When you're just beginning to learn guitar there are two things you want. You want to play LOUD, and you don't want anyone to hear how bad you play. This thing solves both of those problems. Sure you could get one of those "Mini" amps, but they aren't really all that mini, then you need a cord from your guitar connected to the mini amp, and then you need headphones connected to the mini amp.

With this, it's so small, you just plug it into your guitar, and plug your headphones into it. Done.

After reading about this gadget from a number of reliable sources, I went ahead and gambled the 40 ducats on it and couldn't be happier. The first time I popped this little doohicky into my Ibanez RG, plugged in the phones, maxed the gain and slowly raised the volume I was nearly slammed into the wall by forcefield of metal madness. I attacked the Phrygian scale then glided into my favorite riffs. Power chords: BANG! Who knew you could get such big amp sound out of this tiny plastic box?

Substitute a plain old minijack cable between the phones jack and anything with speakers and you have an improvised amp with sound as big as the remote speakers allow.

It also has a minijack auxiliary input so you can jam along to your iPod or PC output in virtually total silence. No more annoying neighbors banging on your walls when you get the urge to shred at 2:00 a.m.

It would be nice if there was some reverb on the device, but metal holds up well with big gain so I'm not complaining. The device also has a tendency to swing around while you play -if you are a highly mobile shredder this might annoy you (but can easily be fixed with a bit of gaffers tape).

If you're on a budget or just want to jam loudly in peace, you could do much worse than this. Throw one in a gig bag with a set of decent phones (and an iPod if you want) and you may as well be carrying a pocket sized amp with you. Note also that this was designed for METAL -it's all about the gain. If you are looking for something bluesy or some other wimpy sound, consider the other amPlugs.

This is a very neat little product, The sound is decent, however, not clean. If you are looking for a clean, undistorted sound, this is not right for you. If you like distortion, this headphone amp is nearly perfect. It may say Metal, but, it does so much more. You can get anything from just a little crunchiness to a Metal (not too heavy, gets too distorted) sound. I paired this amp with a pair of Sony MDR7506 Pro's and it allows me to play all night a move around without waking up anyone in the house, or the neighborhood. It is also nice that I am no longer confined to on area in the house to play. I can move around freely and not put myself into complete seclusion when I wanna break out my guitar. I would recommend this product to anyone whose ever had to put up with roommates or household members complaining about your guitar playing.

If you play metal and wanna warm up before a show this is your best buddy. Crunch is awesome, as if a pedal was being used. Volume control, mids, and highs also controlled by dails. Plus its so small it won't be I'm the way of your lap when seated or standing. Buy it, It's amazing. . Stay metal!

Wow, this little thing blew away my expectations. Way better then amplitube or any of that crap. When I can't play my half stack 6595+/Mesa at night in uh this I'm and it blows me away how heavy it sounds. It has a very full tubeish sound, flip on the neck pup and you have the les Paul bluesy sound, back on the bridge and play some Metallica Pantera or whatever metal style you play without worrying about the neighbors. Awesome.

The overall sound quality is ok, it sounds like its coming from far away though. The plastic is cheap quality and breaks easily. The packaging was very poor as well with a flimsy box and no padding. My set broke during transport and decided that I would return them, but decided to keep them due to eforcity's return policy (eforcity will not refund you the shipping cost and requires you pay for return shipping). These headphones aren't worth it.

This recorder is easy to operate because of its size. However!it requires an SD card not included. The unit does not delete a poor recording which happens a lot. And last of all, there is no way to play back the recordings without a computer. And the recordings sound like there played in a box. Not good.

I have a huge collection of cassettes recorded over many years from LP's and CD's and finally wanted to get around to digitizing them. I found the Pyle PAD6 and really liked the feature that allowed conversion directly to SD cards. That and the $29 dollar price made me pull the trigger.

Unfortunately, the PAD6 is poorly constructed with very loose line and headphone connections. This makes for really bad conversions with the sound shifting from channel to channel and volume going up and down according to the vagaries of the line connection.

I don't know if this is inherent in the product or I just received a lemon. But it is going back.

On the plus side, operation is simple and straight forward and it was the the least expensive analog to digital conversion device I found.

But I guess you get what you pay for. Or on second thought, sometimes you don't even when it is dirt cheap.

This came quickly after I ordered it. I have used it to record dj sets etc... and it is a straightforward, easy to figure out product. The recording quality is not bad, not great...

Didn't expect it to come with an S/D card seeing how much it costs. It is easy to transfer and load up to your computer. The recorder is small and very simply made. It does its job though just not the best out there. Kinda what you'd expect.

