I used this to hook up my computer speakers to my 40-in Sony Bravia TV, which only had RCA output audio jacks for an external audio source.

Solution: Buy this handy-dandy converter, and I was able to instantly use my computer speakers. Of course, I wouldn't recommend using CHEAP computer speakers, as in, computer speakers that use the power from the computer to power them. That would probably break your TV. Mine were a bit nicer, and had a small subwoofer and had to have it's own power source (ie. a Power cable)

The only problem is that this TV is unlike my old one, which had the capability to have computer speakers hook directly into one of the 'audio outputs' on the back of the TV, so I could control the volume using the TV remote. On this TV (and many others, I assume), by using this converter, my TV thinks that the audio is a separate device with it's own remote.

Downside: I have to get up every time I want to turn up/down the TV. Eh, it's not that bad, considering I play movies/tv shows using my Phillips DivX dvd player. And for those that don't know what DivX is you had better get a word-a-day calendar or something because it is well worth the money.

---------------------------

UPDATE 6/4/2010 Product has been going strong for the past couple years. I have started to notice a low 'humming' coming from my speakers, but then again my Logitech speakers are now over 5 years old, so what can you expect?? I hooked them up to my digital piano and the humming was still present, so I know that it is my speakers and not the converter. I stand by my review I made over a year ago: get this if you want a simple way to connect your computer speakers to your TV!

---------------------------

UPDATE 6/17/2011 Product still going strong. I still use the same speakers, and I believe it is my TV itself that is producing the low-pitched 'humming' when the TV is on but the cable box isn't. It is not the fault of this product, at all. I also bought a female-to-female extension cord so I can play movies straight from my laptop to the TV (and connect the computer speakers to it while still keeping it behind the TV).

---------------------------

LAST AND FINAL UPDATE 9/17/2012 Wow, first, thank you for all the Helpful Votes! When I first bought this, I had no idea if it would even work, and there was only one-or-two other reviews. Now with over 300 reviews, I think I should e-mail someone and get a discount next time for all of these potential customers I brought in!

The product has survived two moves (cross-state, too), being stomped on, and I caught my cat playing with it too one time, during the move. In either case, I should amend my review to say that it DOES give me super powers: it allows me to use computer speakers to connect to an RCA male output. I still have the same setup, my 40" Sony Bravia TV with my older-than-dirt Logitech speakers. Whenever friends come to visit, they ask why my sound is so much better than theirs (because they are using just the TV speakers in the flat-panel TV, which have no speaker cone...). I just point them towards this little product.

If mine ever breaks, I will come back and update again, but I think this review speaks for itself: I still have the exact same one I bought four years ago! And finally, please, don't forget to mark this as "helpful" if you thought it was! Thanks everyone! :)

This is a great adapter as it allows me to use regular "Walkman" headphones to listen to a television. I use an extension cord between this adapter and my headphones to listen to tv while on my treadmill. Perfect.

I wanted to play games quietly but my tv didn't have a headphone jack. So I bought these to get around that problem and they work very well. One problem though is that it exchanges my left earphone for my right, but I just switch the colors around (red in white and white in red).

Some helpful advice:

1. Your tv has to have red and white "audio out" ports (usually in the back)

2. Like me, you may need a headphone extension cord. My headphones are a little short so my face is 2 feet away from the tv screen.

3. Many of you may run into a little problem where sound is coming from both the headphones and the tv which kinda defeats the purpose of the headphones. My solution was to turn the tv sound all the way down while the headphones were still plugged in. For some reason the sound for the tv speakers go down but not the headphones.

Hope that helps.

Don't waste your money or your time buying these probable factory seconds, defective crap.

I bought three, and all three were defective.

Amazon got the seller to refund my money.

The shipping and handling charges amounted to many times the junk value of these cables.

I would be willing to bet the seller knew this too, and figured that most buyers would just throw them away, and move on.

I ended up going to Radio Shack.

Live and learn I guess.

The product I received was dead out of the box. I bought it as a second microphone for a Karaoke Machine that was purchased as a Christmas Gift in December 2008. Unfortunately, the microphone does not work. I have an old XLR microphone that I plugged in just for funit worked so I know the cable and connection to the Karaoke Machine are good. Although it's a low cost, the cost of shipping it back to get it replaced, as well as two dissapointed kids, far outweighs the low price.

