I can't complain about this little micro amp. The level knob is good, the sound is really close to a regular amp, and I don't disturb anyone while practicing. It works perfectly for my guitar and I can even plug my synth into it and sounds great!, 4 out 5 stars because I wish it had more output.

I ordered this in looking for the most basic headphone amp in order to listen to my playing without any effects. I am using this with my Chapman Stick (along with a 1/4" stereo to 1/4" mono adapter), and the impedance seems to match fine. It also gives a decent amplification level at 70% of the volume knob and upward.

The unit takes a 9V battery (comes with one already installed) and it turns on when you insert your headphone connector into the jack into the top. The unit has a belt clip on the back, which is handy. The biggest plus is that it is quite small and unobtrusive.

The only negative thing is that the artwork on the front of the unit scratches off extremely easily (which is rather odd), so you should expect most of the logo to remove itself after some use. Mine showed up with lots of scratches already, but I didn't care since I realized that it is inevitable with the way that the unit was manufactured.

Great buy. Bought it to see if I wanted to learn the guitar before buying something more expensive. After deciding to commit to learning I got something bigger and now use this to amplify sound from my computer because I use headphones for my computer as well. Just one downside, I wish it had an on-off switch. I've already run the battery down once by accidentally leaving my headphones plugged in.

I just got this. I hooked my Epi Les Paul Custom up to a Bad Monkey overdrive and then ran that into this amp, which uses a 1/8" jack to pump the signal into the cans. It actually sounds pretty good and it is sturdily built. For someone who is on the road a lot and you want a lightweight practice amp, I suggest you use this since it is cheaper and less bulky than the piece of crap headphone amp that Dunlop puts out (the Guitar Ace, iirc). Hell, this would be fun to take on a private jet and jam to pass the time while you head to your destination. Too bad you can't do that on a regular airline *lol.

There is a volume knob on it to control how loud it is going into your headphones, but it also doesn't run on an adapter, just batteries. I don't know how long a battery will last yet on it, but you are now warned, I guess. Just keep in mind, though, to keep the volume rolled back so that you don't fry your ear drums since the quality of sound is comfortable enough to the ear to be deceptively loud.

Just received this item today -Amazon's shipping was spot on--great job! This is the first item of this sort I've purchased, and I love it. I'm playing bass and read an assortment of mixed reviews about similiar products. This one has a full metal casing -not cheap pot metal. It has a very tight fitting belt loop on it...I will see how that works over time. The volume knob is nice and tight, no extraneous movements in any direction; large green led so you know the unit is on. And, I like that fact that the unit turns on & off when the headphones are plugged in or unplugged, respectively. One can leave the guitar (in my case bass) plugged into it and not run down the battery. It requires a 9-volt battery (included). For me, the volume is wonderful. Between the volume on the bass and the volume on the box, it is more than I need. Another feature that I prefer about this product is that it does NOT plug directly into my instrument....that's just my preference. So, now it's off to the patio, park and other places for "silent' practice w/ the headphones. Great job electro harmonix!.

I just bought and received this new generation mini amp yesterday, and I am completely pleased with this plug direct to your electric guitar amp without cord. It's my second ampuplugnplay mini amp. The second amp I still have that I bought about three years ago and still works like when I bought it. This model has better features clean mode for rhythm and clean playing and the overdrive mode for blues, metal and rock guitar. The switch and 1/4 plug seems pretty sturdy built but common sense tells you make sure you don't bump into things with it on your guitar. I like the headphone input switch in case someone is sleeping your playing is private to your ears. But the speaker on is still ok to play without neighbors knocking on your door to turn it down especially if you live in an apartment it's ideal amp to have, meaning, it's loud enough for you and the people you are playing to in a smaller environment. It's convenient because you don't need to connect to a regular amp. The mini amp is there by pluging to your amp right away even outdoors like in a park. The main thing is I like the sound from this amp it is no Fender Twin or Marshal but it's sure nice to have and I like the features of it, too.

I have been playing off and on since the '70s and and bought many effect pedals from early on not to mention guitars and amps but having this little amp is one of my best guitar accessory purchases I have made.

The MP3 I will have to wait I understand you play along with the recorded music which is great, but I don't have access to a MP3 right now sounds like another good feature to have.

Received my Ampuplugandplay and tried it out. Came with its own 9 vlt. battery. Very simple operation. Plugged it in, turned it on, sounded fine on my Tele. Suprizingly good volume, clean and crunch. I actually purchased the Plug and Play to practice my Ibanez SGR Bass without waking the kids. Tried it out on the bass, however, the 1/4 jack did not fit into the front/angled output on my bass. So, great little practice amp IF you have a end pin jack.

This is a great little amp. When I want to practice guitar with some effects pedals, I no longer have to sit in my room next to the big amp on the floor. I can setup my effects boxes and pedals outside on the patio, plug this little amp in the end of my effects, and play. Headphone jack is great, too. I can play at night now.

A must-have for anyone who has an electric guitar or portable effects.

I bought one of these and started using it, obviously. In about a week the jack kept falling out of the plastic housing. I used thread tape to try and prevent this. It did not. It burns through batteries and sounds like garbage well. (even for practice) I do not recommend this.

I owned a similer amp like this years ago and used it a lot. I thought this would be good for in the living room to eliminate cords and save space not needing a practice amp on the floor. It acomplished that. Although....the amount of distortion is proportionate to the volume level on the guitar. Meaning, when I turn my volume down on my guitar I loose all distortion. The clean sound is better. The sound quality is not that great which makes me want to turn it down, then I loose the distortion. It's like an anoying little gadget that will not be used very much. I'm back to my small Line 6 practice amp with a cord. A great idea, the quality is acceptable and was what I expected gven the cheap price. It needs work on the sound quality.

I have the WTX260, previous version. It sounded amazing! ....THEN it started to crackle and pop, took it back to the dealer who verified the problem, as did his tech. The tech couldn't fix it, so it went back to Eden. It was returned weeks later NO FAULT FOUND. It did work for a while, but the problem soon returned. I left it on the shelf....feature: It didn't take up much space!.....Pulled it back out....like I thought the problem would go away? No, it's still there, and a phone call to Eden was a waste. No support. Good luck.

I'll stick to my pawn shop Fender for practice and a D.I. for live work.

What is worse than something that does not work at all? Something that works until you really need it.

I just received this amp today, so I have not had much time to play with it, but what I can say is that, from the first note, this little guy blew me away. The tone is incredibly warm and I did not have to adjust the EQ at all. It just came out of the amp exactly how I wanted my bass tone to sound.

I was running it at 4 ohms and gets pretty darn loud. It's Definitely good enough for practices with plenty of head room as well as some shows. Considering its DI it should be enough for just about any stage as well, though I haven't had a chance to test it out. It gets a little distorted when you really push the master volume, but that could just be based on the acoustics of the room I was playing in.

As far as quality, I have only had it for one day, but it feels super solid. In fact this amp feels sturdier than just about anything else I've laid a hand on. And considering Edens reputation for quality, I'm not worried about it. I'll will definitely be sticking with Eden when I eventually upgrade (if I upgrade I should say. Unless I need more power at some point, the Eden WTX-264 will keep me happy for ages)
