I got this little interface to go in my bag with my Macbook Air. Tiny laptop, tiny interface. See?

Pros:

it's tiny

it's built like a tank

there's very little noise

latency is very low

overall sound quality is excellent with my guitar or my dynamic mics.

Cons:

it's not Core Audio compliant you'll have to install drivers on your Mac.

there's no 48v so you're stuck with dynamic mics. Not that there aren't good ones, it's just a limitation

Very light (because it's tiny) and the weight of your guitar/mic cable can and will pull it off the desk. I'm considering affixing a few oz of lead inside the case :D

All in all, if you're looking for a very portable audio interface particularly for guitar input this one is awesome. If you can take a little more bulk, I'd recommend the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (which, unfortunately, wasn't available when I bought this one).

This recorder is easy to operate because of its size.However!it requires an SD card not included. The unit does not delete a poor recording which happens a lot. And last of all,there is no way to play back the recordings without a computer.And the recordings sound like there played in a box. Not good.

I have a huge collection of cassettes recorded over many years from LP's and CD's and finally wanted to get around to digitizing them. I found the Pyle PAD6 and really liked the feature that allowed conversion directly to SD cards. That and the $29 dollar price made me pull the trigger.

Unfortunately, the PAD6 is poorly constructed with very loose line and headphone connections. This makes for really bad conversions with the sound shifting from channel to channel and volume going up and down according to the vagaries of the line connection.

I don't know if this is inherent in the product or I just received a lemon. But it is going back.

On the plus side, operation is simple and straight forward and it was the the least expensive analog to digital conversion device I found.

But I guess you get what you pay for. Or on second thought, sometimes you don't even when it is dirt cheap.

This came quickly after I ordered it. I have used it to record dj sets etc... and it is a straightforward, easy to figure out product. The recording quality is not bad, not great...

Didn't expect it to come with an S/D card seeing how much it costs. It is easy to transfer and load up to your computer. The recorder is small and very simply made. It does its job though just not the best out there. Kinda what you'd expect.

I've been DJ'ing for almost three years, two of which I've been using the same pair of these headphones. For me, the main benefit of these headphones is that they don't cup the ear entirely, allowing me to easily put them on and take them off. Additionally, unlike more expensive headphones, these headphones only reverse on one axis and don't swivel around. In my experience the "swivel" becomes a nuisance and is overrated.

Pros

Price point allows you to buy several extra pairs

Simple design (not cumbersome like most DJ headphones)

Lightweight

No Swivel (personal preference)

Does not go over ear (personal preference)

Cons

Not comfortable enough to wear for leisure, but that may be because I have a large head.

Cups will sometimes detach, but they snap right back in.

Doesn't collapse for easier transport

As a tip for aspiring DJ's, if you insist on fancier headphones, forget sound quality and focus on the functionality. On the job, you will neither notice nor care if another pair of headphones sound better.

Sound quality: 3 out of 5. Half decent, but not worth $29 in my opinion (even though I bought it for $12, which is about the right price for these). The bass output is noticeably less than my JVC HA-S700 and sounds muffled compared to those.

Comfort: 2 out of 5. I have a small head (adult small/x-small) and these feel too tight, after about 20 minutes using I have to take them off to relieve the pressure. Even with them being tight, I plugged them into my amp and began to jam on my guitar and any movement more than a simple head nod made the headband flip on top of my face. The only thing I like about these are that it has the cord coming from one side vice both.

Durability: 1 out of 5. After two weeks of owning, I plugged them into my computer and listened to a little bit of music and all was normal. I switched songs and noticed the right ear piece was not playing. I switched back to the song I was listening to before and still wasn't playing.

I went back and forth trying to figure out if I wanted to buy these headphones largely because of some of the negative reviews. I order them figuring I would only lose about $10 if they were not any good, well guess what they are good headphones and for the price a very good item. They r lite weight, fit firmly and has a very clear sound coming thru. For DJ's, Mp3 or computer use you wont be disappointed. People rate them as if they r Bose but they not; ur not paying $200 rate according as the line goes, apples to apples not Numark to Bose. Some of those people have no business rating things; rate facts. Dont compare a BMW to a Saturn.

These are a great deal. You cannot wear them for a considerable amount before your ears will start to hurt. However, they have a decent sound and you can't beat the price. If you have sensitive ears, I would recommend something that goes over the ears, since these are on-ear phones

This little passive monitor controller if perfect for my situation. I run an analog summing mixer with outboard gear, and I send my final summed signal to this controller and back into my DAW, and this allows me to switch between my two sets of studio monitors, and have an 1/8" input to switch to for reference checks, and final playback (avoiding the analog summing chain) and not have to mess with the volume on my monitors. Even if you keep everything in the box, this unit is helpful if you use a digital "virtual" mixer, and don't want to suffer from bit loss by having your digital faders below unity, but need control over monitor levels. I like that it is passive, has 2 switchable inputs and two switchable outputs, and much more affordable than other options (some of which are not passive). The headphone amplifier sucks, which means I don't have to plug it in at all. I have other options to drive headphones, and don't really mix with them anyway.

