This is my first guitar. I am very happy with it. I am a beginner just starting to learn how play guitar. you will need a 9v battery for the tuner. all parts of the kit appear to be of reasonable quality and over all I am happy with my purchase. many of my friends who play guitar have commented that it is a very good guitar for the money. my only complaints are as follows.#1 it is a shortened version of the DVD that fender sells. it'll get you started, but I quickly needed more to go where I want to playing/style wise
#2 there is no description of the extra parts and tools that come with the guitar or how to install the whammy bar.
#3 there is nothing about care and maintenance of the guitar. though there is about the amp.
for a true beginner like myself I feel that #2 and #3 are very important.
I would highly suggest buying a stand, and pick holder, and some type of non abrasive cleaning cloth. I read many review saying the strings should be replaced, so for I find no issues with the ones on mine, but I did get a pack for the eventuality it will need to be done. I also ended up getting a different strap as I found the one that came with it was not to my liking... but really I think that was more of my personal taste and comfort then an issue with the kit's strap.
I would highly recommend this kit to anyone just starting out like myself. playing is a dream come true and I am having a complete blast!This is really a great deal for the money. I have played acoustic guitar for years and wanted to try out electric without putting too much money in it. The guitar sounds great. My only complaint is the amp and cable both are not great, but will get you by for awhile.
If you want to.get started on electic guitar this is the perfect setup.If you are looking for your first guitar and don't want to invest alot of money, this is a good guitar. The amp that this pack comes with is good for the first month or so, then it starts to sound plain and makes the sound seem dry. The guitar is not to be blamed; if it was plugged into something with more effects or sounds it would be much better. The strings that it comes with are terrible, throw them away right away. They rust and loose tone after 2 days of using them. The only awfull thing about the guitar itself is the neck. When it arrived, it had a bow. When I took it to a guitar shop they said it was the worst they have ever seen. I left it with them and it got fixed so it isn't permanent. Also, the bridge and neck pickup hum alot. To fix that just use either the neck/middle or bridge/middle pickups, or get away from anything electronic.I love it. It sounds great and is well made for the price
. It lives up to the Fender name.
