Jade cables are not that great... 26ga wire is thin, especially past 45.5" with a typical console (-10 or +4)... Hosa doesn't disclose their gauge. Their wires seem thicker... Well my snake got pinched in my reorganization after buying a new board and, in my repairing of one of the leads, I have discovered that the Hosa has a thick sheathing and 26 gauge wire! I have a digital gauge, I'm not just eyeing it up. This damaged cable goes back with a letter of complaint and a demand for refund and I'll take my old 18 ga wires with 1/4" ends and re-solder them with RCA!

This cable was cheap for what it has and it works great! I used this for sending direct outs from my churches mixer to my sound card for recording purposes. I recommend this product!

You'll find many reviews of this product. Some claim it is the worst of the worst, and some love it.

It is a beginners guitar set, so take it as that. The tones that can be achieved are very clear, and the single coil pickups are actually quite good for a cheap guitar. If you want a cheap 100 dollar ebay guitar, go ahead, the pickups will likely be totally unusable. These are usable.

The tone knobs and wiring inside aren't the greatest, but they do their job. There is some 'scratching' sounds when you rotate a few knobs.

The amp it comes with has some nice beginner features, and the headphone output is a plus.

If you want to learn how to play guitar, this has enough to keep you satisfied until you've learned enough to justify a better guitar or amplifier. The guitar is much better then the amplifier, so i would suggest getting a new amp first (what i am doing currently)

Note: buy new strings for your guitar too! The stock strings arent that great.

Also: Buy a guitar strap that is GOOD. The one it comes with slips off, and i hit the side of my guitar on the CORNER of a wooden table...thank god for paint and super glue.

As a frame of reference for this review, I am a novice guitar player that learned some basics on an acoustic guitar (that I still have) 25+ years ago. I do have a music background (I still play other instruments and have been in bands in the past) so that may give me a general advantage over someone just picking it up for the first time or someone that has only ever played Guitar Hero and has had no musical instruction. My old acoustic has spent all but a couple of hours of the last 25 years in the case, so I believe that qualifies me as a beginner. That said, this is a great set for a beginning player. The value here is simply outstanding. EVERYTHING you need is included.

Pros:

99.9% complete (see Cons) prestrung guitar; neck strap; amplifier; guitar/amp connector cord; soft carry case with handles, strap, and accessory pocket; automatic tuner; spare bridge spring; allen wrenches for neck and bridge, picks, headphones, instructional dvd.

Amplifier is light and very portable, but packs a decent punch. Great feature allows for separate input which can be used for a drum machine or a sample/background track to play with. Note that the input you use has to have its own volume/amplifer capability that can at least match the volume of this amplifier. You can't use this amp to adjust the separate input volume.

Guitar (I am a novice) seems to play well. You don't need a ton of effort to press the strings and the distance between string and fingerboard appears to be good. It is solidly built and also very comfortable to hold. Based on what little I know, it appears to replicate the functions of a 'real' stratocaster.

Tuner you need to know how to tune the guitar and you have to tune it before you can play it. This thing is almost fool-proof. Pop in a 9V battery, plug in your guitar and pluck a string. Turn the tuning knob for the string one way or the other. The tuner will light green when you are all set. It does have a manual and you should look at it to make sure you are following the string # if you don't know the note that correspond to each string.(From left to right as you look at it or the guitar, it starts with the fattest low E string first. The first and last strings have the same note letter, but the slimmest string is obviously a higher pitch.)

Instructional DVD you don't get any music theory, but you do get a ton of good information that gets you going right away. It is by no means a complete how-to, but it is a great addition to this set and should give you enough quick rewards to keep you going. (In my opinion, ultimately you should get some in-person lessons that contain some music theory and education so you know what you are doing other than just following the mechanics.)

Picks Good idea. I would not have thought of this. I think it makes sense to learn with them first or at least to understand and see the difference between picks and just fingers.

Cons:

Lots of head-scratchers if you've never been exposed to electric guitars, or more specifically a stratocaster with a tremolo bridge.

Got spare parts what are they for? There is a spring, a curved chrome bar with a plastic end, and a couple of allen wrenches. What are those for? Do I need to install something before I can play?

What is that little white switch for? Why are there two tone controls? What do I do with this curved chrome bar? I think I screwed it in correctly, but I'm not sure...

It would have been 5 stars if a model specific maual that had some details, how to install the "whammy bar" and how to use it, the pickup switch settings, which tone knob went with which pickup(s), why you would select one vs. the other playing situations, sound options, etc. You can get most of these questions answered by a quick trip to Fender's web site and poking around. The rest are at least hinted at or referenced in the included DVD. I can imagine someone that has never seen or used one of these before would be confused.

