PROS:

1-the flexibility to experiment with placement and tones on the soundboard and bridge.

2-sounds better than most pickups.

3-no need to drill holes in the guitar

4-low cost (also see CONS)

5-sound got even better when I combined the C411 signal with an Audio Technica AT831b clip-on mic pointed at the soundhole. This sound was almost as good as using my AKG C414 in the studio.

6-adhesive sticks really well and doesn't mark up or damage the wood

7-solid/loud output

8-can be used on multiple guitars

9-using two C411s at the same time (placed on different parts of the guitar)would probably sound even better

CONS:

1-doesn't sound better than a high-end condensor mic

2-cost of the mic is low but the AKG cable you need to use the mic cost more than mic.

3-attack is good for fingerstyle/classical/flamenco players but not ideal for really fast pickers (maybe a compressor would remedy this issue)

OVERALL:

worth the money and worth trying out as an alternative to other pickups/transducers for live sound.

when i originally purchased this product, i didnt really have great expectations for it. i had tried it once in a hurry, managed to get a decent sound, so i thought, i'll give it a shot. but man, when i actually took 15 minutes to find the sweet spot on my acoustic guitar, GOD this thing gave me an eargasm ;) my whole life, i had dreamt of getting a pure, natural acoustic guitar without bothering to drill holes in my guitar or having to worry about feedback on stage.

this mic captures every imagineable detail on my steel sting acoustic & its incerdibly feedback resistant for most acoustic venues(dont expect to play at a rock show thru a 100W monster amp). the acoustic sound comes out so clear & natural,it picks up finger squeaks, finger taps everything & yet very little of surrounding noise. hats off to AKG for making such a great product. I've even tried it on a nylon string guitar(great sound), on a sitar(really good) & even on the body of a fretless electric guitar(!even the electric sounded decent!)

remember that this is not a pickup, its a condenser microphone. so it needs phantom power.

only downside: this mic is hardwired with a mini XLR plug. to use it, u need to buy another AKG product like the B29L or MPA V in order to supply phantom power. u cannot plug it straight into an amp or mixer. despite the added cost, i feel its really worth the price. in fact this should be an industry standard. i'm tired of going to concerts & having my beautiful acoustic miked with a SM57(acoustics sound like garbage thru a SM57).

great product, spend half hour with your acoustic guitar to find the sweet spot to paste it(with included removable adhesive) & u'll get years of auditory pleasure.

this is a highly recommended purchase.

I used this mic on my acoustic nylon guitar with great results. For me it works better over the bridge. Your guitar sound is what you get, if you have a good instrument you will get a good sound!

The earlier reviews pretty much sum it all up. The C411 has got the best balance of features of any acoustic pickup out there. But above all it is the best sounding pickup out there. I *prefer* that it is phantom powered. Every PA system in the world, as well as most all acoustic instrument amps have phantom power so no more fiddling with ever-dying batteries! Sure, an freestanding external condenser microphone (which is NOT a fixed condenser pickup like the C411) is about the only thing that *might* sound better, but an external freestanding mic (besides being more of a hassle) is more prone to feedback and freezes you to one spot and position onstage. As a contact mic, the C411 is far more resistant to feedback and will generally give you much higher levels before feedback, while still maintaining condenser delicacy, crispness and shimmer. Since the C411 sports an Omni pattern, and is generally mounted on the outside of the instrument, it really captures an open, airy, nuanced and highly realistic guitar sound. Not boxy like internal soundboard transducers or compressed and quacky like undersaddle transducers. I've been playing guitars professionally for over 2 decades, the C411 is the closest thing yet to the holy grail for any acoustic stringed instrument stage performer out there. You will not regret it.

extremely high quality pickup. Ideal for acoustic instruments. True linear response across all frequencies. I would recommend a feedback exterminator such as Sabine SM-820 to pair this mic.

I am a medical/clinical hypnotist and use these headphones during sessions with clients allowing clients to listen to background music while I speak through a microphone. This process allows for more privacy and keeps the client's attention focused on the session. I received a complimentary set of these headphones when I set up my office, and immediately purchased three additional sets for when I work with small groups.

I have found the Presonus headphones to work great. They fit entirely around the ear which helps shut out any background noise, and seem to fit easily around earrings and ear jewelry.

The drawback, but I think you will encounter this with any headphone that fits around the ear, is that after about 1 hour, the client may experience sweating around the ear ... other than that, they have worked great.

I bought to use at our church. These are very comfortable and light weight. They are large but that is what I wanted, they fit around the ears not on them. The cord is long which is nice.