This box does everything I need it to. It's passive, so it doesn't color the sound, it makes for easy switching between my two sets of monitors, and even has an auxiliary input (RCA connection) with separate volume control (which I use to patch in an xbox. Gotta take 5 from working every once in a while!). The main volume knob is really smooth and has some slight resistance, which makes it feel great when dialing in levels.

I chose to mount it under my desk with the included brackets (mounted upside-down so the box is hanging) so that it's right at arm height for extremely quick access. People have said the headphone amp isn't great, but I've never used it as I connect my headphones directly to my interface when needed, so I can't comment on that claim.

I don't tend to throw money around for the studio all "willy nilly", but I'm sure glad I purchased this unit.

For something that really doesn't do much, it's definitely a unit that make working a lot more enjoyable.

I have used this controller everyday for about 6 weeks. The overall function of the unit is strait forward simple. I was very concerned about adding this controller to my signal path, I typically monitor strait out of my converters to my power amp. With the M-Patch in the signal path, the sound seemed relatively un-effected, the stereo image and depth of field all seemed right, plus I could switch sources and monitors on the fly. The ability to switch input sources and monitors on the fly has me listening to more records, and my work flow has improved. My only big gripe is that the headphone output level is also tied in to the aux and stereo level volume. I wish that the headphone amp had it's own gain stage (i had assumed this because this part of the controller is active). To be clear, the headphone volume control adds/subtracts but the relative signal is subject to the level the aux or stereo volume is set to. The construction and appearance are very good. I am very happy with my purchase, and I would have given this 5 stars if the headphone amp did not seem quirky in the gain stage.

I was very excited to get this unit. the functionality is great, theoretically. The problem is that it's VERY cheaply made. After 3 months of owning in a smoke-free studio, the connections are starting to crap out. Left channel is in and out and somehow the headphone volume has crossed with the main volume and they no longer function independently of each other. Such a bummer. Of course this all starts to happen AFTER the 30 day return period. Wish I could recommend this unit but I would say money is better spent elsewhere...

This is a very versatile and cost effective piece of equipment. It does exactly what I need it to do.

The "Create Your Own Review Form" has a very telling question it asks on the right side of our screens.

Q: "What would you have wanted to know before you purchased the product?"

A: That it would break in 2 months and Creative offers terrible support.

Appearance, Comfort, Sound Quality, Microphone Quality, Packaging all receive high marks. The multicolor LEDs are a nice touch inside each of the ear modules and the otherwise black color scheme is appealing, though it seems the entire thing is made out of (easily broken) plastic. Comfort of the piece is top notch. I am the raid leader for my WoW guild so I am regularly wearing these headphones for 4 or more hours and neither the inside of my ears or the top of them where my glasses sit would feel uncomfortable. The microphone quality is perfectly fine, my guild mates on Ventrilo did not complain of a poor quality sound from my end. Packaging was also well done though you do not receive an installation CD and have to go onto the internet to download it. Sound quality is very satisfying since it is THX certified it does not disappoint.

Ease of Use, Features, and Wireless Range all leave something to desire. Ease of use is relatively hassle free, if it weren't for the fact that once every two weeks I randomly lose my signal and it takes me several minutes to resync the USB dongle and the headset. This would not be such a hassle, had it not occurred twice during a raid. We refrain from buying wireless mouses for the same reason, there are some things that just cannot have issues when we are relying on them. The features, mainly the program that allows the adjustment of LED color and your voice, is rather gimmicky. As much as you think you might want to sound like Malganis or Deconstructor-XT , nobody else will want you to. The wireless range is also the worst of any wireless headsets I have owned. To compare I have a pair of Sennheiser's that allow me to walk down a flight of stairs, out the door of my house, and into the street which is roughly 50 feet away. The WoW headset has a range of roughly 10 feet, and cut that in half of you dare walk around a wall.

Durability, Customer Support are terrible, terrible, terrible. So terrible I had to write a review. Having owned the headset for less than two months I picked it up off of my desk to raid last night, and the right side ear module snapped off. You see the entire thing is made of plastic, cheap plastic at that. For buying one of the most expensive headsets on the market one would expect some high quality parts but not the case with this headset. The adjustable linking piece between the top of the headset and the ear module is roughly similar to that found on a 5$ pair of knock off Sony headphones: thin, plastic and cheap. I naturally assumed that since I had only owned this product a mere two months I could call Creative customer support and see if I could get a replacement (though at this point I would prefer a refund). After discovering Creative does not give you a number to call, I sent a few emails back and forth with pictures and was provided this wonderful conclusion by a Creative representative who does not even have a real name to correspond with, instead he/she uses a cute Navi name from Avatar instead. Her conclusion about my headset is as follows:

Received this product yesterday. After the initial 8 hour charge I was anxious to test it out. Comfort and sound quality are awesome. Installation was very easy if you follow the Quick-Start guide. The THX options are amazing for versatility. Range on the 2.4gHz wireless is also very delectable. I was very impressed until I went to talk to my guild mates over Ventrilo...

