This wireless system is a really good middle of the road system. It isn't a cheap wanna-be toy, and it isn't an over priced waste of money either. It is a solid pro-quality kit that does it's job really well. The price makes it a no-brainer. Sure, there are systems with better sound, longer range, and smaller headpieces. You will pay big bucks for those upgrades. Line of sight, the distance of this system is very good. The sound is more than adequate for live shows (as it is designed for), and with the foam wind blocker off, the headpiece is not distracting.

If you're looking for wireless for DJ, workout, or worship use, this is your answer. I'm sure you'll be as happy with it as I am.

I purchased this mic for my church and we have been using it for almost a year now. Connecting it up and getting it working was a breeze and required only minimal knowledge of audio equipment. I use rechargeable batters for this and they have worked well. I have had a couple instances where the mic would die, but I believe this is due to the batteries not having been properly charged more then the mic draining them too fast.

The mic can be made to fit on the left or right ear and has very good pickup. I have never gotten any of the scratchy or vibration sounds you can get from other mics. I've never had a problem with reception either. The audio booth is at least 60ft from the front and it works perfectly. I record directly onto a computer and this has worked great for us!.

Overall a good quality mic, simple, but gets the job done well.

******Update April, 2013******

Still using the system weekly with no issues. I have received a few complaints about the mic fitting them well, but that is hard to account for since each person is different. Overall very pleased with the system and works very well for our needs. I might look at getting a new mic to be able to fit more people better, but otherwise no issues with this system!

I bought the Samson Concert 77 UHF TD for a small church. We didn't have a lot of money to spend and this looked like a good buy for what we needed. This system has great sound and works very well. I am pleasantly surprised for the quality of sound for the price. I have used other brands and this one sounds just as good as the more expensive brands. I highly recommend this product, it was an easy set-up and comfortable to wear. Our main speaker had never worn a mic like this and he got use to the ear piece quickly and it didn't bother him. I am impressed!

I have been using this wireless headset mic in a church environment and have found it works really well. Whereas our omini lapel mic gets all kinds of feedback problems none come from the headset. So big ticks there! The quality of sound is also excellent compared with other mics. We hve several other radio mics amd there is no interference with any of them from the Samson. One very important note is that the SE10 Headset fits very comfortably over the ear. I've used other brand headsets and found them to be uncomfortable, moving from position and often needing tape to hold them not so with the Samson.

Overall, I can honestly say it's an excellent mic and good value for money too!

I actually really like this microphone. I wanted something that would keep my hands free, but wouldn't be big and obtrusive like a standard wireless headset mic with the big, black foam ball.

The sound is very clear out of this mic. It takes a little bit of playing around with the arm, as it's very rigid even though it's meant to be bent, but once you get it in position it's fine.

There are 2 things I don't really like about this mic, one minor annoyance and one that almost caused me to send it back.

First is the beltpack. There are actually 2 switches on it. The power switch is inside the battery door, and then the transmit switch is on the top of the beltpack. The first half-dozen times I used it, I forgot to turn off the power inside the door when I was done. I went through a lot of batteries those first 3 weeks or so. I wish they'd integrated it into one 3-position switch on the top of the unit the way many other manufacturers do. I have a concern that the tabs on the battery door will eventually break having to open and close it so often.

The second thing is the biggie, and almost caused me to send it back. This mic was getting interference from somewhere...I have no idea where...even when there were no other wireless mics on. If the beltpack was on but not transmitting, and the receiver was also on, you'd get very, very loud static through the speakers. I'm using this for large public speaking engagements, so the PA volume is generally pretty high. The only way to mitigate this is to turn the squelch ALL THE WAY up. There's a little knob inside the transmitter, and one on the head unit. After that, it performed pretty much flawlessly.

The problem with this isn't so much that you have to adjust it (though you'd think they'd pre-adjust it out of the factory) the problem is that nowhere in the instructions or on their website is there information on about what to do if you get interference. They mention the squelch knobs in the book, but only in passing. Had I not been experienced with audio gear, and had a sound guy I could count on to help me adjust it, I doubt I'd figure it out.

