I just got the headphones in the mail today. They look really cool just like the picture, but the sound isn't quite what I was expecting. Of course they are less than $20 headphones, I just expected a little more. They do sound nice, but there is next to no noise cancellation so don't expect any. They also are not all that loud, but they sound clear and they will probably make for a decent set of headphones for the price. They are also pretty big and may be loose on someone with a small head.

This headset works very well for voice conversations. The microphone is especially good. Both parties could be heard and could speak clearly without any outside noise or interference. The headphones did a good job of playing back the voice from the other line. One huge advantage is that the playback volume in the ears can get to very high volume levels if desired (much higher than the phone itself, which for me is a Droid X). Therefore, it is quite convenient to use in a noisy environment, as both the speaker and microphone work very well in this situation.

You will not want to use this headset for extended listening, however, as the bass response is practically nonexistent and the midrange is fairly nerfed as well. But I would not expect amazing music reproduction from a $15 set of earphones anyway, so it does what it needs to pretty well.

It comes with a set of rubber flanges in different sizes for various ear canals. I found that the ones that came attached were too small, and fitted a larger (though not the largest) rubber flange onto the phones. It was very simple and easy to do, unlike other earphones that I have had before. Overall, I'd say this headset is worth the purchase if you are looking for a hands-free solution for your cell phone. Just make sure it has a 3.5mm TRRS input connection like on the iPhone 4 and Droid X.

These headphones produced great sound and worked well with my Droid X for about three days. After that one of the ear buds separated exposing the wires inside. Now every time I want to use them I have to put it back together.

I bought the DBSound because I needed a headset to use for Skype. It fits nicely and has no frills. The price was very reasonable, and people on the other end heard nice and loudly, which leads me to believe that the microphone is of good quality also. All and all a strong buy. Nothing too surprising but for the money, it will serve you very well.

A great headset for the price. I also own the Bose MIE2, which has a much superior sound quality and better fit in your ears, but the Bose cost a hundred bucks. I wear the DBSound Hi-Fi headset on a daily basis for talking on my Samsung Galaxy S (Android) phone, and the Bose MIE2 when I really want to enjoy high quality sound during physical activities such as hiking and jogging. The sound quality is good and the noise cancelling ear buds work very well, indeed. So overall, this is a great product for the price. I'll buy another pair if / when this one will break or go out (which is likely to happen at *some* point, considering the amount of wear and tear it is subjected to on a daily basis). The only gripe I have with the DBSound headset is that the wires produce a noticeable amount of noise when they rub against my cheeck or against my shoulder. That's why I use them primarily for phone conversations and for listening to voice recordings, such as news, audio books, lectures, and seminars. For listenign to music, I prefer to plug in the Bose MIE2 heaset.

I am not a bluetooth person! This is awesomeeeeee for my droid x! Holding the phone while multi tasking can be done but it gets annoying and having people on speaker can get on one's nerve because usually the words are cut off by the other person! I have spoken to many people from this headset and they can hear me fine, not muffly or anything! Just what I wanted! VERY HAPPY! YAY!

As an account executive of a marketing company I am on the phone all day. I have tried numerous headsets over the years and have never really liked any of them. I finally decided to spend a little more than I usual do and see if there really is a difference...THERE IS...gone are the headaches from wearing them all day, these fit nice and are very comfortable, I can hear without having to turn the volume up, I am not distracted by my co workers. I can finally actually hear what people are saying...it does not come with the 2.5 connector which I find not fun but I was able to order it thru Amazon...in fact I returned the first set because I thought it was missing....if you are on the phone all day these are perfect...the cord is a little short.

I want a binaural headset for my phone with a 2.5mm connector. Will this work?? I have no idea because there is no mention of what connector it has, not even a picture.

Works as expected. I am using it with a Polycom IP550, which did require one of those smart cables (a little extra expense) and a bit of play around with the setting on the smart cable. Once I found the optimal setting, I have no complaints.

I'm extremely confused as to why the reviews aren't great on this product & not just on here, but the best buy website, Amazon, Walmart and Target as well. Let me tell youI've been thinking about these earbuds for the last few weeks and I waited for a while to purchase them to make sure that I wasn't going to waste money and hope they wouldn't disappoint. I only have one friend that I know of who has a pair of these, but he has the tours. I asked him how he felt about his and he said they were amazing. I'm actually stoked that I decided to buy them. Since there are a lot of people saying that their headphones seem to break somewhat easy, and the left bud blows outof course I went with the warranty (actually purchased them from walmart, and got the $9 warranty) . I've had these for an hour now. The TV is on in the background and it's set at a decent volume, I know I'd definitely be able to hear it with my apple headphones on. Can't hear it even a little bit with these on. Pink Floyd just came on my iphone and it's actually fantastic. I'm hoping I never have to use the warranty but I'm very happy I got it. Also, people are out of their mindsthe bass on these is actually FANTASTIC, you can actually feel it in your chest. It's way too loud turned all the way up. If you're having a moral dilemma as to whether or not you should buy themyou should buy them. If you still aren't sure, save your money for them and I promise when you deicide to go with them that they will be worth the wait. -Elizabeth

The sound was great!...for 2 months, then the left ear bud crapped out on me (most likely a frayed wire). Prior to this the paint managed to chip off the buds themselves. I took great care of these things, never putting a strain on the wire, never wraping them in a tight ball, and never knoting them. I had to revert back to my $20 JVC ear buds that seem to be able to handel any kind of abuse imaginable. If you're spending this kind of money, these people have absolutly no excuse for how flimsy their product is.