I had purchased this particular Nady American Microphone a couple of wks ago for the purpose of using it to record some vocals for one of musical projects. At first, I will be honest, I was a little hasitant to buy it because of the price. But with a deadline to submit this musical project, I decided to buy it.

I was pleasantly surpised after a recorded vocals using this track with an ACID PRO track that I composed. The vocals with the exception of a little noise (nothing that a noise reduction software cannot fix), the vocals turned out smooth.

I recommend this microphone for the musician and the singer who are looking for a high quality microphone without the high price. Now, I will be honest. No matter what microphone you buy, it is very important that you have the right sound card or otherwise, you will have a lot of background noise no matter what high quality microphone you purchase.

When I was shopping for a keyboard, originally I was in the market for a MIDI controller, not a keyboard/workstation type device. I was looking for something that transmitted data only, both via USB and MIDI output, preferably with 76 or 88 keys. Having checked out several boards in this price range, I found most to be spartan and light on features. However, on a whim, I checked out the Casio WK 200, and I was very impressed by the sounds and features, especially in this price range.

I've been a musician for the last 20 years, so my immediate perception of Casio keyboards (and pretty much any stand-alone keyboard in this price range) was that they were fully-featured kid's toys. To my credit, I started playing when the electronic keyboard was no longer a synth, but not quite a workstation. In those in-between days, the quality of sound and features was seriously lacking, so much that pretty much anything with built-in speakers could be safely written off as junk, and you wouldn't even dream of using it live or in the studio.

Anyway, after making up my mind that all I needed was a board that would interface with my soft synths, I started checking out MIDI controllers. However, the lack of significant features in this price range left me somewhat unimpressed. After branching out to workstations in this price range, I found the WK-200 met my immediate feature requirements: MIDI via USB and at least 76 keys. The rest turned out to be just gravy, because this board has a few key features that really set it apart from MIDI controllers.

Firstly, I'll describe the sounds on board. The pianos are beautiful, full of character and very believable. This includes several Rhodes and Clavinet voices, with all of their pearly harshness when a full-velocity strike is performed. The chromatic percussion sets are good too, full of very musical timbres. The guitar and bass guitar sections are passable, along with the strings and brass, although there are a few stand-outs, most notably the upright bass along with the tenor and alto saxes. Beyond that, there are some decent sounding rhythms and drum sounds, but I use software to simulate drums, so this was not immediately useful to me. The "string ensemble" voices were the only thing I found to be lousy. Perhaps it's just my ear, but nothing sounds worse or more fake than that generic "string ensemble" sound, and I'll hold that against the WK 200 the exact same way I'd hold it against a Yamaha Motif. Don't get me wrong, the Motif is amazing, but I just hate the sound of "string ensembles". The brass ensembles suffer in like fashion, to a lesser extent.

As mentioned before, there were a few key features that set this board apart from a dumb MIDI controller, and one of those features is the sampling abilities of this board. This board supports numerous slots for melodic and rhythm-based samples, a feature you wouldn't even dream of finding on most MIDI controllers without even considering price points. Samples are of reasonable audio quality with 10 seconds of sample time, making this perfect for, say, accurately simulating the 8-second reel of tape on a Mellotron (each key having a tape consisting of an 8-second pre-recorded voice, which I guess would make it a very primitive example of a sampler). In any case, the sampler was a huge bonus. In addition to that, the USB MIDI functionality allows for two-way MIDI traffic, meaning you can use software to trigger the sounds on the board for cool arpeggiated effects. Speaking of, the WK 200 features a limited arpeggiator, again something you wouldn't find on a MIDI controller in this price range.

So to add it all up, factoring in the length of the board, the MIDI connectivity, the good-to-awesome soundset (at least for the bread-and-butter sounds), sampling functionality, and overall aesthetics, the WK-200 was an obvious choice for me. Even the built-in speakers are good, with strong bass response and crisp, clear highs. The board is light, the keys are full piano style (synth action though, not weighted) and the board is just a pleasure to play.