In summary, the sound quality is quite good for a mic in this price range, but the setup leaves a little to be desired if you start getting interference. I've seen a couple of reviews mentioning this problem, so if you're going to order this mic please keep in mind that you're probably going to have to adjust the squelch on it.

This product was even better than I expected. My CD changer went out and while I was doing research on finding a 5 disc changer (which they don't seem to make anymore) I came across "Monster Cables." Found one for about $15 and it's the best purchase I've made this summer. Connects so easily to anything with an earphone jack and then an auxilary port on your home stereo system. I'm using it on my old iPod for Pandora and Janga.... and any music I load onto it. Great sound!!!!!!

This is a great cable at a great price from Amazon. It works with my iPhone3Gs, iPod, and MacBookPro. For just a few bucks I can now play all my music through my home stereo and it sounds great.

I bought these to replace a cheaper cable that kept falling out. A standard headphone plug is far superior to RCA jacks, but that's the radio the car came with. These fit tightly and stay put. Also, the 6 foot length allows someone in the back seat to control the iPod or whatever the other end of the cable is connected to. The cord itself is thick and stiff, and the metal fittings are top-notch, giving the feeling of solid quality that Monster cables are known for. It's a great product and highly recommended if you only need sound and not video.

Want MONSTER 123874 Monster Icable for Ipod and Iphone Discount?

This is a nice premium-feeling cable set. I bought it because the listing said it was specifically for iPhone. Well, Monster describes the item as "for iPod and Mac" on the package, and the vendor has pasted over that with a home-made label that says "for iPod and iPhone." The mini plug end of the cable is too wide to fully plug into the recessed area around the iPhone jack. iPhones have a curved profile around the headphone jack area. The unit plugs in and functions fine, but just doesn't look perfect. Still, it works, so I am keeping it, it just does not fit as flush as I was hoping. The cable was pretty seriously crimped in one spot where it was folded into the package, but I guess it's OK. It sounds great and feels very sturdy, and is long enough that it reaches to the middle captain's chairs in my van. it comes with a little storage bag. It would be perfect if it was perfectly sculpted to fit my iPhone, and if it came with some sort of cable management piece to keep the cable organized at different lengths.

These cables are great for connecting portable audio gear with stereo components and/or computer interfaces. The 7' length is really helpful.

I am one of those people that constantly buy earphones this is over the last 10 years. My most recent aquisition before the Q350's, was the Klipsch S4i wich are exellent headphones as well and award winners. The Q350 headphones when compared to the S41's have better overall range. You can hear midrange with ease when compared to the S4i's and just about every other in ear headphones that I've ever used or owned and I've owned quite a few. In ear's from Sony, Klipsch, V-moda, Skull Candy, Apple and Bose. Most in ear's that I've used have decent low's and highs with little in between. The S4i's, for instance, have very solid thumping base, ok midrange and exellent high's. The Q350's have good bass (not as good on the low end as the S4i's), exellent mid range and treble and a better db rating than just about any othe in ear headphones on the market. It's kind of hard to describe exactly how the Q350's sound. They have big headphone presance. You can more easily pick out intruments and back lines in a composition than other in-ears, and some full sized headphones I've used. You'll never know what you have been missing until you listen to these headphones.

Pro's

Exellent construction

Exellent sound (not as bassy as some)

Big headphone presance 121db

Cord seem's to have a good design and protection.(more durable than the S4i's,wich lasted 8 months, V-moda's lasted 2 months, Sony lasted 6 months, for me)

Microphone and controls also seem good.

Cons

Short cord, long enough to place in your pocket.(not really a con for me)

Can be chalenging to get in your ear with good a seal. (easy enough to figure out though)

A bit lager than most in-ear headphones

I've only had these for 1 month

and will update if needed.