These headphones are extremely FRAGILE. I would ONLY BUY THESE WITH A PROTECTION PLAN.

My first pair of in-Ear Beats were given to me as a birthday present 3 years ago. I used the brand new earbuds for 3 weeks before they wore out. They lose connection between the male piece of the headphone jack and the wire.

Just last week I got this "new and improved" pair as a birthday gift. Again, they failed in the same place. I have had these headphones for 6 days and already I can hear static when the cable is not straight.

I treated these headphones with great care. I always rolled them up and put them in their holder when they weren't in use. They never were hit, dropped, chewed on, spilt on, etc.

I had read many reviews and none of them made clear how poorly made these headphones are. They sound fair for the price and look sexy as sin but WILL BREAK.

My friend heard me talking about my issues with these headphones and informed me that he continually experiences the same problem with his headphones but because he has a protection plan he simply brings them to BestBuy and they replace them.

BRITTLE, DELICATE, WEAK, CHEAPLY MADE, MARKETED WELL

i bought these on june 28 and they broke sept 17! and nothing can be done to replace the buds. I was very careful when I used my headphones. very sad that I spent 100.00 for something that doesn't last a year!!!!!

I bought these headphones used but very good was the quality. They lasted me *3Months* only and the right ear side died. I contacted the seller and wasn't compensated at all. The excuse was that there's only a thirty day warranty that I never recieved.. You can get a pair new from walmart for 30$ more and a 2 year warranty. Don't be cheap and get these *Buy New*.. You'll thank me later..

For a basic BT headphone these work really well. And, they're the best priced headphones you'll find.

Works out of the box with Linux Mint, Redhat, and Ubuntu. Also works with all expected problems with

Microsoft Window 8 and less difficulty with Windows 7 (expect to have to load drivers, because these

will show up as telephony-headphones and really low quality drivers needed to get music quality.)

I can't speak for any Mac issues, but I wouldn't be surprised if you have to buy something extra to get them

to work with Mac (like just about everything else.)

NOTE: At time of writing this review, the price for this seller is higher than others selling Koss "The Plug". Shop around!

My interest for this product is as a solution to listening to music, lectures, and movies while travelling, and I travel a lot. I have a set of Panosonic noise-cancelling headphones which were good (about five times more expensive than these earbuds) though bulky, but the plastic broke so they won't stay on my head now.

These earbuds are an excellent alternative to noise-cancelling headphones for the frequent traveller. I find them more comfortable for extended listening than most conventional headphones. The ability to seal out noise from the external environment is very good, and makes it possible to understand what actors are saying when watching a movie on an airplane.

The overall performance sound quality and noise blocking is not as good as the Bose noise cancelling headphones, but the Bose are 20 times as expensive, much less convenient to carry, and subject to damage from the rough world of the road warrior. If The Plug had an optional noise-cancelling unit (say, combined with the eq), it would be a killer combination are you listening, Koss?).

The sound is good. Bass-heavy, to be sure; I would like them better if they had a flatter response, but the product is marketed at the portable music crowd, and many of them are looking for dramatic bass rather than golden-ears sound.

Besides, mobile sound is always a compromise, it's just a question of whether the compromise they chose works for you.

Here are some problems I've heard and the solutions:

1. "They fall out of my ear." I think an older version of this product did not come with alternative cushions; the ones I bought recently (as pictured here) came with 3 alternative cushion pairs, one of which fit well in my somewhat large ears. To make them fit well, roll the cushions in your fingers and squeeze them down, then hold them in place in your ears while they adjust the fit. Also, it is possible to fashion your own cushions (easy modification to commercially available ear plugs from pharmacy); go to google and search for "koss plug mods".

2. What about when I have to replace the cushions, they'll get waxy/dirty with use? See last sentence of #1.

3. "They sound tinny". I have a sense that the sound was tinnier on an earlier version of these earbuds, judging from comments I've read in feedback and on the koss plug mods page. The purple plugs (as opposed to the older(?) blue ones) do not sound tinny to me; they seem a bit heavy on the bass instead. Koss also makes a 3-band eq (20 dollars) for their headphones that can be used to adjust the sound some. I have an eq on order, hoping it may temper the boomy bass a bit. Of course, your player may have a way of changing the color of the sound, but my laptop does not.

4. "They're easy to lose." The price of their tiny size and negligible weight, is that you need to be careful not to lose them. I've already lost a pair. Koss also makes a carrying case which may help, or you could just put them in a 35mm film canister. But at $... a pair (compared to $... for noise-cancelling headphones) I'll just keep a spare pair around in my travelling case.

Overall I'm pleased with the price/performance tradeoff for these earbuds, and they are an essential part of my travelling kit. They sound better than any other earbuds I've used, and they remove a good bit of the ambient sound, offering more pleasure in listening. I give four stars out of five because I'd prefer a less bassy sound, though some people will really like the way they sound.
