I bought this interface so I could plug in directly to the computer. I have a MacBook Pro and it does work. I use Guitar Rig and Ampitube X-Gear. At first I was unable to get a sound. Tried to look for support in the PDF Manual just to find there is no comments or anything for Mac whatsoever. I was getting a little frustrated. After some google research, I found the answer, after running either of the programs I just mentioned go to midi prferences and select for input and output the usb interface and thats it! It worked! So after this tweek it does the job.

This unit works well, allowing the player to input any straight guitar sound or already modified, which is nice. It comes with a mini disc to install the driver software. My imac with garageband does not accept mini discs, luckily the imac recognized it and it works. Therefore I cannot load the cool software features it comes with. There are no written instructions or tips, no website for an online manual, the maker assumed everyone can load a mini disc. It would be good for the makers to have a website listed on the box where the users can see a manual, tips, etc. It comes in one of those big clear plastic cards that will last forever in the landfill. It could come in a small paper box. So overall good product for a good price, but message to the manufacturers in ChinaHey guys, it's not 1962 anymoreget rid of the clear plastic, and add some written instructions.

The included mini-disk doesn't seem to have all of its installation files loaded correctly and some components I installed say they're missing other things. After an hour or so of trying to get it to work with my guitar it still does not.

I have a sound card, so I'm probably going to go with a mini-amp to soundcard line-in. That costs more, so ideally if I can get this working it would be a good alternative on a budget -I just don't think this solution will be without its own drawbacks as I'm finding out.

Want Black Guitar to USB Interface Link Cable Audio Adapter for PC/MAC Recording Discount?

The reason I bought this was for recording guitar into my iPad2.

The Apogee Jam interface looked really nice, but $100 is a lot of money.

Especially considering that I had already wasted $40 for the IK iRig adapter, and found it totally useless.

The noise, hiss and feedback of the iRig was driving me crazy.

I already had the $29 camera connection kit, so I thought I'd take a gamble on this to see if it would work through the USB port.

I'm glad to say it does work, it works very well, and sounds light years better than the iRig (and probably most of the headphone plug adapters out there).

This adapter is extremely quiet through the camera connection usb adapter, and has a nice strong clear signal into the iPad.

I only give 4 stars because I can not vouch for the reliability, since it doesn't seem to be the most durable piece of gear I've ever seen. :-)

But then again, I could have bought 4 of these (it was on sale for $8 when I bought) and still be be ahead of what I wasted on the iRig.

I quickly plugged it into my Mac, and it does seem to be recognized as a USB 1.1 44.1kHz/16 bit interface and although I haven't really tested it out there yet, I fully expect it to work there too.

Hopefully this helps.

Oops I almost forgot, a quick edit: This will NOT work with any of the IK Amplitube software for iOS, although it works with everything else I've tried on the iPad.

IK requires that you use the crummy iRig with their software. Too bad, since their software is so much better that the hardware.

I could be wrong but this is possibly the cheapest guitar USB product with analogue to digital capabilities out there, only beaten by the simple 1/4 jack to USB cable. I have two of these units that I have been using for years so I know pretty much most of what you can expect.

First, you get the interface with headphone and guitar in sockets and attached USB cable and a mini disc with Guitar Rig 2 and drivers; both of mine have a blank space where the serial number should be (not good). There is a hi/lo level use low for when your input signal is a bit powerful (when using as a VST in a music writing program to avoid "clipping").

Installation. I have both WinXP home 32bit and Windows7 64bit and it works on both computers. You need to install the drivers first and then the ASIO driver. Unlike other reviewers, I did find all the required software was there. Finally you install Guitar Rig 2 and this is where the problems start. It is no straight-forward matter to get the ASIO drivers and the MIDI ports to all work together and even though I have installed this equipment a few times I still get frustrated getting it up and running what with drivers not taking straight away and the MIDI not seeing the i/p and o/p routing. It is a pain but a bit of messing and it DOES work. Patience and experimenting is the key there is a help file but it is a bit limited. If it works but sounds like a bag of poo then you still have to alter the ASIO samplerate and System Performance settings to FAST.