Nitpicks:

Including headphones is a nice touch, but really a waste of a few dollars. Give me a good reference manual instead (see Cons). I've got at least 5 sets of headphones lying around somewhere...

Amplifier manual is basic in the extreme. For example, "INPUT Plug your guitar in here". Really? And there is no real explanation of what normal and drive channels are all about.

Yes, the pickups are bargain basement. So what? They work just fine.

Yes, there is fret buzz (The small allen wrench that is included allows for adjustment of the string height at the bridge. That may help a bit?)

Yes, the strings are cheap. Again, so what?

If you are a beginner or even a casual player, YOU WILL NEVER NOTICE. If you are really an accomplished guitarist get over it and shell out some cash for something better.

Last note if you think you've outgrown this after learning to play or playing a while, think again. You can upgrade almost every component on this guitar. For those that are not made of cash, selectively upgrading components over time could be quite attractive. Much better than spending $500 $3000 depending on the model for a new 'real' stratocaster.

Bottom Line: For A COMPLETE starter kit you cannot do any better than this. Good quality. Great features. You can start playing immediately. Highly recommended.

what do u expect from a cheap and worth it guitar .i just received it like a week ago and stuck playing it . the thing that u need to change is the string if u received the guitar . the amp is good ! fender product as expected . and what i loved is that this guitar is made is indonesia and not CHINA !! indonesia stuff is way better than CHINA product for sure . but i guess a few month after this i will change the pick up to the original fender pick up . i dont think the pick up can last long , so better change it earlier .

the useless this is the strap ! i throw it away when i received it. try to get a better quality strap .

the bag is nice .. the tuner , i havent try it since they dont provide battery with it and i already bought another korg tuner . so until now , i havent touch the tuner .

The Squier is a good choice for those who want a low cost investment. There are many inexspensive iupgrades that can be done over time. This guitar sounds good once youve tuned it and plays well out of the box. I recomend the 15G or better so you have the choice to use the amp to make a more metal-like sound if you are looking for a metal guitar, as this can be done easily. Grab some used single coil humbuckers and a wiring kit in the future to realy bring this guitar alive.

I just got the headphones in the mail today. They look really cool just like the picture, but the sound isn't quite what I was expecting. Of course they are less than $20 headphones, I just expected a little more. They do sound nice, but there is next to no noise cancellation so don't expect any. They also are not all that loud, but they sound clear and they will probably make for a decent set of headphones for the price. They are also pretty big and may be loose on someone with a small head.

Is this thing plugged in? I mean, it must be, because all my audio software works perfectly, but there aren't any little pictures or spinning things or eye candy to let me know I've got something hooked up. I guess Phonic are too busy making things that just work right to throw a few dozen latency-bloating apps into my system tray, but couldn't I at least get a useless mixer? Or a control panel whose only purpose is to play noise sequentially through each channel? Or just some light-blue windows like Creative are so fond of tossing around? Oh well, I guess this will have to do.

It works seamlessly with Live and Reason, and even my Windows games patch through the Firefly rather than the on-board once it's plugged in. My only complaint is the absence of a 1/4" mic-in for my unamplified electric guitar, which shouldn't be an issue if I use a 1/4"-to-XLR adapter or just amp the signal going into the line-in port.

Windows 8 was out before the Phonic Firefly 302 Interface...Phonic does not have a update download available that I can locate. Anyone have any idea when-where-or if an update will be offered? Nope. So if your interested in the PF 302 and have Windows 8 or you have upgraded to Windows 8, you better buy from a different interface manufacturer.

Like the Firefly, Phonic as a whole (both as a company and in the cheap junk products they peddle off to consumers), is very skilled at one thing and one thing only. That being frustrating and insulting their customers with very poor products then not standing behind them and leaving them with worthless pieces of junk. With so many other options available (M-Audio, Tascam, Presonus etc.) take my advice and look elsewhere in which to spend your hard earned dollars. You will be SO glad you did !!!

This card is amazingly great. I previously tried an EMU 0404 but the Win7-64 driver didn't work. I also tried an M-Audio FastTrack USB, but the USB bandwidth sometimes exceeded (I have a lot of USB devices), and for some reason plugging in 1/4" output from Phantom-power box caused Win7-64 to crash with BSOD on both of two attempts (also, the ports are named & physically arranged in a way that is somewhat awkward). I wanted to find an external sound device with digital connection to PC and after much looking I found that the Phonic Firefly 302 Plus had good reviews and that the quality was great on YouTube demonstrations, and it also has built-in phantom power and Firewire. I got the device to replace those previous two devices, and when I got it from the mail I immediately downloaded the latest Win7-64 drivers. Everything installed & connected flawlessly without any issues. I turned on the phantom power switch, plugged in my phantom powered mic directly into it, chose the input using Audacity preferences, and hit record--the warmth & detail is amazing. It is better than anything I've used before, and there is no perceivable background noise or hum. The Phonic device has a clean sound and perfect usability.

