I hook it up and listen to music and I can't hear any signal degradation on my Grado SR-60s. The ends are just fine, other cables hooked into both ends snugly and I had no problems fiddling with it. I don't think there's really anything else to say.

It's made of good quality material. It does feel like it'll last for a long time. It's serving its purpose in perfect performance. Totally much cheaper than buying locally. Was gonna buy this first locally for almost 10 bucks until I found this here for a third of the price. Highly recommended.

I was concerned when I first received this cable that it did not "feel right". Within a month, the cable started acting up and now I will have to purchase another (not this one). Recommend you spend a little more money to get the quality.

This is a cool little gadget. After having played an Amplug AC30 for some time, I was looking for better lead sounds. AC30 is good for clean and crunch sounds and bluesy solos. But it definitely lacks in high gain solo department. Enter the Amplug Lead in the scene. This unit is very good from the sound, price and portability stand points.

Here is a brief explanation about the sounds:

Clean: Put the gain on 0, volume on 10, tone to your liking. Roll back the guitar volume to around 4-5 (depends how hot your pickups are, whether they are single coil humbucker etc). You get a nice clean sound, closer to a marshall than a fender.

Crunch: Gain around 4, volume and tone to your liking. Guitar volume full. You get a nice crunch for chord work and rock fillers.

Lead: Now this is where this shines. The amount of gain and sustain is unbelievable. And it still retains note definition on higher gain levels. It does get a bit noisy after the gain goes above 7. Would have been nice to have some sort of noise gate circuit in there. Take half a point away for that.

Delay: Just OK. You get a bathroom echo with 3-4 repeats, not a spacey lead sound. Take another half point away for that.

Sounds awesome through a pair of quality headphones. Even plugged it into my studio monitors, and I must say that I was impressed with the sound. Plugged in the output of my laptop into this little guy and I was able to jam along with songs/backing tracks.

Looks a bit fragile the way its constructed, but I plan to be very careful with it. I would definitely have to buy again if it broke.

All in all, awesome unit. If you are trying to decide between the different Amplugs, just go with the Lead. You get many different sounds by doing small tweaks.

I had the metal amplug, which i thought was pretty great for the price. That little thing had a lot of sustain and it could get very saturated and it never gave me any noise. And for the price is was a nice investment. Sadly though it broke. So i bought this one the lead definitly sounds bigger,it sounds more mid-y compared to the metal one and this one can also get even moore gain which is pretty great except it then starts giving you noise. The thing i didnt like very much about it was the effect. It sounds good just not great. I was expecting more of an echo effect that could be adjusted, the effect is more of a short delay/echo thing which isnt very great...and the echo was one of the biggest reasons i bought this thing and i rarely even use that feature,i alsmot never have it on,i just use the regular amp. So sadly this little thing is a 4 overall...and i wish they could make these things abit more sturdier.just a bit more! But i have to admit it sounds pretty decent for leads.. i wouldve given it a better score if it was the same price as the other amplugs

I was very happy with this, until it quit working. I really only used it lightly over a few months and when I tried it again after taking a break from the guitar for a couple months, it no longer worked, even though I replaced the batteries and the light comes on and everything. Very frustrated as I can no longer return it to Amazon as that period has expired. I do not blame Amazon for this at all.

Want Vox AmPlug Lead Guitar Headphone Amp Discount?

The Lead model is the only one I have tried so far. I use it with a seven-string Washburn guitar fitted with (too) brutal SD Invader pickups, so keep that in mind.

I was expecting a good rock tone, but the Lead is pretty much in metal territory as soon as the gain goes higher than 3 on the dial. This means that there is no clean tone to speak of. Fiddling with the three dials gives a few usable tones, so it's quite versatile for what it is. It sounds best through my PC speakers, but it's also good through my Snug headphones. The distortion is surprisingly thick, with great sustain and note definition. The amPlug sounds truly better than many little amps I've heard. The delay feature is a cool addition, but it's not very good. It's a watery, splashy slapback that contributes mostly to creating background noise. For relaxed lead work, it can work, but I leave it off. A subtle reverb would have been better, I think.