If you haven't smashed it yet and it works then you are rewarded with a very reasonable audio interface. I have recently begun to feel that some of the guitar signal is lost on the way to the computer so presets without reverb or a lot of presence sound a bit flat. Guitar Rig 2 is a bit dated these days but there are still some good sounds in there. Guitar Rig can be used as a stand-alone effects unit for guitar practice or much more importantly, as a VST (virtual instrument) for use in your fave music writing program like Cukos' Reaper DAW. If you play guitar but have not yet used a program like Guitar Rig as a VST you have missed a world of creativity.

I have written too much so I will sum up.

This unit, for what it is, is a bargain but requires some patience setting up. It will produce some great sounds but not to hi-end studio levels. The Guitar Rig 2 software is excellent and is the full package. You won't find better value than this and for getting your shred fix or trying out new ideas it is just the job, but you will find you want to spend more for a more professional sound if you are a serious musician.

As a part-time, semi-professional musician/performer/producer [you can check out our NOVAkILL CDs here at amazon.com] I have a need for good quality and portability at a reasonable price. For maximum flexibility, I have been using USB audio I/O devices for the past 5 or 6 years, as they allow me to work on my workstation at home or laptop on stage with the same equipment. I was first attracted to Line 6 by the announcement of the KB37 because it looks so incredibly slick and sexy. To see if it could deliver the goods, I got hold of a UX2, which is basically the same as the KB37, without the keyboard. It took me about 5 minutes to realise the potential of this set-up so I got hold of a KB37 as soon as they were available.

HARDWARE The unit feels really solid. The plastic is very heavy-duty and it all seems pretty well put together, although one of my VU meters is slightly crooked. The three-octave keyboard has a good feel and also feels fairly robust. The I/O knobs [chrome] are perhaps a little loose [it is easy to bump them and change their position] where the controller knobs [black] are very stiff until you use them for a while. It is very light-weight and no wider than most two-octave keyboards so it is extremely portable. The footswitch jacks are a real bonus. The audio inputs and outputs are very good, allowing you to get high quality, clean recordings and to monitor everything easily.

DRIVERS Line 6 Monkey makes sure your drivers and other software are always up-to-date so it is a good idea to let the monkey look for the latest versions when you are setting up as the CD that ships is nowhere near current [it doesn't even support the KB37]. Once the Monkey had done it's thing, everything just worked. You use the driver interface to assign controllers and footswitches to different functions. It works really well but is a little hard to get at in a hurry.

SOFTWARE [GEARBOX] This is definitely the best part of the deal. The are plenty of amps, cabinets and other effects available and you can chain them all together to create amazing results. If you are not happy with what you get, you can go on-line and buy even more from Line 6, but I have barely scratched the surface of the bundled options after almost a year. GearBox has very flexible routing you can assign the hardware VU meters to any of a number of things [inputs, outputs, etc]. You can monitor and/or record with or without effects and you can even record your vocals or guitar parts whilst monitoring other instruments through the unit. You can have a single stereo signal path or two unique mono paths. e.g. one set-up for your vocal and a completely separate effect-chain for your guitar at the same time, whilst monitoring your hardware synths through the unit. Because it operates outside the normal Windoze audio system, latency is negligible which makes it great for using live.

IN USE This is where we ran into a few problems at first. The KB37 only transmits on MIDI channel 1 so, because we had been using Channel 8, I had to go through all of our songs and change things to Channel 1. But it was worth it because in every other way, the KB37 delivers for us. It is a great device for recording vocals and synth parts and it is a flexible and handy controller for our sequencer and soft-synths. On stage it is even more impressive as we can use it for live vocal effects without having to run our voices through our sequencer software. With two footswitches attached I can change GearBox presets easily on stage and mute the effects between songs.

