Buy the original Rockman SR&D on ebay. Dunlop owns the products now and it is not the same thing as it was in the day. I own the X100, Ultralight, Soloist and Bass Rockman. They all sound amazing.

Having used the original years ago I was disappointed by the quality (lite plastic housing, hard to open battery bay and terrible hissing even at low levels). I wish I had checked the reviews more carefully before ordering.

I bought a Dunlop Rockman Guitar Ace to complement my old SR&D Guitar Ace. The only significant physical changes are the Dunlop sticker on the back and the choice of input jack hardware on the control panel. The Dunlop Rockman lacks the SR&D logo on the front of the body.

To me, the SR&D and Dunlop products sound alike, in clean and distorted modes. It appears that Dunlop has succeeded in continuing the tradition that Tom Scholz started. The settings are limited, but I think the Guitar Ace still has a great sound when used with decent headphones.

It would be nice to see Dunlop re-release some of the more sophisticated Rockman products, such as the X100 or the Soloist.

What can I say, these are amazing headphones. The sound quality is incredible and they are so easy to set up and use. They are super lightweight and I hardly even know I'm wearing them. I also really liked the price...they are a great value. Highly recommend!

These headphones are great for the price. Has a 32 ft radius leaving tons of room to walk around. The battery lasts for about 10 full cds and use a rechargeable led battery to power them. The usb charger is a little slow but convenient.

Sound qualityis great! No static, sound comes in clear with good base.

Bulkythese headphones weigh 1 pound. While it's not heavy enough to create any neck problems or cramps, it is heavy enough to be uncomfortable. While not huge the headphones are noticeable and you can definitely tell your wearing them.

RecommendedFor the price these headphones are amazing. I doubt you can find a better pair of wireless hd headphones for below $40. I recommend these headphones to anyone who wants cheap good quality mobile headphones.

I wanted a very sturdy high-quality cable, and this is perfect. Don't buy this if you want a thin, light, flexible cable. It's thicker and heavier than a standard light-duty AC cord in the USA. A joy if that's what you want.

After years of frustration with other headphone extension cords I took a chance on this model. I am somewhat of an audio snob and really like to hear the nuances in music. I don't notice any degradation in quality. It is VERY durable. I have stepped on it, got it caught inside the underside of my chair, etc. Cord is still working fine. I also like the fact that it isn't coiled. You get the full length right away. Quite a good value at this price.

REVIEW:

These tips worked better for me than any of the other style tips I've tried. But don't be fooled by reviews; ALL EARS ARE DIFFERENT!!! Try them all and use what works for you. If this style works best, USE IT!

As a triple flange tip goes this tip has pros and cons.

Pros: The stem on this tip is longer than most tips which gives you the ability to push it deeper into the ear canal if you need to. Also, the stem opening is smaller than most so it fits much tighter on the earphone's stem making it less likely to come off the earphone and stay lodged in your ear when you try to take them out of your ears.

Cons: Being a stiffer rubber than some of the other tips, it tends to have more of a 'memory' and starts to retain the shape of the ear canal fairly quickly. Over time, this memory prevents the tip from 'spreading out' and it therefore loses the sealing ability that it had.

FIX: I decided to try something after each use and I have gotten spectacular results. After each use (used for in-ear monitors during rehearsals and shows), I wash them and then flip the large and middle flange up and leave it until the next use. This resets the memory they tend to develop and even spreads the flange out a little more. I get an even better seal after using this method than I did on the brand new pair! They are lasting a long time now--four months and still sealing tight!

I recently purchased a pair of Shure SE215's. They have an awesome sound but I could not get a proper seal

with the included buds. I even tried the Comply buds, but even they would not seal properly for me. My Shures did not include these sleeves so I thought I'd buy a set to give them a try. I thought they were a bust at first, extremely uncomfortable. I tried clipping the top flange off and this made them perfect. The seal never breaks and I can lay on my side in comfort while in bed. I also get the best sound isolation with these sleeves. All in all I am a happy camper.

