I'm new to creating music on a computer, and my research, along with tons of positive reviews from others, led me to the POD Studio KB37 as a good all-purpose starting point. In terms of flexibility, this package is very hard to beat. The built-in inputs and mic preamps let you record just about anything, from guitar/bass and other electric instruments to vocals and acoustic instruments (using your own mic, of course). For these uses alone, the KB37 is a great way to get sound into your computer with minimum headaches. Simply connect the KB37 to your computer with a single USB cable. It's USB-powered, so you don't even have to plug it into a power outlet.

The hardware's MIDI keyboard and control surface open up a whole new dimension. They allow you to add keyboard parts and adjust some software parameters via real-world knobs and buttons; this is much faster than clicking and dragging onscreen "virtual" controls.

The included software package reveals the KB37's full potential, transforming an otherwise great product into an incredible bargain. Sure, the Reason Adapted (synth, sampler, sequencer, and effects) and Ableton Live (multitrack recording) software are the "lite" versions of these programs, but even so, they're very versatile and powerful. If you're fairly new to DAW software, trust me, even the lite version of Reason is pretty incredible -you'll get a lot of use out of it. It includes tons of sampled real-world instruments, fully functional and tweakable soft synths, drum machine, sequencer, effects, and a lot more. It takes quite a while to explore its impressive capabilities. Once you do, you'll know whether you want to upgrade to the full version, which is available at a discounted price. But again, the lite verion will be plenty for many users.

Finally, you get Line 6's POD Farm software, which gives you an arsenal of stompbox and rack effects for guitar, bass, vocals, and just about anything else. On top of that, it includes amp, cab, and mic preamp modeling. You get everything that most guitar multi-effects units provide and then some. Because it runs on your computer, naming and saving patches is quicker and easier than stand-alone multi-effects units, and you can save as many custom patches as you like. And, unlike stand-alone units, POD Farm is expandable. Line 6 claims that the KB37 allows you to monitor your tone, complete with effects, without a latency problem (a lag between playing a note and hearing the output). This is not an empty promise. On my modest laptop, which runs Windows Vista on an Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 (1.83GHz) with 3GB of RAM, I experience zero latency problems.

All told, for the price of one guitar multi-effects unit, you get everything you need to start a home studio. If you're a full-time keyboard player, this package probably isn't aimed at you. As its name suggests, the KB37's keyboard has only 37 keys. So, there are probably better MIDI keyboard controllers out there for you. Plus, as a keyboard specialist, you'd most likely want a full version of whatever synth software you prefer. On the other hand, if you play guitar or bass and you want all the building blocks for tweaking your tone, adding vocals, effects, *and* getting your feet wet with powerful synths, sampling, and multitrack recording, here it is for a laughably low price.

This is great!! i bought this to be the heart of my long awaited home studio, and it definately has all the potential to be. the software alone is very usable, great for any music creative process. ableton has been the best so far, pod farm is of course essential for guitar players. but, a week after i got this it stopped recognizing the guitar signal, or any other input other than the keyboard itself. the pod farm program was not responding to any instrument. so i uninstalled, reinstalled, updated drivers, registered my product, everything. still not working. so i went to the line 6 forums and found a guy with a similar problem. he ended up upgrading to pod farm 2.0. i did the same, and everything works again!! i dont know what happened, but of course as with any electronic device today the internet is a crucial tool in making anything work nowadays. i am unfortunate enough not to have high speed where i live, so i had to resolve these problems at work. other than the updating which gave me a big scare and pissed me off, this is a awesome product and will hopefully give me years of music creation.

The recording interface and software alone would make this unit an invaluable recording tool (see the UX series if you're not interested in a keyboard). Being a guitarist, I initially thought the keyboard and electronic music features would end up being more of a novelty than anything, but after spending time with the included Ableton software I can honestly say that I am very glad I went this route, it is very much a creative tool as opposed to a piece of equipment you wrestle with constantly while you are working on musical ideas.

There is a lot to like about the KB37. There are also limitations, but in my opinion according to what you will use it for.

