I bought this Hosa cable after buying a much cheaper unbranded cable. The unbranded cable had a terrible loud buzz whilst plugged in (although the buzzing did go away after a sound source was plugged in). This cable, on the other hand, was excellent acoustically there was no buzzing at all, and sound quality seems really good.

Furthermore, I stripped apart the cable for a project. Don't let thickness of other wires fool you. Although both the unbranded cable and the Hosa cable were of a very good thickness, the Hosa cable consists of two approx 23-25 AWG wires inside (left and right signals), with generous wire "shielding" for the ground. Very good.

The unbranded cable consisted of 3 thin wires inside (thinner than Hosa's L/R wires) so the unbranded cable was actually a cheap unshielded, with just a thick rubber coating to make it look more expensive since it's the amount of copper in these cables that's expensive, not the rubber.

I have an onkyo 5.1 receiver that has a 1/4 headphone jack on it. I have a polk audio surround sound system. I wanted to use the headphone jack on my receiver so I wouldn't disturb anyone late at night if I wanna watch a movie or play xbox 360. I was going to buy a new pair of headphones that have a 1/4 plug, but I was really against it because I have a pair of the bose quiet comfort 15 headphones, and any $40 headphones wouldn't sound as good as my bose headphones. I'm not a fan of bose speakers, but my headphones sound good to me, and I got them for christmas anyway so I didn't pay for them. I looked at some other adapters on amazon, but many just have the plug and not an extension cord as well. This adapter is awesome!!! The 25 foot length is more than enough for me. I can sit where I usually sit to watch movies and play games and I have way more than enough cord. My bose headphones easily plug into the adapter and there is a nice click sound when they're connected. The connection is firm and secure; it's not flimsy at all. Its a very good, solid connection. I honestly can't tell a difference in sound quality either. I usually listen to 5.1 surround sound when Im playing games or watching movies, but when the headphones are plugged in, my receiver automatically goes to 2 channel stero mode. Obviously 5.1 surround sounds better than 2 channel stereo, but I can't tell the difference between the other stereo content I listen to. The sound is as good as if I'm listening to my ipod. This adapter was the perfect solution! Now I can watch movies and play games whenever I want and I won't have to worry about disturbing anyone else. Great product! Great shipping! Don't hesitate to buy this!

When the amp came out of the box I was amazed to discover that the volume was turned up all the way. I needn't have worried. The output is so low that you'd have trouble hearing this amp over room conversation. I'm hoping that I was sent a defective unit, and have returned it for a replacement. I will post another review after the replacement unit arrives. But if this is the best it can do I say stay away from it.

Don't waste your money on this amplifier. I ordered one in October 2011 as a Christmas gift for my grandson. I did not open the box to inspect because there were no signs of trauma to the box. When my grandson opened it, the manufacturer's box was also pristine and gave no indication to what he found when he took the amp out. The top of the amp was cracked and the front of the amp was smashed in. Because both the shipping box and the manufacturer's box were not dented, this amp had to have been damaged when it was packaged by the manufacturer. There's just no other way this kind of damage occurred without a dent on either box. Of course, it was too late to return this for a full refund, so we just ordered him another one. Guess what? Both the shipping box and the amp box were in perfect shape. So was the second amplifier. The only hitch is that this one doesn't work. It won't even buzz. Needless to say, we're sending this one back, as well as the other. I'm not sure just how much it will cost to ship both back because we have Amazon Prime, but it will definately more than they are worth. Please save your money and find an amp manufactured by someone else!

I am a male with very small ears. I bought these headphones because they were designed for women and smaller ears. They are a great buy for the price. Sound quality is good, and as promised do not fall out even during the most strenuous crossfit work outs. They only issues I have is that they are still too big for small ears and they start to hurt behind the ear after about an hour of wear. Also I question the durability, after one month the behind the ear part is falling off.

I have a nice big Laney amp, but I don't have room to keep it out all the time. Enter the Stack in a Box. This clips right on my guitar strap or on a belt, and I plug in and play, litening via headphones.

The sound is really good, considering. The output can be run out to my stereo in the living room or to an amp where you can use the distortion to play around. Again, the quality is not as good as a pedal through an amp, but when space is tight, this is convenient and crisp. It stores right in the gig bag with the guitar or hangs easily on the strap when I have the guitar in use or resting on the stand. It is almost as convenient as playing my acoustic.

