As the title states these cans from Numark are meant for DJing. After all, Numark primarily manufactures DJ equipment. They are a great value. You can find sellers in Amazon for around $100 and they are well worth it. I would happily pay that price again. I have been DJing for over 20 years and have gone through numerous headphones. These are BIG over the ears type headphones, meaning they encompass/cover your ears whereby minimizing the enviromental noise. The muffs are made of very soft felt and are very comfortable; as my daughter stated "It's like a pillow for your ears." The headband is also soft and well padded. I wore these for over an hour and they remained comfortable. Also very sturdy and well built; made to take a beating. I lightly stretched them out and twisted it a few times and they returned to its shape. The 3.5mm cord on the headphone end has a notch on it to lock it in place with a simple 15 degree turn. The other end of the 3.5mm cord has threads for a 1/4" adapter to screw on securely. These came with 2 cordsa long straight cord about 9 feet in length and the other is a curly cord that can stretch out to 9 feet if need be. The sounds produced from the cans are amazing. Cranked up, the lows remained undistorted and the highs and mids still crisp and clear. There is no overpowering in the low frequency. Numark has really tuned these cans well. I even connected it to a headphone amplifier unneccesarily and it still produced great acoustics. Again, a great value and well worth the money. Now, lets talk about the looks and styling of these cans which may decide on your purchase. It's like a future-retro type of look. White and grey/silver. It has a very wide headband design (from left to right) so when worn full on the head and on both ears you look like someone from the seventies just stepped out of a time capsule; the only thing missing are roller skates. I think it's designed that way so that the cans sit well on the ears comfortably. The styling is not for everyone and subjective, but it's growing on me. I wouldn't personally use it outside for casual use, such as jogging or walking with it on the street. But it's great for cueing up music when you're DJing. And thats what I purchased them for. I have no regrets.Buy Numark Electrowave Premium Isolating Headphones Now
I was looking for a good pair of headphones with good sound quality without breaking the bank and I think I made a great purchase with the Electrowave. For the price, I don't think you can go wrong with these. I have listened to the Beats by Dr. Dre and I think these have comparable sound quality for a fraction of the price. I listen to every genre of music from piano to hip hop and these sound great. I give these 4 stars because I think the bass is a little heavy and not really balanced. I found an EQ setting on my iPod that fits all genres well for my preference so I'm satisfied. It comes with two cables: a 10-footer and a shorter coiled cable so that's great.Pros:
Great sound quality for the price
detachable cable
folds for traveling
Comfortable after hours of use
Cons:
Not EQ balanced a bit heavy on the bass
Not totally noise cancelling
a bit bulky but that's what to expect from over-the-ear headphones
Hope this helps make an educated purchase. I would recommend them, especially for a little over $100.

It at first worked fine then later on the right side stopped working which means over a hundred dollars down the drain.Want Numark Electrowave Premium Isolating Headphones Discount?
I have both headphones and the sound is exactly the same, I found no difference except in their designs and comfort and that disappointed me because I expected some more HIFI .If they have the same drive, it would be crazy to expect something different. With that money I could have bought another auricilares, and there is no point having two headphone very similar you do not notice the difference ,but hey, now I go to enjoy them. ....... 5 stars for headphones for their sound and comfort and 1 star the maker for not to support the consumer with more information about the complete difference of these headphonesI originally had Sony MDR-V700DJ headphones and were pleased with them. My annoyance was that the folding mechanism "creaked" and sometimes when I moved my head, the headphones joints would creak and interrupt my tunes. Eventually these broke and I replaced them with cheapo Sony MDR xd200, the worlds lamest headphones ever (no bass or sound richness, headband hurts head after extended use). So coming from that crappy pair, I might be rating the Numark Electrowave higher than I should be, but the thing is that the Electrowave sounds like heaven on my ears, and are super comfortable when wearing for extended periods.PROS

no creaking sound from the joints
great bass! I'm no audiophile but it doesn't sound that muddy to me. I though youtube videos used to be coded poorly, but with these my youtube playlists make me feel like I'm in a club!!!
affordable price
50mm driver units
replaceable cord
comes with 2 cords (one coiled, one straight)
comes with the fatter headphone connector in case you need it

Some users have mentioned they look goofy. They may, but if you're using these indoors in front of your computer, nobody will see you. And you'll be enjoying exceptional sound quality!
the earpads are cloth, this makes it SUPER ULTRA comfortable, but if you use these while working out or doing pushups in front of your computer (and get sweaty), I'm not sure what kind of condition they will be in afterwards.
the fit is snug, so depending on the size of your head, it may be too tight.