This is the best in-ear earphone so far. i used to have the S4i(Klipsch, it was good at its bass but not so good on the mid and low, the bass sometimes try to overtake the mid or maybe u cant hear it at all) but once I insert this Q350 into my ear, u can feel a huge difference already, i've tried sampling some in ear earphone available in the market but so far none can match this yet. I guarantee those who bought it will start enjoying hearing music again like first love.. i cant describe it very much, because "listening is believing". to me this earphone is the masterpiece so far and glad to have more once i got my paycheck :) for backup in case the controller broken.

As a reference, I've been using the Sennheiser CX300-B In-Ear Stereo Headphonefor the past year or two. At first I wasn't convinced there was much of a sound difference between the cx300's and these AKG's. However, after some more dedicated listening, there definitely IS a difference.

The AKG Q350's put out much better bass response. I listened to a variety of music from classical to pop, vocal, and rock, and what I found was that the AKG's opened up the low end to the musical notes of low-frequency instruments like bass guitars and cellos, as well as providing extra punch for drums and other percussion. The Sennheiser's were noted in some reviews for their good bass response, but there really is no comparison to the AKG's. For non-critical listening, you might not notice the difference, but once you take time to carefully listen to the same material using lower quality headphones compared to these, you won't want to go back. You find notes, sounds, echos that you hadn't heard before. The music has more depth and a fuller, more realistic presence. For me it was more noticable on instrumental pieces than with rock/metal. The latter does benefit from the extra punch.

The AKG's also have really nice treble response, and I felt like I could better tell where instruments were placed. Overall, with the AKG's I could clearly tell that the quality of the MP3/iTunes encoding was the limiting factor of the sound quality not the headphones themselves. If you get a set of these, you might want an audio player that can handle a lossless codec to get the full benefit.

They are very comfortable more so than the Senn's. I wore them several hours at a time without discomfort. They block out office and home sounds well on par with other earbuds. Cable noise is less than those of the Senn's and they have equal-length cable ends.

Quality is very nice. At the earbud end, the strain relief is molded onto the cable which provides a stiffer feel and gives you something to grab onto when putting them in or out. The wire is a bit thicker than that of the Sennheisers. The included case is a clamshell style, closes with a zipper and has the hard foam exterior and soft-cloth lined interior. The case is big enough to fit a small mp3 player, an iPod suffle or the Nano G6. *See the product pictures I uploaded for more what the case looks like.*

The inline mic and controls work well for my ipod. They allow you to control volume as well as pause the music even if the hold switch on the iPod is engaged. So you could lock the iPod and put it in your pocket, then still be able to control the volume and playback.

With my blackberry, it functions as earbuds, but I was not able to use it to control hands-free features. I'm not sure if it's supposed to or not the documentation wasn't really clear on this. I also have to insert the cord partway into my blackberry until it picks up the sound, then push it in the rest of the way or else it doesn't work. My guess is that this is more of a blackberry issue (mine is 2.5 years old and pretty beat up). Although the inline controls don't do anything during music playback or while on a call, it does work as a headset for talking on calls. The left/right indicators are very small on the earbuds, and can only be seen when looking straight at the part inserted into your ear. Therefore, the inline control makes it easy to see which is left/right. These do not include a shirt clip, so it does fumble around when on a call.

This is the most expensive pair of headphones I've owned, so I can't directly compare them to others at the same price point. The price difference between my old Sennheisers and the AKG Q350's is pretty substantial, however, if you desire higher quality sounds where you can actually hear and almost feel those low-end notes, these are worth the investment. Also, the lower cord-noise effect makes them better for working out, even if you don't necessarily need the extra audio quality.

Other Items:

Mine did not come with a cable winder or any of the headphone adapters (airline, 2.5mm or 6.3mm). I also believe the product description (as of 12/2010) mistakenly says these have detachable cords that's the higher end model. I'm not deducting any stars for this, as I received the black & green version free through the Vine program and sometimes we get "pre-release" versions vs. the true retail version. Since these are offered in 3 color variations I'm posting this review for each. Update: I received a reply from my inquiry to AKG about this. They state that the Q350's should only come with the case and cord winder. Mine only had the case, though.