Every time I switch the delay on or off, I always turn some of the dials as well, so it's a bit annoying. Blame my big clumsy hands. The construction is not very impressive either. If it survives a drop, it wouldn't survive the stepping on it. The hiss and noise when selecting split-humbuckers is deafening, so I'd be scared to try the Lead with a Strat or Tele. The mix with an MP3 player works well too, so you can hear yourself over the music. This little thing keeps me playing hour after hour.

I'm very happy with the Lead, I will surely get another one, either the AC30 or the Bass for my bass guitar.

I cannot begin to say what a pleasure this amp is to play. The clean sound is what I play primarily and thus, the 4 star rating. It sounds great clean yet the fiddling around with the menu to get presets that are suitable for jazz and the like take time. No big deal with time issues if you're one well versed with digital menus. For dudes like me (perhaps many) this is a fine piece of workmanship with the built in tuner and all, but I just want to turn on the tube sounding warmth of an old TWIN or VOX and play mellow. Again, if one is inclined, mellow sounds will come out of this superlative amp and I am only thinking of selling mine because I just need less power and less menu stuff.

Like amateur radio, many of the new gear out is menu driven versus simplicity. I am hardly one who does not like to tinker, but when tinkering is all one is doing an playing your instrument takes second seat, there is a slight problem. So, this is based on my ineptitude rather than the amplifier's capabilities and build.

A four out of five is very good given my admission to menu driven gear as a weakness on my part.

You'll love it if you love reading manuals or have much time to tinker. Overall, the amp is superb. PERIOD.

This amp is defiantly a keeper. wonderful sound out of a solid state amp. i could go on and on about how amazing it is but youll find that out on your own if you get the amp so instead ill start with the cons. there's not a lot but some worth knowing.

first, this amp is pretty hefty. Line 6 couldve given you a bit more then a single handle to haul this thing around. perhaps some handle bars on the left and right side of the amp would be more efficient.

Next, the interface could be a little more user friendly. I figured it out on my own but i can imagine some people would really struggle to grasp how to function it. not a huge deal but still...

Thats about all the cons i can really think of at the moment. I just bought it so ill have to see if it stands the test of time. But i couldnt be happier right now. It even has very accurate built in tuner. Also the song presets are simply a blast. I spent about an hour scrolling through all of them saying things like "hey! johnny b good! i love that song! oh cool gimme shelter by the stones!!" and they all sound very accurate to the studio recordings they are mimicking.

If your looking for an amp thatll cover any live performance just short of a giant professional show involving a crowd of thousands of people then thisll will do the trick. (if your playing for that many people then you can afford a bigger amp anyway.) This amp will drown out a drummer if you get the 120wt version that i have.

In terms of price this just cant be beat either. 120 wts and i got it used for 300$. thats simply an amazing deal with all the awesome gadgets you get with this.

One last note though, I highly recommend getting the footpedal with it. this way you can use the loopinig feature, tuner, and presets without having to stoop down and change the settings by hand. especially the looping feature. in fact there's no way to really use the looping feature without the pedal so go for the footpedal and you'll thank yourself.

Once again... get this amp!

I manage a classic rock band. I recently ordered a bunch of stuff to replace aging gear. Cables, mics, stands, snakes, etc. We have now been out on a couple of gigs with the stuff. It is all good quality and working fine. Does exactly what I expected it to do. No surprises. In the interest of time I am applying this exact same review to all of the items I bought for this purpose and am happy with. FWIW, I am also taking the time to be critical of the items I am not completely happy with.

I am adding a picture for this road case also.

If you are planning to buy IO Dock DO NOT upgrade to iOS 5 it will render the hardware unusable. Until iOS 5 it was really great interface after iOS 5 is is useless you cannot get clean recording with most of the apps Ampkit+, JamUP, GarageBand are all broken. Crackling hiss. Alesis and Apple point fingers at each other no telling when the new firmware update will be here. There is no way to get through to Alesis tech support. I feel like I wasted $200 on yet another interface that will likely become obsolete after iPad3. Very frustrating.

Update 10/29/11 Alesis released firware upgrade 1.07 yesterday I just installed it and first impression is that at least for some apps it made huge difference Garaga Band works again. So does Ampkit+. JamUP lite still not working correctly very low output. I need more testing but I think that the worst may be over.

I am changing rating from 2 stars to 4 (tentatively at least will see if there and long term degradation in performance with 1.07.

