i bought this originally to use with my headphones and to rewire them to be used for speaker output uses and become more versatile in connectivity since XLR is pretty much universal in professional audio. i could now use my AKG 240 sextetts LP(600ohms) off of both speaker outputs and headphone outs of amps and other equipment which is such a life-saver cause it's nice using my headphones off big class A amps due to much more power output compared to any headamp on the market.my headphones were already designed balanced with a 4-core 1/4'' TRS jack so it was very simple rewire. it might look confusing at first cause the housing comes with no instructions but it's pretty straight forward and there is tons of online instructions if you get stuck. it's a fantastic quality connector. it's pretty bulky,heavy, but very sturdy connector if you solder your wire all correctly. the holes has enough room for larger gauges wire and it's pretty easy to sleeve the cable since the rubber hole/part stretches very easily and flexible. be careful and very patient though when working with it cause the pins and contacts are made of silver so there not as tough as copper or other metals but they still are sturdy as long as you don't man handle them. shipping was pretty quick and it came very well packed.