When I first saw it I thought it is one of the coolest looking pieces of current equipment I have seen. I love the design ideas. My use is for recording demos on a MacBook Pro using Logic Pro. I had previously been using Focusrite Saffire pre-amps, and I was concerned that the pre-amp quality would be inadequate for my demos. I would have also preferred a longer keyboard, but as I say budget was tight.

The result? Well I gotta say once I got used to how it works, using the KB37 is mostly enjoyable. The pre-amps are not bad certainly useable for demo quality. Not pristine, but pretty good. Much more disappointing is the line out quality. Dull, lifeless and clouded compared even with the ordinary audio line out on my Macbook. These are certainly not up to mixing with, producing nowhere near enough detail, which is a real let down considering they did so well with the pres. I am not so interested in the modelling section as I would take the sound of a mic in front of an amp ANY day over a model, but I actually do like the line 6 sound, and the interface is beautifully laid out from a visual point of view. I have had some noise problems with the models, but I must say I mat not be setting up optimally, as I have only had the unit a couple of weeks.

Overall, as as been said, the unit IS pretty cheap. My Focusrite 2 channel mic preamp/firewire interface cost more than this alone. So I guess you get what you pay for. If you mainly like hooking up loads of guitar models and effects, and wanna program virtual instrument parts from the keyboard, I think you will love this. If you want a studio interface for serious recordings, maybe up the budget a little and get better audio quality. Overall, I think Line 6 are great designers, and I am glad they are around!

I bought this as a way to input some of my instruments into my computer AND have a midi keyboard controller.

Generally I am happy with the product yet finding out exactly how to utilize it completely is not easy and has not that much documentation or support.

it has an impressive bundling of software yet same issue.. not much real support.

PROS

Product has potential.

works well in the LIGHT version of ableton live. as a midi keyboard and AUDIO input.

CONS

Not much documentation and a steep learning curve.

Reason..adapted (one of the included products ) is NOT recognized on windows 7.

no real explanation of how to assign keyboard controls.

I own the SRS HD Audio Lab, iWow for iTunes, SRS iWOW adapter (for iPod/iPhone), iWow 3d adapter and I have tried My Tunes Pro HD (for the iPad), My Tunes Pro (for iPhone/iPod Touch) and the Audio Essentials software for PC.

And the best out of them all are:

(Starting with the best)

1. HD Audio Lab (Which Enhances all sound on your PC)

This program was the program that SRS was selling before it was replaced by the Audio Essentials software. HD Audio Lab's audio not only sounds better than the Audio Essentials software, but also has more specific settings for what kind of speaker you are playing your content on. Such as headphones, laptop (internal speakers) or computer speakers. For computer speakers you can choose 2.0, 2.1, 5.1 and 7.1. As well as full control over advanced settings such as SRS 3d Space Level, SRS 3d Center Level, SRS Trubass Level, Speaker Size: 100Hz, SRS Focus Level, SRS Definition Level and Limiter Level. You can also choose from three different modes which are movie, music and game. The best mode to use for everything is the music mode.

2. iWow 3d Adapter (for iPod, iPad, iPhone) After listening to my music with the adapter I liked it so much I can't listen to my music without it.

3. My Tunes Pro HD (for iPad) A must have for listening to music on the iPad.

This controller is excellent and fun to use while live mixing and recording. If you are new to the world of mixing or moving away from turntables and looking at controllers I recommend this product.Reloop Digital Jockey 2 Interface Edition

This is a magnificent piece of hardware. It ships with Traktor LE which is good enough to get the job done, the feel is magnificent and hooking up was relatively hassle free. Jog wheels are touch sensitive and can control different things. It's designed for Traktor pro which means a few features (x-fade control, key adjust & more) don't work without the upgrade to pro.