I bought these for listening to recordings, and listening to music. They are semi-open headphone which give them a good sound stage, but loud background noise will leak through. These were designed for use in environment with nothing louder than a fan or computer case. They have strong base. Can say too much for the mids and highs, but I can say I picked up on much more detail in my music. Do yourself a favor and play 320bitrate or better when using these, or you will pick up on the flaws of lower bitrates. Like most headphones, they do need to be stretched until the pressure is good for your head. I have found that they are best for music with base, but they play all genre with pretty good quality. For such a cheap price these are great.

EDM, Electronic Dance Music, has become much more than a genre, it is a culture. These headphones bring it all home.

Open the box and you'll find attractively packaged (hint hint to someone thinking of getting these as a gift) headphones as well as a round case with a zipper matching the color. I chose purple, so the purple and black case is perfect. Inside are an assortment of 3 additional sets of eartips, a small, large (the medium is already attached) and a flanged for deep ear insertion. Fit and proper insertion are key to getting all the sound these headphones offer. The tip goes all the way in the ear canal, forming a seal for optimal sound. When you get the right tip on and insert properly, these are COMFORTABLE and don't slip out. A bonus inside...true to the EDM current, you have all acess as they show the PLUR with a silicone wristband.

The first thing I did was plug it in to my iPhone and listen to Kaskade's Atmosphere. Yes, these are MADE for multi-layered compositions and pulse. Then I made a few calls using them. I prefer my one ear for calls but it's nice to have this option.

Later it was connected to my PC while cruising new tunes. Lest you think they are only for EDM, they really enhance gaming as well.

Then I compared them to my old but loved Lady GaGa Monster Beats, as well as a few lower end headsets. Granted the Beats are getting a little wonky, but I have to say it's better to be in the MEE EDM Universe. Can't help but notice logo similarity, hmmmm.

My mother was great lover of opera and symphony. I grew up listening to her records, and when I was small I'd ask her to put on Ravel's Bolero and I'd lie down, listening to it build.

Need to get out of your skin for a while? Put these on, lie down flat on your back. Hit play, close your eyes, palms up, and just absorb everything.

Now THAT'S kandi for the soul.

Preliminary disclosure: I was sent a product for review.

The MEElectronics EDM D1P Headphones provide an interesting listen experience within a certain range of music. Typically, I expect that a headphone should accommodate all musical styles with precision and accuracy. The EDM D1Ps are specifically tuned for use with bass-heavy EDM music. As such, they sound best when listening to something like Deadmau5 or Skrillex.

First of all, the build quality is great. These look terrific. A range of ear pieces are provided so that you can get a good fit irrespective of the size of your ears. They also come with a carrying case, which is very welcome. You might be fine with throwing your iPod earbuds in with your gym gear, but the EDM D1Ps demand a bit more care and protection. They may be well-built, but after spending around $40 on headphones, no one wants them to get damaged. The carrying case neatly solves the problem.

In terms of design, I have no complaints. The headphones look and feel excellent. A common problem with this design is microphonics introduced by vibrations in the headphone cord itself. Essentially, when you have a canalphone design that forms a tight seal in your ear, any vibration in the cord gets amplified and sounds very loud. It's like listening to music through a stethoscope and having someone tap on the listening end periodically. It can really ruin the music. Fortunately, the MEElectronics folks provide a clip that helps reduce this substantially. You may not be able to wear these jogging without some microphonic interferences, but for regular use, the clip helps you avoid this.

The headphones come with a remote, and in testing it with my iPhone, it seems to work just fine. It's a nice feature, especially if you like to listen from an iPod stowed in your backpack or something on the bus.

The only real downside is the midrange and treble when listening to certain kinds of music. Like I said, the sound is great when listening to electronic music with heavy bass. The theoretically ideal headphones offer flat frequency response throughout the audible spectrum. These take a different approach, very similar to the Beats by Dr. Dre headphones that are so popular. The Beats headphones really emphasize the low frequencies in a way that make bass-heavy music like EDM and rap sound punchy and exciting. When listening to this type of music, the headphones really make the music pop.

When auditioning these headphones, I did the following: I allowed them to burn in for about 72 hours using a special track that involved white noise and a sine wave sweep. I then tried them with my iPhone playing MP3s, through my iPhone playing ALAC (lossless) files, through my stereo playing vinyl records, and through my dedicated headphone amp and outboard D-A converter playing CDs. I think I gave them a fair shot.

On all systems, they were great with EDM music. The downside is that when you're listening to other types of music, especially when it involves a lot of midrange and high frequencies like jazz, classical, or anything that is primarily acoustic, the middle and high frequencies sound somewhat anemic and shallow. If you plan on listening to anything other than rap, hip-hop, EDM, or electronic in general, these are not for you. The EDM D1Ps are specifically tuned to work with bass-heavy music.