Update 11/11/11 I must say that Alesis is playing games with us. There is whole group of very angry consumers out there that bought the hardware and several apps to run on it and are getting no help from Alesis no reply to emails there is no way to get tech support on the phone. At present Alesis (via their representative on the community forum) is claiming that the newest iOS version 5.0.1 has fixes for audio issues and is encouraging people to install that version and "report the results". In other words they are looking for free testers. People that installed 5.0.1 say that it did not make any difference.

At this point I would not advise anybody to buy IO Dock unless you are still running IOS4 and you do not pan to upgrade.

In a view of irresponsible treatment of customers by Alesis I am changing review back to 2 stars.

Please google "Get Satisfaction" ALESIS online forum (or better "Io dock hiss").

for newest developments in IO Dock and iOS5 incompatibility.

Update 03/09/12

after months of promises that iOS5.1 would fix the problem Alesis decided to CENSOR his own online help forum actively removing any post critical of their handling of the problem (lack of any warning about iOS5.0 for months that might contributed to several people being experience hearing loss after IO Dock emitted loud screech into their headphones). Update 03/11/12

Alesis closed original thread "Io dock hiss" on "Get Satisfaction" forum and marked it "Solved". Thread contained 1055 messages from 127 people that may give you some idea about the scope of the problem. Couple months ago Alesis try damage control by limiting visible message to most recent 15 and tried to blame it on forum administrators.

Now after old thread is "solved" the new thread "IO dock still hissing after firmware and ios 5.1 updates" emerged and this time Alesis simply deletes any unflattering messages.

I've heard from enough people now that their orders are arriving with the adapter I'm happy with the product and the adapter.

You should ignore the following as it no longer applies:

The product did not contain the adapter for the iPad 2. Instead you have to fill in an online form and Alesis will ship you one "free of charge" in ** 4 to 6 weeks **. Alesis wanted to get it in your hands quickly so they shipped something you cannot use bad choice guys.

I received the product 3 weeks after ordering an "in-stock" product with 5-day shipping. J&R's fault for selling the in stock version out from underneath my order. Long weekend excuses etc.

It finally arrived 20 days after the estimated delivery and now I cannot use it as it doesn't contain the adapter for the iPad 2.

I would much rather have been told about the incompatibility up front and not paid $200 for something I couldn't use for a couple of months!

Yes, I'm annoyed. Bad behavior from everyone involved.

Amazing before, yet I am not sure you should buy it. I would not, here's why:

UPDATED 11/22/11: Just changed my review of 3 stars to 2 stars. Alesis says it's apple fault, and it might as well be, however, they continue to sell without letting customers or vendors know of the compatibity issues. On their support forum, they have been deleting the posts that people complains about it. That is just wrong. Sorry Alesis, great product, but terrible support, not compatible with ipad 1 or 2, and worst of all, lack of honesty.

BEFORE iOS 5: If you are willing to use a USB MIDI Keyboard with it, STOP. Don't buyt it. It will not work. The USB port in this unit is just to connect to your computer and basically does nothing but upgrade the firmware. Although ALESIS claims that it's FULLY MIDI COMPATIBLE, it's not, so don't waste your time. Keyboard will only work in MIDI if you use the old 5 pin midi cables from your keyboard to the unit. NO USB AT ALL. But okay, it's still a good product and it works until...

AFTER iOS 5: It will not work. Do a google search for IO DOCK hiss and see the problems. It's crackling/hiss noise all the way and support is not there to help you. ALESIS is now offering a mail in rebate for a free mic and headphones, which I doubt anyone will ever receive, and you can't reach them by phone either... so I guess they just want to get rid of the inventory and screw customers for a new product or because they can't fix it. But one thing is for sure, BAD BAD BAD support, and caring less for the customers.

Make up your own mind, but one thing is for sure, TODAY I WOULD HAVE RETURNED IT IF I COULD. Better products are yet to come, and until then, you can use functional products like the iRig series. As of right now, IO DOCK is my very fancy, $200 ipad charger...

I bought the iO Dock for my IPad with retinal display and it did not work, even with the 30 pin adaptor. Don't buy this if you have the latest Ipad iteration. Wait for Alesis to develop new hardware that interfaces with it. Some do have success with the 30 pin adaptor... some. But even then, the IPad won't sit right in the dock.

I was very interested in the product but heard lots of bad things about the updated ios by Apple causing a real problem.