There are a few things that were not included on my ideal wish list, not the least of which a power supply, which has to be bought separately. That struck me as kind of stupid. Also, there are no pitch or mod wheels, so no joy there. I would have liked to have some kind of SD slot for expansion and data transfer, but that's not a deal-breaker for me. The one thing I seriously fault Casio for on this board is the LACK OF STANDARD MIDI INPUT/OUTPUT. All of it is done via USB, and there's not a standard MIDI jack to be seen on this board. I have keyboards that are 25 years old that have MIDI in and out. What gives?

Anyway, for the price, you can't beat this board. Don't let the fact that it's a Casio or that it's a budget-priced workstation deter you from hearing this board out. You may find it's a good fit for your studio or live sets. While this board is nice, it's not as solid as my old-school Casio CZ-5000 synthesizer (we're talking their top-of-the-line from 1985), but as they say, they don't make 'em like they used to. In any case, this keyboard is a great addition to my studio, and I'm very satisfied.

I just wanted to add my voice to the issue of the clicking keys. I have had my keyboard now for a few months. At first I did not have a problem; then after a few weeks I had a few clicking keys, and now after a few months I have seven or eight. It seems like the keys which get used the most develop this problem the fastest. It is annoying, but I can live with it seeing that the keyboard was so inexpensive. Everything else about this keyboard is wonderful. (Do make sure to get yourself a quality pedal for sustain. The one from MGear is great.) The easy to view electronic fingering display is the best tool I've ever come across to aid in teaching oneself how to play certain songs. There is a nice bank of songs in the memory, and by following the display, slowing the songs down, and pausing them along the way, you can teach yourself how to play one in a few days to a week. The best thing of all is that it shows you where to place your fingers. I now see that the correct fingering is critical in being able to reach for the right notes and allow the notes to flow easily.

I played piano on my family's old baby grand piano all my life and then I went off to college where I had no piano. I finally asked for one for my birthday and this is what my family chose for me. The sound is GREAT (the 5 main piano tones are very nice, I love 002), the keyboards have a very nice weight to them that makes them feel like a real piano (not something cheap and plasticy).

Some accessories I'd recommend for any buyers:

Headphones-This keyboard can go really loud and if you're around others, you may want to consider headphones so you can enjoy all the sound :) If you use regular stereo-mini phones (like iPod jacks), you will need a Stereo Mini Jack (1/8") to Stereo Standard Plug (1/4").

Pedal-This is an M-Audio keyboard so it works with just about any pedal but I really love this one:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00063678K

It has a very realistic feel to it; much better than those cheap plastic ones that you get from the manufacturer

Over all a great keyboard, I couldn't be happier!

I had shown my girlfriend a simple electric piano I was thinking of getting. For Xmas she got me the Casio WK-200. It has a great touch, and sounds great plugged directly into the PA mixer. I'm still learning (after decades of just being a flute player, plus a very little bit of sax), and I'm glad the default setting is grand piano. This beautiful beast can make more sounds than I'll ever even need to learn to use. It will be nice to have them available, though, further down the road. EZ

I have to laugh at the reviewers who are negatively comparing this piano to a professional grand that was used in a studio recording, or even keyboards that are priced in the $500-$1000 range. Get real! This is a 76-key instrument with the richest sound you can find for $200. It's more than adequate for a beginner to learn on, and there's no reason you couldn't use this in (at least) a semi-pro studio environment. The built-in tones are fine for practice and some of them are surprisingly good, and as a MIDI controller for virtual instruments it does everything I need.

The LCD display is quite good -every note you play gets displayed on the screen, both the physical key location and its position on the staff. There are excellent built-in lessons for newcomers, endless tones and rhythms to play with, and an array of ins and outs (headphone, mic, mp3 & USB to computer for two-way midi transmission).

Included in the box are an AC adaptor, music holder AND a pair of sheet music books. A very satisfying purchase, worth every penny.

I don't know why this has such a weak rating. I am a musician thats on the road once in awhile. I use this to warm up real quick before going out, or if I'm writing music and want to hear something other than the strings ringing when I'm by the computer. This has really helped me with alot of stuff. It's not a amp to buy if you wanna use it like you're primary amp. It's just a little toy to warm up on or carry around with you when you need it. Like if you where to go on vacation and wanna play real quick it's there. The sound isn't too bad for a 1 watt amp. I personally love this little amp. It's well worth $40.00 bucks in my opinion.

