Sounds 5/5

The sounds are very realistic, with the new sound engine they have put in place, when playing the piano sounds beside a real piano, the difference is almost impossible to notice, the tones and accompaniments are also very great.

Step up lessons 5/5

The lessons are great, they phase the music, and you take it in steps, and if its too fast for you, you can by the press of a button, slow it down to your speed, its user friendly.

Connections 5/5

The USB MIDI function just works effortlessy, works with keyboard learning software, Finale 2009, and much more, when I opened Finale with the MIDI connected, it just started interpreting what I was playing without have to configure anything in the software.

Look & Layout 5/5

It looks great, although 61 keys, very convenient, its very light, u can easily carry the stand and the keyboard around without much effort, the layout is very user friendly and its easy to navigate, and the user manual tells you how to perform tasks in detail not readily seen. The Key-lighting function is really cool and very helpful in the step up lessons, only 10 can light at a time, but its also very cool for night playing as well.

Overall 5/5

Its a great keyboard, I'd recommend it for anyone, dont spend so much on a keyboard just yet, this is the one you must get, if 61-keys is all you need, otherwise, feel free to check out the 88-keys keyboards.

This is a *fantastic* learning keyboard from Casio. But I would order it *without* the accessories by itself if possible.

The keyboard stand had a horrible paint chemical smell which took over a month to dissipate, and the headphones and mic couldn't be made any more cheaply. The full-size to mini stereo adapter is so out of spec it is almost non-functional. If I had it to do over again, I would order the bare keyboard and then search Amazon for well-reviewed accessories and buy them a la carte rather than as part of this bundle.

I bought this for my 8 year old boy and he love it. The sound is OK but not good as I expected. I had before a WK from Casio and that sounds much better than this one. I just bought this model because of the SD function. But the SD need a separate format for playback. (Hard to find how to do it.) Also there was no microphone included. The stand and headphones are good and the lighted keys are good for a beginner like my 8 year old. Totally this is good buy for the price.

Although the piano patch is very nice, PLAYING this unit is not easy or enjoyable.

The keys are REALLY stiff.

It takes great effort to strike any one note and it's even more difficult to strike chords and handle runs.

It's as if the keys have thick rubber or sponges under them.

When striking a key, there is more resistance as it is going down and no spring on the way up.

If you're looking for a keyboard for your kid to learn on, forget this one. Fingers will fatigue in minutes after fighting with these keys. Your kid will just get discouraged.

Good keys should have a little bounce to them and should react easily to a quick striking.

Alos, the plastic music stand rattles when trying to play the board. So much effort goes into getting any sound out of this unit that it bounces about and rattles like a cheap plastic toy.

UPDATE TO REVIEW:

As an alternative I tested and purchased the Yamaha EZ-200 61 Full-Sized Touch Sensitive Lighted Keyboard for my kid. LIGHT YEARS BETTER. The keys are not stiff and spring back the way they should. The sounds are great, especially the main patch; the Grand Piano. The lighted keyboard feature had my kid interested and learning right out of the box. If you're in the market for a lighted keyboard for your kid, based on my experience, go with the Yamaha instead of the Casio. Amazon had it priced right and bundled with what you need.

This was a great package deal. We had a bit of a problem with the stand (factor error I'm sure, one of the screws was in so hard and totally stripped, we were unable to get it out without a drill) however Amazon was very accommodating and we are overall very pleased. The Keyboard works great and has LOTS of functions.

I got these after researching Ultrasone's HFI series and seeing some comments about how the ear pads could afford to be more comfortable. Also, because the stock pads are pleather, they can cause sweating after a period of use. So I picked up a pair of these as insurance when i bought my 580's. I couldn't have been happier with my decision.

When i first got my headphones, I didn't find them to be THAT uncomfortable. However, after slipping on these ear pads i realized just how inferior the stocks ones are. Won't cause you to sweat, super soft on your head, and still maintains great sound. Some may say that the velour causes some minor dampening to the bass, but it is just that, minor. It actually feels like the bass is even more controlled now.

