If you're like me, and want to modify these bad-boy's to make them sound much better, then you're gonna have to do some purchasing, much of which can be done here on amazon. I'll list those products first, and then we can get to what you might need from elsewhere. I'm not going to list exactly what or how to modify these as that's part of the fun. But if you do a google search for "Fostex TRP50 Modifications" you'll find a wiki over at head-fi that lists every public modification listed there. I have tried a number of them and came up with my own concoction that I like the best.

Alrighty, here's what you'll need:

DYNAMAT -

Dynamat 10415 10" x 10" x 0.067" Thick Self-Adhesive Sound Deadener with Xtreme Speaker Kit Pair

SILVERSTONE FOAM

SilverStone 21-Inch x 15-Inch 4mm Thick 2-Piece Sound Dampening Acoustic EP0M Silent Foam SF01 (Black)

MODELING CLAY

Chenille Kraft Modeling Clay Assortment

COTTON BALLS Used to go between the ear-cup and back of the driver when the sides are screwed back together. Try to experiment with how much you use, it's always helps the sound but using more = smoother mid-bass hump, less = more mid-bass hump.

Classic Cotton Balls (100 Jumbo Size)

MD PRODUCTS insulating tape: If you use this on the front of the driver you can provide a good "seal" around where the earpads go.

M-D Building Products 2733 High Density Foam Tape, 3/16-by-3/8-Inch-by-17 feet, Closed Cell, White

CRAFT FELT:

Kunin Foss Stiffened Friendly Felt 9"X12" Black K461-937; 12 Items/Order

TRANSPORE TAPE can be used under the craft felt that is placed on the back of the driver to provide more "sparkle."

3M Transpore Clear 1-Inch Wide First Aid Tape, 10-Yard Roll (2 Rolls)

ELECTRICAL TAPE Use to cover the vents on the bottom of each cup to shape the bass. You can do anything from a full cover to partial cover of the vents on either the inside or outside of the cup.

3M Scotch Super 33+ Vinyl Electrical Tape, .75-Inch by 66-Feet

HEADBAND CUSHION: These things are incredibly un-comfortable if you don't cushion the headband. This fits with a little elbow grease and if very comfortable.

NEW! Replacement Upgrade Headband Comfort Cushion Pad in Leatherette with snap locks. Universal fit most Headphone models; Grado SR SRi-series, Sennheiser HD-series, Beyerdynamic and more.

SHURE EARPADS: Nice and comfy

Shure HPAEC840 Replacement Ear Cushions For SRH840 Headphones

ALSO, you may want a shorter cord for your headphone. I recommend going to the v-moda site and buying one of their non-mic'd cables that are about three or 4 feet in length. They're nice and fit the trp-50 perfectly!

Please see my website for more info of modded headphones:

Happy modding!

PS Damping these by doing any mods will make these already hard to drive headphones even more persnickity. I use a schiit lyr headphone amp and these can be decently driven by some decent portable amps....just a word of caution!

If youre buying these for out of the box performance, youre most likely going to be disappointed if youre looking for a super accurate highly detailed pair of cans with great bass extension.

Fortunately, a bit of modding can transform these things into everything they can possibly be.

Firstly, the earpads are not that comfortable. Theyre shallow enough so that people with larger dumbo ears like myself find it very uncomfortable to extended listening because the inner cup is pressing against your ear. BUY THE SHURE HPAEC840 PADS!!! Talk about comfort... roll up some tissue and shove it under the pad to increase comfort, sound staging, and a tad bit of bass due to a better seal around the ear.

Second, grab some crayola modeling clay. Take off the pads (if youre keeping the stock pads, be careful because theyre taped on with double sided tape. the tape is strong enough to rip the pleather) and pack the clay flush with the cavities on the back side of the driver baffle. One hole is a bass port that is open to the ear side of the baffle, dont fill that one. TALK ABOUT DETAIL. The baffle is no longer flexing due to the driver and everything is much more detailed. Extended bass, detailed mids, and clear highs. Cheap, easy, makes a real difference.