Buy Marshall MS2 Micro Amp Now

Ok. This is not an amplifier to play Madison Square Garden with. It is perfect to warm up with, or to use (as I do) in audition situations in studio rooms for film and musical theater.

I find it surprisingly loud for its small size, and have had no problem with the battery staying put. However, it does (the battery) run out a bit quickly.

Again, this is a great convenience to pop in a duffle bag and use to warm up with, audition with (for theater/film)and practice on, if you live in say, an apartment and can't blow down the house with noise. I still have to tone the volume down in my place in NYC.

If you really expect more than that for forty bucks, well....You get what I mean.

My son loves having this micro amp. It is so easy to carry with him when bringing his guitar to school or to a friend's house and he doesn't need the full size amp. The amp performs great in these situations and is perfect for his needs.

I was really excited for this product and was hoping to be wowed by its tiny performance. Unfortunately, that was not the case as the unit I received was obviously defective. Out of the box it comes with a plastic wrap 9v in the battery compartment, so I unwrapped it plugged in the input, and there was no sound. Bummer, but no biggy. Maybe the battery was crap, so I went and got a different battery. Nope still no sound. So hoping that it was just the battery connection I found a 9v dc cord (doesn't come with one) and plugged it in. POP! Smoke starts pouring out of the thing! Don't know what blew, but I knew the thing was shot 5 seconds after opening it.

(Updated Review) Getting a replacement from Amazon was amazingly easy (seriously, if you have never experienced it, its great!) and I am very happy I opted for the replacement instead of the money back, because this little gem is great! straight out of the box, with the included battery, it performed admirably. Not only does it do a solid job, but it just looks totally cool. Great for musicians on-the-go, or as just a fantastic way to playback music.

I bought this amp to keep in my room for practicing. It sounded good for a week. After that I started to get a fuzzing sound whenever I played. When I played the high e string on my guitar it would sound like a low e. the battery does not even fit in the back. I came up with the idea to fold a piece of paper and put on top of the battery before I closed the lid to keep it from moving. It worked but I still had to adjust it every time I turned it on. I highly do not recommend this amp.

This little amp is your basic home practice combo amp. It has your CD input and all the distortion and clean controls. The distortion is not great, but the clean is excellent. However, if you want to get the most out of your amp, plug in your headphones. The amp works wonders on that aspect. Everything you play from clean to distortion sounds pretty good to excellent. It's not the best amp in the world, but it does what it does. If you're a beginning guitarist, like myself, this will fit the bill fine for a couple of years or so -until you get a real tube amp or a higher watt amp with "professional" features.

For the longest time I had a small Peavey practice amp which served me well for almost ten years before it died a natural death. I then started looking for a suitable replacement and I came across this Crate which after more than a year of use has done more than what I was expecting from an amp this price and this size. The clean tone sounds great and while the amp distortion isn't the best that I've heard it is still acceptable. I usually use this amp with the clean tone attached to my Muff distortion pedal plus tuner and compressor and/or analog delay. The sound is steady and so far after more than a year I cannot find anything to really complain about for what I use it for. I don't use the cd/mp3 connecting function and when I tried it out on my Creative Nuvo a few months back it didn't work that well but as this is not a critical feature for me I'm not too upset about this.

For what it does and for the price it retails for this surprisingly good amp comes highly recommended.

It is what I expected. What more can you ask? It's actually much lighter in weight than the crate amps I had twenty years ago. Excellent clean channel. Dirty channel is not as crisp as higher priced amps, but it's much better than I thought a $75 amp should be.

I've used Shure E2C's for about 5 years (2 or 3 pairs). My most recent pair finally started wearing through the wire coating, and I have too much pride to just electrical tape them (not to mention there are dozens of holes in the insulation). I should note that purchased the clear version of these earphones, but am posting where most of the reviews have already been made.

So I decided it was time to replace the E2C's and wanted to see what my options were. I looked at the Shure SE110's and SE210's, but didn't find many favorable reviews (especially when juxtaposed with the E2C's). I peaked around at other brands but decided I've been too happy with Shure to risk it.

I settled on the SCL2's, assuming they were somehow better than the E2C's, given they are the "Pro" version of the same phones.