This is a blast to play with. I play my Strat and my older Carvin through this when I need to keep it quiet. Be careful that you don't get carried away with the volume or you'll feel like you just got home from a concert when you go to bed. I have had no feedback issues with it and I've been using mine for several years. great on battery life, too. This is a 70's rocker's dream come true because you can play clean, a little gain or full blown Marshall ecstasy, the choice is yours. I use my own Koss headphones and the results are outstanding.(to me anyway) Pick one of these up and you'll stay up way too late playing your axe, I promise.

i honestly didn't know what to expect but it worked. i don't know if all the ultra static and high pitch squealing was because of my guitar or the amp. i never heard it before in a regular amp.

who knows, i basically muscled passed the squeals and it sounds great.

[squeals on distortion settings only...on clean it's great]

Arrived in a solid cardboard box easy to unpack.

Installing the battery was simple (I remember reading someone's comments that they couldn't fit the battery in the box -I don't understand which planet they were on at the time of trying this), and it works well.

I thought having just the 2 volume settings might be a problem, but the low volume is just fine, and of course you can control the volume with the guitar. Distortion is good -basically it is a fun toy that has meant I've got out my guitar more often and had more fun then for many years. If you want to play "loud" guitar and not disturb others I recommend this product.

I'm certainly not a professional, however, I do know what a piano is supposed to sound like, and I know the difference between a Harpsichord, Organ, and a Harmonica: 'nuff said.

First of all I would like to say that the Williams Digital Piano is by far the best instrument I have ever owned, next to my toy, an old Casio keyboard that I owned for quite some time, I was happy to finally sell that off in a garage sale. When I went hunting for another piano, I took my Sony headphones and headed off to various stores with digital pianos. This one by far sounded the closest to a real upright piano (Well, the Yamaha was closer, but another 1K more expensive...), and it had the features and look I was wanting.

Pros ---

1. The weighted digital piano keys mimic perfectly the hammer-action of a real piano, and the sound is equally amazing. As I said I tested it out in headphones, and even at home in total silence the headphones are clear as anything and sound perfect. The built-in speakers that are attached to the piano work equally as well. I 'tested' it note-for-note, unplugging my headphones and listening to the built-in speakers, and I can safely say that I don't hear a difference at all. No "fuzzy-sounds", no buzzing, no humming, etc. Sounds nice.

2. After listening to several Harpsichord songs, I played a few notes on the piano to compare. So far I can't tell the difference between the notes played in the song and the ones I played on the piano.

3. Same with the Organ and string setting, both sound equally realistic and about as close to an acoustic piano as I'm going to get without spending thousands of dollars.

4. I actually bought this piano online, yes, from Musicians Friend. No, I am not an employee there, nor have I ever heard of it. I did call them up to see how exactly it was going to be mailed. I mean, sure it is less than 1K for the digital piano, but I wanted to make sure it wasn't going to end up in several pieces on my doorstep. I have to say the piano box arrived in no less than perfect condition. Go with Musicians Friend if you are going to buy this!

Cons ---

1. Okay, so again I'm new at this. So, of COURSE I played the Play-Along songs while I waited for my real books to arrive. One of the irks I have is that when you use the digital piano to listen to the play-along songs, be forewarned that it is MUCH louder than when you are playing the piano normally. Also, if you are trying to play along, you have to compensate the volume by turning it down to hear the song correctly, but I also had a hard time hearing what I was playing on the piano!

2. Same thing goes with the metronome. It is MUCH louder than the 'volume' of the piano. If I had to change something, it would be how loud the Metronome sounds as compared to the piano. The volume, when recording songs and playing them back, however, is at the 'same volume' as the piano. Don't know if it is just my piano or what, but listening to the Play-Along songs and using the metronome is quite annoying.

3. I'm a computer programmer. I bought this piano because it came with a USB cable, anddd I thought I could use my computer knowledge to retrieve the songs off of the Williams Digital Piano. Not-so-much. There is no way to get the recorded songs off of the piano, the only thing the USB cable does is transmit the MIDI messages to a computer if you have the correct software installed. For me, kinda pointless.

Well, I think that about sums it up. Oh yeah, well, I don't think that this is a "Con" per-se, however: this piano comes disassembled. Which means that you have to assemble it. Fine, but the problem lies: this piano does not have instructions included to tell you how to assemble the piano. I, personally, was able to assemble is promptly. However, at first it was irksome laying out all the pieces and figuring out what goes where.