Pros:

-Solid feel

-Song browsing encoder

-Integrated sound card

-0% pitch lights

-Big buttons for CUP, CUE & Play/Pause

-Powers through USB or external power supply

-EQ knobs has push to kill

-Integrated independent shift buttons

-Looks handsome and professional

-Integrated MIC & Headphone jack

-Basic Headphone EQ

-Really easy to update the firmware

Cons:

-One of the jog wheels isn't perfectly centered on mine making a very slight rubbing sound

-Really designed for Traktor Pro, so some features can't be used unless software is upgraded.

-Shift button is necessary to engage HI/LO filter, but jog wheels cannot be manipulated with shift button is held.

-Encoder resolution is too low to create super accurate scratches.

-LE doesn't support multiple CUE Points, controller remapping, so Controllerism is basic out of the box.

Overall I would highly recommend this controller over the Vestax Typhoon/spin, or the Hercules product lines. It is probably not in the same quality level (or price range) as the VCI-300 or NS-7, but it at least looks, feels and works in a professional manner so that you won't be clowned for turning up to a gig with a "DJ Hero" controller.

This is a very good quality bag. I purchased it to use with the On Stage KS7350 Pro Heavy Duty Folding Z Keyboard Stand, and the stand fits very nicely with lots of extra room. The bag has a large padded pocket on the inside, and I assume this is for a 2nd tier for the stand (which I do not have). After seeing that the bag had so much room, I tried putting my On Stage KT7800 Plus Keyboard Bench in there along with the stand, and it fits!! They both fit in the bag very comfortably!! I was so excited when I found this out because that makes it that much easier to carry less things. My only suggestion is that you be careful to face the padded seat of the keyboard toward the outside of the bag so it doesn't press against the metal stand (although the seat would probably still be fine, anyway). This particular bench is larger than many, having a 3" thick padded seat that's 23" wide. So if you have a smaller bench, it should fit for sure.

I'm very glad I got this bag. The Z-folding stand is awkward to carry by itself. This bag makes it a lot easier to tote around, and as an added bonus, it can fit my bench, too! :D Even with both the stand and the bench in the bag, there's still room for more stuff. Maybe even the 2nd tier and/or a smaller stand could still fit. If you do a lot of gigs, this bag will help make your life easier.

I was looking for a soft case for my Quasimidi Sirius synthesizer, for the size .. this stand bag fits better than any other soft case out there. Paddings are okay, the outer nylon material is thick and nice. Just measure it first if you need it for something else, cos this thing is great. I'm very satisfied overall.

I use the heavy duty folding z stand, and I have to dismantle it for it to fit in this bag. It does the job; it's just not convenient.

The On Stage 2 tier Z stand has to be completely broken down to fit is this bag.

The bag itself is pretty durable, however the zipper isn't that great.

Need to be careful not to break it.

I bought this piano about a month ago and I am very pleased with the performance. The keyboard is of decent quality. the only thing I didnt like is the cheap keys. Everytime you press the key you can feel the sound of the plastic which is very annoying given you really want to hear the sound of the piano not the plastic keys. But you couldnt expected anything better for the price anyway. Keyboard makes learning easy with its lighted keys system. Also a great feature is that it can be connected with computer. You could connect this with your computer and play an midi file to see the corresponding keys light up (it only works if you play the midi files on windows media player, I have windows XP). This gives you a nice way to figuring out the notes for any song.

The stand that comes with it is of good quality as well I had no problem putting it together (hardly five minutes) and it works well with the keyboard.

The headphones and the adapter (not the power adapter) that come with it are total junk. If you want to enjoy practicing on this keyboard I would strongly recommend getting new headphones and adapter. The power adapter that comes with it is good too. I haven't had any complains yet.

I would recommend this keyboard for any beginner or intermediate player.

(giving four stars because the headphone quality that comes with it is really really crappy! not pleased with the sound of the plastic feel and sound of the keys otherwise a great product for the price)

Good piano and good buy. Obviously its not going to be amazing, it is a beginners piano, but overall it does everything i need it to. Cheap, and easy to use. The program is easy to follow and really does help people learn. I would recommend buying it. The headphones are good for playing at night.

