I bought this Hosa cable after buying a much cheaper unbranded cable. The unbranded cable had a terrible loud buzz whilst plugged in (although the buzzing did go away after a sound source was plugged in). This cable, on the other hand, was excellent acoustically there was no buzzing at all, and sound quality seems really good.

Furthermore, I stripped apart the cable for a project. Don't let thickness of other wires fool you. Although both the unbranded cable and the Hosa cable were of a very good thickness, the Hosa cable consists of two approx 23-25 AWG wires inside (left and right signals), with generous wire "shielding" for the ground. Very good.

The unbranded cable consisted of 3 thin wires inside (thinner than Hosa's L/R wires) so the unbranded cable was actually a cheap unshielded, with just a thick rubber coating to make it look more expensive since it's the amount of copper in these cables that's expensive, not the rubber.

I have an onkyo 5.1 receiver that has a 1/4 headphone jack on it. I have a polk audio surround sound system. I wanted to use the headphone jack on my receiver so I wouldn't disturb anyone late at night if I wanna watch a movie or play xbox 360. I was going to buy a new pair of headphones that have a 1/4 plug, but I was really against it because I have a pair of the bose quiet comfort 15 headphones, and any $40 headphones wouldn't sound as good as my bose headphones. I'm not a fan of bose speakers, but my headphones sound good to me, and I got them for christmas anyway so I didn't pay for them. I looked at some other adapters on amazon, but many just have the plug and not an extension cord as well. This adapter is awesome!!! The 25 foot length is more than enough for me. I can sit where I usually sit to watch movies and play games and I have way more than enough cord. My bose headphones easily plug into the adapter and there is a nice click sound when they're connected. The connection is firm and secure; it's not flimsy at all. Its a very good, solid connection. I honestly can't tell a difference in sound quality either. I usually listen to 5.1 surround sound when Im playing games or watching movies, but when the headphones are plugged in, my receiver automatically goes to 2 channel stero mode. Obviously 5.1 surround sounds better than 2 channel stereo, but I can't tell the difference between the other stereo content I listen to. The sound is as good as if I'm listening to my ipod. This adapter was the perfect solution! Now I can watch movies and play games whenever I want and I won't have to worry about disturbing anyone else. Great product! Great shipping! Don't hesitate to buy this!

If you need a solid DAC for converting an optical digital audio signal to RCA or RCA to optical, this is a nice unit at a good price.

I did some research into DAC chips. This unit contains a very good DAC chip. Having said that, I ran the audio signal from different devices through my Sony HDTV (2010 basic model) via an HDMI cable. The Sony HDTV has a DAC in it too and RCA outs (analog out is increasingly rare on HDTVs). I was able to compare audio quality running the audio through the HDMI via the HDTV DAC to RCA and then to an amp AND from different devices directly with optical (Toslink) to this DAC, and then RCA to the amp. The speakers were Magnepan MMGs. All digital audio signals that had Dolby Digital were reduced to two channel stereo in various device settings or were that way to begin with. (If your device cannot change to two channel, all you hear is noise. Some HDTVs with only optical out might not be able to turn Dolby Digital off.

For Blueray/DVD, Pandora (via Roku XR optical out), iTunes music I bought directly from Amazon as MPEGS, and Netflix, I could not discern any difference from the FiiO D3 DAC compared to audio processed through my Sony HDTV (DAC in it unknown). I think this is in part less to do with the DAC but simply that these devices and recordings are not technically complex enough to push even a basic DAC like this. What you put in is what will come out, in this case. BTW: the Roku DAC is quite good too IMHO. Better than the Sony built in DAC. On the XR, it has RCA out on the back. I use that direct to the amp for all Roku audio.

However, when I played audio CDs (Jane Monheit, Never Never Land) I converted to Apple Lossless in iTunes sent over WiFi to an Apple TV 2 to this DAC to my amp, the audio was better. I could also hear the tape hiss on older digital conversions of classic jazz albums I own on CD (Oscar Peterson, Night Train). I would assume, in this case, hearing hiss is a good thing as it shows you that the DAC is capturing the full recording.