Lastly, the only think that people might find is that if you have larger ears and wear earings, it may cause them to push lightly into your head and cause discomfort after time. It's usually after about an hour of wear that i start to feel it. Solution? Pretty obvious, just take your earings out! After i took them out, wore them for another 2-3 hours comfortably.

Bottom line, definitely worth getting and trying out for $20 or less.

These replacement pads are also a tight and exact fit for the Sony MDR-7506 Studio Headphones. In my honest opinion, the combination of these pads and the 7506's give you the best sound and comfort for your $$$. The only thing I can insist on is the use of a credit card to take the old pads off, and to slip the new pads into place. I really hope you consider the 7506's and these pads for a combination you will not be disappointed with for years to come!!

June 8, 2013 These headphones receive audio ok from both my computer and my iPhone. There is a speaker embedded in them enabling 2 way conversations while making calls on my iPhone. But I can't walk around with them because any movement causes them to fall off. The price for these ear phone is pretty reasonable, but what good are sweat resistant earphones if you can't move around with them on?

August 31, 2013 The battery no longer charges.

I bought these to use with my IPad. I use it primarily to watch videos and newscast links from Facebook while I'm in the same room as my family. So audio fidelity was not critical to me. I wanted easy pairing, reliable connectivity and comfortable fit. This headset fits the bill perfectly and as a bonus, the sound is pretty good!

I was a little worried about stringing two of these together to give musicians recording in other rooms across the house a feed for their headphone monitors. These cables, however, worked flawlessly. No noise or attenuation that I could hear. VERY HAPPY with this purchase (I bought 6 of them).

What can I say? They work and they're super cheap! Much better than going to a store like radioshack and paying double or triple for the same thing.

I can tell you I will not ever be using this extension cable and will definitely be spending the money on, what hopefully will be, a better quality one in the future. I had luck with the 15ft extension but that ended up being too short for my needs. This 25 ft. was bad from the first try. I spent the whole time fiddling with my headphone jack trying to find the "sweet spot" so I could get the full audio only to have it vanish as soon as I took my fingers off it. I tested the shorter cable and then just the headphones and they were both fine.

I'm not an audiophile so I wasn't concerned with super high quality or anything, just being able to listen to the TV without disturbing my wife. But this couldn't even provide an acceptable level of quality.

I'm sure there are decent cables like this out there, and for the price I would even say it was worth the gamble to hopefully get one of them. Only this gamble didn't pay off.

My only warning would be to not get your hopes up.

The good:

Price is cheap.

Length is long.

Good for listening to audio presentation or audio books where sound quality does not matter a lot.

The bad:

Shipping is a bit expensive for a small item.

Volume quality is reduced but can be easily compensated.

The ugly:

Sound quality is greatly reduced. The sound of high frequency instruments are almost lost.

I bought this for my MP3 player. That's the reason for the two-star rating.

Pay no attention to the poor review on this product, THIS IS HEADPHONE EXTENSION CABLE. Do not use this if you're only interested in a top notch sound system. This is perfect for MP3 players and I use it to connect my amplifier to my iPod. If you want top notch sound, stick with RCA cables or something in this department. But I must say, for my decent home stereo system these extensions worked perfect! And fast shipping too!

I bought these headphones to use with my Samsung Galaxy Victory cellphone. The manual was not a great deal of help but it paired fairly easily after a few tries. There is a button on the right ear speaker and you have to hold it down until the blue light starts blinking. Then, when your device finds the headphones they will pair. Shut off the headphones by holding the same button down until the red light blinks twice.

I also paired it with my Nook HD but it took some time for me to get the Nook to even recognize the headphones were there. Once paired, they are easy to connect to every time. The sound is pretty good and the headphones are exceptionally comfortable. I subtracted a star for the time I had to spend experimenting in order to pair. I would buy them again.