Third, shove 3-4 torn up cotton balls in the cups. Reflecting soundwaves from certain frequencies is eliminated even further. Helps a lot with female vocals they become much much more clear and balanced.

Fourth, pick up some fatmat/dynamat/damplifier pro, etc. and coat the inside of the cup with it. TALK ABOUT ACCURACY.

4 stars for out of the box performance for the price

5 stars for modded performance. They compete with $700-$800 cans when modded right.

As a professional audio engineer who does both studio recording and live sound reinforcement as well as an audiophile, a great pair of headphones is one of my most important pieces of gear. They must be accurate, reasonably comfortable, have excellent high and low frequency response, block out a reasonable amount of outside noise, and must have the ability to play loud enough without distortion so I can hear what I'm listening to on them over the sound of a live band. They must also have the transparent, detailed sound I require for critical listening as an audiophile.

I've used and auditioned many pairs of cans over the years and have always come back to the Fostex T20RP mkII (and the original T20RP before these). There's a great reason these are one of the most commonly used pairs of headphones you'll find in almost any commercial recording studio. I've simply never found another set at any price that I liked more than these. I've even compared them to headphones costing $500 and up and saw no reason to pay that kind of money when these incredible cans can be had for this ridiculous price.

Some people may find them a bit on the warm side, but personally I find most headphones, including the very popular AKG k240 (which I also own), to be a bit too bright, edgy, and fatiguing for me. I've tweaked mixes on these then listened on my reference monitors and found them to be quite accurate. And, I've never managed to get them to distort at any volume. Though I don't usually listen loud unless I have to in a live mixing situation, these are always ready when I need to.

They are not perfect so I'll list the cons. First, they're big, as you can see in the picture, so don't buy them if you're looking for something you can stuff in a pocket. I also have to mention that while they're fine most of the time, they're not the most comfortable headphones I've ever tried, and if I wear them for an extended period of time (such as when recording vocals), they start to hurt because they do press on the ears a bit. The earpieces are padded but they do sit partially on the ears, unlike the AKGs which have a nice big round padded earpiece that sits around the ears and is very comfortable. Still, I'll put up with it to get this kind of quality.

They have another flaw, which is they're not built to withstand abuse. The biggest weakness is the part that holds the individual earpieces to the metal frame, which will break if you twist it, leaving the can to spin around on the frame and can lead to the wires getting pulled out. This has been a flaw with this design since they first came out some 25+ years ago (yes, they've been in use that long with very minimal changes) and I've had to replace those parts several times, but the latest design does seem to be a bit more robust than the older ones. This is why I never let anyone use my headphones unless I know I can trust them to be very gentle. Every pair I've ever seen in a recording studio had that part broken on both sides so you had to be careful with them.

If you need serious headphones and these problems don't bother you, don't even think about it, quit shopping and just buy these. The price is incredible and you truly will not believe how amazing they sound.

Let me start off by saying I am no expert audiophile. But, I have been on the quest for the perfect headphones for about a year now. I am listening to a set of these right now, and am pretty confident that my search is over.

Stock, these headphones are not that great. But, $30 to $35 in materials and a few hours will turn them into audio bliss.

Check out this thread over at headfi.org:

It will tell you everything you need to know. The huge thread can be a little daunting, but I can assure you anyone can mod these headphones; it is not a complicated process. If you don't like amazon's price, head over to b & h photo and pick them up for $75; you won't be sorry.

After about 10 hours listening to the Fostex T50RP headphones, I can say that they are my favorites at this time. The only real negative is that these headphones seem quite honest. If the music is lacking real bass (despite what other speakers or headphones display), it will be very apparent. If the music has bass, these headphones will show that quite well also! Compared to the other headphones I own (several Senns as well as the much adored on Amazon Audio Technicia ATH-M50), all the sound is cleaner and more honest to the recording but the highs are what stands out the most when comparing directly from one set of 'phones to another the T50RP has beautiful highs that make the others sound muffled to varying degrees.