BOTTOM LINE: These in-ear headphones are a vast improvement over any stock earphones you might get from a retail package of an iPod, or any mobile phone, although you can probably find other products that are comparable or even better in performance given the price point of these IEMs.

The sound on these guys are great. The bass is clearly there for all the bass-heads (sufficient without being overwhelming), and the mid-range is excellent. There is something quirky with the treble though, the highs almost seem a little warped like they're being distorted to be overly clear and sharp. At the beginning, I was a little bothered by this. But, after close to 30 hours of burn-in, I'm actually pretty satisfied with the way they sound (whether this is from burn-in or my ears becoming adjusted to the slightly funky treble I can't verify, but either way I'm happy as it is). My opinion is that these provide a balanced sound PROVIDED that your source is of at the very minimum 192kbs music (320 kbs preferable), because let's be honest, you will be hard pressed to find a set of IEMs that can produce good sound when playing source music that is a compressed 128kbs.

I know some people have complained about the tips not fitting well, but the tips that were already on the buds out of the package fit perfectly for me. As far as insulation goes, getting a proper seal will insulate fairly well and zone out ambient noise, but if you're looking for some serious noise cancellation or insulation IEMs, I would say that these are in the middle of the pack and you'd be better off looking elsewhere.

As far as construction goes, for $99 I have to admit it definitely feels a bit cheap with the plastic-y touch (granted, that's what makes these light, which is a plus for carrying around). The style points are obviously there, with the lime green wire and the black buds but dropping a hundo, one would think that AKG could afford to put a little more effort into sturdier construction. The cord is a little on the short end, but still sufficient to have it reach your ears from an ipod in your pocket. These do NOT come with a case winder just a light hard/soft shell case for carrying it around in.

Overall, a great pair of IEMs that really raise the level of performance over stock equipment. I am OK with these guys since I got them for $50, but if you are paying retail $99 for them, I would say that there are probably better bets out there like the Klipsch S4/S4i/S5 (although I hear these are bass-heavy) for cheaper. But, if you can snag these guys at a discount I would say they are definitely worth every penny, and as far as style goes these are one of the best looking budget sets out there!!

For the most part I have not been happy with the quality of sound that comes out of in-ear headphones, but Q350 headphones have really impressed me. They are much more expensive than your average in-ear headphones, and I was wondering if the higher price was really justified. I like to listen to music all the time, but I don't consider myself much of an audiophile I rarely pay attention to the subtleties of sound, especially if I am listening to pop music. However, even my untrained ears were instantly able to appreciate the high sound quality that these earphones delivered. When listening to some of my favorite movie soundtracks I was able to hear sounds and nuances that I never noticed before. When listening to recordings of classical music performances I could clearly hear the slight shuffling of the musicians and other "unintended" sounds. This made the listening that much more vivid. The high notes were particularly crisp, the low ones rich and reverberating. As far as the sound quality is concerned, these headphones definitely deliver on their promise. Anyone who is interested in amplifying his or her music listening experience, regardless of the level of their musical sophistication, will certainly appreciate these headphones.

These headphones seem to have some kind of passive noise-canceling functionality, although for some reason I didn't see any of the promotional material advertising this fact. This seems unfortunate, as the noise canceling feature is also better than anything I had come across before in headphones, passive or active. Even just having the headphones stuck in your ears will ensure that a large part of ambient noise is blocked.

I have tested these headphones with several iOS devices iPhone 3G, iPhone 4 and the first generation iPad. They worked well with all of these devices, replicating all the functionality of the standard Apple headphones. However, despite what the description for these headphones says, they do not have track skipping functionality. However, in every regard that I could think of these headphones are far superior to the Apple ones they are more stylish, more durable and, of course, provide much superior sound quality.

The headphones work well for telephony. From my experience with other noise-canceling headphones I was apprehensive about the muffled sound that such headphones give to your own vice while calling, but this turned out to be just a minor issue with Q350s. Still, if you are primarily interested in headphones that will be used as a headset for your phone then Q350 may not be the best option for you.