I am so happy with my new keyboard, the LK is just what I needed to get me started. Shipping was fast. I am a little disappointed with the headphones, though. The left continuously tunes out or crackles. It's not a connection issue with the adapter either. The speakers on the piano are loud and clear. There are so many songs and training; it's an intuitive little machine!

Want Casio LK-230 Personal Keyboard Premium Package with 61 Keys, Headphones, Stand & Power Supply Discount?

It is bigger than I expected.

I play guitar and drums but never played piano/keyboard before. But I can play the Mozart Turk symphony now! It can teach you lots of songs. All you have to do is to push the button and arrange the rythm as slow as you can easily learn.

Headphone, power supply and the stand are also fine. Of course, order a transformer for the power supply if you are living in Europe.

Fully recommended!!!

I would have preferred the wall mounting one, but I figured I could just take the mounting part off and stick it with some 3M adhesive, unfortunately for me it's actually nicely welded typical high K&M quality, so it's on a mic stand now, I'll have to make myself one or find somewhere I can get the wall mount one in less the 10 weeks, but I can't mark it down for it not allowing me to re-appropriate it.

In Short:

Great build quality

a very nice "rack" part to hold your head phones, nice and broad to suit any sized headphones (even a 2nd pair)

and some hooks to hold ear buds or the cord from large cans with removable cords

OK, I wrote a review on the WA30 Washburn amp and was very well pleased with it. I ordered the WA20 used from Amazon last week. I received it yesterday and played the same guitar I play through my WA30 and to be honest I can't tell much difference. Now keep in mind the WA30 is a 30 watt amplifier. and the WA20 is only 12 watt. I know that in a larger setting the WA20 would not be large enough. But for home and a small group of people it will work just fine. In fact it might even work where I've been using the WA30. It REALLY SOUNDS GOOD! I can honestly say that Washburn Knows how to make a really quality acoustic amplifier. I am far from an expert on these kind of things. But basically these amps take the already good or even bad sound your guitar makes and reproduces the sound with a louder sound. Which is what you want from an acoustic amplifier. Reproduce the sound just louder. Well worth the money.

I have used this system for about four months now.

It's a good unit in every way except that it doesn't provide equalization adjustments and I find that no matter what headphones I use, the signal seems quite bright. That's even with an Alien Ears CFR3 custom molded headphone that was pretty expensive.

Only other complaint I can think of at the moment is that I wish the receiver was smaller but maybe this is the normal size for this type of device.

I bought these Earbuds for my husband to use with a new iPod Touch we gave him for his birthday. He loved the iPod but HATED the earbuds that came with it. He had a hard time fitting those into his ear and still maintaining maximum sound. The earbuds fell out of his ears when he was walking or doing things around the house. He was frustrated with the entire situation.

I wasn't sure exactly what this product would be like or if it would work when I ordered it, so I awaited their delivery a little anxiously. Once they arrived and my husband tried them, he was immediately hooked. Now I can't get him to take them out of his ears! He is listening to music, watching videos, etc., nearly constantly. He told me it was easy to fit the pieces that customized them to his ear. In addition, he has some degree of hearing loss and he told me that these earbuds gave him full, rich sound that was amazing. I listened myself and am very impressed. Much, much better than the standard earbuds. They work great when he uses his iPod to call me from overseas. The clarity for him is awesome. They do a great job of blocking out sound on the airplane as well when he just wants to enjoy his music or whatever.

Finding these earbuds for him was just what was needed to make him happy! I can highly recommend them!

For the price of these headphones you really can't go wrong. I purchased this product to replace the crappy set that came with the iPod. I still find it strange the iPod comes with such cheap and weak-sounding headgear when you can get 5x the sound for around $10. As long as you keep in mind these are *not* high-end speakers you should be very pleased with this product. These earbuds are comfortable and do a decent job blocking out some of the ambient noise. Also keep in mind these are *not* noise-cancelling, but the in-ear nature of these earplugs will help to some degree. The package comes with 3 additional sets of rubber cups (small / medium / large) that you can place over the speaker prong. For me, the medium size fits best and may be the size that came installed. With these interchangeable pads you can find the right pair that's best suited for noise reduction and comfort.

