The Sony MDR series has been populated by excellent products for decades! I still have 2 two pair in regular use after 20+ years. The MDR-7510 is very sensitive and seals out outside noises better than any thing other than the "stick it in your ear" types. I use these with portable digital recorders from Zoom for field recording of nature sounds and indiginous musical groups. They are perfect for this use. Highly recommended.

Good low impedance headphones. Good for traveling when listening to MP3 music when normal headphones load down players. I travel a lot and was tired of other headphones not getting loud enough, great fidelity and punch

I would recommend these headphones, for home use to listen to music, and for beginning use for creating music. They are light and comfortable, and if they fit my head, they should easily fit anyone else's, (I've got a large skull, lol). Anyway if you like good quality audio, with close-to-realistic sound, I would definitely suggest these, for a pair of headphones that cost $129 it's a good deal.

The padding on the inside, is more sturdy and from the feel of it, it will not flake like my previous headphones have in the past. If used carefully and not tugged at or anything, I feel they will stay durable for a few years at least. I know that with proper care, my older headphones were maintained for at least 7 years, and the only thing that came off was the 'leather' layer of black rubbery material on the outside, hence it flaked off, but the padding--the sponge-like mesh--stayed intact even after so many years. So take care not to tug, pull or rip your headphones when taking them off, and they should last you for years, assuming the sound and quality does not diminish, which I'll add--my previous Sony headphones--MDR-V900HD Dynamic Stereo Headphones, which I still use--are still great, just a little different sound, but otherwise after about 7 years of use, they're still functioning quite well. So all in all, Sony produces good sound-quality headphones. I'm not a fan of too much bass, I like a realistic sound, like when you go anywhere to hear acoustic performances--so far besides my old MDR-V900HD Dynamic Stereo Headphones by Sony, (cost range when I got them 7 years ago--about $260--but I see them on amazon for like $99 refurbished, etc. plus they're probably cheaper overall.) These MDR-7510 by Sony come a lot closer to a good and realistic sound than any other brand I've tried to use. No offense to Audio-Technica, but their Audio-Technica ATH-M50S Professional Studio Monitor Headphones have too much bass, and have a muffled sound, like as if there's a hallway of distance between you and the source from where the music is coming from. So I returned those, and got these Sony MDR-7510 pair. I find them satisfactory being only about $20 more compared to the $119 of the Audio-Technica ATH-M50S ones. But overall, it's really all about what people like, and how they're accustomed to listen to music. So there you have it. :)

These bad boys sound great, last long (if you're just a bit careful) and are priced JUST right! Very comfortable for hours of mixing or just enjoying music. These are the headphones to buy if you are looking for an over-the-ear headphone for a good price.