The headphones come with three different sizes of ear pads. The medium sized ones will probably fit most ears, and they are also very comfortable. I've had them in my ears for hours at a time, without any noticeable discomfort. However, if you intend to use these headphones while engaged in a physical activity you may notice that the most comfortable size of ear cushions may be too loose. In that case one size larger may do the trick.

The earphones come with a carrying case, which I don't see myself using at all. They, however, do not come with the cable-winder. This is not such a big deal for me, but I do wish they didn't include the mention of it on the box and on the Amazon website.

Overall, these are really great in-ear headphones that will be appreciated by most music lovers.

I love my DD55. It can fill several needs for any drummer of any skill level. It wll lack if you need a performing/recording solution. No one should expect to pay less than $2000 for that type of gear and this is not it.

You could perform live with the DD55 but would need to augment it with real kick drum and cymbals and most likely a snare. You could experiment and learn Midi with the DD55. You can take it on the road as a better alternate to a practice pad. Perfect for impromptu jam sessions at the park or beach(although the onboard speakers are weak). For parents oppressed by the constant sound suppression from new and young drummers the DD55 can provide relief(headphones included). For the money there is NO better money spent exploring electronic drums for the first time.

I have found ways to deal with the pedals which aren't great but are more than usable. Construction of the DD55 is solid although it does appear a bit lightweight. The DD55 is not a toy but an economical solution for several issues any drummer faces at various times during their time skinnin'.

I highly recommend getting a Quik-Loc stand.

In closing I plan on buying a second DD55

I love drums and rythim so I decided to learn how to play drums. I decided to buy something not to expensive nor too big so that it would not became a problem if I got disappointed during the learning process. Well, I have this set for one month now and I'm satisfied with it and it had served it purpose which is to initiate myself in the art of drumming. However, I must warn you, it's a toy, do not be fool by it having pedals and all, the product will not give you the real feeling that more professional drum sets can give. I'm already thinking about buying a serious equipment, but it won't be until I finished my basic learning phase

Sound isn't that great through the built in speakers, but if you hook it up to more powerfull speakers or a guitar amp it sounds really good. For a more realistic feel, here are some accessories to get:

Great electronic drum set for a very reasonable price. Once you hook it up to a larger speaker it sounds like an authentic drumset.

I recommend the Sony ECM-DS70P stereo microphone.

This mic is great to use with the Sony Mini disc recorders such as MZ-N707 and up. Although it is referred as uni directional, I have found the stereo separation very good.

As you are recording yourself with other singers for example you distinctly hear the vocal separation or instrument separation on playback so, then you can get an interesting separated sound by adjusting the mike direction.

So, even though the L and R mics are close together they must be facing in different directions to get that quality of separation.

There probably are better mikes, and I am sure they cost more money. I am critical of what sound goes in my ears, and this is excellent for my needs, which is self recording, recording voice lessons, live performances etc.

I hope this review was helpful.

I bought this mic for two reasons:

1. It is stereo not mono

2. I just bought a Kodak Zi8 Digital Camcorder

Although the sound is surprisingly good on the Zi8, it has an external Stereo mic jack. The Sony ECM-DS70P is highly regarded and works perfectly with the Zi8. There is a notable difference in the sound when I use the Sony mic. You can clearly hear the stereo sound difference when recording in a 360 degree environment (like outside in a playground or other event). I have also used it for voice recording and it does a nice job there as well.

(2008 HOLIDAY TEAM)This unit is not as compatible as compared to others. But, what it loses in compatibility it makes up for in features. It's wonderfully small and works great with Sony MD recorders. True, it isn't as versitile as the battery models, but it's a lot smaller too. If you just want to do MD recording, this is the unit for you.

The sound quality is sufficiently clear when recording, but is not sensitive enough to satisfy the most demanding users such as musicians or professional reporters. You need a relatively strong source.