Eventually, I would like to get a pair of Grado's to see how they compare but that day will be a while away thanks to the excellent sound and unbelievable low price of these.

Rarely review products but here goes. Given my respect for Cardas, really waited to get this product. Bought one of the first from Headroom as soon as it went on sale. Have it for around 4 weeks.

Very different from my Westone 4s. This is dark sounding IEM, which can sound good or bad depending on the source. Tried it with the different tips both the white and blue included with the Ear Speaker as well as Comply T-500 foam tips. Heavy cable for an IEM which is a bit microphonic but not an issue for me. White silicone tips sounded best to me, while the blue tips gave a more balanced sound. The Comply just boosted bass too much that it masked the treble detail. Silicone tips did not give me the isolation when on a noisy street and subway. I usually use Comply foam isolation tips for that, surprised how congested it made the Cardas sound. The Cardas uses a single dynamic driver vs the Westone which uses multiple BA drivers.

Burnt in the Ear Speakers for about two weeks running them 10 to 15 hours per day from my iPod. The Cardas sounded good though my iPhone 4S without an amp.

For home listening with an amp the Cardas sounds great with reservations. Using it with a NuForce ICON DAC amp sounds nice and full. Less luck with a Leckerton UHA-6S which sounds fantastic with my Westones but unfortunately not with the Cardas. As stated the Cardas sonic signature features the bass which while not flat is satisfying and big.

Rock tracks like have a nice full low end at the expense of some high end detail and transients. Classic rock like Aerosmith and AC/DC sound like you are in a big concert venue minus the actual physical thump of the bass hitting you. Newer stuff like Chicken Foot and Red Hot Chili Peppers have a nice fullness again but lacked transient detail.

Jazz both electric and acoustic also have a nice balance with a sound that I can only describe as smokey. Vocal jazz had again a nice roundness to the overall presentation.

Bright country recordings also sound good through these IEMs. Also good with R&B and Hip Hop, especially for bass lovers. Classical both large and small ensembles had the distance that felt again like you were in a concert hall, which I think is the best way I can describe the sensation I get while listening on these phones.

Why only four stars? The Cardas did not wow me as the best universal IEMs I have tried like the Tralucent 1+2 or FitEar 334 which have the low end, plus the clarity and the detail. But then these come in at 3x the price. Could have been the phones I have are defective, but I felt there was a lack of detail in my EM5813s, though I was impressed with their bass response.

Compared to the Westones which are in the same price range, it is a toss up depending on mood. The Cardas is one of the few IEMs that nicely play back low TR808 kick samples (like the opening on Qunicy Jones' "Moody's in the Mood" from the Q's Juke Joint CD) or the fat bass growl on a reggae dub track. The Westones while more balanced and detailed, don't have this warmth (or mud depending on your taste).

Hope this review helps. Just my opinion others may be different.

Very nicely designed product. Performs as expected. Has sufficient volume for practicing, but you would probably need a somewhat larger amplifier for playing in a band situation.

Buy Simmons DA50 Electronic Drum Set Monitor Now

Great electronic drum amp. If you're looking at amps with more power you should probably reconsider (unless you're getting ready to do big gigs). This 50 watt amp will break your windows if you crank it up. I have to play it at low volume settings to prevent damaging things (windows, ears, etc. :-). And it's heavy-duty big dials, good weight, big bass cone.

My only nit is that it seems to have some limits on amplifying high frequencies (which in an analog drum kit are not as prevalent and would be mic'd differently) in electronic drum kits those can be significant lots of kits, lots of "non traditional" sounds like chimes and bells and cosmic sounds. To get the balance that sounds level to me seems to require setting the treble dial at max.