Alesis iO DOCK Docking Station

Before buying, I called Alesis. They answered fairly quickly and assured me that they had fixed the software problem.

I also checked with Guitar Center before buying and they gave me the same answer.

I am writing just to let potential buyers know that I plugged my ipad in running IOS5.1 and the dock worked perfectly. I love this product.

I took two days reading the Amazon reviews, website reviews and forum reviews. This pop dual screen filter received the highest reviews. It has even out performed the metal mesh pop filters (even Yeti's own Blue-specific model, which I almost bought). This On Stage pop filter is solidly constructed, stays in place well and although made of plastic is great quality.

The dual screen more effectively blocks the exhalation air than a single screen design. I have done multiple audio recordings with and without the screen to compare the difference. The filter creates a very significant reduction in the "p", "f", "d" and "s" pops that happen when speaking or singing. The voice quality sounds crisper and clearer as well losing the stuffiness that is heard without a filter. The change is much better in my opinion.

The arm is constructed of metal and bends to shape easily. It is a very firm arm and holds the shape you bend it to. I have had the arm installed for over 6 weeks and it has not moved it position yet unless I move it of course.

The round head can swivel, which isn't really necessary once it's set up properly.

The clamp works very well and grips the mic base securely. I use this with my Blue Yeti microphone. I've uploaded the 3 photos in this listing to show how I've installed it. During my own research I read many reviews where people had problems attaching the pop filters but not with this model. The clamps on other models have flaws that will scratch/damage the mic's base or not hold firmly. Some pop filters must screw on. Others have invented some interesting and effective ways to secure their pop filters, but none of that is needed with this filter. It works perfectly right out of the box.

The only fault that I've found with this pop filter is that the clamp seems to shift ever so slightly when I am moving the entire mic unit. The grip is firm, but not firm enough to withstand the bumps that happen when I move the mic from my shelf to my table. The pop filter has never fallen off, it's just that I need to re-tighten and adjust the clamp on occasion. We are not talking large movements here I mean millimeters. This is not a big enough issue to warrant even a 1/2 star drop in the review.

I've uploaded 3 photos of this pop filter installed on my Blue Yeti mic so that you can see how it easily and securely attaches. I highly recommend this filter, not only for the Blue Yeti, but for any microphone. The audio benefit is very noticeable and well worth the investment.

For anyone struggling with deciding to purchase a pop filter, I can tell you that this $20 investment has saved me about 2-4 hours of audio editing per 60 minute audio file that I used to perform prior to this purchase. Take my advice get one! You'll be so happy that you did.

This is a great pop filter. The double screen really cuts out a lot of wind noise and "P" sounds. Having the pop filter in place doesn't change the quality of the recording either.

Pros

clamp is plenty strong and opens up wide for all sizes of mic stands

goose-neck makes it very adjustable

double screen provides more than adequate filtering

end of the goose-neck swivels for more adjustability

Cons

none so far

I upgraded to this Dual Pop Screen from a Metal Mesh one. The mesh was recommended to me by a friend and it did a decent job, but it would allow some B's and P's to slip through. Since using the Dual Pop Filter, I have yet to get an audible pops in the mic. I would highly recommend this product!

This pop filter does work at suppressing sibilants, but unfortunately what it does best is GET IN THE WAY OF EVERYTHING. I like to get really close to the mic for my soft vocals, but this pop filter does not allow that.

Also, I noticed this thing tends to deaden and blur the vocals as well, as if singing through a thick blanket. If you like your vocals to sound rich and bright, go for another pop filter.

I don't have much experience with higher quality headphones, but I am really taken aback by how great these sound. All I really have to compare them to are my friends dre beats and I would say that these are vastly superior.

The bass is very heavily emphasized and it doesn't muddy out anything else, but also sounds good with some classical that I listen to. They also get pretty loud without an amp. (using a sansa clip plus as an mp3 player)

Very comfortable. I wore these for about 6 hours and the only discomfort I felt was how warm my ears started getting over time. That is saying a lot since I wear glasses. The ear pads are also very soft. That would probably be why it doesnt hurt to wear them with glasses.

The point where the cord meets the jack is covered by a spring to help prevent damage to the cord. This is a nice feature since I have a tendency to put my mp3 player in my pocket on the go.