SUPPORT Terrible. We had a few problems with the unit when we first started using it and the Line 6 forum was completely useless. After 8 weeks of getting no help from them whatsoever, I eventually discovered that the problem was not with the KB37. If it had been, I doubt it would ever have been solved.

OVERALL This is close to the perfect solution for us. It is robust and portable, simple to use, yet offers incredible sound quality, both for getting clean recordings and from the amazing GearBox software. If the support was better, this would be a 5-star review.

So far I've only use this to record my guitar with GarageBand on my Mac. Works great but download the latest drivers for it through Line 6 and skip the disc it comes with.

It's going to take me a year with some mics to give it a true review; though so far, I'm more satisfied.

I used this for several months without any problems on an AM2 based PC, and after upgrading to a an Intel Based Q6600 Processor P35 Chipset system, I only then realized that the audio drop-out, stuttering is common to Intel chipset (ICH9) Systems :S ...and up to now, there is no solution.

My son had asked for this for Christmas but it was backordered everywhere until after Christmas. I tried to find something comparable but when the salesman at Guitar Center saw that it was also an audio interface he said it was a great deal for the price. Before I gave up I tried Ebay and finally Amazon. I was so happy that not only was it in stock but arrived within two days!

Obviously this is more a review of the site than the product but it does exactly what it says and is the perfect small recording studio equipment.

When I bought this, the software was not compatible (out of date). Contacted line6 and got a very unfriendly rep. Line6 service sucks, and this IS NOT worth the price. Ended up returning it.

The Mic is great. Amazing sound quality. However, the headphones that come with it are no where near as nice as the picture. They are cheap and flimsy, don't get the package.

Just received my Yeti. Absolutely nothing on it, or in the instructions indicate anything about it being THX certified. In fact it doesn't even have the label as in the picture. Until I get a chance to drill a hole in the base I will either have to duct tap the Pop filter onto the mic or not use it since it wont clamp anywhere onto the mic base despite it being from Blue as is the mic. The headphones are wimpy but then they aren't why I was getting the package. The sound seems find though it is cumbersome to unplug the mic to hear what the recordings sound like from the computer. So in short I am a bit disappointed in what arrived compared to what was promised. I guess you can chalk it up to caveat emptor.

My order was shipped without the POP filter and I have been waiting for just about 2 extra weeks now for my POP filter to arrive since they said it was "backordered". In my opinion, DON'T SELL SOMETHING IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE COMPLETE PACKAGE IN STOCK!! The headphones and earbuds look NOTHING like what is pictured! I understand COBY is not the best brand but if you are going to include it, at least make sure it is better than a $7 Newegg item!! The headphones and earbuds pictured are the CV215, NOT the ones you get! Either way, they are junk!

Really awesome Mic, I just got it, and the stereo head phones really work nicely, and so does the filter, freakin awesome!!!. The Mic has an INCREDIBLE sound!!!, satisfies all my recording needs, I'm amazed......there is no way you'll be able to beat the sound on this mic, bundle, anywhere else, I'm serious, buy this Bundle!!, and also, the mic feels sturdy, heavy, quality and everything is just exactly what I wanted!!!

I love this microphone. The only reason I bought this set is I had been looking at the Yeti plus Blue pop filter and the availability of the filter changed from immediate to 2-3 weeks. I saw this set and the price was a little lower than the mic and filter alone, so I went for it.

What I received instead of the Blue Microphones pop filter was an entirely different brand filter (one which is much cheaper and has a large black round filter with a base that attaches to the pole of a mic/light stand or boom arm. It works just fine so I won't bother returning it, but buyer beware you may not receive the products advertised.

I did receive the Yeti microphone as advertised and the headphone set (not that I'll ever use that cheap headphone set it will likely collect dust for a while before finally finding a home in the trash).