I also owned an MCM 24Bit/96K D/A converter which uses the Burr-Brown DAC. The MCM is supposed to be the best low cost DACs out there. But, frankly, unless you are an audiophile, save your money. This FiiO DAC is fine especially for the PRICE.

All testing was done with direct amplification. No equalization or base/treble modification.

Clarification: It was not ACC it was Apple Lossless I used! My mistake... Hopefully the audiophiles who freaked out will now calm down (except for the CD fanatics).

Hi. Just received this converter. Glad I found it before buying any other one. It has a superior look and finish compared to other similar products. On paper, 24bit/192KHz operation, snr >90dB at only $30, this is unbeatable specs/price ratio. I don't think there is any better product for that price over there.

I have just checked all my sound sources with it (Media Center PC audio sources, Blu-Ray movies, etc, Cable Box) from a LG LED TV optical out to stereo wireless headphones, and everything runs ok. I know it does not decode Dolby so I had previously configured my digital sources to PCM, stereo or whatever option was available.

LG, as well as other TV manufacturers, for any obscure reason, they seem to have decided not to provide RCA stereo outputs anymore. Furthermore my TV has a minijack for headphones on rear panel that mutes the TV speakers as soon as you plug or leave something plugged into it. They must think they are so 'intelligent' those TV chip designers that they decide for me what do I have to hear and how. So now, many people including myself, is forced to search for a solution if their stupid decisions do not suit our needs, and I ended up looking for audio converters.

The device looks pretty well finished, exactly as you expect from the pictures or even better, very nice. I have not noticed any kind of background noise as other reviewers post for similar products, neither with nor whitout TV sound.

The only thing where you notice the typical 'Made in China' quality perception is by reading its poorly written tiny User Manual, but on the positive side, you can get some laughs with it as well.

It is too early to tell about reliability. Other similar devices seems to die after certain periods of use, as reviewers say. We'll see. I will update this review if I encounter any problem.

This is an amazing DAC for the price. And for sure will suit 99.9% of the people out there.

However, the 192/24 mode seems broken. Whenever I switch to 192/24 the output becomes static and/or some ticking noise that just makes it hard to listen to.

All other formats play perfectly!

As I read around there are similar cases so be warned that this unit may not work with 192/24 even though they advertised it.

Like many, i use an airport express to feed my 2 channel system, which uses the same cirrus 4344 chip as the d3. I doubted seriously the possibilty of audible differences between the two, so I took to the web searching for any direct comparison of sound quality between the two, and finding none. Curiosity, however, finally got the better of me and I purchased the D3, its incredibly low price helping to rationalize my actions. After inserting it into my setup, i could tell first track that the AE had met its match, and havent looked back since. To quote my wife "it just sounds better" and I agree, it does.

The product is a bit better quality than I expected. The case and connections seem well made. It is not a flaw of the product that it doesn't work to connect my 50" LG plasma to my vintage 2-channel analog stereo. This product will convert a 2-channel stereo digital signal to a 2-channel stereo analog signal. My TV has no option to send a 2-channel signal out through the optical. It only sends a multi-channel (left, right, center, surround) signal. This product can't convert that to stereo (left, right only), so it only produces static. If your audio source has the option to send stereo to the optical out, this is the product for you. If your TV/bluray player/etc. can't do that, I recommend the GefenTV Digital Audio Decoder as the most reasonable alternative. It's more expensive, but that is largely because it has the more expensive converter from Dolby.

I thought this was going to be a Pod with built in pedals, but it's missing a lot of key features. It has a lot fewer amp sims, no tube pre sim, fewer effects, no speaker emulation, only 1/4" outputs, and worst of all, no computer connection to enable you to edit parameters and upload them to the unit. The unit is light and compact and sounds decent, but it doesn't seem worth it to me. For only a couple hundred more you can get the POD XT Live or a Pod XT with an extra Footswitch. The difference is well worth the extra cash in my opinion. The Floor Pod can do about 10% of what the regular Pod can.

I consider the pod a necessity for every musician.

This pedal isn't quite a BOSS, or others more expensive, but it's really incredible for the price. You can jam at home, and even get away with playing live. For the money, you can't beat this deal.

A nice toy to keep any guitarist busy for hours. So many sounds to choose from to find that perfect sound.