My initial reaction is that the sound is more homogenized than the E2C's. I don't feel like I'm listening to the band play live, I feel like I'm listening to them in The Matrix. The sounds feels more synthetic and less real. Given that I've used the E2C's for years, I confident the fit is not the issue; my ears know where they are supposed to fit.

I have read that there is a break-in period for these earphones; I tend to believe that as I've seen break-in periods on all types of speakers (car, home, computer, etc.) I'm 3 weeks in today, and I just hope this break-in doesn't take much longer.

All in all, the phones are very good. After listening for about 30 minutes, I don't really notice the sound being odd. If there is a lack of anything, I would say its treble, as I've had to play with the EQ a bit to get the highs where they should be.

If I had the choice, I'd probably move back to the E2C's. I'm still confident though that these SCL2's will break in.

That's my review for now. I'll do my best to come back and update this in a couple months, hopefully after the break-in.

>>>> UPDATE (6/4/08): Sure enough, the break-in did wonders for the sound quality of these headphones. I would now say these are at least as good as the E2C's, and I would buy these again without hesitation.

Another note is that the cord on these phones seems much more durable and flexible than the E2C's.

>>>> UPDATE (10/26/08): They finally cracked like all of my E2C's have done. Given these headphones are used every day of the week for nearly 12 hours each day (no joke), they were bound to let go sooner or later. The crack showed up an inch from the left earphone, and over a week's time, it split open and exposed wires. As I write this, the earphones are in route to Shure's Service Dept. to be replaced (in all likelihood).

I'm not looking forward to another month-long break-in period, but I am looking forward to getting another new set of these phones. Despite the recurring theme of Shure's products (cracks in the rubber), I will continue to buy and *LOVE* their products for the sound quality. I would rate this item FIVE STARS after 7 months of use.

>>>> UPDATE (11/1/08): Shure replaced the cracked earphones at no charge. Being impatient as I am, the wait seemed like ages (in reality, it took about 14 days from the day I shipped the old earphones to the day I received the new ones).

I *think* the cord on the new earphones is just a bit shorter, or my old cord had stretched out a bit. Also, the break-in period didn't take nearly as long as the first time. After about a week with these new earphones, I would venture to say they are about as broken-in as my previous pair were in 3 months. Sweet!

>>>> UPDATE (2/18/09): The cord near the ears is definitely starting to get brittle, and I suspect that within a couple months there will be cracks. I really thought this pair would avoid this common problem with Shure earphones!

>>>> UPDATE (6/17/09): Amazingly, still going strong with these earphones. The cord near the ears is definitely stiff and I would hate to try bending it, but luckily its formed in the shape I need. See the comments on my review for a great suggestion on repairing the cord if it cracks.

>>>> UPDATE (10/13/09): Was forced to send in these earphones for service. The left earphone was playing at about 70% of its normal volume (and subsequently giving me weird vertigo). Shure took about 2 weeks to send a brand new pair. The new pair broke in as expected and I'm enjoying having a new set!

All in all, I'd say these are probably the best Shure earphones I've owned and I'm very pleased with the sound quality these days (audiophiles rejoice!)

Buy Shure SCL2 Sound Isolating Earphones with Single Dynamic Driver, Black Now

In response to the reviewers who complain about lack of bass and low sound quality you haven't put them in your ears correctly. This type of earphone demands a good fit. That is, they must be lodged in your ear canal, making a seal. This takes some practice and trying out the various sizes and types of included tips, but the results are worth it. The sound quality is excellent and external ambient noise is strongly attenuated.

The Shure SCL2 is the next incarnation of the E2/E2c. The only difference I notice is that the wires are softer and more flexible, which helps keep the drivers in your ears the rigid wires of the E2/E2c had a tendency to pull them out. The reviews on Amazon for the E2 and E2c (which, by the way, are the same product) generally apply to the SCL2 as well.

These are great. When I got my first MP3 I did a lot of research. Bottom line, no matter what player you get, throw away the earphones and get quality. Shure was the one most recommended by those in the know. You must get a seal in your ear to get "bass" and when you do... you do get bass. The sound is amazing, super, clear, full bass. You need to play with the various ear peices. A lot of people like the foam, I prefer the black rubber pieces. Here is the best part. They are guaranteed for two years. Not figuring mine would ever go bad I did not save the sales receipt. One day 2 1/2 years later I got one ear-phone wet, so it quit. I put the earphones in an envelope, wrote that I had been a user of Shure since my hippy days, and that I did not bother to save the receipt. I wrote that if they could help me great, if not, throw them away. Two weeks later, without a question, they sent me a new set of earphones free. Now that is a great company. One more thing. If you use the foam, wet them a little first. One day on the treadmill at the gym I got an insight...wet them with a little syliva first. Wow!!!! perfect, perfect fit. What a difference.