Buy Williams Overture 88 Key Digital Piano Now

This digital piano looks great, and sounds even better.

I am glad I bought it. I was looking for good quality without spending thousands, and that's what I got.

I feel very positively about the instrument. It offers what I wanted: a few basic voices (I mostly just wanted a good piano soundit offers 3 of them), and a very high quality sound.

(The negatives, and these are minor for most players: I often use a very light touch on the keys...the 3 piano voices do not pick that up too well, even though the instrument has touch sensitivity options. Much like some baby grand pianos, I have to strike the keys a little harder to get sound, which is not my style. For most players though, this will not even be an issue.

Another negative is that the sustain pedal does not have as heavy as a sustain on the piano sounds as I would like... again, this is something relative to my style of playing and will not affect most players. Plus, it lets you add and adjust reverb.)

In any event, for this price I got much, much more than I expected. I am extremely pleased.

Has it's own internal speaker...You can plug headphones into it too...Some assembly is required.

I just bought this piano yesterday and didn't read the reviews until now.

My opinion is this:

This instrument is wonderful. I am a 10+year piano player. I have a bachelor's in music and grew up with my own cherry Yamaha baby grand in a room with hardwood floors. If you don't know, that just means I have the alpha piano to compare it to.

To be clear, this comes nowhere close. But then again, my parents spent upwards of 10 grand on that piano and it was used and on sale.

I bought this for $499 at Guitar Center in San Antonio and they threw a piano bench in for free. From what I've seen, you cannot get an upright digital piano for cheaper. Period. That being said, this piano rivals most of the upright acoustics I've played on and blows all the others out of the water. The most annoying thing about an average upright is that the older they get they less they hold their tune, and random keys may lose tension. Keyboards tend to have unstable stands (not good with little ones around), and it is seriously frustrating when I lose the sustain pedal in the middle of a piece because it's not anchored to anything. This piano takes care of all of that. And to compare to an acoustic upright for $500 you just won't find it in any store. You might find it on Craigslist, but good luck with that..

About the piano itself: The action is good. Not performance standard, but good. Much better than a lot of older though well taken care of acoustic pianos. The sustain pedel isn't what I'd like it to be, but I haven't figured out all the settings yet. And all my college professors yelled at me for overusing it anyway. :) Overall, a quality piece of equipment. Definitely compare to others the same price, but as a professional who actually went around and played all the under $800 pianos in San Antonio, this one definitely takes the cake.

I bought this piano (open box) from a local music store for quite a bit under comparable models from Casio and Yamaha. The good thing about the piano is it looks nice. Good accent furniture when not in use. It has three pedals like real pianos and the sound and action seemed good to my son who has been playing piano for four years.

The piano is over hundred pounds and the materials used for wood looking parts is not of very good quality but this was also the case for Casio's and Yamaha's. When I brought the piano home I noticed that the foot pedal cable missing. I went to Williams Piano web site and guess what no phone number for customer support (red flag). They just have an e-mail address for support questions. Despite writing a couple of e-mails I received no reply's to get a replacement foot pedal cable. The piano has a 1 year warranty but I am not sure how one would claim warranty coverage given that you can't even get hold of customer support? I eventually cannibalized a Casio' foot pedal cable and was able to get all pedals working because I bought this piano so cheap.

The action of the piano is not very good. First of all no matter how slowly you press the white keys, the piano has the same loudness after a point. This is not the case with Yamaha and Casio. You can press a white key softly and make no sound at all. Interestingly, the action on the black keys are much better. The piano has four touch sensitivity settings but almost no discernible change in touch sensitivity among these four settings. I have to hit the keys pretty hard to get decent sound though this is not a problem for my son who used to play a real piano. The sustain pedal is pretty realistic. There is a hiss coming from the speakers though it is difficult to notice. When using headphones, the hiss is very distracting. The piano has much better sound if connected to an external speaker system through "Line out" RCA ports. Interestingly, the piano has Line in RCA jacks and it will accept audio sources such as IPOD's microphones, etc allowing you to use the piano speakers as an amplifier. One nice touch is that there is a USB port that you can use to connect your computer to the piano. On the computer, the piano appears as a midi device and no driver installation is needed. You can use Synthesia or Anvil Studio MIDI software to practice MIDI songs, record what you played and use one of the 128 piano voices (when not connected to the computer piano has only 15 voices). My son really likes practicing with Synthesia on this piano. He can download MIDI songs, play them through the pianon's sound module through his computer and practice them afterwards. He can also directly record his performances to his computer.

