This is a good unit. But it is the same as the Gx that has red on the front with is the older model. The hardware is the same this just has updated software podfarm. The rub is podfarm is a free download from the line 6 site. and the older version is $49 not $99. So search the net and see if you can find the older version. It's the same hardware and download the software for free from the line 6 site. And save your self $50.

Hardware wise it's great it's great and works perfect with All the amplitube products and Guitar Rig 3. I have them installed and use them and it works fine with no latency.

on quirky think is you have to plug a cord form the unit's headphone out to your laptop or computer mic input to get speakers to get sound and i've only figured out that way of using external speakers. i've yet to figure out how to just use the actual speakers that are attached to my laptop instead which would be cool.

I have owned this product for over six months now and I use it nearly every day. It has never given me a problem, and does indeed provide an very-low latency interface as described. The accompanying POD Farm software is easy to use, and provides high quality tones suitable for recording. Don't let the program's presets discourage you, most of them are lousy. But with a little tweaking and/or some research online, you will be quite satisfied.

I purchased the GX model because it was the simplest and cheapest model available. I have not been disappointed, nor have I wished it had additional features.

I would have felt very ripped off had i paid more than $80 for this equipment. I feel that it is worth around $60 or possibly less.

Essentially all you are buying here is a device thru which you can record your guitar or bass directly into your computer. There are many many other (better) options for which you can do this, and I won't go into detail here but I will say RESEARCH OTHER OPTIONS for digital recording, such as Mackie and M-audio products. The one nice thing about the GX is the lagless factor, which at least for me seemed to hold true.

I hate to say this again but you get what you pay for and In my opinion, the GX is worth no more than the Amazon price. There are (literally) a few useful effects and tones which come with the GX/POD Farm 2.5. The spring reverb is nice enough to be useful, and sounds fairly organic and blends nicely into mixes especially with clean guitae. The 4 band EQ is useful but then again you can get these for free from almost any recording software. There is a cool modulator effect which sounds very digital, but could still be somewhat useful in very specific situations (may not come up in your music ever). There are a few amp models which are acceptable, but i wouldn't say good. All of the high gain amp models which come with POD Farm are horrible and grating to the ears. The tube screamer pedal is a better option and is also fairly useful, it can give a lot of gain without any distortion, which can sometimes be hard to get. The compression works well and is nice for recording lead guitar. These are the only useful tools from POD Farm which i have discovered after fiddling around with it extensively for about 4 months now. Be prepared to fiddle around for many many hours to find the few acceptable tones which you can use.

As you can tell from above, i mostly use the GX as a method of simply recording guitar directly in to the computer. I almost never use any special effects or tones from POD farm, and if i do that is going back in the VST after recording it perfectly clean and adding some compression or reverb.

I feel as though i paid $80 for an acceptable method of guitar DI, and a few acceptable pedals like the reverb, tube screamer, and compression (which again normally come free of charge with programs like Reaper or audacity). This is not a bad price for these items, but then again i didn't really need any of these things. Don't expect that you are getting any more than what i have described.

A better investment would be to SAVE your money and get A TUBE amp to start with. Fender now makes small tube amps which actually have a USB out which you can plug into your computer (super champ series, around $300 new). Also you will have that great tube tone which is impossible to mimic using digital techniques. Use effects like reverb, delay, and compression through whatever program you choose to use (they are probably just as good as Line 6's). Now you have a GREAT true tube amp tone both when practicing and when recording.

Now for the best tone, save up and get an SM57 mic, a mic stand, and some sort of M-audio or Mackie

Pre-amp (i recommend the mackie onyx blackjack) to connect to your computer. Both can be picked up on Amazon for cheap. This method has worked much better for me, although it does take some time to set up (and costs more money, and it quite loud, among other issues). However if you really want a good convincing tone for your demo, i would go this direction. You will get an excellent amp, pre amp, and mic along the way which can be used for more than just guitar.

In summary, the hi-gain "amps" which come with this gx absolutely suck, so don't think you can cut corners for that awesome guitar tone you hear. It does however, have a few useful effects and amps for clean guitar tones. It's price is fair, but is not a good deal for what you get.