There are significant differences between these and the original triple flange sleeves that come with some Shure's(my E5c pair came with some). It seems like these are made of white rubber rather than the original opaque silicone pair. This has the effect of them being much more rigid and less conforming to the ear canal than before. Also, the flanges themselves are much smaller than the originals. The middle flange on these is approximately the same size as the smallest flange on the older pairs, which in my case, causes the new ones to be unable to create a good seal whatsoever. Even if it did it would still fall out much easier than the original triple flange sleeves, and one of the best features of the flange design in general is that they should stay put fairly well. Perhaps these would be good for people who like their triple flange sleeves but always thought they were too big or too soft. Or perhaps my ear canals are unusual in that they don't allow a good seal (although the originals sealed well). Either way, do not an exact replacement of the sleeves that came with your phonesthese are completely different and should not be marketed as replacements.

Want EATFL1-6 Triple Flange Sleeves for SE model earphones (except SE102MPA), SCL3, SCL4, SCL5, E3c, E4c Discount?

For years I accepted a less than stellar bass performance from earphones when compared with over-ear headphones. On a whim, I purchased a set of Shure SE425 which featured a number of different ear sleeves. Going with the standard silicone sleeves, I was dismayed to realise that the sound quality of the earphones to be not that much better than the cheap earphones that I had picked up to replace the white earbuds that were bundled with my iPod.

Fast forward a couple of weeks and just out of curiousity, I swapped out the silicone sleeves and replaced them with the triple flange sleeves and I noticed an immediate improvement. Better bass response and almost complete noise isolation gave a much better soundstage. Now I have swapped out the sleeves of all my earphones and use the triple flanged sleeves exclusively (provided they fit).

Highly recommended.

The triple flange sleeves for the Shure SE earphones are, in my opinion, the way to go for earbuds/phones. The design of the flange works exactly as intended (well, as how I assume it's intended): different size ears are no longer an issue (barring either enormous ears or tiny ears) b/c of the "tiered" cushioning; have bigger ears than "average"? No big deal, the earphones just go in further; have smaller ears than "average"? No problem, the earphones just don't go in as far. Very comfortable, and that really allows a greater level of enjoyment due to the fact that that comfort is being combined w/ great sound quality. Definitely worth the money.

In August 2006 I purchased this small audio interface (1.10" x 6.10" x 4.53") to connect my notebook with my mixer.

Until today I am very satisfied with the device. Being a user of Apple's LOGIC I found no trouble in setting the interface up. No installation of any software was necessary (the same applies for Garage Band). In Mac OS X it allows you an easy configuration via the audio application.

Attention PC users: Windows requires you to install drivers before you connect the unit to the computer. Unless an ASIO driver is used, the set-up might be tricky, too.

Additionally everybody should consider the following system requirements:

PC

Intel or AMD CPU, 1 GHz or higher

min. 512 MB RAM

6-pin or 4-pin FireWire interface

Windows XP SP2

MAC

G4/G5 or Intel Core Duo, 800 MHz or higher

min. 512 MB RAM

6-pin or 4-pin FireWire interface

MAC OS X 10.3.9 (Panther) or higher

The connection via FireWire works flawlessly and supplies the interface with power, too. Therefore the included external power adaptor has not seen much use so far.

From my point of view this interface serves any home-recording musician (especially if you use a Mac) and the artist on stage who wants to hook up his notebook to other devices. Needless to say, it is not suited for more complex tasks or even studio use due to its limited inputs and outputs. But this is not the purpose of it anyway, which allows me to recommend it for the mentioned tasks.

Buy Behringer FCA202 Now

I use this product with a PowerMac G5, OS 10.5.8. This is a compact, solidly built product, but it isn't self contained. While it supports Mac Core Audio, it doesn't provide input or output level control from Sound Preferences, Audio/Midi Setup, or any other sound app (like Audacity or Vinyl Studio). To digitally record live music, LPs or tapes, you will need a good preamp with level control, such as a mixer. Also, you will need a way to vary the output, unless you are using the included headphone amp. Muting from the Mac doesn't work either. This isn't a big problem, it's just inconvenient... It limits the usefulness of my Griffin Powerwave for audio editing.