I was in love with these headphones until one day after about three weeks worth of ownership, the left speaker just died for no apparent reason. I have taken great care of the product and it has malfunctioned on its own which in my opinion demonstrates a product defect. Do not buy these headphones.

The atrocious spelling and grammar in the instruction manual was almost -but not quiteenough to make me return this item. I tried it out, and found that the speaker on the left side intermittently dropped out. On telephone calls, the microphone was not adequate to make myself heard clearly.

Mine worked OK but don't buy these unless you are very familiar with Bluetooth pairing. The manual is totally incomprehensible in English. Maybe the French is better. Probably would have been more useful if they'd just left it in Chinese instead of trying to translate. It's amazing that a reputable US company like Sylvania would put their name on a product like this.

I usually have had good luck with Hosa products, mostly similar products such as cables.

This cable didn't work out of the box, only the left channel worked. I would have just returned it, but I didn't find out until the return window passed. I got it as a spare. I did find out if I bent the cable on the female side both channels worked. So, for a spare I taped the cable to the connector and it is working ok. I can't recommend this cable and I don't think I am the only one that had this problem.

I listened through my Sennheiser HD280 pro headphones with and without the 10' Hosa extension cable and could not notice any degradation of signal or difference in tone. So, the cable is certainly satisfactory in that respect. At its Amazon price I have to say that it's reasonably priced, as well. As for its quality of construction, it appears comparable to inexpensive cables in general. I'll also say that I've purchased other Hosa products and have been satisfied with them. I don't know how well it would stand up to abuse, but the answer to any question along that line is simple: don't abuse your cables and they'll last a lot longer and provide better service. I'll close by reminding readers that the flow of electricity through cables is governed by the laws of physics, not the marketing departments of the high-end cable manufacturers that charge five or ten times as much for products that do the same thing (i.e., carry a signal from point A to point B). I hope this is helpful.

Fantasmagical! Only non-real words can describe these ear buds! I could talk about these forever but, I'll widdle it down to just a few facts to influence your decision ;)

Pros:

1. EVERYTHING.

2. 2 subwoofer drivers per bud

3. 1 tweeter per bud.

4. crossover in between them all (No matter what sound level you select they will deliver with zero distortion and acoustical perfection).

5. Industrial strength shielded cord.

6. Solidly built splitter.

7. Gold contacts at ear bud swivels and jack.

8. Ear buds swivel to minimize cord tangle.

9. Replaceable cord.

10. Comfortable in the ear when worn correctly.

11. 6 different ear bud grommets to suit each individual ear hole size and depth.

12. 37dB of insulation. So say a F-18 Super Hornet is landing right above your berthing you'll feel the vibrations, but won't hear the noise!! HURRAY!

Cons: dun dun dun

1. Price. They are worth every penny and you'll be SOL if you have to switch to a lower standard for some unGodly reason.

2. The cord. Although it's one of the best I've played with, the shielding inside will make for this little loop to form. One must untwist in the was its wrapped. It isn't that big of a pain, but you want to keep it straight so the cord won't get kinked.

3. Swivel ear buds. Fantasmical idea and I wouldn't go back to the other style...EVER. But one should clean it occasionally. (Exceptionally gentle though theres a mini gold wire centered for the electric to flow through.

4. The around the ear loop doesn't hold it's shape very well. It will re-bend when it goes around your ear but it'd be easier if it just stayed.

All 4 of the cons aren't really cons. Their just nuances of an amazing piece of technical marvel. These are by far the best ear buds I've used and the best personal sound instruments I've heard in general! Meaning their better then even the over the ear and around your head types.

The 535 has been improved in several areas from the earlier 530 model, the latter of which I have two samples. The build quality has been discussed elsewhere. It is substantially solid and commendable. The replaceable cord is almost indestructible, but it being replaceable it is a non-issue.