This little beast is so good I have'nt used my amp since. The presets are great you can play along to your favorite songs modeling the same amps and effects the original artists used.It comes with recording software(abelton live)and riffworks. The pod farm has all the amps and stomp boxes you need to have fun.

Musician's Friend had the best price plus I got another $30.00 off that by signing up for the Amazon.com credit card. This unit was worth every penny it cost.

I got this as a gift. I have had nothing but trouble from it. The software is a hassle to load. I managed to get it loaded and working at one point, and got to play around on it. It does have some cool features, all kinds of amp/cab/effects combos. But I went to plug it in a day or two later, and I had to uninstall and reinstall the program to get it to work. And then, there was no sound in the left ear of the headphones...and my headphones were good, I use them at work. I can't figure out what the fix is. Not to mention, this is not supported on Windows 7...it's for use with Vista or XP. Wierd.

If you are a computer engineer/nerd, this might work for you. If your an average joe who just wants some cool guitar tones to play around with, you'd probably be better off getting something else.

First off, all the effecta and the user interface are some of the best I've dealt with, my only problem was that the effects would switch on and off without my touching the pedal. It's quite possible that the unit I purchased was a fluke, but for now I'm just sticking with my old Digitech

I received the item on time. All the peripherals were correctly shipped including the VFX software CD. One major issue though was that the software key listed on the software packaging was incorrect. This was reported to amazon via their help chat option with no quick solution, however an email to MixVibes promptly solved this. The software though buggy is packed with features...as advertised. There are tons of visuals and effects for any DJ who wants to be more creative with their mixes. I bought this particularly for the VFX software as I am switching to video and there is no better solution out there. In terms of product support MixVibes is great with a dedicated forum where experienced users can help new comers. They provide regular updates for the vfx software and thier other products. There is also a beta program available for testing future releases of the software.

Summary: If you're a DJ crossing over from audio into video or want exciting visual effects to spice up your mix, this is a great solution.

Pros: Great idea for for adding visuals to any DJ

: Midi controller is built sturdy and is very precise and responsive (customed built for VFX Software led backlit controls, great portability.

Cons: Frequent crashes of software version 1.2.2 [even when installed on a rig built for performance][will soon be a thing of the past with recent updates of the software version 1.3.0 in development and soon to be released

:Not version of the software available for Macintosh (at the time of this review)

All three of my kids now have PowerBeats. My two oldest have the red ones and white ones since last Christmas but now that the Lebron came out, my oldest son passed down the black ones to my youngest son. My oldest is a huge fan of Lebron and I was very surprised they sell for the exact same price as the other colors and not for a premium. Not sure if I would have paid a premium for Lebron but for the same price, it was the best possible purchase I could ever make. All my kids love them and you will too.

Purchased one of these for use with students and inexpensive DV camcorders. Works fine sounds ok. What do you want for $10?! Is it a pro-quality mic? No, of course not but it sure sounds much better than the on-camera microphone. Works like a charm and for my wallet.

So you must be in the market for a microphone if you are reading this. Depending on what you want out of a mic, this might be a great bargain choice. I recently tested 30+ of these Sony F-V100 Mics and every single one worked--nice and clean sounding in a streamlined lightweight package.

Pros:

Price (Under $10)

Dependable--very durable

Good audio quality

No on/off switch (less to break)

Lightweight (easy for kids to hold)

9.8 foot cord

Cons:

No on/off switch

Low volume for some uses

Mostly plastic build instead of metal

So if you are looking for an easy to use and durable mic on a budget, this should be exactly what you need. If you have requirements that do not amp the mic much, then you will need a more expensive mic.

I bought this to use as a second microphone for the kids' karaoke machine so two could sing together. I thought the "quality" of the sound wouldn't matter since I was just buying it to use it with my kids toy. Boy was I wrong. The kids fight over using the other one that came with the karaoke singing machine, which is far superior. This one is really a piece of crap and they can barely hear themselves singing when they use it. Don't buy it for any reason. It stinks!