This is a nice looking board, it does not seem cheap at all. I bought it to replace my pedals for a more ergonomic solution, and Line6 has good products.

However, the sound of the effects is VERY artificial, soon I got tired of it, sold it and went back to my old analog pedals. Hell yeah, analog never dies!

I got the Line 6 FloorPOD for Christmas just about seven months ago with a Luna electric. For it being my first effects board, I find it very fun to play with. It gives a variety of sounds and has a lot to offer the BEGINNING guitarist.

However, I would not recommend this board for an advanced player. I would lean more toward the Boss pedals or going with single effects pedals. Also, when using the Wah effect, the volume seems to increase on certain channels. Furthermore, when the Volume pedal is engaged and it is taken all the way down to turn volume off, I can still hear my guitar unless I turn the Volume knob of the guitar off.

Overall, I am pleased with my FloorPOD. I can plug it into a sound system direct with no problems. I have also used an acoustic-electric with it on the red LED channel and some reverb and it sounded just as good to me. I used it in a medium sized church of about 200-250 people and had PLENTY of volume and effects in reserve based on the church building and congregation. Overall, a very decent effects board.

I recently purchased my keyboard and I'm truly enjoying it. It has many features which I haven't learned how to use as yet, but so far it's been wonderful. I'm a person that has been involved with music since I was a child (an old harmonica player) although, not a musician nor music reader, and I'm enjoying the accompany features in particular. I've read reviews about keyboards during my search for the one I wanted, and I found them to be off the beaten track. The price of these keyboards, and in particular the WK500, gives you much more than you have a right to expect. I'm very satisfied and will surely do future business with Amazon.com.

My family was very impressed with this keyboard as soon as we pulled it out of the box. Nice, sturdy keys not cheap feeling like some of the other low-end keyboards that we tried. Not to say this one is low end it's priced that way but the quality is a cut above. Bought it for my son to learn piano at school and it has served him very well.

Don't expect much from the headphones though. They are very cheap and broke within a couple of days of getting them. The software that comes with the keyboard is very impressive though. You can plug the keyboard into the computer via a USB cable and get personal tutoring on how to play piano. What a bonus!

I think you'll be very happy if you purchase this keyboard. My wife researched for hours reading reviews on Amazon and other sites before picking this one and we're extremely happy with the purchase.

I have learned to play the piano many years ago on a real piano. Let's make something clear this is nothing like that.

Now, if you understand that at this price you will not get a keyboard that even attempts to emulate the feel of the real piano keys, this bundle is actually has a lot to go for it.

There are tons of electronic features, so if (like myself) want to learn them and just toy around, this is a good hardware for that. Has USB midi to connect to your computer, has the power supply included, has connector for a pedal everything you might need.

The bundled stand, while basic, is solid and stable.

The headphone is POS, but you probably have something nice and if not, let's face it, you will have to spend some money to get one that is not horrible.

There is a teaching software bundled, which is up to date version (!), but only contains the first third of the whole program, so as usual it is more of an introduction than an actual course. Again, try and if you like it, buy it.

I paid $135 at amazon and for THAT money I think this is a great bundle to dip your toes into the water, try to play around with a keyboard. And if you get hooked, you can later spend some real money on keyboard with better mechanics. (My understanding is that keyboards with serious mechanics are $500 and up, usually more like $900. Also to play classics you will probably need an 88 key keyboard, but that would take up more room, so go for that once you are sure you really want to have and will use a keyboard. This is good for a starter set.)

BTW, if you learned playing on this type of keyboards, than even the mechanics might be good for you, it is OK, not great for me. Yes, it is a bit 'noisy', i.e. it clicks as you play the keys, but again you have to accept that at this price. (Of course, if you are offered this at $250, you might look at the alternatives.)

The surface striking area is large enough. The microphone clip could be more sensitive. Nice to be able to have two different percussion sounds at the same time. One sound on the pad and a different sound on the clip. I plugged it into a micro guitar amp because the internal volume is not very loud.