The only cons I could really give these are in the design. The cord is a 9 foot straight cable. It can be a little awkward to use if you take them everywhere like I do. It is also made out of mostly plastic. It certainly feels sturdy enough but my friends and I have both noticed it looks kind of like a toy (atleast in this limited edition color)

Not a native speaker, so excuse me if I somehow fail to describe what I exactly have in mind. But I feel the need to express myself regarding this product.

I am impressed by these headphones, more so than I have EVER been impressed by any headphones I have owned so far, including 2 somewhat similiar Sennheisers. I am listening to songs in FLAC format, and the sound in various guitar-based musics is so "defined". Everything is right there without stepping on any of the others feet. The bass is not superimposing itself on anything but is everpresent. The high and lows are well balanced. The sound is just amazing for the price they are sold at here in Amazon as of this writing (120-150$ range).

I gotta say the design is not as catchy as some other brands, like dr-you-know-who. The build quality is "good" not "great". There are many better looking, better designed headphones out there. If you are in for the looks, dont even bother with these. But if what you hear is what matters, you probably wont be able to spend any better 150$ for the job.

The isolation is working very well. I find the cord guard useful. These are not the lightest of the kind, but on your head they dont feel as heavy as they do in hand. I have been sitting in front of my computer for a bit more than 2 hours so far and dont have the least bit of aches or anything. I probably can keep this going for another 2 hours with no problems at all.

If you are considering about buying these headphones, stop considering and act right now. Trust me you wont ever regret it if youre looking for a headphone of this kind.

I purchased these cans because I have been becoming more and more picky about sound quality, (Birth of an audiophile? let's hope so) and I read MANY great reviews (about the M50's in general as they are identical to the non LE versions, other than look) I have been listening to many types of music, mainly electronic, but some classical/jazz and they sound near perfect. You can hear a Pp Clarinet solo like it was right next to you... One complaint on sound has to bee that the highs are a TAD harsh, but I'm hypothesizing that they will smooth out after burning them in for awile.

They are quite comfortable over my medium long hair, but push a little underneath my ears, nothing too bad, just a smidgen annoying if I focus on it. You can loosen or tighten the headband by spreading the headphones out. My ears do get a bit warm after a bit, but just by taking the cans off and shaking my head they cool down, and back to the comfort and MUSIC!

I will edit this review once I have burned them in, and once I purchase a Headphone Amplifier and Ipod dock out adapter. (pretty set on the Fiio E6 and L3 products)

As of right now (before burn-in) I give these headphones a 9/10

The headphones are amazing and the quality is great for the low price point. No other headphones in this price range can even compare. The shipping was fast, and there was no damage whatsoever to the package itself. Will definitely buy from here again! Thank you!

I picked up a set of these recently and have found that I really enjoy owning them. They borrow a lot from classic AKG headphones in terms of styling and construction but the sound is not the same. Doing some research online, you will find that the drivers are a different diameter than AKG's. They have a little more high end emphasis than the AKG K240's (also own). The high end is something that K240's lack, or rather don't exaggerate. While you can tell that Samson cuts some corners on the SR850 (how could they NOT?) the build quality is excellent and likely to impress most people considering the price point. The auto adjusting strap works just great. It allows the headphones to instantly adjust to anyone's head size. Thanks AKG! The earpads are very comfortable and they sit off of your ears enough that most peoples lobes aren't going to touch the vinyl or be bothered. The earpads will smell for a little while, but they are quite nice. I've had no problems leaving these on for hours and hours. The SR850's are very low impedance and can easily be driven by personal music players like iPods, Sansas, smartphones etc. Because of the low impedance though, noisy sources will let some hiss through the headphones more often than on higher impedance phones. Even my K240's at 55ohm are a little quieter with hiss. Its not a deal breaker.

They also seem to benefit from some play time, mine did anyway.

All in all, they do some really incredible things with music. Things that headphones at this price shouldn't have the right to do! They have great high end sizzle, beautiful open air sound stage, and deep natural bass. I'm very very impressed and would recommend a pair to anyone looking for a nice set of open back headphones.

I'll keep the review short. I consider myself an audiophile having bought a good amount of expensive gear, and these headphones can at the very least compete with headphones the likes of the ATH-M50 and Denon D1100. They are clear, balanced, yet bassy and sparkly all at once. The best value in headphones I know of.