Basically, these are not good as all-around headphones. They are built for a purpose. Provided that you use them for that purpose, you will be pleased. When I was listening to styles like house, trance, progressive house, techno, hip-hop, and tech house, I was quite pleased. When I switched styles and listened to anything else, I was not as happy. Jazz, for instance, mostly involves the midrange, and when the bass is enhanced at the expense of the midrange, the music sounds a little shallow.

They are certainly a step above iPod earbuds. Perhaps it's not fair to use the EDM D1Ps for other types of music and then complain that the midrange and treble weren't pristine.

This is the audiophile take on things. The Beats by Dr. Dre headphones are based around a heavy bass sound profile and great design (they do look great). They are really popular, and MEElectronics gives you a similar sound for a much lower price. It's a great value, provided this is the music that you gravitate toward. I can't blame the EDM D1Ps for not sounding amazing with every single type of music because they were designed for a purpose, and that purpose was heavy, punchy bass. They do it very well.

Really, it comes down to knowing your listening habits. If you've listened to the Beats headphones and you like the sound, these give you the same results at a fraction of the price. They are also very nicely designed in terms of appearance. If you want a headphone for a wide range of music (especially non-electornic music), look elsewhere.

Overall, I am very impressed by the design and appearance of the EDM D1Ps. They a very nicely designed. I have a few issues with the sound quality, which is why I'm giving them four starts instead of five. Because I listen to a lot of electronic music, I'm sure I will use these often. I just wouldn't make them my *only* pair of headphones. They look cool and they sound lively and punchy. If you're an EDM fan or you enjoy the Beats sound, these may be just what you want.

as an avid user of earphones/headphones I have been through many different brands and styles. I came across these EDM Universe in-ear headphones and thought I'd give them a try. The packaging was well thought of and it shows that MEElectronics puts a lot of thought into putting out a quality product within a quality package, considering that these were under $50.00. I was immediately blown away by such quality sound from a set of in-ear headphones and for the price too! These were designed for EDM (Electronic Dance Music) and all the sounds were crisp and clear. From the mids to the highs to the insane bass I was convinced that i have found my perfect pair of in-ear headphones. I tested these out at the gym and the track and It amazes me even more for these stayed in my ears and haven't fallen out once. So, it definitely got bonus points for that.

I would definitely recommend these in-ear headphones to the EDM lovers out there. You will not be disappointed.

I had recently received these headphones in the mail and not only did it come with extra buds but also a nice zipper case that will come very handy to prevent tangling or damage when i throw my headphones in my backpack. i love the green color and the style of them because they fit so comfortably in my ear unlike the hard feeling of the traditional apple headphones. but it also comes with the handy volume control on the side plus a button to play, pause and double click to change song. definitely love these headphones!

After reading the reviews on these headphones, I decided to purchase them. The first thing i noticed when i received them in the mail was the packaging they came in. It's not bulky at all and it even came with a small pouch for holding the headphones when you're not using them. I do a lot of gaming on my laptop and listen to music while playing and while at the gym. The sound quality is the best of all headphones I've used. The previous headphones I used were made by Bose. I loved them because they wrapped around my ear and didn't fall out while running. After using these however, I'll be using these as my primary headphones. Despite the fact that the headphones don't wrap around my ear, they stay in way better than I thought. I love the super lightweight design. It makes running that much better. I think my favorite part about the speakers is how well I've noticed that they silence background noise. Allows you to concentrate on whatever you're doing at the moment. I would highly recommend these to anyone due to the clarity of the headphones and the numerous ways you can utilize them. A purchase that I'm extremely happy about.

The Pioneer DDJ series are mostly of plastic chassis (only exception is the DDJ-SX which is metal). I own 2 DDJ models, the T1 and the ERGO-V. I'm reviewing this product to let hobbyists and beginners know that this is a good product if you're looking on something to start with. As a professional turntablist, it's not a very serious product. As far as controllers go in this price range, you'll never regret paying for what it is "cheap and cheerful" not "cheap and nasty". The 2 deck layout is nice, the buttons are tactile and responsive unlike the Gemini CNTRL/FirstMix series or Numark Mixtrack. Like the ERGO-V, it's powered via USB but doesn't have "docking space" to tuck your laptop under the controller. Buyer beware, with all touch top sensitive platters I recommend buying a case or a lid for your controller unless you're a hardware junkie who can repair it at home. I know some other reviewer stated that the faders feel plasticy but I also own a few Pioneer mixers as well, as far as the fader buttons, they all feel plastic. What does matter is about the feel of it gliding back and forth and working reliably. All their faders are of the same standard whether if you pay $200 or $2000. They don't wear out unless you're just flat out abusing them. My only concern when I demoed the WeGO is that it's very light and feels easier to break.