More important is the sound quality which has been dramatically improved in a number of ways due to refinements to the shaping of the cavity within which the balanced armatures are fitted (I speak about the "speakers" inside which are more comparable to tuning forks than typical electo-magnetic speakers.) The crossover points between these armatures may also have been refined and adjusted for flatter response meaning audibly flat, rather than just measurably flat. The external shape of the device was changed too, and it should fit more comfortably for many ears once one gets used to inserting them.

While a few listeners reported hearing "no difference" between the 535 and Shure's earlier 530 model, I strongly disagree. Or given that many people really can't hear even dramatic differences, it is merely true for them, but not true for those who can hear minute but significant changes between designs of audio equipment. The 535 is different from the 530 physically period. And sonically in a number of areas any sophisticated golden ear can hear. Among my audiophile acquaintances we could easily hear the improvements as follows:

1. Increased clarity and "transparency" throughout the frequency range resulting in better delineating of instruments, one from the other, and the textures and shapes within the sound. For example, the airy whoosh of a flute, the tinkles in the distance of a softy struck triangle at the back of the stage, the rosiny draw of the bow of a string instrument, the brassy rasp of a trombone, and the shimmer and afterglow of a brushed cymbal.

2. Higher resolution of the soundspace, such that the leading edges of percussion instruments penetrate with greater force, impact and speed. The fading tails of sound decaying away are easily distinguishable and followed to its silence.

3. The sound images locked-in-the-head feeling has been reduced significantly and the soundscape is now wider, many sounds seem to exist outside the head, even at a distance from one's ears.

4. More spatial clues and sound reflections are audible, such as naturally recorded hall ambiance and slap echo against a stage wall.

5. The bass is important to most listeners, it being the foundation for the rest and the rhythmic underpinning of music. The 535 excels in this area, even over Shure's 530 earlier model which provided deep bass surely, but not with the 535's impact, solidity and tightness, definition and textures. There are other brands with seemingly MORE bass or lower bass capability. This may be an illusion. For plumbing the deepest bass we have the requirement for very high definition. The 535 is, by a long shot, superior you need to seal the earbud to your ear canal to hear it in all its glory.

6. One can continue describing sonic improvements over earlier designs, but there are space limits. Conclusion: I have not yet heard a more enjoyable, and most importantly, accurate portable device to date. The price, understandably, will be a factor for most people. However for the discerning listener who demands the quality of sound the 535 can furnish and will install CD Redbook standard or higher resolution audio files in their music players/iPods, the Shure 535 will be a stunning addition to their musical enjoyment on the go, in a plane, while exercising, or at home.

Most people are looking for assurances that the reviewer of a product is qualified, so allow me to indulge briefly: I'm a lifelong musician, sound engineer, and headphone enthusiast/general audiophile. I love music not only for the artistry and quality of arrangement, musicianship, etc, but also for the beauty of sound that comes from the recording/mastering process, ultimately delivered through your speakers or headphones.

The first thing most listeners will notice with the 535's is their phenomenal mid-range response, which is largely out of style in most of today's popular (read: crap) audio products. The tight, clean bass is delightfully present in the mix without clouding over other ranges. The treble is bright and organic, not harsh and overpowering. The improved bass response, build design, and crossover sets these apart from earlier and lower models (I actually did an A/B test with the 425s vs 535s since I own both the 535s won by a huge margin). I love cranking these puppies up...it feels like the music is emanating FROM MY BRAIN. Make sure you get a good seal on the 535's and they will change your life. Boom.

I have been very loyal to Shure for the past 5 years or so for their honest sound, quality builds, and great customer service. I had the E4G's and SE425s for several years, and when the cord broke on the former pair, they shipped me a brand new pair without question.

Bottom line: these aren't for "pop" audio listeners looking for destructively rumbling bass and over-cranked, shimmery highs. Try Bose, you will be more happy with the inaccurate replication of the music. For those seeking full, powerful, honest sound with a great build and innovative features, buy these and don't look back.