I'm one of those people who could never find earbuds that stay put. I mean never. Ever. The slightest movement of my head and the buds would fall out. But these really do stay in place. It's not just because of the clip that goes over your ear--it's that there are three sizes of 'buds' included so you can choose your best fit. The smallest set worked for me.

I love Koss products, both for the sound and the lifetime warranty, and have had them for years. I have two other Koss headphones, PortaPros and a pair of KSC-75, and the sound on the FitClips is not as rich as the other two. No surprise as they are so much smaller. But the sound is very good. And trading off a bit of sound quality for a good fit is worth it to me.

I bought the FitClips so I could use them with my iPhone 5 for workouts. On my first try, they didn't work. I had no sound at all through the headphones. It took me a while to figure out that my LIfeProof case was the reason. It doesn't let the plug insert fully into the phone. But the case does come with an adapter for headphones. I'd totally forgotten about that and once I connected the adapter, I had sound.

I'm very happy with this pair of headphones. And love the color, though it's more yellow than lime. Think highlighter yellow. I wish I'd known the case would be an issue, but happily it was a fixable issue. Hope that sharing my experience about the case will save others some frustration.

Once you start running, you won't have to reach up and jab a finger into your ear to keep your ear bud in. You won't know what to do with your hands now when you run. Be careful because they do cancel out sound and so if you're running outside, be aware. These are pretty fabulous worry free, so you can focus on other things and not on your motivational sounds slipping out of your ear.

I got to try these out a few months ago when they were in production and bought a pair the first chance i had. Its clearly obvious these were developed by a NYC DJ bc the sound quality was amazing....I felt like it wasn't muffled or echoed at all.

I was even able to talk on my iPhone with them through Bluetooth. As I said in the title of this review, I wanted desperately to like this roll-up piano. A little background: I am a "real" degreed organist, but I am also on the road a lot for my primary job. As such, I really wanted something that was ultra-portable that I could put in my suitcase and take with me. Pianos in hotels are surprisingly hard to come by, and pipe organs in hotels are even more rare!

So though I did't have huge expectations, I decided to try one anyway, partially because Amazon's return policy is very good (thanks, Amazon). When I opened the box, I was impressed with the size, and it IS truly portable. It was nice to have 61 keys, which happens to be the same compass as the keyboards on a modern organ. The notes seemed to work pretty well, and it was great to be able to have lots of different voices, rhythms, etc. I was under the false impression that as long as I have been playing, I wouldn't need the tactile sensation of 3-D physical keys to play. I was wrong! I tried playing various pieces, including simple hymns, and I sounded like a beginning piano player. I couldn't play well at all. Nonetheless, I did have the impression that I could eventually get used to it and play OK. I would have been willing to wait longer and see.

But the clincher for me was the MIDI functionality. It did NOT work well at all. I plugged it into my computer to try it out with Hauptwerk virtual organ software. It did not send proper Note On / Note Off signals to the computer. Notes would frequently not play, or if they did play, they frequently stuck ON. I tried various settings in the software to tweak it for the Yamano input, but after quite a bit of tinkering, gave up. It does NOT work properly with MIDI. If it were cheaper, I would have kept it for my children to play with. It really was "fun," but definitely not good enough for the price for me to keep, and it did NOT work well enough for what I needed it for. It has been returned.

I looked for a roll-up piano, after seeing one on an episode of House! I travel for my work frequently, and decided it would be great to have a portable keyboard to be able to keep practising when I travel. It's also an excellent way of relaxing in an hotel room after a busy day of meetings. What could be better, after dinner and a few laps in the hotel pool, than to play a little Bach or Beethoven.

Reading the reviews, this Yamano Hand Roll piano seemed to best option for a decent sized keyboard. But I have to see, it is really primitive technology. While it does indeed roll out to a decent size, the electronic unit is very clunky and the sounds are, shall we say, embarrassing. Worse still, its very temperamental. The sound just stops. I would have sent it back straight away, but then discovered that it still works with earphones. Which is in fact fine for what I want to use it for.

In conclusion, I would love to find a better quality roll-up piano that will fit in my hand luggage. Until then, I'll make do with this Yamano.

