let me give some advise about anybody trying to cut corners on cost,dont do it,i spent $ 120 dollars on these stands and believe me it is worth every penny of it,they are sturdy and well built, made out of aluminum,which makes it light weight but built strong,eazy to adjust the mounting pole and can fit any size speaker hole by takeing the pole out and turning it on the other side of the pole,eliminateing the need to buy mounting brackets for the speakers,and the stands were shipped in good sturdy boxes,all i can say you can take a chance and buy some $ 50 dollar stands and hope they dont come scrached up or broken when they arrive at your door step,or you can just spend a little extra money and you will know you will have some good qualty stands arriveing at your door step in a good qualty box,so you want have a dent or a scratch on them.from dj mark ,chicago, ill.

These stands are very sturdy, held up 80 pound speakers with no problems and very little wobbling. Much lighter than steel pole stands. Nice design on the reversible top pole to accomodate both standard sized mounting holes without an adapter. The included bag is also thick and durable, more like thick cordura, not the thin nylon rain jacket type material. The bag also had a sewn in center nylon divider running the full length of the bag, which keeps the two stands separated for less noise (and scratches) when transporting.

I also find that these stands are sturdier than most 5-7' photo lightstands, so I may just double duty these as lightstands and backdrop stands with the right clamps.

I had been borrowing these speaker stands from a school I work with for my occasional gigs. They're sturdy and light and just what I need. The new price along with the quality carry bag make this a definite "must have" addition to anybody's rig! I now have my own!

I've been using these stands for years and I'm here to tell you to buy the things already!! I bought these to augment the ones I already have and use on a regular basis. They are sturdy, lightweight, and stand up to the abuse of pounding speakers (without falling); as well as being put up and down and in and out of the truck. I prefer to use these stands over other stands.

I borrowed a pair of these and liked them so much I bought my own. For the price, the construction is beefy and the legs open so wide that it would take a real klutz to knock them over. The only parts I have some reservation about are the plastic (fiberglass?) collars that slide to adjust the post extension and tripod legs. I have no reason to doubt that they will last but would have prefered a metal fitting.

The post extension can be flipped to fit two sizes of speaker mounts. The smaller end fits my Mackie SRM 350s perfectly. The bag is a real plus: The zipper works well and there's a padded divider inside to keep the stands from banging against each other. Packed up, the stands take up little space in my trunk.

I believe these stands would handle the SRM450s, but I probably wouldn't put any speaker heavier or larger than that on them.

Highly recommended (within reason).