I read some of these other reviews that stated that this mic was cheap and did not pick up sound very well. I should have paid attention, but it was cheap and it was from Sony so I figured how could I go wrong. Well the mic is a piece of junk and worthless to me. You have to cup your hand around the the end and with you mouth just a 1/2 inch from it's surface you have to shout for anything to be recorded at a near normal level. Perhaps this would be of some benefit for loud singing but for normal speaking level it is completely useless. It was cheap enough that I just wrote it off as the time and effort it would of taken to repackage and repost would not of been cost effective. Don't buy it. Spend a little more money and get something that works.

I bought this mic about 5 years ago to use on my 4-track recorder. It works fine. On vocals, it sounds a bit muddy, but what do you expect from a sub $ mic. Close mic'ing a guitar amp sounds decent. I actually got great sound, but that's my opinion.

As far as the other reviews, I'm not sure about the low gain problems. It could be their system. Since I used mine through a 4-track recorder, I had a different setting where I had to turn a knob in order for me to use a microphone. So really the main culprit could be the system where you plug in the mic.

The problem is the thing doesn't come with a manual so one would think it's plug and play. Clearly it's not.

If you're wondering how it sounds, you can listen to a few songs I did back in 2005 using this little mic. The guitars were mic'ed through the amplifier at about an inch away from the speakers. The amplifier volume was at 45% because I had neighbors and I was recording at night.

Here's the link:Four of the songs used the Sony mic:

Won't Go Away

Homesick

Make Me Crawl

Spit In Your Lemon Lime

I received this a couple weeks ago, and I have tried everything to get it up and running. I had no success in doing so on either of my Mac OS X computers -one is a Mac Mini (Lion, 2011) with 8GB RAM, other a Macbook (10.6.8, 2008) with 3GB. I have come to the conclusion that this USB soundcard is not compatible with OS X, as the lazy American Audio has not updated it for clearly a verrrry long time. The instruction manual only has instructions for OS 9.2, and the instructions for installing the ASIO driver you "may" need are for 9.2 also, which has a very different structure from Lion or Snow Leopard. I even called Sergio, the troubleshooter for the company, and went through the same steps I had already gone through on my own to get it working(he was also quite rude, and treated me like I didn't know what I was doing, telling me it "should work" and that it was probably my fault). Needless to say, the results were the same, with no output or input from the soundcard.

In conclusion, this may be a great soundcard -IF IT WORKED FOR MY COMPUTER!! Personally it really irritates me when companies claim compatibility with OS X, when it's just not true. Just because it worked with older OS's doesn't mean itll work with new ones... in fact, usually the opposite is true. Do not buy this if you have OS X

I got this port set to put together a system that I could use with my laptop. I have a digital mixer to mix music from my laptop, but I also wanted an analogue system I could use to mix audio CDs. I plugged this into one USB port on my laptop and plugged my digital mixer to another port. This gave me the ability go connect my laptop system to a standard mixer which was connected to the dual CD mixer. I can use the PCDJ software I have on my laptop to control all the devices and the sound is great. Without this product, it would have been very challenging to get the digital/analogue worlds together as one output. This product got the job done simply.

I've had a couple of these microcassette players, and generally they do the work but fall apart too quickly.

This one, however is a bit more solid in the construction. The unit is easy to operate, the pieces seem a lot tougher than other comparatively priced models, and the sound quality is pretty decent.

I'd highly recommend this product to anyone who needs a mini-recorder, for music, meetings or just some quick ideas.

I bought this recorder to digitize some twenty-year-old microcassettes I recorded on a Panasonic during a trip to Europe. About ten years ago, I bought a Sony microcassette recorder to listen to the tapes again. As far as I can tell, the Coby sounds as good as either unit during playback. The plastic body looks cheap, and the action of the control buttons is not as smooth as those more expensive units, but the electronics seem to be just as good.

I recorded my voice on the Coby, and the playback sounded as good as the other units both through the speaker and through the earphone.

As far as reliability, I transfered eight hours of tape to the computer with no problems.
