This 1/8th in. to digital optical cable helped reduce the noise from my older MacBook Pro laptop connected to our new Denon receiver to almost nothing. It is quite a relief from the very audible hum we had when we were using a 1/8th in. to RCA cable. Yay.

Tried this with my Mac and an Audioengine da converter and i wouldn't work correctly. The sound kept skipping out. I replaced it with an Audioquest usb cable with no problems. The issue may have been more with the Mac's connection port than the cable but either way i did not get desired results and returned it.
