I read all of the great reviews on this item and thought it was a no-brainer.

When I first opened the keyboard, the right speaker didn't work. I tried it out with headphones and found that the output was fine, it was just the speaker. So I flipped it over, took the back off to take a look.

One of the speaker's wires wasn't soldered onto the speaker. So I just soldered it on and it worked great.

I would like to state. Yes this item sounds great, can't wait to give it to my wife for Christmas. I gave it 3 stars because I think it's pretty crappy that something from Yamaha would be assembled so poorly.

Def buy if in the market, but if a speaker doesn't work, take a look at the innards.

Cheers

suitable for begginners like me, for a very affordable prize....it didn't come with an AC adapter but it's fine, it shows all it's features. I'm very happy with it.

This piano was exactly what I was looking for. Very portable, great sound and great product overall!! I really am glad I bought this and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good piano that is relatively cheaper.

Make sure you purchase the OPTIONAL power supply which adds an additional $15+ to the cost of the keyboard. Granted, this product is really just a toy, but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect Yamaha to include a power supply.

As a professional musician and synthesist, I bought this as a toy for my grandson and grand daughter. Although they are 20 months and 9 months respectively, I wanted them to experience a real instrument and be able to play with it without the fear of doing something wrong or possibly breaking it. First, I was blown away by the sophistication of the keyboard's sounds and sequences. I remember when 20 years ago this type of instrument didn't exist and if you could find the components it would have cost about $10,000. I remember because I had that type of set-up for my "road" travel band instruments. Secondly, it seems to be impossible to break. Two "babies" love to pound on it and experiment with the sounds and beats, They literally will play with all day. Fortunately I don't live there and so my son and his wife are forced to put it away when "grandpa" leaves so they can get some rest. Bottom line this is an incredible teaching tool for future musicians who will undoubtably play instruments that I only dreamed about. As far as more serious students are concerned, if this is your only source for a keyboard buy it!
