I bought this item to use the included splitter (not for the headphones). The splitter is exactly what I needed to be able to use a credit card swiper like Square/Intuit without having to remove my iPhone from its Otterbox. The reader was recognized without an issue. I haven't tried the headphones and probably never will!

While the mic works fairly well and records cleanly, the earbuds are very "muddy", producing almost no treble. Perfect (I suppose) if you're one of those type that ride around with a car full of sub-woofers, but for anyone wanting to hear their music, go with something else.

I have partial hearing loss and often have to dial into conference calls for work. The frequency output of these headphones is absolutely unacceptable. I reverted to my Sony earbuds (with no mic) and use those, holding the iPhone to my mouth to talk. Nice idea, but Macally did not put enough focus on the critical element: sound. Fail.

This product is absolutely awful. The idea and functionality is great but the build feels cheap and the sound is unbearable to listen to. I would rather just hold the speaker to my ear. Please do not buy these!!!!