Overall good buy but the lack of customer support is really annoying. I will keep the piano until my son grows out of it.

Update: Williams piano has actually contacted me after about three weeks of waiting and they sent me a foot pedal cable free of charge. Better late than never, I guess:) The cable is useless at this point but now I know that they will stand by their product. In light of this I upgraded my rating to three stars.

I purchased this particular electric piano from a Guitar Center. I was looking for a piano that would be relatively easy to move yet still have decent sound. Here are a few things I found while putting it together and playing it.

Assembly

Incredibly easy. There are five main parts to this unit and everything to assemble the parts is included in the box, including a single sheet of instructions that are amazingly easy to follow. The hardest part of putting it together (if you're doing it alone) is lifting the main part onto the base, it's a little heavy and large for a single person, but doable. I will advise you that before you put the keyboard section on the base, that you turn over the pedal board and cut the zip ties of the pedal cable that must connect to the keyboard section. The instructions do not mention this until last, and tipping over the fully assembled piano is a pain.

Sound

I am a musician, and even though piano isn't my primary instrument, I can tell a real piano from an electric one. I am in no way disappointed by the piano sound, it's quite a bit better than some I've heard; I have no real opinion on the other voices (Harpsichord, E. Piano, Strings, and Organ) other than to comment on that they each have a few variations. This unit has two headphone jacks that accept only a 6.35mm plug, while plugged in the headphones have a light buzzing.

Feel

The keys don't feel exactly like a traditional piano, but they are infinitely better than a standard keyboard. I will admit that I have to press the keys a littler harder than I'd like to achieve the volume I want. But there are settings within the setup menu to combat that.

Bells and whistles

There are several interesting things built into the piano, including two track recording, play-along songs (with accompanied book), several demo songs, transposing, split piano, etc.

Buy this piano if:

-You're on a budget and you still want a decent sound.

-You plan on moving often and don't feel like lugging an upright everywhere.

-You want to practice without disturbing others in the room.

-You want an authentic piano sound without owning an actual piano.

-You don't want to have to worry about tuning.

I don't DJ "out" that often, but when I do, I use this. I have a great pair of headphones (these Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Professional Studio Monitor Headphones with Coiled Cable but the adjustable nature of them can be kind of frustrating when you are behind the decks dealing with records and all the other stuff that gathers back there. Once you get used to the stick--it's actually easier than it looks, it's just holding an old phone receiver to your ear--I honestly think you'll wonder why you waited so long to get this. The sound is PUNCHY and very good--surprisingly good--and for the price, it's hard to pass up. I now feel (if not sound) like an old school New York DJ, it's kind of fun.

I thought this would be an almost silly, "luxury" purchase, but I am thrilled with the headphone...and let's face it, it's a fantastic conversation starter.

If you play out a lot, this is for you. If you do a lot of "spot" listening for editing and the like, it might useful, but this is really a very specific device for DJ'ing...

ATH-W5000 Raffinato is one of the most detailed headphones, and their soundstage is really wide and three-dimensional. There are great reverberations (because of closed wooden cups), which are especially good for acoustic music and female vocals. Three words, which are most associated with their sound: airy, clear and detailied. ATH-W5000 has upward shift in tonal balance. They don't really lack of low frequinces, but they aren't bassy, especially in comparison with Denon AH-D7000 or Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro. The quality of Raffinato's lower frequinces is very good, but there may be lack of quantity. So, ATH-W5000 is definitely poor solution (considiring their 1000$ price) for metal and other heavy music. You should buy Denon AH-D7000 for it, or pay 500$ more and buy Ultrasone Edition 9. But for classical music, jazz and other kinds of acoustic music, ATH-W5000 is by far the best solution from all non-electrostatic serial headphones (from all dynamic headphones, excluding Sony MDR-R10, Sony Qualia 010 and ATH-L3000).