As for the microphone itself: GREAT! It produces great sound (I use it for voice) and I can record directly into iMovie or Final Cut Pro X, or I can record in Garage Band using audio effects, save and then import the audio file into iMovie or Final Cut. It required no setup, just plug and play. You can turn the mic on/off using the big mute button right on the front. There is also volume control knob just below the mute button. It has an extra long cord which could be useful for those who don't sit right in front of the computer to record.

All in all, I would purchase this product package again, but if you really want the pop filter from Blue Microphones and not some other brand, be aware that you may have to deal with amazon returns to get the correct filter. I deducted 2 points for receiving the incorrect (cheaper) filter.

I read a review here that the color of their headphones influenced their review......say what?!?!? I have had some wonderful headphones that were great except they were uncomfortable after 30 minutes. I bought these and IMMEDIATELY experienced a lightweight, sturdy, (although plastic it is sturdy....but plastic IS lightweight)crisp sounding headphones. When people say the sound is muddy or the mid range is not good, I would suggest they adjust the equalizer on their device. The adjustable equalizer on a device is there to adjust the different types of output devices. Any headphone cannot make a poorly tuned device sound much better, unless the quality is poor across the range.

Ok. Now for the person that understands that some fine tuning is needed for quality, I marvel at the range of sounds that feel like they are just to the side, behind or ahead of me. A concert sounds like I am sitting in the middle of the instruments. For the price, the positive comments I get from others and the perfect sound, I will keep buying and recommending these for others. These headphones actually will transmit the pressure of the fingers on the strings from a cello or guitar.

A side note: I work with equipment that are constantly setting off sounds and noises that indicate the condition they are in. I listen to the smallest detail to make sure the equipment is in good running condition. I know what good sound is and even the smallest pop would bother me.

I actually bought a pair of these on ebay and have rarely used them. Tested them again today and I will agree the audio quality is very good when the source has an EQ (in my case, Samsung Note using Power Amp app). They appear heavy but are actually pretty lightweight. I compared them to my Go Groove Air Band and noticed more audio detail in the Pros. Only recommendation for others who are not satisfied is make sure your source has an EQ to hear the full benefit of sound from these and other headphones. Final tip: the more you use them, the more your ears get accustomed to the audio production. Sturdy and solid sound for the $$$.

First of all I received the yellow color pair of these headphones so I was already disappointed from the start.

pros:

-long cord

-fairly adjustable

-cost wasn't too much

cons:

-uncomfortable. The whole headphone had a very "plastic" feeling to it

-poorer quality of sound compared to many of the other headphones on the market, namely the Sennheiser HD 202. Even with an amp it sounded weak.

-cord may be a little too long for some people?

-design seems prone to breaking

I am returning these for another pair of 202's

Hi,

I wear my Sansa Clip+ on my bike & motorcycle, as well as hiking, and wanted to secure the cord of the headphones.

This clip works well, it's a bit big, but for my big hands it's great.

Strong spring, good bite with the "teeth" to keep it in place.

The small clip to route the cord through it good as well, I route the 2 small cords coming off the earbuds before they merge into one.

I also bought a smaller one from a different company, but it was too small and difficult to use, this one works much better for my needs.

If you like to keep you headphone cord where you want it, and are tired of it catching on things, this clip works very well, and it's only a few bucks.

peace,

ss

I read reviews here stating that the alligator spring strength was excellent, and that's all I cared about. As far as the cord-holder slippage issue went, it was a non-issue for me because I generally customize things anyway. Besides, I was doubtful that the cord clip would be able to handle the wide gauge of the Grado SR80i -and I was correct. Moreover I didn't want my lines crimped, so even if the clip was adequate I planned on a DIY job that would be kind to my lines.