Prior to buying this amp, I used "guitar" amps for drums some really good ones like Line 6 but for the money and size I would not trade this amp for any other I've used when it comes to electronic drums.

It works great as a headphone only amp and as well when the line out is fed to an amplifier. With an input plug adapter you can use the PG-2 to drive a speaker by itself running the speaker or cab into the unit's headphone jack. I tested mine on a 2x12 cab from the early 70s and it sounded great. There was some odd breakup with my cab set to 4 Ohms. I changed it to 16 Ohms and everything was smooth as silk.

The little instruction sheet says to not use a dc adapter with an output greater than 5v dc. So I did. And fried that PG-2. You should be more careful.

This mixer works beautifully, is very solid in construction, and marked and labelled well enough for people with vision problems to easily hook it up. But it is NOT A STEREO MIXER. You may have to read the description closely to realize this because it's misleading. You don't want to hook a modern VCR or CD to these inputs unless you're not interested in stereo.

The inputs and outputs have dual RCA jacks, one marked red, the other white, just like a stereo mixer. But the jacks are simply connected in parallel and you really have only four mono channels in, and one mono channel out.

I originally got it to mix my Tivo, DVD player, and TV audio inputs for output to my stereo receiver. It mixed them all just fine, I was able to adjust for equal levels, and was surprised at the added amplification. Also, the clarity was good, and I was pleased at first. But then I noticed that I had no surround sound, no stereo, and only my center speaker was working.

Now I have a very solid, portable, high quality MONO mixer that I have no use for. Even my PC uses stereo microphones and inputs. If you want a mono mixer, I highly recommend this one, but if you want stereo, look for it's brother, the ART Powermix III.

I use this while making interview training videos on an iPad. I plug two mics into mixer and, using an inexpensive cable, plug the output into the mic/earphone port of the iPad. Cranked to about only one third, the audio is excellent for human speaking voices. I am using inexpensive wireless microphones. I am sure better mics would yield even better results, but what I am getting is adequate for my purposes.

Works great. I actually put it in my truck and wired my Uniden BCD996XT police scanner, Icom ID-880H D-Star ham radio, iPhone 5 and Yaesu FT 857 HF radio into this unit. I can use the headphone jack if needed so the wife doesn't nag, but essentially, I have all the radios going to this one mixer with the appropriate levels set. So now, I just control the mixing of the outputs and have one go to spot for everything. Works great for my use.

This has got to be one of the best buys I've made in a long time. I only wish I would have thought about getting one sooner.

I am using it with my computers. I have four computers that I have connected to the same audio system. Now, I don't have to disconnect/reconnect cables depending on what computer I am using at the time. They all go through the mixer and all I might need to do is adjust their (individual) volume every once in a while.

The unit is small, and fits neatly on my desk. This mixer IS unbalanced, so be sure to not run really long cables that will introduce line noise.

Overall, this is a great mixer at a really good price ($45).

P.S. I am thinking of buying another.

I bought a specially Priced Package that like this, which SHOULD HAVE INCLUDED PreSonus FireStudio Audio Interface as packaged by PreSonus, PLUS:

(1) Samson SR850 C01 Microphone / Headphone Combo

(1) Ultimate Support Fixed Boom, (1) Samson PS01 Microphone Pop Filter

(1) 20' XLR Cable

Sonic Sense One-Year Extended Warranty Adds One Year to Manufacturer's Warranty.

I bought it from Amazon Marketplace on 8/23 for $259 plus shipping, order to be fulfilled by Price Pros. I received the shipment on 9/5, but none of the PLUS items were included in the package.

After talking to Price Pros, they said that Amazon sometimes packages products together erroneously, and that this item was priced wrong. The Price Pros customer rep said they did not have the items to fulfill the order, and that they would accept the Presonus Audio Interface to be returned to them, or that they would refund me 10% of the price. I like the Presonus box, nothing wrong with it, so I'm keeping it, but this is a HUGE issue.