Like all headphones, this one too has a distinct sound, ie. it is not neutral. I find the W5000 to be the right balance between warm and neutral. The soundstage is very large, and all the details are present. I find that when listening to vocals, especially female vocals, or listening to a concerto, the solo instrument/vocals tend to stand out, making it harder to hear the details. It sounds very natural, but is a matter of preference. Additionally, the bass is not as pronounced as on other headphones--it is there, and very tight, but not overwhelming. I like it better than the Denon D2000, which is too cold and analytical. Compared to other ATH offerings such as the A900 and the ES7, it has a much wider soundstage, but the flavor of sound is pretty much the same. Basically, you are just getting more of the benefits of those headphones--more details, more soundstage, etc. I have used this with an Onkyo receiver hooked up to a Sony DVD player, and it sounds very good. It also works well with my Cowon D2, and also very well with my Sansa Clip, believe it or not. Basically, it has very low impedance, so I can listen to it at a fairly loud volume with my Clip volume set at 3/4 of max. Overall, a great headphone that gives you great enjoyment, even if you don't spend the extra thousand to buy an amplifier and DAC.

I have had these for just a few days now, and I have to say they are beautiful. They are the perfect closed compliment to my open AD2000, and I really can't wait to get my RA5000 amplifier back from servicing but they sound quite good out of my hybrid HiFiMAN EF5 as well. I highly recommend these for their clear as a bell "Audio Technica house sound". If that is your thing, the W5000 is a real treat to listen to. Like my AD2000, I had to stuff some surgical tubing behind the earpads to get the inside of the cup off of my ear physically, no biggie but that design flaw is the only reason these earned less than 5 stars.

I bought my Audio Technica ATH-W5000 "Raffinato" headphones from J&R Music World several months ago. These are the best headphones that I have ever owned. I am a member at Head-Fi.Org under my real name; I have written a longer review about my headphones. There is a distinct Audio Technica house sound so you have been forewarned. These headphones excel at reproducing classical, opera, female vocals, and acoustic music. They are very stylish and lightweight on my head. The fit and finish are impeccable. If you can afford these headphones and you have heard other Audio Technica headphones, then I would recommend these top of the line headphones. They are truly for collectors of high end audiophones.

Bought this as my first high end earphone. Amazon Marketplace sold me Used-Like New condition which is an accurate description. The packaging is very well done and definitely is reusable many time.

Upon unpacking, I left it burn in for about 3 consecutive days with Beethoven: String Quartet in C Minor, Op. 18, No. 4 & String Quartet in B-Flat Major, Op. 130, with the Grosse Fuge, Op. 133 on Marantz SA-KI Pearl with moderate-high volume on loop. The disc is choosen for its great dynamic range and also is pretty much the kind of music I would be listening to most of the time. Oh boy! Over time, the changes are noticable. The soundstage widens, attacks and decays are as they should be on the viola and violin. In other words, timbre is beautifully presented on this earphone. I would not call it the most accurate earphone on the market but it certainly is one that produces and presents very pleasant sound to the ears.

Tested on another disc My One & Only Thrill and again, this earphone delivers above my expectation. Melody's vocal is not in your face but it is presented in an authentic manner in a reasonably sized soundstage with enough body. The music simply just flows.

As far as comfort goes, I don't have problems with this earphone. It feels that it comes with the right weight to me and I can wear it for a few hours without problems.

Though it has a closed back design, in terms of external sound isolation, it is not the most dead quiet earphone but more than enough for home-office environment. Also, this does not concern me for my application.

Overall, this is a happy purchase. This earphone was released many years ago but it still holds true as one of the reference earphones out there in the market. I can recommend it without any reservation.

very good heaphone, good noise cancelling,is able to take cord off and switch to the other ear. bass is very good without going into mids or highs. imo better than any beats for half the price . also suggest the audio techncia ath m50. may feel a little tight at first. good for extended period of time. ALSO the input cable into the headphone has a lock feature simply turn the tip left or right . when i first used it i noticed the sound kept distorting this happens when not locked.

I do not understand those who complain and say they are bad, have hearing problems? Although it is constructed of plastic, feel strong and sturdy, the sound quality is excellent and it has nothing to envy about a Beats by Dr. Dre. If you want to pay double or more than double by a "b" do it, but if you want sound quality, comfort and versatility and for much less try these. These headphones are professional, high definition, bass do not have to take you out of place the eardrums, are designed to clearly hear musical instruments since most are located in the mid and high frequencies. I highly recommend them.

The headset is very comfortable and the sound is decent, but the flimsy plastic headband creaked and broke when only a few weeks old.

I got these cause I make songs on f.l. 10 studio edition and I got the cheapest beats I could. Seen these and figured they may be pretty good. Man was I wrong. If someone does like these its because they have never listened to a set of beats.