I recommend using the wall wart power supply... after about an hour, the firewire port I was using stopped working, and I haven't been able to get it back... possibility because it was drawing too much current from the FW400 port and damaged something. I switched to a different FW port, plugged the wall wart into the FCA202, and haven't had a problem since.

This product is awesome. I have a new imac and I had latency issues going directly from the line in to the board. This gets rid of that issue right off the bat. Its well worth the money and if you have a sound board there is no need for anything else.

Want Behringer FCA202 Discount?

I purchase this FCA to play & record analog tracks from a Behringer PMP5000 using the following laptops running Window XP, SP3.

1. Gateway MX6453, Duo Core AMD Turion 64X2 Mobil CPU, 2 GB mem. Both ASIO drivers dated 2005 from the CD and 2008 from their web site produced horrific audio sound. Regardless of the sampling nor latency set up, it skips, stutters...

2. Dell M4400, Duo Core Intel, 4 GB mem. This is my main work horse for solidworks, CAE... however even with this mini cray CPU, the FCA hoggs 20-30% of the resource thus grinding the audio output to breaking point.

The reason I select the FCA supposedly for the very simplicity of input, output, Firewire's low latency. However I can't vouch for the driver software. I have 2 more laptops running Vista, but I am not enthusiastic about installing the same fail driver on any Vista machine.

It does not matter for the window audio drivers, the FCA uses ASIO (Audio Streaming Input/Output) driver to utilize low overhead data between the source (FCA) to the sound card hardware by passing the CPU. I don't give in so easily, however after a month of tinkering the FCA is my favorite paper weight on top of my music scores. Maybe after I overcome the drivers hic up, I can come back and write another after thought.

(This is a review for FCA202 F-Control Audio 2 Input / 2 Output 24-Bit/96kHz FireWire Audio Interface by Behringer)

I like the fact that Behringer did not put a gain and volume control on the unit.

There is no pots used between input/output to AD/DA converter means the audio signal in the unit won't be compromised by pots. (There is only one pot used for headphone out, but it is OK, since it is an extra output.)

I had a USB interface with gain and volume control, but after a few years of light use, the pots on board gave up on me. The audio interface became useless, just because the pots worn out (since the unit was very small, replacing pot was very difficult task.)

So, less moving parts means more reliable product.

You'll need to be able to adjust I/O level (external mixer before FCA202), but it is not a problem for me, in fact, I prefer that way.

This works fantastically on my Mac Mini.

Mic Preamps: clear and transparent, both with condensers and dynamics. Max gain is around 60dB. With input volume knob turned 90%, you can do noise-free whispers on an SM57, just to give you an idea of the gain range.

Hi-Z Instrument Input: gain starts at +13dB, causing clipping when direct-recording an electric guitar with passive high-output pickups. This is a design limitation on many audio interfaces. The solution is an active or passive DI box, or turning down the volume pot on your guitar.

Also, at first I thought the instrument input sounded dark and muffled on guitar and bass compared to my previous interface, but turned out the previous was really hyping the signal through treble boost and compression. So the Saffire is actually more honest and even in representing the input signal, meaning it works better with software-based guitar amp simulators, whereas the hyped interfaces result in a scratchier and thin sound. Post-EQ can take care of any perceived darkness both for direct guitar and direct bass, without degradation or artifacts.

Headphone Output: also relatively flat frequency response. My previous interface was hyping the trebles on the headphone out, making it sound harsh on certain headphones. Not the case with the Saffire. I tried both 32 ohm and 200 ohm headphones, and it drives both well. Not loud enough for DJ's in clubs, however. But more than loud enough for mixing and tracking purposes... any louder and you risk hearing damage.

Stability: on my Mac running Snow Leopard, haven't had a single glitch.