As with any headphones of this type, you will need to fiddle around to get the optimal sound. The deeper you insert them, the more noise cancellation you get. However, the bass can sound muddy. Slightly pull them out and you have cleaner bass & highs (my preference), but at the cost of losing a tiny amount of noise reduction. Slightly pull them out even more and you have almost no noise reduction, no bass at all, and the weakest sound. Even though I found the highs to be a little cleaner, I do not recommend pulling them out this far. We are talking subtle moves here, but if you are familiar with this type of headset you will understand the nuance to getting the best balance of highs, lows, and noise cancellation. I think the angled speaker tips are an improvement to previous designs as it fits into the ear better.

I purchased these to use while working out at the gym and to have some entertainment while mowing the lawn and doing other household projects. For this purpose, they are EXCELLENT headphones at a great value. I own a pair of Sennheisers (HD580) that cost around $350 ten years ago. Obviously those are the puppies I use when I want to give music a serious listen. I would never pay more than $30 for this type of headgear. What's the use of hi-fi when you are dealing with considerable levels of ambient noise? Secondly, these types of headphones are easier to misplace or break. For $10-$15, it will not hurt the pocketbook to find a replacement. I imagine these earbuds to be of similar quality to Skullcandy, JLab (JBud), JVC, as well as other brands priced a little higher. They are comfortable enough where they can be worn for an hour or two without much discomfort. If quality sound is what you seek, there are better options out there. Common sense should dictate you will not get super high quality for this price range, but these really do sound surprisingly good!

I can recommend these for the price, and feel checking these out would be a safe and risk-free bet. The reason I rated this product 3 stars instead of 4 is because the price went up to $15.00. At $10 a 4 star rating is a no-brainer.

I have a set of these for home, work and a pair to use with my cellphone. That's how much I like them.

These hold up well over time. The first pair I bought in the fall of 2010 and they still work great. Nice long chord. The buds themselves are made of metal and so is the splitter piece and the plug part. There are 4 ear sizes to choose from.

Great sound quality, noise isolation and bass. You'll be surprised by how nice these are.

Highly recommend them.

Let me just say that for the price they are great. They have the multiple tips that you could change out for a better fit...the new angle they use fit very well...the sound and noise cancelling I thought worked very well. My only complaint would be that the bass is not very heavily felt when listening to bass heavy music...but most earbuds I've used have the same issues...or if on other sets the bass does come through its distorted anyway. I'd give these a solid 90% overall...

Want GOgroove audiOHM Earbuds / In-Ear Headphones with Interchangeable Noise Isolating Ergonomic Ear Gel Discount?

When I saw these GOgroove audiOHM Ergonomic Metallic Silver Earbuds appear here as a featured electronics product in the Best Deals section, I figured that for the price they couldn't be too bad for my use. The product page said that they were "Engineered with SonusMAX Technology to deliver deep bass and clear highs." Thought that this might be advertising hype, but if the ambient noise isolation proved to be true, that would be good enough for me. Their "Neodymium Magnetic Components" meant nothing for me, as did the velvet carrying case, and I didn't care about the color. But the spec saying "Comfortable, ergonomic fit with customizable silicon ear gels" sounded like what I was looking for, so I ordered them. For those who just want the basics, I'll list the pros and cons first, then the details...

Pros:

* Excellent sound; rich bass and high, clear trebles

* Voice imaging in songs is excellent

* Comfortable, and they came with extra earpieces

* Lightweight and very unobtrusive

* Metal alloy housing on the sound chamber

* Excellent price; a true bargain

Cons:

* How long will the cords last? I don't know, time will tell...

Details:

My needs were not exotic; I wanted simple no-nonsense earbuds that would work with my (aging but reliable) SanDisk Sansa Clip+ MP3 player and for use listening to music with my BlackBerry Curve when commuting. I also wanted it for listening to audio privately on my MacBook Pro, and for use with my Kindle 2 when using the text to speech feature. These new ones were bought as a backup; currently have the basic black JBuds Hi-Fi Noise-Reducing Ear Buds which were bought a couple of years ago, and have served me quite well.