This is one company that got the product and the follow-up support right.

I had a pair of E2C's that sounded great for under $100 earphones. I used them so much that the wire began to fray after about a year (even with the thick wire covering). While I had them for a year (standard electronics product warranty duration) I sent them back to Shure along with a photocopy of my original receipt and they simply sent me a new pair of SCL2's, no questions asked. The SCL2 is the new version of the E2C's. There is an automatic 2 year warranty on all Shure products. You don't have to register, purchase a warranty extension; you just get it for buying their product. Nice.

When I first tried out these earphones, there was no low end at all...they sounded worse than the stock iPod ear buds. Then I switched from the clear PVC sleeves to the soft black rubber. What a difference. The sound had a nice full range and is very warm. The rubber sleeves fit so well that when removing them I had to break the air tight seal first (be careful of that pull them out nice and easy). Once sealed in your ears, these earphones block out most ambient noise, which allows you to listen to music at a much lower volume.

These are definitely the best earphones I have used. The big over the ear headphones can sound better, but if you want an small earphone, these sound pretty good.

Product did exactly as advertised.... has a good sound and picks up well. I only wish the headword part was a little more bendable...

I ordered this as a replacement for the one we have. I have given the operators a lesson in the care and feeding of the wires that go into the connector and how fragile they can be if bent many times when stored between services. The unit works perfectly for or minister and the service.

I didn't buy mine off of Amazon, I bought them at Wal-Mart, but I thought I should go ahead and share my opinion.

I've had these for awhile now, at least a year and a half and they've been amazing! the only downside is the thing used to adjust the individual earbud cord length stripped the rubber covering off, but it didn't ruin the sound quality at all.(I just used electrical tape and to cover up the exposed wire. So far,a year later, still going strong) That's the only reason why it's getting four stars instead it of five. And it was most likely my fault. But everything else is amazing.

The last few earbuds I went through before these broke after a few months. These have lasted a long time and I have not been going easy on them. I'm rough with my headphones and I'm surprised these have lasted as long as they have for the price I bought them at. The sound quality is still amazing. I had to turned down the bass because it was a little too much. Not to mention awesome at noise-cancelling. People have to call my name several times before I finally hear them.

If you're just looking for good quality ear buds but don't want to spend an enormous amount of money, get these. They are amazing!

I bought these because I misplaced my iphone earbuds...which I loved. So I purchased these as a replacement and boy can I tell the difference in sound quality. I am a typical girl...I do not care about HDTV, I don't notice or usually care about sound quality...yet this was unmistakably horrid. I made a phone call to try them out, the voice on the other side sounded tinny...then I used the remote to increase the volume and instead it hung up on my caller and started playing my saved mp3. Did not realize this did not have a volume adjustment option. The song is very acoustic yet with this pair it sounded too treble, it made me cringe. I plan to return them ASAP.

I've had these headphones for a few days and they are honestly just okay. They come with replaceable ear tips but they don't range in size. The ear tips are relatively large and I wish they would have packed smaller ones. The sound quality is decent. If you click the microphone it will automatically start playing music (the most recently played song). I noticed with my phone (Motorola Atrix 2) it started playing a song automatically without me pressing anything. It doesn't happen every time and this is the first time I've encountered this happening with other headphones. Some pros are the color variants. I got the hot pink and the color is just what I expected... nice and bright! All in all they are decent for the price. I haven't had them long enough to see about durability and how they fair down a few month's stretch, but we shall see!

I ordered these for my mom because she likes listening to her iPod while she walks and I was a little worried about sound quality. I'm really impressed with the sound though, I'll probably get some for myself too.

The sound on these is great, but I've had two different instances where one of the cords gave out. One time I thought it was my handling of it, but I got fooled twice because I bought another pair and the same thing happened. As a basshead I love the sound, but they need a better, more durable cord.