I don't usually write reviews, but I feel it would be very irresponsible of me not to let people know that this product is worthless and the company has no customer support. You have been warned!

I got the package deal on this Tascam because I knew I would need some of them. The price was reasonable and every thing works great! The only problem I had was they sent it signature required and neglected to tell me in advance. I had to take a day off of work to get it.But even wit that considered it was well worth it!

I like this product allot, this stops the noise when practicing and allows others to enjoy the room. It was a new item the price was write if I need another I will use this seller again for this type of product considering the vox brand is way to over priced. You can find the vox brand in any retail musical location but they range from 59 dollars and up. Seller I would like to thank him for being reasonable and not trying to gouge the consumers. You have my business keep these on stock also could you try and get the bass version in your inventory. Thanks again the consumer

Anything that will make it more likely for you to get in the needed hours of practice to master an instrument is a good thing and this little headphone amp works pretty well with enough gain to power headphones, especially considering the price (under $12). It would be nice to have all the tones/timbres/sounds together in one unit (I bought the "tube" sound version) but that wasn't a deal breaker for me. I like that it gives me another option for practice and without power cords, amps, or instrument cables just guitar, headphones, and this device.

Bought two cable & used one in my car to hook my iPhone up to my Maxima & it just stopped working. It is a really small gage cable. I don't know if it got caught on something or what, just quit working.

EDIT:

The next day (after writing the above review) Ledhill sent me an E-Mail saying they would send me TWO NEW Cables. I only had one go bad. I will keep using this product & make anther review in another month or two. Its a great looking SMALL diameter cable. I did bump it up to a two star rating, from a one star. As long as I have no further trouble, I'll give it a couple of more stars in time.

I actually got this pedal many years ago and thankfully it was still being made in Japan which probably explains why it still works a charm more than a decade later. I've since used it frequently while jamming and practicing either at home or in a band setup in a friend's place and I really liked the fact that there are 24 different combinations of effects that you can choose from although truth be told I've settled over the years to just a handful of these combinations whenever I play. Still, I like the way I don't have to connect various effects boxes together to get a nice sound and that I can also fine tune the settings if I like although I rarely if ever do this in practice. I also like the in-built tuner which comes in handy especially in a noisy setting.

And now the not-so-good elements: I used this on-stage during a paying gig once and it just died on me midway through the set! Thankfully I had a spare battery in my pocket and a sympathetic audience as well as a professional enough band to cover for me while I spent the minute or so making the battery change. This baby consumes a lot of power and so if you decide to use this live in a performance, make sure that you put in a fresh alkaline battery. Alternatively, you can use the 9 volt adaptor that was included in my original purchase as part of the package in which case it works like a charm. Secondly, stepping on the pedal only allows you to change from setting to setting sequentially. What this means is that if you want to go from say A1 to C3 you can't do that with one step but you'd need to do a minimum of 4 steps by pressing a very small button on the right edge twice and then stepping on the right pedal twice. Try doing all this live if you need to make changes during a tune!

For these reasons, this is a good toy to play with at home or while jamming among friends but it has limited practical uses for the professional or performing musician. I know I may sound antiquated for saying this but I still like pedals and so if I'm ever asked to perform again, unless I can use the adaptor and I do not need to make setting changes during tunes on a set I'm going to the tried and tested individual pedals instead which for me would include an Ibanez Tubescreamer or Thrashmetal or Muff Overdrive with a DOD Compresser/Sustainer and an Arion Delay. Maybe someday I'll "upgrade" to more modern boxes out there for stagework but right now I'll leave nothing to chance.

Overall, I'm pleased with this purchase for what I use it for which is an easy way to get interesting sounds while practicing or jamming with friends and the fact that the one I purchased years ago is still working so well for me speaks volumes for the overall quality of this Zoom product.

Buy Zoom 505 Now

Ok so technically I used the 505II which is an upgraded version of this model. Seriously this is probably the worst sounding pedal I have ever heard. Lets start with the distortions. For the most part they are noisy. Very noisy, On every setting. So noisy that sound barely gets through. This thing has no bottom or top end sound. Midrange is mostly what comes trough. The distortions that are not too noisy are too fuzzy. It sounds like playing a guitar trough a staticy tv. The acoustic sim sounds very muteed like you have towels in your guitar.

Further more the effects on this thing have very limited tweakability. Just like 9 settings for each. Not much variation there. They all sound very thin aswell. This does have one thing going for it. A great swell sound and decent pitch shifting. Other than that though its crap.

Its also quite indurable. Mine lasted less than a year before it quit working. After i started using the plug the battery would no longer work. Plus whats the deal with the modulation effects? They are probably the most useless thign i have ever seen.