These earphones sound AMAZING! They are exactly what I would expect to hear after paying $500. But, (and it's a big "But") after using these for slightly over one month the supposed durable cable connector (the part that connects to the ear phone itself) became loose distorting and cutting off sound every time I moved the cable. I figured it was just the cable so I paid an additional $40 for a replacement cable, and quickly discovered it was not the cable itself but the input point on the ear phone! Now I have to send them back to Shure for repair! This in my opinion is simply unacceptable for a pair of $500 earphones hence the 2 star rating! And just a caveat, I in no way mistreated the earphones. They were kept in the case (the case is poor quality btw) when not in use, and were handled exactly as instructed! So, I recommend if you buy these, make sure the connection is not loose, and wiggle the cable while music is playing to make sure there is no break in sound! If so send them back immediately or you'll be stuck having to deal with Shure directly!

Got the new pair and they were awesome, so much so, they got stolen. Now I'll have to fork over another $500...geez...

I hope that this review will help someone who is "on the fence" on investing in a pair of SE535s.

I have owned multiple pairs of Shure headphones, some middle of the line and also pair of top of the line SE530s. I use my headphones almost daily, for work and for pleasure, and when I use them I use them for many hours at a time. In fact, I think I place an extra level of use on my headphones, more than most people would. I travel the world for business and I take my headphones and Iphone with me where ever I go. I don't need to spend any time raving about the high quality and exceptional sound that Shure creates with their headphones, there are plenty of reviews that can attest to their superior fidelity and you should expect nothing less than perfection when laying out $500 for a pair of headphones, however I want to focus on the customer support.

After 6 months or so after my original purchase I started to have problems with my SE530s, specifically the left earbud would cut out at the lower connection. I sent the headphones in and they were immediately replaced with a new pair. All was good until about 6 months or so the problem happened again, so I sent that pair in for repair and they were replaced. All in all, I replaced these SE530s three times, the last time almost a year AFTER the original warranty ran out. Shure customer service were always courteous when I called, and replaced my product(s) without issue and almost immediately after receiving my old headphones at their department.

Now, don't take this review as a problem with Shure's products. I believe that anytime a company produces a product there can be problems that occur. What I experienced with my SE530s were an exceptional product, with exceptional sound, that had a hard time under exceptional usage. Now, this could have been bad luck, or hell a bad design for all I know. Shure stood by their product and looked out for me as a customer. That is what I want people to take away from my review.

In the end, I purchased the SE535s and decided to keep my SE530s as a backup. I felt the SE535s with the replaceable cables would function better under the extreme usage that I put my headphones though and so far they have performed as I expected them to.

There are few things in the world that you really get what you pay for. The Shure SE535 headphones are in a class by themselves within this group.

I have a of hobby collecting headphones, and I've recently began reviewing the ones in my collection. I constructed a simple six-song test and rating system, where a score of 0 2 is abysmal, 2.1 4 is poor, 4.1 6 is mediocre, 6.1 8 is above average, and 8.1 10 is excellent.

I selected songs from a variety of genres. The songs were "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac, "Every Planet We Reach is Dead" by Gorillaz, "Concerto Grosso no. 26 in D Major" by Handel, "I Know You Are, But What Am I?" by Mogwai, "Afro Blue" by Triplexity, and "The Patient" by Tool. All songs were encoded in Ogg Vorbis at 192 kbps or higher, and I listened to them on an iAudio 7 with all sound effects turned off and the equalizer set to flat.

Sound Quality(9.2/10)

The Chain(9/10) bass, mid tones, and treble are all flat and evenly reproduced. The bass is crisp and punchy, but not exaggerated. The sound stage is good, although not incredible. Instrument separation is clear and vivid.

Every Planet(10/10) lows in this song are deep and responsive, but smooth and even at the same time. Mids and highs are also impressively vivid. The sound stage is moderately large, and instrument separation is fantastic.