Buy Korg WDMINI WaveDrum Percussion Synthesizer Now

The original Korg Wavedrum was a quick success in 1994 for it's unique design and sounds (designed by a father specifically to help his musically challenged son). Sonically richer and programmable, the 2nd generation Wavedrum was introduced a couple years ago. At just 13" in diameter, the updated Wavedrum might have added plastic parts but still feels like a professional instrument with even a tensionable head. Scraping a stick across side ridges are but one aspect of a completely unique playing experience and truly organic sound. Connectors include 1/4" in and out, Aux in, and headphone jack. Alas, it's lack of MIDI ports and clunky interface are limitations. Needing to be plugged in, moreover, limits portability.

Last year's Mini Wavedrum is not just smaller, lighter, and cheaper. It's a wholly different animal targeting perhaps a singer-songwriter looking for accompaniment in a live setting rather than a simple percussion instrument for a studio musician (whether pro or amature). And so, the Mini has a built-in speaker and battery option (6 AAs). It has but a simple cheap and non-adjustable rubber pad rather than the outstanding tactile skin of the fullsized Wavedrum. The completely unique feature of this puppy is the clip microphone sensor that makes every surface (book cover, shoe, table top, etc) a new playing experience. Although sounds can be tweaked, there's no longer the editable instruments (with but a fraction of the big brother's features). Bottom line, it's hard to predict what sounds the clip or the pad will produce (both are velocity sensitive) ... but, this is also it's charm. If you were hoping for a cheaper Wavedrum, you'll be disappointed. But, while the mini is more of just a fun toy it's still a very fun little instument for the spontaneous jam. It makes any table drummer sound like a million (alas, sometimes the hand-strike can be louder than the somewhat unimpressive speaker but headphones work great). Still no MIDI interface and you can't store anything you create.

Both will appeal to musicians who value a truly original performance, or to any beginner simply looking to enjoy playing a musical instrument (what it was in fact designed for).

I own the Wavedrum and have been totally immersed and mesmerized by the capability of this instrument. When I saw the introduction of the WaveDrum Mini I immediately became fascinated with what I saw from a youtube video taken during a German Music Trade Show. The Wave Drum Mini is so intuitive, battery operated, powerful, lightweight, EASY TO FIGURE OUT, and spawns spontaneous grooves. The real technological advance is the "Clip" attachment which lets you play an 808 bass drum sound simply by tapping your toe on the ground in synch with your rhythm. The pad of the Wavedrum Mini is not pressure sensate like the regular Wavedrum but is velocity sensitive. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this instrument for anyone that is a percussionist or self proclaimed jamming drummer. WaveDrum Mini is a blast to play and makes you feel like you are ready to record a persuasion record that rivals that of Mickey Hart! Get ONE, you need it. A Perfect Gift!!!!!!!!

Want Korg WDMINI WaveDrum Percussion Synthesizer Discount?

This thing is a lot of fun and has a lot of cool sounds, but you have very little control of sound variation. It's not at all responsive like a drum head (higher pitch at the edge, etc.). I'd characterize it more as a toy than an instrument. I actually returned this and went with the Wavedrum instead. Much better piece of equipment for serious percussionists. But to be clear, this thing is a lot of fun as a toy, and you can get some great sounds out of it (although the onboard speaker is pretty low).

Buy Fom Amazon Now

While I received a great price to buy this and it came quickly from Japan in about one week (well worth it for the savings) the loudness of the speaker and when you hit the drum head area you want it to sounds like its on. Sometimes it was like there was no connection to the speaker (even though I know it was on). While many of the settingsto choose from were cool. Out of the 100 choices I would say 25 were really different. I wondered if because this is the mini it just does not sound like the full size. However, it has 2 synth buttons to add to the arpeggio and if you can get good base sounds out of you speakers it may be worth it to you. I collect all types of synth's from KB to drum synths so I had to get this. Like I said, I rate it a 6 of 10 and with a price of around $150 it is another interesting toy for us to record with.

they do the job. They are excellent for blocking outside noise and have a pretty decent sound quality although there can be a slight echo that you'll only notice if you've been around music as heavily as I have been. The mic is alright, not recording quality and eh for skype calls and the like; very echoey and crackly. What i like is they're sturdy and don't really heat your ears nearly as much as some other over the ear headphones that I've had. One downside is they were supposed to have come with a free dj software but the serial was missing on the flyer that came with the headphones. Overall, good for what you're paying and good if you have a noisy household you want to block out.