For more serious listening, I can always go to my Plantronics GameCom 380 Stereo PC Gaming Headset, which offers rich stereo sound with deep, resonating bass via its 40mm speakers. Also have an older Shure headset, but the cord is frayed now, so it's rarely used.

Listening:

Decided to put these new GOgroove audiOHM earbuds through their paces to see what they were like. They proved to be quite comfortable out of the box, and a pleasant surprise was that they came with three sizes of silicone ear gels for customized fitting. The cord has a slide adjustment so that it won't be flopping around all over the place, and the Y-connector has a small metal alloy housing for extra strength. In other words, they're comfortable and well constructed. But enough on this, as it was time to see how they sound, as that's what it's all about.

I tested these new earbuds on both the Windows 7 PC with customization and equalization as needed, then on the MacBook Pro, running them "flat" as a comparison. Have yet to run them on my MP3 player or Kindle, but I expect that there won't be any issues. My musical tastes are quite eclectic, and within a few hours of fun, I had played a wide range of tracks, selections from Adele, Leonard Cohen, Whitney Houston, Tom Waits, Regina Spektor, Paolo Conte, Five for Fighting, Al Jarreau, Buckwheat Zydeco, Carl Orff's O Fortuna (Carmina Burana), Amy Winehouse, The B52s, Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Enya, Quynh Anh, Pachelbel's Canon in D and more. If you want to hear a beautiful, clear female vocal voice, check out Rumer's Slow, which is a worthwhile freebie here as of this writing.

I found that the sounds were clear and accurate, that the `transparency' throughout the frequency range resulted in good delineating of instruments and voices. It was easy to hear the fingers sliding on acoustic guitar strings, the light whoosh of a flute, the brassy notes of a trombone, the distant tinkle of a softy struck triangle at the back of the stage, the rich boom of kettle drums, and the glisten and afterglow of a brushed cymbal.

Bass sounds are important to most of us listeners, as it's the rhythmic underpinning of much music, and in this these earbuds did not disappoint. Fading tails of sound decaying away in all ranges are easily distinguishable and followed to its silence. Spatial clues and sound reflections are accurate, such as naturally recorded hall ambiance and fingers going down a keyboard.

But I had to test these GOgroove audiOHM earbuds a bit higher, using an album that I've used over the years to test larger home speakers and sub-woofers, an album that to many audiophiles is the gold standard for testing the capabilities of speakers, a pure digital (DDD) CD that's been around since the `70s. The album is Time Warp but I strongly suggest that if you get it, read the reviews first and follow the advice of those who say to be conservative and turn your volume very low. This one has been known to make your tweeters turn to a dying squawk, and to deteriorate the foam surround on your bass speakers and subs, and I'm not joking.

And to my surprise, these new earbuds held up under my tests with that, even with the low sub-30Hz sounds of the first twenty seconds of the digitally-recorded Introduction to Also Sprach Zarathustra, known to many as the "Theme from 2001, A Space Odyssey." As noted before, use this one with the volume way down to start.

Summary:

I must admit to being surprised at the unexpected sound quality of these GOgroove audiOHM Ergonomic Metallic Silver Earbuds. They are comfortable to "wear" for extended periods, and I won't laugh when I read "Neodymium Magnetic Components" anymore. I've heard better from far more expensive headsets and earbuds in the $60+ range, and judging them in that league these would be a solid 4-star product. But considering the construction and the price, these are a true 5-star product, and a surprisingly good addition to musical enjoyment on the go, in a plane, while exercising, or at home.

I recently broke my headphone bass amp and didn't really care for it anyway. Except for the portability, the Ashdown Tourbus fit the bill nicely. Small enough to set on a desk, I just plug in the bass and computer audio (or ipod or whatever) and I am ready to practice or jam. Sounds fine for purpose too.