Concerto(10/10) the sound in this song is very flat and smooth over all frequencies(which I like, especially for classical). Instrument separation is crisp and clear. The sound stage is not huge, but pleasantly broad.

I Know You Are(9/10) lows are nice and deep. Mids are rich and vivid. Highs are crisp and clear. The instrument separation is also very clear. Sound stage is definitely good, but not as amazing as other headphones in this price range.

Afro Blue(9/10) the bass in this song is impressively low and punchy, but again, not exaggerated. Mids and highs are clean and even. Instrument separation is fantastic. The sound stage on this song wasn't as broad as I would like, but not bad.

The Patient(8/10) music was evenly reproduced over all frequencies. Bass and mid tones were vivid, and highs were clean and clear. Instrument separation is also good. The sound stage, as before, is decent but not overly great. While this song sounded very good over the Audio Technicas, it was somewhat lacking in aggressiveness and intensity.

Overall Sound(9.2/10) the Audio Technica ATH-D40fs sounded very smooth and balanced overall with clean, deep bass, vivid mid tones, and clear highs. Instrument separation was fantastic. The only complaint I have regarding sound quality was the sound stage, which was somewhat lackluster at times.

Design(3/10) these headphones were comfortable to wear, if a bit heavy. I could listen to them for hours on end with little fatigue. While not particularly stylish, they exuded a sense a professionalism that is missing in most headphones. I give them such a low rating in design because they broke shortly after I bought them. I take good care of my headphones, but not long after I began listening to them, the left speaker would stop playing music intermittently, which leads me to believe there was a short somewhere in the internal assembly(I never actually found one in the headphone cable).

Noise Isolation(7/10) while not the best noise isolation I've ever experienced from a pair of headphone(that award would go to one of the various IEMs I've listened to), these were quite good. I estimate they blocked around 10 12 DB of ambient noise along the entire range of audible frequencies.

Bottom Line(6/10) I would like to give these headphones an 8 or 9. The sound quality was fantastic for sealed headphones at this price range, and almost everything else about them was good. Sadly, as I previously mentioned, the left speaker began behaving erratically shorty after I purchased them, and they had to be returned.

I've listened on $600 studio reference headphones (in an actual studio) and have a keen appreciation for great quality.

These headphones have been a great joy to use. Their sonic quality is excellent, mid-tones are clear and the high's are articulate. The cups are comfortable and by themselves do a wonderful job of blocking exterior noise. The only thing I can't figure out is their claim that the cord is "field-replacable", but there is no documentation or any indication that this is the case.

Other than that, it's an outstanding pair of comfortable full-cup headphones. Has a really long cord as well, which is much appreciated.

I've been extremely satisfied w/ these headphones comfortable, & sound great. I use them mostly to record w/ GargaeBand & to learn songs on bass, w/ my bass signal & a cd going thru' a mixing board. I've had them for several months now, & they've been durable. A good product; I'd rate them "Semi-Professional Quality".

These are great. I use them everyday at a top recording facility in Bogota, Colombia, where headphones gets lots of abuse, they are good and loud enough for the deafest drummers. Replacemente drivers and earcushions are cheap, and you can get these directly from audio-technica. As long as you dont break the rotating joints, these will last you a very long time.

Looking for something to replace my ipod headphones. I almost got the ath-m40fs, due to the great reviews until someone mentioned that d40fs has enhanced bass so I cancelled my order and got this instead. I was hesitant, because very few reviews were done on this model, but went ahead anyways. If you intend to use this with your portable player, like an ipod, you will need to purchase an adapter to go over the 1/4 plug. What I did was replace the whole cable with an old headset and re-wire. Pretty easy, just remove padding and 4 screws. I got mine for $57 from samedaymusic with free shipping. Don't forget they will price match on their website.

You won't be un-happy when you hear clean/clear not so boomy sound you never heard before.

This product creates fuzzy noises and makes it impossible to record anything decent. I used it for my external mic and it sucks.