I recently bought the Samson C01U (USB Mic) and the Samson SR850 (Headphones). I have to say, Samson made an impression on me. This combo pulls off a killer performance. Its the perfect setup for all your home studio needs. The SR850 headphones give you a great reference to your audio. Good solid flat reference with fantastic frequency range makes these a big winner in my home studio. All technical specs on these add to its beauty. Great looking, great sounding and very important, extremely comfortable. Long sessions are common, so a comfy set of headphones is always a plus. Good thing these Samsons got you covered. Buy these.

I've owned a pair of these Samson headphones for 2 years now, and I can honestly say they are amazing.

Sound quality is good, really good.

For music listening, I've found the bass response to be very deep and punchy, and the tops come out nice and clear. Quite a few headphones I've tried get one or the other right, but most don't have such a great balance of bass, mids and lows.

I also play electric guitar (on my own and in a band), and I was absolutely stunned at how great they are for guitar work! I use a Fender USA Stratocaster and Line6 POD, and I love the way they sound through these phones. They have a nice long cable as well.

The best part is, I've had these headphones for 2 years now, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with them, they've stood up surprisingly well to being carried around from work and band practice.

If you are looking for active noise cancellation, you'll have to look elsewhere though, but that said the noise bleed-in isn't bad at all, I've used these on stage without needing to deafen myself to hear them.

If they did break, or got lost or stolen, I'd definitely look for another pair. Crappy Beats or Skullcandy headphones don't even compare, and these are like half the price, I can definitely say that with beats or Skullcandy you're just paying for some fancy packaging and color that really you gotta be a sucker to fall for. These look pretty good as they are though, I like the styling.

These truly are 5-star headphones.

PC Gamers..

As much as you'd like to brag about that nice, badass 5.1 surround sound you have, chances are you have neighbors, like me, and can't exactly blast your gaming as loud as you'd like..

So you sport a pair of gaming headphones, ones that have the microphone integrated, or simulated surround sound.. And are content with that like I was. Until I purchased these headphones.

Granted, these do not include a microphone.. But a good standalone microphone, like the Zalman ZM-Mic1 I have (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00029MTMQ/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_image), clips perfectly on the cord and has amazing reviews as well. .Giving me a combination of a good microphone and headset..

The sound card I have on my Desktop PC is an Asus ROG Xonar Phoebus. With this soundcard i've had three seperate headsets. A Plantronics Gamecom 777, Creative Fatal1ty Edition, and a Turtle Beach Ear Force X12. All three of those are absolute garbage compared to these open ear Samsons...

Everybody's ears are different, but I have to say that for the money these headphones blew me away. Listening to music after I broke these in was astonishing. I was hearing things I've never heard in my songs before.. And I'm not talking about crappy 128kb MP3s I got from Johnny Vanu down the road, I'm talking about FLAC audio, and 320kb/s lossless MP3s. It's a very versatile headset that I would highly recommencement be paired with a decent clip on microphone for a full, isolated gaming experience (For when you can't break out the true surround sound)

I bought these for my a/v rca inputs in my car. I have a built-in DVD player so I can plug my iPod/iPhone into my car that way. I already had cables for the iPod to a/v rca, but needed one for my iPhone. I know the headphone jack is different on the iPod vs the iPhone, so I got these cables. They work wonderfully and really feel very heavy duty!

I have a surround sound set up for my HD television. To be able to listen to my tunes through the surround sound speakers is amazing! If you have a receiver, you can pump up the volume, and hear the nuance of the music much clearer and sharper than with plain old ear buds. Your entire body can feel the bass rather than just your ears. The design of the product is attractive and durable, a perfect compliment to the iphone. I couldn't be happier with this simple yet valuable product.

Despite the name, this cable works with iPod, iPhone, Macbook, and stereo equipment. The RCA components are metalic, and the 'silver' shine fades over time.

I bought this because I wanted to be able to plug my iphone into the front jack inputs on my stereo receiver so that I could play any iphone music content on my stereo.

Worked perfectly; also very well constructed, not cheap at all, will probably last "forever".

Buy it; I would think you'll be very satisfied.

Well designed cable that works well on my '06 Infiniti. Hooks up easily to the AUX jacks on my radio. Cable is very flexible and the connector for the iPhone is heavy allowing it to be placed where it won't get lost when not connected.