What is advertised on the website should be delivered to the customer who bought the item. If the error is on Amazon's or the supplier's side, they should get on an agreement about who foots the bill and favor the customer who did nothing but believe on a company's reputation.

Too late for me, but if you want to buy this specially priced package, make sure you get what you pay for!!

I really liked the Yamano Roll-Up Digital Piano for use with children. The keys respond to light touch and can be played on carpet, although it does take some getting used to. Also, the instrument has several rhythms and tones, which are appealing to kids. My only complaint with this instrument is the price. I paid $99 for it, and now it is selling for $109 on Amazon. I found similar prices at other sites. I needed 5 roll-up keyboards to teach a children's music class, but I was not willing to spend $500. The Yamano roll up keyboard that sells for $70 is an older model. I have not tried it, so I can't vouch that it is as good an instrument as the newer one that sells for $100. I also tried the roll up piano from Beijing Imports, which is the same size as the Yamano with similar features for almost half the price. However, I do not recommend the one from Beijing Imports, as 98% of the keys are non-responsive to first touch, even on a hard surface. If you have a hundred bucks to spend, go with the Yamano. If you're on a tight budget, go with the cheaper, "Roll a Piano As Seen on TV" for $27.50. It's not a great instrument, but the keys do respond and it will have to do for the keyboard class.

A fun alternative to a real keboard, just roll it up and throw it in the suitcase. No key action, so it takes a bit of practice to get used to the keys. Built in speakers OK, but sounds great hooked up to an amp with speakers. Lots of voices, only complaint is you have to go thru the list to get the one you want. Has rythms built in also, and a sustain key.

Received piano in good condition and timely from amazon. But having problems with piano. The right hand plays fine. But when playing the left hand, the volume is so low you cannot hear it. Do not see anyway to adjust for this. Perhaps the wiring is not good on the left hand side and we got a bum unit. Also, there's no way to do an exchange thru amazon. Amazon is willing to do a refund and the price on the unit has gone up.

I bought this product hoping it was higher quality than it was. You can NOT play chords on it. The separate notes of a chord just jump back and forth, it won't play them (or any two notes) at the same time. It sounds tinny and toyish even with the extra speakers, I plugged it into speakers and it sounded loud, tinny, and toyish. For the price I expected a lot more and felt taken by this item. I owned a cheaper model once, so if you'd like to get a roll up piano, do yourself a favor and buy the cheaper models because they act and sound exactly the same as this one.

OK, I was skeptical about ordering this one because of the great price. (probably because it's for the Hercules rmx controller) I've been using my Hercules RMX for sometime now, and felt it needed a flight case to make it stand out and look professional. Well, Odyssey has killed the market with their new Odyssey LED flight cases. It turned my toy Hercules rmx into a professional controller that can compete with the big boys. I love it! You have many functions with the LED's including strobe effect, fade effect, color theme (solid color), or have it change color with the beat of the music. I don't want to give high expectations that my little controller is superior to the competition. I have to admit though, if you have this flight case and doing a gig, your audience will not care because they will be too busy dancing and seeing a great light show. Awesome!

Basic Instructions for MyZone Headset

I have trouble hearing some of the words from the TV, especially if they are whispered or very quiet. My wife bought this unit for me to hear better without turning up the volume.

My experience with this headphone set was similar to many of yours. I was able to get it working only after reading the instructions and all these comments here where two people actually gave useful information. I've had it a few weeks now and have experimented with it and feel confident that I'm able to give step-by-step instructions that may help you get started enjoying this unit. First a few notes:

Note 1 This is nothing like a cell phone, iPod, or tablet so experience with those won't help you here. You will need to follow a different path to make it work.

Note 2 There will be some trial-and-error to finally have success.

Note 3 This unit has a built-in attenuator circuit so when it scans around the room and finds a strong signal it will attenuate (turn off) all other signals and give you just the one.