Here's one MD player recorder that I know has the microphone jack and works great with this microphone:

'Sony MZ-NF810CK Net MD MiniDisc Recorder with Car Kit'

However, don't be fooled. Not every MD player has the appropriate Mic Jack. Double Check the technical documentation to make sure. Units that definitely do not have it are:

'Sony MZ-NE410 High Speed Net MD Walkman Recorder'

Notice the deceptive "Recorder" moniker in the product name. Don't be fooled! Very few MD "recorders" actually record with a microphone!

Not sure about these:

'Sony MZ-NF610 High Speed Net MD Walkman Recorder'

'Sony MZ-N510CK NetMD Walkman/Recorder with Car Kit'

'Sony MZ-N505 Net MD Walkman Player/Recorder'

Do your research before purchasing any MD player. All in all, this is a good value and the ideal microphone for those wanting to record onto a Sony MD.

I am a musician and own my own studio in Nashville, TN. I have thousands of dollars worth of microphones. This product is what it is and for the money is a brilliant little microphone. Even though I have a 250 track digital recording studio, sometimes I want to record without doing a major "studio" setup. I bought a Boss Micro BR and this mic to go with it. This is a fantastic combination. The sound is definitely studio quality. I did a location recording of a simple trumpet and piano. Rather than drag my whole set up I took the Micro BR and this mic and made a very fine sounding recording. I got a pair of windscreens that were made for a telephone headset. I put one over each side of this mic and never take them off. This mic does have its limitations and does not sound as good as my $650 studio vocal mic for sure, but that's not what it is intended for. This is for portability with clear crisp sound. With a Micro BR it's a phenomenal combination. I almost didn't buy the Micro BR because it only has a mono on board mic, but I ordered this mic to go with it and I'm so glad I did. This magic combo is a serious upgrade from a Zoom H2 or H4 and for less money go figure. Sony well done.

Contrary to earlier review, this microphone works GREAT with devices other than Sony; just make sure that your recording device provides plug power. I use this microphone with my iRiver iHP-120 20GB MP3 Jukebox --records great stereo sound directly into MP3s. Fantastic for recording my kids' concerts. Highly, highly recommended.

I recently purchased the Vox AMPlug for Bass, because it was the most compact headphone amp I could find for my travel bass. It truly is a great headphone amp with great sound and great FX. It's got that groovy and classic Vox AC100 bass amp sound that truly inspires. With the right headphones/earphones, I worry that I'm blasting my neighbors. Thankfully they can't hear a thing.

The only initial negative is that the construction is flimsier than it looks. The battery door barely stays on, and the gain, tone and volume "wheels" are hard to see and access.

Aside from that, I highly recommend it.

I purchased this because I just started playing bass again this past year and all the practice amps under $200 just sounded weak or farty to me, and I tried quite a few! I needed something to tide me over so I can practice and play along with CD's etc until I drop the cash on good combo at least 50 watts and 12" speaker equipped.

Tone: I honestly enjoy the tone from this little headphone amp more than some of those 20 watt combos I have tried out. I have a Jazz bass with passive pickups, and this headphone accurate amplifies that Fender tone with just the amount of "Coloration". My only complain is that in standard mode the volume ius just not as loud as I would have liked. Its totally usable, but if you want it blaring loud it just doesn't get there. Not with passive pickups. More on that later...

Controls: Gain, Tone, and Volume. Simple as that. I like the seperate gain knob. Seems out of place on a bass amplifier but its nice to play the gain and the master volume off of each other for the right amount of gain / attack / volume. The tone knob offers a drastic range but to me the sweet spot is right in the middle, and the upper and lower ends of the spectrum sound strange muted or plucky.

FX: The switch has 3 settings, "Standby" (which is off), then "On" for standard mode, and then "FX" mode. Here you have gain boost and some light / moderate compression. You get far more volume from the unit in this mode, but have to dial back the gain to get a normal clean bass tone that seems usable to me. I have found I like the standard mode for normal solo playing /practicing as the tone has a nice balance of warm / punchiness. Then when I plus in my mp3 player to jam or I'm in a noisy environment I use the FX mode for the boosted sound.