Simply took two small plastic zip ties -one loop around the cord clip and the second snugly wrapped around the cord after interlacing the first zip tie. Snip off the tails, and now it's a perfectly adequate cord clip for my heavy can cords. If it's not immediately obvious why two zip tie loops were needed, just visualize looping a zip through the cord clip gap pictured in the product photo. the line would only be able to run parallel to the alligator jaws; therefore, a second loop around the first loop and the cord is needed for a line to run perpendicular. Using black zip ties, it's hardly noticeable. Very simple mod -the jaws on this clip are good for thick cords like you'd find on any audiophile-level on-ear or circumaural cans, and the zip tie is just loose enough not to crimp the cord, and yet tight enough to prevent slippage.

After my Plantronics clothing clip failed (after just a month of usage), I thought I'd try this one.

Trust me: It's a complete joke. Not only is it incredibly difficult to squeeze the alligator-style clip open (as there's absolutely nothing to grip on the squeezy-ends, so it keeps slipping out of your finger-tips), but the part that's supposed to hold the headphone cables is WOEFULLY inefficient, and it just lets the wires slide right through.

The clipping portion is ridiculously strong, though! I can't see it coming unsecured at all. BUT WHAT'S THE POINT IF IT DOESN'T SECURE THE HEADPHONE WIRES?

I think I'm upgrading to some bluetooth headphones, as these bouncing headphone wires are driving me nuts on my jog.

I recently purchased new PureGear in-ear headsets with a tangle-free flat cord. Great sounding headset EXCEPT for the cord noisewhen the cord pretty much touches anything, the mechanical noise from the cord will be transmitted to your ears. It is distracting and annoying.

The key to eliminating cord noise is to isolate the cord between your ears and a fixed point (usually an article of clothing) using a clip so that this section of cord won't touch anything. (The cord from the clip to your player/phone won't transmit the noise to your ears.) But flat cords limits the clip choices out there because most clips are designed for round cords. The Audio-Technica AT8439 can accommodate both flat and round cords, has a STRONG clip to attach to a shirt or a thick coat. It takes care of this problem nicely, and is cheap.

If you look a *real* Centro plug, you'll notice it has 4 contacts, and 3 black insulation rings. One contact is the ground, then one each for left & right audio out, and one contact for microphone audio back to the phone. This adapter only has 3 contacts, which means when you plug it in, two of the phone's internal contacts are getting shorted. If this were acceptable, I image Palm would have done that on their adapter, but they didn't. I wouldn't get this adapter anywhere near my phone.

This replacement cable worked just fine for my SE425s, it is identical to the original cable I'm assuming most people reading this are considering buying it for the same reason I dida worn out original cable, probably within the first year of regular use, right.

The good news is this cable is still way better than the other "upgrade" cables you can find on eBay; I wore through several versions of those quite quickly. Note I do not abuse the earphones at all but they do get used on a daily basis so normal wear and tear is to be expected, I really didn't expect to have this many problems with them.

The bad news is this cable will fail again for the same reasons in the same amount of time because of several small design flaws from Shure. 1) while I don't mind it, others might be bothered by the rapid oxidation (green turning) of the cable within a couple months. 2) the sliding rubber cinch still seems to slowly creep loose still, requiring me to reach behind my head and pull it back up snug every 10 or so minutes. I get the feeling that I might utilize this feature more and to a tighter degree than most but it's still worth noting. 3) YES the same random music cut outs when one of the connectors is ever so slightly dirty is still a huge problem. Im willing to deal with it because I love the detachable feature but wish they had designed the connector to provide a better seal against sweat.

All in all I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a replacement Shure cable, don't waste your time with the eBay junk. Either way be ready to buy another one in a year or so, maybe by that point they'll have made them as indestructible as the earphones themselves.

Shure really should offer a version of these without the memory wire, b/c it's annoying when used with my custom-molded sleeves. However, replaceable cables are fantastic and have saved me the hassle of sending my earphones in for warranty service.

But for the love of sound, why isn't this plug case-friendly? It's exceptionally annoying that I can't use these with an iPhone in a case.