Note 4 This is an electronic device that relies on a direct line-of-site beam between the units. Don't let anything be placed between them. I have noticed that when I hold up my Android tablet near my face it interferes with the signal, giving me static. A remote or a cell phone might do the same.

Step by step instructions:

1. Open the box and remove all the items, making sure you have them all.

2. You will need to find fresh batteries for both units, 2 AA cells for the transmitter stand, and 2 AAA for the headset. Be sure you orient them as shown.

3. Plug the transmitter into the TV or cable box. This requires some thought on your part. You can plug it into the output sockets on the back of the cable box (if you use one) and this will bring you good sound from all broadcast programming. But since it bypasses any DVD drive, VCR, or external hard drive plugged into the TV you won't hear anything from them. It is best to plug it into the TV as you will get it all.

4. With it plugged in, turn on both the transmitter stand, with the red switch, and the wheel on the headphones. Both will produce a tiny red light that lets you know each is ON. Point the transmitter at your chair and not too close to the TV. I found it works very good with an extension cable and placing the transmitter on a table near to me.

5. Look at the headphones closely. You will see on one side three controls. The top one, as mentioned, is the ON/OFF switch and volume control. The next one down is marked "Scan" and the bottom one is the Reset button.

6. Now turn on the TV and set the volume low. With the transmitter stand turned on, turn on the headphones and roll the wheel about half-way on its path. This is so you won't blast out your ears when a signal is found.

7. Place the transmitter in front of you facing your chair. You can be back ten feet or more and it will work very good.

8. Now put the headphones on your head. You can either place it so the controls are on the left ear, facing forward, or on the right facing back. I have experimented with it both ways and found no difference. It mostly matters if you are left of right handed. You will use the controls on the left with the fingers and on the right with your thumb.

9. When it is turned on you will hear sound but it may not be anything interesting. The sound may be a local radio station or just static or both. You may even hear your TV behind some of this.

10. Now you will need to press/click the bottom Reset button. It was tested at the factory to be sure it worked there but it is not set for your room. This will reset the circuitry to zero and you can then begin to start the scanning.

11. Press/click the Scan button once and listen. Be patient! It will take 2-3 seconds to bring in the signal. It will likely not be your TV signal but a local radio station or just static. It has picked up any signal it finds as it scans, much like your car radio. Now press it again. This may take several tries to get it right, this is the trial-and-error part I mentioned above. If it is not right yet, press it again.

12. You should finally hear ONLY the TV signal and nothing else. Now you can adjust the volume to suit.

This MyZone headphones set has been a great help to me as I can now hear everything said, even with the TV turned low or even on mute. I control it with the volume wheel.

[After nearly nine months of use I decided to add to my own review]

Another reviewer pointed out that note 4, at the top, is wrong, and he is right! I have learned that if I need to leave the room during the program or movie that I can hear it the same as if I were there. Sometimes I need to click the Scan button to keep it going and then maybe click it again when I return to my chair. My only complaint now is that the on/off switch on the stand is hard to switch with one hand. It is recessed a little too far and I can't get it to move. Two hands works fine. Maybe I'll disassemble it and see if I can move it out a little. Or I can put a drop of glue on it to make a small bump. Anyone else have this problem?

Nearly a year later It finally broke! Well not the functioning of the device but the little door to the battery holder in the stand broke off the latch so it won't stay closed. I could be made stronger by the manufacturer. So I will try to find a small flange-head bolt and nut that will keep it closed. I've been using it with tape but it hasn't worked. I'll keep you posted when I get it fixed. It's too good of a product, at least for me, to stop using it.

I read the reviews before purchasing, and most helpful is when I got the headphones that I plugged the Transmitter cord plugs To My CABLE BOX (not TV). I wouldn't have known to do that without reading the tips in other's reviews. Also make sure to plug into "Audio OUT" plugs. Get solid good sound while sitting in my living room (8-10 feet from TV). Love that alone (no wires between headset and TV). It advertised up to 100 ft range. When I walk into my kitchen (less than 30 ft) or bedroom (less than 38 feet) I started to get static reception, though I could still hear what was going on. For the price though, you can't beat it.