Reliability: I can't comment too much as I have not had it very long. Some commenters have mentioned the build seems a bit cheap. Its definitely flimsy plastic and should not be abused like a stompbox would be. Mine does fit perfectly into the input jack of my Jazz bass, some have posted issues with that.

Usability: I give it 5 out of 5 stars here. Its simple, its user friendly, its dirt cheap and super compact compared to bass preamps on the market. I would have never thought I could practice an instrument while traveling (it and a pair of headphones slip right in my gig bag) or practice at home with decent bass tone and not need an amp or cable.

More than often, you need a silent solution to practice bass wherever, and this product makes it possible. Although the strings obviously still make noise, it's perfect for those sleepless nights when you want to play and not bother anyone in the house. You can plug your ipod in it and play along your music, you'll just need one of those aux wires. Careful with the volume, as it overpowers some headphones and you really don't want to be blowing expensive headphones

Does what I need it to, when I need it. What's better than that? More features, of course. But then you'd pay more for it. If you're looking for inexpensive that delivers, this is it.

I want to start off positive here because I am giving it 2.5 stars...

I have had this unit for just shy of 4 years now and it still works, even after bouncing around the inside of every case, gigbag, backpack, and rucksack or assault pack (yes, I am in the Army, and yes, I took this on deployment haha) I've owned! It is very solid and durable if you're not catching on!

When I first bought it, I thought it was so amazing to hear my bass in my headphones without bugging anyone else, and I could go for walks around the neighborhood having a silent jam as I went -pretty freakin sweet!

But the tone was always an issue for me. It always sounded SO dark and muddy that it was hard to enjoy the sound of my own bass sometimes. I found one or two settings that gave a DECENT tone but you roll one control wheel the wrong way in the slightest and you lose all clarity in sound.

The "Bass" AmPlug special feature is a "fx compression" circuit. I wasn't thrilled with it initially because it seemed to have no use whatsoever on my basses aside from blasting me with WAY too much sound no matter HOW low I turned the controls. I figured at the time that I had cheaper gear, and nothing active, so maybe that was the function issue. Nope. I own a beautiful, 1976 Gibson Ripper and a pristine, 2008 Musicman Stingray5 HH....these are my two best basses. One passive, one active (respectively). Both sound like complete garbage through this unit with the compression switch active.

In the end, I bought mine when they cost no more than $20, and it has lasted my nearly 4 years now, 3 of which have been in the Army (so mucho abuse). If you thin-out your tone and crank the highs on your bass, you can get a decent sound out of this sucker, but you really have to work for it (so do yourself a favor and right down the "sweet-spot" settings you find!). I felt it was very-well priced and an irreplacable tool for bassists everywhere. It's hard enough to find a decent-sounding stage rig without blowing your pockets up, and we all know there is next to nothing on the market for us in headphoneor mini-amps.

My advice? pick one up today and test it out. If you can get two, maybe three good tones out of it that you're happy to hear, buy it without question. The new price is...rough, but bassists always had to shell out more dough than our 6-string bretherin!

Bought this amplifier a few weeks ago for a 12-year old playing an acoustic-electric guitar. The amp looks nice, is handy for practicing and sounds great with both acoustic and electric guitars. I have compared its 6 1/2" speaker with some 5" 8" ones and let me tell you, this baby is no match. It blows them away big time -both sound and power wise.

The production date shows 2011 and so, it's been sitting on the shelf somewhere. But there is no buzz or hum and the options (gain, volume, boost, treble, mid, bass, phone) give you all you need from a practice amp producing a good, clear and crispy sound. I would not hesitate to use it on stage, too. I don't understand how people could miss this one.

The only thing I am missing is some feature on the controls to indicate their relative left/right position. However, control reliability is more important than visual reference and I can compromise on that. The controls feel smooth and solid.

Now I see the price is up by over $14.00 to $59.23, putting it next to Fender Frontman 10G that has the same features and a smaller speaker. However, I would not trade this amp for any other one I have tested including Frontman. If you see no update below, then the Archer GA-15 still rocks and the kid is happy with it.