Software: I only installed the Mix Control panel. It lets you route audio in various ways, switches between line and instrument inputs, etc... It's very lightweight and loads fast. You'll have to read the manual to learn it fully, but once you do, you'll realize how powerful and useful it is.

Construction: similar to any rack console. It's a half-rack chassis, body is made of steel, front panel of plastic. Knobs are plastic, pots are smooth. Doesn't feel cheap or anything. LED lights are green, not blue (thankfully).

Sound: As I said, the mic pre's are clear and transparent. No muffled, sterile, hissy, cold, grainy, etc... traits that afflict poorer interfaces. Vocals sound honest and direct. I recorded an acoustic guitar and likewise, it sounds recorded as it does in person. Tip: even if you record at 44.1 kHz, use 24 bit instead of 16 bit because it helps with dynamics and headroom and lowers the noise floor.

In conclusion, overall this interface does everything I need, and does it well. As I said, the only potential downside is clipping with electric guitar, which requires a DI box unless you roll down the volume pot. I'm running my guitar through a tube preamp though, and there's no clipping with that since the preamp output is more regulated than the wild fluctuations of a straight pickup.

What else... firewire beats USB, due to greater bus power available. The Saffire comes with its own optional power supply, but I'm not using it, relying on firewire bus power instead. The Saffire is FW400 by the way, so you'll need a 400 to 800 adapter if your computer only has an 800 port. One gotcha is that, although it's not absolutely necessary, Focusrite advises against hotplugging or hot-unplugging. In other words, to be 100% safe you have to plug or unplug the box only when the computer is turned off. I've done it anyway without ill effect, but wince every time I do.

Anyway, this box is pretty affordable for what you get, and is worth the step up from cheaper interfaces that cut more corners. I won't be upgrading my interface for a very long time.

The Focusrite Saffire Pro 14 works great on my Mac Pro. At the time of writing, using Mac OS 10.6.7. Directly accessible from apps, or the Mac's standard I/O. You can also use the Saffire Pro's headphone jack for audio out.

I got poor quality input using the default settings in Bias Peak Pro. But perfect audio with the Adobe SoundBooth.

You can power with the included power adapter, or it will also power via firewire.

Input from from a dynamic mic worked fine, though I needed to set the gain near the max.

the only problem i encountered with the saffire 14 is that my msi motherboard built-in firewire (with an extension bracket at the back) was not putting out the proper i/o. windows 7 identified it and loaded the drivers yet the saffire won't lock in with the software. however, as soon as i added an independent firewire pci card (with NEC chipset), the saffire locked in immediately and from then on, no other problems were encountered. so, the real problem was with my mobo and not with the saffire. in addition, the latest control mix software v2.2 worked nicely with windows 7 as some people had problems i think with the earlier software version; while latency is good enough for me at 5ms it's just used in a personal home recording studio; not too many audio tracks to work on, anyway. i have read good reviews about focusrite's saffire line of firewire audio interfaces and believe me they are not wrong. since i'm already a novation fan (with my xio synth), i'm now a focusrite fan as well.

Want Focusrite Saffire Pro 14 8 In / 6 Out FireWire Audio Interface with 2 Focusrite Mic Preamps Discount?

I bought this breakout box to replace an aging M-Audio interface (1010 LT, I think it was). I wanted the external box so I could have easier access to inputs & outputs, and because I needed a shiny new toy. After comparing reviews and prices, this box seemed like the perfect option. High build quality, nice specs, separate monitor / headphone outputs, and a software mixer for different routing options.

Aside from some initial technical difficulty -buying a new firewire card, routing/recording issues, latency issues -I managed to get the product working just fine. However, I don't understand why I had such issues to begin with. Even my ancient M-Audio card worked perfectly without any modification on my part. Was it the firewire? Was it the useless mixer software that doesn't exactly route audio the way it's supposed to?