Good grief people, if you don't set it up correctly, it's not going to work properly. I can tell by what I'm reading that that is the case with many of the poor reviews, if not all. As someone who has tried a number of wireless headphones, these are both the best and the cheapest. Yes, My Zone should have better instructions vis a vis plugging the audio jacks into the CABLE BOX instead of the TV. They do, however, tell you to hit 'Reset' and then "Scan". When you have the transmitter on, it will scan to your TV. If it's slightly unclear, hit "Scan" again. If you turn the transmitter off, you get radio! That was a very pleasant surprise to me. And the range is very good. My house is small, 900 ft. sq, but I can hear my TV in every room. If I need to get a drink while a game's on, I don't miss any of the audio. As a long time user of TV Ears (and will NEVER buy them again), these are fantastic by comparison. I cannot vouch for their longevity yet, but at $20 I will be impressed with 6 months.

Let me start by saying I had the same problems many other people had before I finally got these working. When I first got them I installed the batteries, of course, & the transmitter wouldn't turn on. I took the batteries out, put them back in, tried again, still got nothing. So I tried a third time, and a fourth, and finally I got the transmitter to switch on. I plugged it into the TV, turned on the headphones & took a listen. I was surprised to find every FM station in my area when I hit the scan button repeatedly, and when I hit reset I heard the TV audio, but it was not very clear, & anywhere beyond about 2 feet from the transmitter, I got a smattering of interference from who knows where.

Naturally, I was not pleased, to say the least. I took the set downstairs & got slightly better results (no interference & a range of about 10 feet), but I was convinced I had just made a terrible purchase & resolved to send this product back the next day. I immediately decided to write a nasty review but before I did, I read some that others had written, and decided to give the headphones another try. I'm not saying this will work for you, but HERE'S WHAT I DID, AND IT WORKED:

I turned on the transmitter, turned on the headset, pressed reset and got the usual (terrible) signal from the receiver, then hit the scan button & after passing just ONE local FM station, I found the CRYSTAL CLEAR audio from the TV. I then proceeded to walk 50 feet to the other end of the house, down the stairs & all around the basement, and never lost the signal.

I can't verify the "100 feet" claim, but I can say that it works from one floor to the next and across at least 50 feet with lots of walls and other obstructions between the transmitter & headset. I am completely happy with them now and just waiting to see how long the batteries hold up. For the frustration & lack of clear instructions I can't give it 5 stars, but this product is wonderful once you figure it out.

I purchased Myzone headphones at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $9.99 closeout. I wear hearing aids but am able to use the wireless headphones without them. I think for $9.99 or even $19.99 the headphones are a good deal. I do have to say they take some getting used to. I have Dishnetwork satellite service. I plugged the transmitter into the audio out jacks on the Dishnetwork receiver, not my TV set. The next thing I discovered was the the wireless headphones will lock onto two or three signals from the transmitter when you do the scan. Make sure it is locked into the strongest signal, otherwise the audio will have a hissing sound in it. This has to be done everytime you turn the headphones on. I like the headphones and am going to buy a second pair.

An update to my review early this year. I have discovered the headphones operate on a frequency of 88.3 FM. I can receive the signal about 200ft away on my car radio and my portable FM receiver. I can receive the signal on the haedphones almost 100 ft away. I now own 3 sets of the My Zone headphones. I would suggest that you purchase an AC adapter for the base unit. Go to eBay and search on something like "universal AC adapter". Usually dealers will have these brand mew in the box for $8 to $10 with free shipping. Get the 500ma unit which can be set or any voltage from 3 to 12 volts with 6 or 7 plugs. Set the unit for 4.5volts center positive and plug the mating plug into the base unit. I have been using the My Zone headphones for almost a year and I love them. On both TVs I have in the house and one for a spare.
