Well.... You have probably heard a lot about ZT amps already right? This one(Lunchbox Acoustic)lives up to the ZT name and delivers! I tried it out with my brother, he was on guitar, I was singing. It was crankin'. We didn't have a drummer around at the time, but I think the volume would of been plenty loud enough to compete with your average drummer. No problem. The controls are straight forward and very usable. A lot of options on this little thing! Phantom power! Sweet! Reverb on both channels....etc...etc... I have talked to people who have said with a bigger speaker this amp really cranks! I have yet to try it, but with it's built-in 6.5" speaker I have no complaints! The portability factor alone is awesome! One thing I did notice, if you want a super clean sound, crank the gain up really loud and then use the volume for the overall "volume" of sound. What a complete disappointment. I ordered this amp thinking it was 200 watts with a DI output, a woofer specially designed to handle large excursions for high volume applications, and a natural acoustic sound. The amp I received had none of these. I measured the amp power at about 130 watts RMS. The output jack that is labeled DI is anything but that, neither balanced nor transformer isolated. The paper woofer has a pressed paper surround not even a butyl rubber surround for response linearity as the volume goes up. And the sound? It's a modeled pre-amp stage but with no user access to the modeling parameters. I hear a guitar sound that some talented software engineers created to their liking in Berkeley CA. I don't hear the sound of my guitar as it sounds unplugged or through good acoustic amps that sound transparent.ZT is misrepresenting this product in their marketing and advertising -not a 200 watt amp, no DI, no linear woofer response with increasing volume, and a contrived modeled sound. What surprises me most is that the professional magazine reviewers haven't picked up on any of this, except for a few who have pointed out that the amplifier is not as powerful as ZT says it is.

Do not let the size fool you. This amp is very capable from going from practice space to the stage. It is loud enough to hang with a drummer and the 6.5 speaker can deliver great tone. If you need more bottom, no problem, the Lunchbox is capable of driving an 8-ohm or higher cabinet.The controls are simple and very intuitive. There is "ambience" which mimics the sound of an open or closed back speaker as well as tone, volume and drive. On the back, you will find a headphone jack and a separate volume control. This can be used to plug directly into a PA or recording console. This way you can use this as a DI into the house and use the 6.5-inch speaker as your own personal monitor. There is a switch to turn on and off the onboard speaker.
Total weight of the unit is about 9 pounds and fits very comfortably into a gig bag. It is very handy for grab and go gigs and works great with pedals. For a solid state amp it does deliver decent tone but some players used to playing with 12 inch speakers may take advantage of the speaker jack on the back and plug into a cab of their choice.
Very important! Everything about this amp is proprietary; you cannot swap out the speaker. However, for an amp that can peak at 200 watts (well more like 123 rms), weighs 9 lbs, flexibility, and costs under $300, it is the best thing going right now in amplifier design. And this is coming from a tube amp user.

Probably the best option of this type. Small enough to fit in a backpack, with power for a small club. Probably 200 watts is a little exagerated, but this guy will be heard for sure... also, if you have an overdrive pedal, you can get some Decent transistor Rock Sounds. In the acoustic/ jazz field really shines. Try one...
Gives you the ability to dial in just the right amount of vocal & guitar. Have used this very low at times & very loud at times. Very pleased with sound & love the ease of operation. Dial in reverb,etc. for each channel to match your taste.
Have sold 2 pricey p.a.s since purchasing this lunchbox.
A must for any singer-songwriter that plays small venues at times. Most coffeeshops, etc i've been to have subpar sound systems. Bring your own lunchbox & you know the sound will be good. Any house concert, coffeeshop, small venue owners, pick one up. You will not regret it.
I may not be an expert on sound but do consider myself qualified to some degree. My home system consists of Bryston, Classe, PS Audio, Benchmark, Musical Fidelity & Martin-Logans. So I do know good sound when I hear it & am disappointed at the sound in many smaller venues. If they all had ZT Lunchbox gear then I would know the sound will be satisfying(that is if the artist is good!)