I had to contact Focusrite's tech support on a couple issues, and they were all but useless as well. The first issue I had with latency resulted in a canned message suggesting I check out a couple of videos. Thanks guys, I didn't know I had to plug the unit into the computer! My second issue was that my recording software (P-head Record) allowed me to do zero-latency monitoring, but outside the program I had a delayed signal in my left speaker. Their response? "I'm not sure what you mean by zero latency tracking." WHAT? The term "zero latency tracking" is supposed to be one of your features! It's in all the literature! And, big surprise, they attached a link to a tutorial video. Worthless.

BOTTOM LINE

If you are adept at self-troubleshooting and don't mind working out a few bugs, you will find a sweet spot and really enjoy this hardware. Frequency response is beautiful, the hardware is made with high quality materials, and Record works flawlessly with it. I did have some issues trying to record internally (ie, from one program to another), but that's not my primary use. Minus one star for lack of tech support and a frustrating mixer program (just set your latency and ignore all the other settings), but overall still a great buy.

I got the Focusrite Saffire 14 just days before my album release party, as my trusty (but feature-limited) Audiofire 2 started to have firmware issues with the update to core audio in OSX 10.8. I needed an interface that I could both record and perform with, and the Saffire 14 fit the bill perfectly. I was able to DJ and have a cue mix from Traktor, while having my MIDI keyboard trigger sounds from Reason through one set of outputs, and run my guitar through the front inputs, through Guitar Rig and out another set of outputs seamlessly. No latency, no distortion, no crashing.

I've never even heard of an interface this versatile, feature-laden and robust for such a low price. The Saffire Mix software makes any ridiculously complex routing dead simple, and the included Focusrite VST suite sounds great. The mic preamps on the two front inputs are beautifully clean, crisp and loud, too. Get this interface and make good-sounding music easily (provided you bring the talent).

I got this for 3 reasons: I'm restricted to how much weight I can lift, and this is light, for small venues, and for the RV when we travel (so I can pickup Open Night and Coffee House gigs when on the road). Not only is it light, and a space saver, it's equal in tone to my AG-50s. For expanded use, I bought an UltraDI Max so I can expand it to two channels, use a singing mic with it, and pull an output to a PA.

The AG-15 has 3 way tone controls (instead of the 2 way tone on other UltraSound amps), and it has a presence adjustment as well. The overall volume blew me away, and whereas most of the small amps in this category are very brittle sounding and thin (even more so as they get louder,) the tone is robust, warm and full. I only have cranked it up to 5 because I cannot stay in the room with it any hotter.

It has a headphone jack which kills the speaker when engaged, which means for output to a PA one needs a preamp going into the amp (guitar-->pre-amp-->amp/PA).

This one surprised me how good it is...I'd recommend it for practice, small venue use, and as a stage monitor with a group.

I use this amp with my K&K equipped acoustic guitar. The four tone controls (bass, midrange, treble, and 'presence' upper treble) give tremendous control over the sound. I run my passive K&K pickups without a preamp, as the Ultrasound amp's input impedance is a good match for the pickups. The AG15 has a very clean and natural sound. I purchased mine from Woodwind and Brasswind. The unit that arrived is actually the updated AG15M, which features an XLR direct out, a line out, and a second channel XLR input for a mic. This was a pleasant surprise! I am able to connect directly to my church's mixer through the amp, and I had expected to need a DI box for this task.

I ordered this kit as part of a university electronics class. The parts came quickly and were in nice condition. It was very easy to set up and solder everything together, very no-hassle. My only issue was that the ground point was a little small and difficult to solder everything onto if you went for some of the optional features.

Once completed, it packs a very nice punch for a 9 volt battery, and sounds pretty clean to boot. I haven't played with the adjustable tone pot, so I cannot speak much for that. The only thing I would change is that it did not come with screws to attach the battery mount to the housing. Other than that, a very easy DIY project with a lot of utility for the price.

The kit came with everything, that I needed to build the amp. The instruction were easy to follow. The hard part was, my rusty soldering skills. The guys at the local music store, said it great and sound good too. I plan to buy some more kits. It's great fun.

I needed these terribly for work to listen to music. Its perfect for keeping the wire from getting snagged while I'm moving around and keeping my headphones from being pulled repeatedly.
