I really liked the Yamano Roll-Up Digital Piano for use with children. The keys respond to light touch and can be played on carpet, although it does take some getting used to. Also, the instrument has several rhythms and tones, which are appealing to kids. My only complaint with this instrument is the price. I paid $99 for it, and now it is selling for $109 on Amazon. I found similar prices at other sites. I needed 5 roll-up keyboards to teach a children's music class, but I was not willing to spend $500. The Yamano roll up keyboard that sells for $70 is an older model. I have not tried it, so I can't vouch that it is as good an instrument as the newer one that sells for $100. I also tried the roll up piano from Beijing Imports, which is the same size as the Yamano with similar features for almost half the price. However, I do not recommend the one from Beijing Imports, as 98% of the keys are non-responsive to first touch, even on a hard surface. If you have a hundred bucks to spend, go with the Yamano. If you're on a tight budget, go with the cheaper, "Roll a Piano As Seen on TV" for $27.50. It's not a great instrument, but the keys do respond and it will have to do for the keyboard class.

A fun alternative to a real keboard, just roll it up and throw it in the suitcase. No key action, so it takes a bit of practice to get used to the keys. Built in speakers OK, but sounds great hooked up to an amp with speakers. Lots of voices, only complaint is you have to go thru the list to get the one you want. Has rythms built in also, and a sustain key.

Received piano in good condition and timely from amazon. But having problems with piano. The right hand plays fine. But when playing the left hand, the volume is so low you cannot hear it. Do not see anyway to adjust for this. Perhaps the wiring is not good on the left hand side and we got a bum unit. Also, there's no way to do an exchange thru amazon. Amazon is willing to do a refund and the price on the unit has gone up.

I bought this product hoping it was higher quality than it was. You can NOT play chords on it. The separate notes of a chord just jump back and forth, it won't play them (or any two notes) at the same time. It sounds tinny and toyish even with the extra speakers, I plugged it into speakers and it sounded loud, tinny, and toyish. For the price I expected a lot more and felt taken by this item. I owned a cheaper model once, so if you'd like to get a roll up piano, do yourself a favor and buy the cheaper models because they act and sound exactly the same as this one.

It would have been a nice idea to practice while traveling, but does not really work and it does not stay flat.