Oh, and one other thing. It's described as being 'digital'. You would think it would have a USB link to connect to a laptop, to use with Garage Band or similar. But no. The design seems to predate laptops.

I am a musician, but I'm deployed to Afghanistan, and I miss all my instruments. Also, I wanted to work a specific music project for which I needed a piano. I bought this because it wouldn't take up too much space in my sleep area and I could use headphones with it. I keep it rolled up in its pouch tucked under my bunk when I don't use it, and I got a plank of wood and sawed off an end to make it the right size so I can play in my sleep area with my headphones and not bother my battle buddies. It feels great to have music in my life besides just listening on my iPod. So far, I haven't had any problems with it. It's a pretty neat music gadget when you can't really have a real kkeyboard or piano for whatever reason.

As a professional opera singer myself, I did buy this piano in absolute personal needs. I needed something very light and portable. Therefore I didn't expect much of function as a "PIANO". However, this piano is beyond my expectation. To me it works well. Of course, it does have silicone key board so touch is different from the real key board either regular or electric piano but I'd absolutely say it's tolerable. The sound is about the same with middle quality electric piano. Just take in consideration about the price I did buy in price of $69.99 and special fuction being portable ),I'd recommand this item to my coulleagues and friends with no hesitation.

Small, light (less weight than, say, an industrial lunchbox computer), fairly loud for its size, built like the proverbial tank, no unwanted extras. And it's cheap! (Sixty at my local GC.) It has a very nice clean sound, which you can dirty up a bit via the built-in overdrive (there's a button and a gain dial). I especially like that, unlike many competing products, this amp is free from the usual multitude of built-in effects. My view is, if I need something, I'll hook up a pedal; good clean sound is all I need from a "bedroom" amp -and I don't want to pay for what I don't need; from that standpoint the 10G looks ideal. This thing is good for practice and no-drums creative sessions with friends. Five stars.

Buy Fender Frontman 10G Electric Guitar Amplifier Now

This is a good enough everyday, low volume, small apartment-ready practice amplifier. The volume gets actually louder, and it stays clean as long as you don't have the guitar dialed to 10 and hit the strings like a mad man, in which case it distorts the sound even in the clean channel.

You shouldn't use this for practicing with your band, it was not designed for it.

As for the sound quality, well, if you want tone you will have to pay for it... this thing is just to listen to what you are doing during your practices.

I've got it plugged to my Stratocaster and my PC from which I play the tunes I practice along with. Works fine in that setting.

One little caveat is that once you play what you practice with your 10G in a real amp... you might hear some mistakes you couldn't really listen to before due to the compressed sound of this little speaker.

Advice: place it against the wall, in a corner, and the bass and overall tone will improve substantially.

The amplifier far exceeded my expectations. The sound that it produces is outstanding. It is much better than my $200 amplifier which is much bigger and heavier. The overdrive button is amazing. This 10 lb. product will be very mobile and when considered with the quality of the sound, I will likely never use my larger, more powerful and more expensive amplifier. I could not be more pleased with my purchase.

Want Fender Frontman 10G Electric Guitar Amplifier Discount?

There are two reasons why you are trying to decide whether or not to buy this amp: You are buying this for someone who is just starting to get into playing guitar (maybe yourself) , or you already know what you're looking for and just need confirmation from reviews to buy it. Let's be clear, this is just the amp you need. It has exactly the right amount of control over the sound Bass, Treble, Volume, for each of the Distortion/Clean channels). You don't need more than that, and you shouldn't have less than that. The sound is clean and of good quality for both an amp this small, and an amp this inexpensive. It also has a 1/8" headphone jack and 1/8" input, the latter which I haven't used yet, but could come in handy, I guess. Of course, the main feature of this amp is its small size (and complimentary big sound). I kept the box to transport this little guy around; the amp is very portable and useful. This amp is the vertex of features, quality, and PRICE! I cannot recommend a better amp than this for a budding guitarist, or as a second amp for your apartment/office/bedroom.

Buy Fom Amazon Now

My "office" became a nursery recently, so I now have about 16 square feet for my "man cave" (i.e a corner in the rec room). The amp I bought 30 years ago was small, crackley and still too big for my diminished territory. Heavy, too.

This amp fits on a small shelf along with my effects box. I have yet to turn the volume above 2, so I can't review it as well as others. But I can say that this amp -until you use it -looks like a miniature novelty version of a classic Fender amp, but it is no novelty. It is LOUD. Great for practicing and goofing around with my effects, yet I have to believe you could play a gig in a decent sized room with this amp. A tremendous amp in a small package.

