it up quite a bit but not so much that you're not able to use certain microphones

I haven't recorded guitar and bass directly through this because i usually end up mic'ing an amp when it comes to those but if you use garageband or logic you could use this to plug in your guitar and use the amps that are built in to the software

I haven't had any problems with this but the monitoring could be a little tricky when you first get it but it's nothing you won't get used to after the first few minutes of using this and it isn't the most expensive thing you could get so it is plastic so if you have a problem with dropping things you might wanna save up for something with a hard case and the preamps aren't the highest quality but if you're an at home this is a really good piece of equipment for anyone that's starting out recording. This is perfect for podcasting too.

I'd say this is a 5 star product especially for the price. There are other interfaces like MBoxes and the Apogee Duet but if you're on a budget or if you don't know too much about recording you should definitely get this!

the io4 is ok, i'm lucky to avail of the low-price offer of the time... but the power supply got busted after only three days. The real bad news is that you'll surely have a hard time to get a replacement (power supply) under warranty from Alesis. I will not recommend the product because Alesis wouldn't replace your power supply whenever it got busted after only 3 days of use. Especially if you are a buyer-user from places other than U.S. It's a real bad experience. They'd just insist you're not covered of the warranty. Read the warranty notice carefully and you'll see what I mean. So if you are not in the U.S. I tell you be aware. They must clearly state that the product is only intended to be sold in the U.S.

Let me start off by saying that I'm not a fan of in-ear headphones, but I use them when working out because over-the-ear headphones are too cumbersome for me.

Overall I really like these headphones for the price. They seem well built. The one thing that I initially found strange was that the cord to one ear was shorter than the other. Initially that threw me, but it actually makes sense and is more comfortable when you wear an iPod on your arm or waistband. The one key for me is good in-ear fit. These phones come with 3 different size covers and I found the smallest one provided a good fit for me. They are comfortable enough to wear for at least an hour. Sound is really subjective, but with a good fit these provided good bass and clean highs. On the bass side of things, it seems that many people prefer a very 'bassy' sound, while I prefer an overall balanced sound. If you want deep, thumping, unnatural bass, these may not be for you.

Just for fun I compared these to the buds that come with iPods and my 2 favorite headphones (I have others, but these are the only ones I use now), a pair of Shure in-ear that I bought for about $100 and the Bose over-ear noise-cancelling phones that I bought for about $350.00.

Compared with the buds that come with the iPod there is just no comparison. The Yamaha phones are more efficient (louder for the same amount of input), have much better overall sound--better bass and clearer mids and highs. I also find that I can wear the Yamaha in-ears longer than the iPhone buds. In general you would expect an in-canal phone to have better bass, but regardless these phones smoke the buds that come with iPods.

The Yamaha phones compared very well against the Shure in-ear model--my previous favorite in-ear model. Overall I would say the Yamaha was more comfortable to wear--likely because the covers are made of a softer material. The bass and high-end on the Yamaha were much more clear, though I would say I prefer the mid-range on the Shure (could be it is EQ'd that way). I think for most listeners the Yamaha phones are comparable to this $100 model.

As I said, I prefer over-the-ear headphones to the in-canal phones, so to me the Bose are much more comfortable to wear--I can wear them for a very long airplane flight with no problem. The Bose also have a much better bass, as you would expect, and are more efficient than the Yamahas (don't need as much volume to create the same sound output). The Bose are more 'warm' sounding and the Yamaha is more 'clean' sounding. Given my choice I'd listen to the Bose phones--that's just not always possible.

Overall, thumbs up for these phones--I'll keep using them at the gym.

Well..I tried almost more than 10 earphones which were part of cnet's review ( excellent ones )..sennheiser and klipsh were good...but i found them only great for some genre of music..

But these earphones are are for all type of music..perfect combination of bass-treble and mid tones..

It again depends on your player's settings..these earphones can produce very high trebles..so u need to keep them little lower..

Windows media player provided SRS Tru bass just blends with these earphones..i found very few phones which can tolerate 100% SRS Trubass..but these earphones CAN..so u know the bass response.

Go for it and you dont have to return anymore..

First off, I find it to be humorous that so many reviewers on here do not understand the asymmetrical cord lengths. One goes behind your neck people!! This means less cable in front of your chest to get caught up with your hands and whatnot. This is a good thing, trust me. My main complaint however is that I had to send mine back twice because they broke. One after maybe 6 months, the other after 3, both after hard daily use. Luckily the warranty is good for a year, so once I get mine back I will enjoy listening to the well balanced sound.

In short, this is the best $30-40 you can invest into your portable music/iPod experience. There are many different styles and designs of earphones on the market today; often they are all style and no substance.