Conclusion:

PROS:

Actually cheap and cheerful, not cheap and nasty

Tactile and responsive buttons

Quality faders

Compact design

USB powered

MIDI compatible w/ other DJ software

Cons:

Professional standpoint, not "club-worthy" more of a small gig to gig or bedroom set

Too light which feels like it's easier to snap

First-timers, invest in a lid or case to protect the platter otherwise you'll know what I mean later.

Buy Pioneer DDJ Series DDJ-WeGO BLK Digital DJ Controller, Black Now

Pros:

Controls feel logically laid out

Jog wheels are weighted

Regardless of how you feel about Virtual DJ, the software and the hardware work great together

Lots of lights on this controller. Looks great in a dark room. Lights are also useful for monitoring your mix

Controller is bus powered, meaning it takes all of its power from your computers USB port. Amazing when you consider...

...it has a built in audio interface. Plug your speakers directly into it, as well as your headphones for beat matching

Extremely portable, probably close to best in class for this, it's feature set, and price

Already key mapped for Traktor Pro 2, and they work wonderfully together

Cons:

Light weight and plasticky feeling cross fader*, but not as bad as really early offerings

Feels sturdy enough for the bedroom, not necessarily for crazy house parties

Cost is low IMO, but still possibly prohibitive to the target market

Not much else, yet, but this is my first controller so I have nothing to compare it too. And I suspect that's exactly what Pioneer has in mind

If you're thinking about starting to DJ using a controller as opposed to turntables or a CDJ, this device from Pioneer could be a great starting point. I came from using 2 Technique 1210's and a Vestax mixer over 10 years ago, to getting this on a whim and feeling like I picked up right where I left off.

It's incredibly easy to set up so you'll be spending all of your time in the mix as opposed to troubleshooting. The fact that it's bus powered is a pretty big win in my opinion. Power goes out and you can still keep it moving so long as you've got some battery powered speakers. I do...some pretty good ones from JBL and Logitech, that I usually have handy if a need arises. It's one of those things where it's really not a big deal until that one time it is....then it's amazing. Regardless of that, anything that removes a wire from my life is a good thing.

I can't speak to the durability yet as I've only had it for a short time. I can say for sure that it offers a lot for it's size and cost. Enough that it should be able to grow with me for a while until I feel I need to expand. Key word is expand, because even after I add to my rig, I can still see this serving as an FX controller for Ableton or Reason.

In short, if its your first foray into mixing with controllers, give it a shot. There are others available in this price range that in all likelihood offer similar functionality, so it could just be a matter to preference. I feel pretty good about my purchase at this point because I'm having a TON of fun.

*Edit 11/16 as the rest of the faders are pretty solid.

The Asio Sound Card that the WeGo came with keeps displaying errors. I looked it up online and it is a common occurence. Because of the sound card error the WeGo doesn't play right away and you have to keep trying to turn it off and back off again. It got pretty scary right before a gig I had when it decided to not recognize the Asio sound card. Also, everytime you try to minimize the screen our log off of the virtual dj screen it freezes everytime. So, don't try to minimize the screen while djing or you will be without music. Once it's going and you don't do anything but play music your fine.

Received the Pioneer DDJ WeGo for Christmas. I am an amateur DJ that spins house parties and the occasional reception/events for friends.

I am very happy with this controller. It is hard to beat its features/benefits for the price.

I also like that it is extremely portable. I use it with DJay by Algoriddim and it has worked flawlessly.

It is capable of handling most of the tasks that an amateur DJ would need.

I agree with other reviewers that it is likely a too small for a club DJ application...but anyone spinning at that level has the $$$ to spend on Pioneer's more professional gear.

I bought a 100-watt amp prior to this one for a small music room. That amp started distorting at normal volume settings. I returned it and bought this one. The 30-watt amp sounds just as loud (to me) and has no distortion at the same volume. For family sing-alongs, I really needed extra volume for the vocals, so I use the two 1/4" inputs for microphones, and the "line in" for a separate mixer that manages my keyboard and an electric acoustic guitar. I use the 1/4" headphone jack on my mixer. It has its own volume control, so I can control the mixer volume separate from the amp volume (note that the "line in" jack on the amp does not have its own volume control, since it's really meant for chaining another amp or sound effects device). I use the "line out" jack on the amp to run all of the combined sounds into a digital recorder. Everything works great, sounds great, and I could not be happier with this arrangement.

I bought this amp 3 months ago and have played it in jams as well as daily practice sessions. It works beautifully with my acoustic/electric Ibanez. The 30W power is just right for small gigs and jams. It gives great sound at lower settings as well as when I crank it up. The tilt-back feature is a simple device and idea that projects the sound to the audience perfectly. It is built like a tank. The reverb and setting knobs on it are a bit crowded but once you get it set, you'll not be adjusting it anyway. The one feature that persuaded me to buy this amp, besides its affordability, great looks and features,is that it is made right here in the USA.