Well, I picked up this flight case to hold my two 1200's and a ten inch mixer. The build quality is simply excellent, and feels very solid. It has a removable panel to access the front face of your mixer. My mixer doesn't need it, but its nice to have as an option.

Here's what exceeded my expectations:

Access holes going from each section to the next provides a very nice way to connect your cables to your mixer.

It came with tons (and I mean tons) of 'foam shims' to more precisely fit the mixer or tables. The 1200's fit perfectly as they are, but it was nice to shore up the mixer on the sides. (And each shim had velcro on it to keep it in place)

There is enough room behind the turntable to put a power-strip, very nice way to make the whole thing very self-standing having only one power cable to feed from the case.

The rubber feet on the bottom of the case are designed such that the lid can be placed beneath it perfectly, propping it up another five inches (or so).

Overall, I'd totally recommend this flight case to any DJ needing a solid coffin to transport their gear or even a bedroom DJ whose looking for a nice neat/clean looking setup.

I am a DJ and I have to disagree with some reviews saying that this headset is durable.

Sure, the cups and the bend are sturdy and solid, and the sound quality is excellent.

However, the problem is the plastic cover, which ... erm... covers the section where the aluminium slide....erm... slides in and out.

Take a look at the product photo; the white plastic part with CE engraved.

This part is held together by two tiny screws, each screwed into a very brittle plastic mount inside the cover.

The tiny mounts inside the cover, into which the screws are screwed into, are too weak and will break under pressure. This is clearly a design fault.

Two weeks after I bought this the left one failed. I got the headset replaced, and within a week the right side part flew off during a live mix, leaving me with the right earcup helplessly dangling by the wire.

These are by far the best headphones i have ever owned. I was lucky enough to receive these for Christmas from my girlfriend, and i am more than pleased. Being a musician for most of my life, sound quality is extremely important to me and these headphones do not dissapoint. They are capable of reaching frequencies FAR lower than i have ever heard in a set of headphones while still maintaining outrageous sound quality. They are extremely durable and have a very pleasing look as well (I got the Ceramic Mint model). They are a limited edition set with a very nice numbered plate on the side. I highly recommend these to any music enthusiast, or anyone looking for superb sound quality. Not t mention the fact that these are under $100 is an absolute steal.

This product is simply amazing, I am a DJ and with that comes the need for quality headphones. There is simply no need to buy headphones for more than a hundred dollars when these sound just as good. The quality of the material is also good and so they will not break easily.Plus they look cool. The 50mm Driver is the source of the amazing studio like quality these headphones posses. Just get a pair and listen for yourself.

I got these recently from one of their authorized retailers in LA, and I really like them. But there are a couple things to know about them. First, they're "plastic." Probably some sort of nylon derivative that's quite stiff, but they're still plastic for the most part. As a result, they don't feel as robust as my Sony MDR-V6 or many of the other "DJ" headphones one might be cross-shopping for. Also, the installed pads had very small openings and sat "on" my ears, but the included alternate set fit great around my ears instead.

The other "issue" is the sound. The bass and mid-bass are great, especially when compared to the MDR-V6 (more of a monitor than traditional headphone), but the highs seem "veiled." They're attenuated slightly, and it seems around 10kHz and higher. I'm still working them out to break them in, but normally that process loosens the drivers to deliver more bass rather than treble. However, I'm hopeful. :-)

Spend half my life on the road and this is resilient and allows me to use my time in hotels doing something I love. The sound is obviously not as full as a "real" bass and I find the overall volume in the headphones a little low but the feel, neck, weight and everything else certainly is comparable to my home bass. It also holds tune very well given how much time it spends being thumped around airplanes and such. Very pleased.

When I think 'travel bass' I think compromise, I haven't experienced much of that.

When holding the bass, I'm immediately reminded of a P-bass neck, a neck that isn't too tapered off. The split-coil type pickups also sound like them They sound great, nice round tone. This bass also slaps very nicely. With its small body, I didn't expect much sustain out of it... My god does this bass have great sustain. The headphone and aux port is really the icing on the cake as far as it being a portable guitar, they work great ~ Just make sure you bring an extra 9V battery just in case.

The bass I've received had its action set up perfectly, normally a bass players ritual may be to change strings upon receiving a new guitar... After playing for a few hours I have decided that I don't need to, changing strings might be confusing the first time around because of the headstock-less setup. Speaking of that, the strings are fed backwards, making the lower fretted strings thicker, I haven't found that to be a problem It may have had something to do with adding sustain to it as well.

My only gripe with the guitar is that when you slap, I find myself sometimes losing my pop-note finger inside the tuning head cavity... I've gotten more used to it so no biggie.

Highly Recommended!