Every single person said I sounded very muffled / tin-e / static-e. The microphone also picks up almost every sound in the room. It is very annoying. Noise canceling microphone??? NO. More like noise amplifying microphone of terrible quality. I plugged in my old $15 headset from WalMart and my voice was back to crystal clarity to everyone in Ventrilo.

I spent about two hours of my own time alternating sound options inside Windows, Ventrilo, and the custom sound board to get my voice sounding somewhat normal over Ventrilo to no avail. I posted this issue on the official Sound Blaster forums. I am also going to create a support request. If this issue isn't fixed or on the way to being fixed I'm going to get a refund and by a different set.

I really was looking forward to this headset. When my pre-order arrived I absolutely was wowed by the presentation and overall look of the product. The comfort of these phones is truly amazing and I hope will be copied by others in future. Now for the negatives... The microphone did not work from the start... I can hear others in TeamSpeak, but they can't hear me (even after making sure my settings were correct). I also noticed that my Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard go all sluggish and wacky when using these phones. Attempts to contact Creative customer support were as unpleasant as could be. They make you drill down through seemingly endless menus before you can send an email to their customer support team (tip: make sure you have your serial number or you will get no customer support) -no phone number is available. I sent my problems to them on March 5th via email and just heard back today (3/10/10)... Their answer? Try to keep the wireless headphones away from the computer's wireless keyboard and mouse, as they can cause interference. I waited 5 days for *that*! Kind of hard to seperate the computer keyboard, mouse and headset when playing a game on the computer...

The most ironic thing of all is the mouse and keyboard are acting up the worst in WOW when paired with the headset, making it unplayable. Looks like these phones are going back to Amazon. I love the concept and the look of the phones, but Creative's execution and customer service are terrible. Oh well. :-(

Cool headset, but after using it more during raids, everyone complains about how the Mic turns screechy and sounds robotic (this is with VOICEFX off) The only fix is to D/C from Vent and relog but it will happen again. Issue is posted over and over on Creative's FOrums by many users and they have not replied or released a fix. Unfortunately an Epic Headset has turned into a worthless Green Item. Never buying creative again.

I preordered this headset and they arrived on February 25th. I live in a house with two adults and no children so the only use the headset got was when I put them on and took them off.

On Saturday March 27th I tried to put them on and the right head phone snapped off. I looked at the support and found that it is made of very thin plastic with a hole running down the center that weakens it further.

I found that Creative Labs Customer Service is only open 9 am to 5 pm cst Monday thru Friday. So I contacted them this morning 3/29/10 to see if I could get an RMA to have them replaced. I spoke with a customer service agent and told her what happened. She told me that physical damage was not covered under the warranty and voided said warranty and was not eligible for an RMA. She then put me on hold and spoke to a supervisor. When she came back on she asked me to e-mail her a photo of the damage. I sent the picture which they received. They are waiting to show a supervisor to get a ruling as to whether or not this will be covered under the warranty. My feeling right now is that Creative will blow me off and I will be stuck with a $120.00 piece of junk.

So my review of this item is this. The sound is great and the colored lights are fun and it super comfortable to wear. The main support for the ear phones is the cheapest of plastic with no metal reinforcement and does not last more than a month at best with careful regular usage. Don't waste your money on these cheap pieces of junk they are not worth the cost.

I tried the Samson Airline 77 in Jan of 2010 ... the description looked interesting, and I had a need for a wireless

headset mic without a body pack. After testing it out, I immediately returned it.

It had two problems, one major and one minor.

The major problem was that if the headset was powered off, the receiver would emit a lot of static as output,

which causes havoc with a sound system.

The minor problem is that it's difficult for some performers to remember which switch on the headset is

power and which is mute ... by touch alone. (And, if they hit the wrong switch, we're suddenly blaring

static to the audience). We worked around this by putting some gaffer tape over the power switch.

The two performers who tested the headset both found it difficult to wear as the instructions desired...

with the transmitter against the center back of the head ... they felt a more natural place for it would

be against the bottom back of the head.

I have used one for years and am looking for another since the government reserved my old frequency range for emergency services. Before buying I HIGHLY recommend that you make sure it is not in the 698-803 MHZ range.

I loved the fact that there is no wire hanging down to a belt pack. Women should try one on if they don't want to mess up a hairstyle, but I loved it. And my AAA battery lasted a LOT longer than the 9V in my other systems. I liked the fact that the mic didn't come directly in front of my mouth as well. It sits on the side of the lip. It isn't the most comfortable, BUT it is still my favorite.

Just a great tool for aerobic classes. It was difficult for me to order this item because it is "Market protected" and I am in switzerland. Thanks Amazon I saved more than 300 USD. (Swiss Price is between 650 and 750 USD.) Take care of it, I use it alreday for 1 year and it s a bit fragile!
