I'm a long-time pro player, and have always been skeptical of combo amps. Either they didn't have a good sound, or not much power for the size. Plus, my main rig is a Mesa Boogie Bass 400, so I'm a tube amp guy. But, I started looking around for something smaller for small gigs. I looked at a bunch of combo amps, and this one is great. I played through several amps with a 12 inch speaker, but when you started cranking on them, they sounded like, well, a 12 inch speaker box. This amp is not the case. It has a 15 and a horn, and has great sound. It sounds like a real bass amp, and not a solid state PA amp! And, so far, it has been plenty loud enough for small gigs. It has a low-z out if I need to put it through the PA. It doesn't have a bunch of pre-set modeling sounds, but it does have a couple "quickie" buttons for punch and mid presets. But, I don't use them. I get what I want out of it by just a little tweaking of the 4 band EQ. It sounds like a stage bass amp should sound big, warm, and punchy. And, it has a couple of controls to simulate tube amp sounds. They work pretty good. Since it has removeable wheels, it sounds different on some stages with wheels off. Try it both ways. I play though it with three different basses with different pickup configurations. They all sound great through it. Plus, this amp is Fender quality. Just remember, this is only a 150 watt amp. It's loud for 150 watts, but for a really big stage, or big gig, you may need a bigger amp. Nonetheless, you could spend a lot more and end up with a lot less. My daughter was playing electric guitar for some time and now she decided to play bass. Because the regular amp can't hanlde bass guitar well, we did what I think the best way to choose an amp went to a store and just started trying out different amps they had there.We started with Rumble 75 and it was ok, but not that great. Than we went through some other amps until we tried that one. Apparently, this one is quite special. It has a combination of a huge 15" speaker, a dedicated horn for the highs and a large cabinet. Apparently, in the bass world, the size really matters. The Rumble 350 can go much louder, but no other amp (well, in similar price range) could deliver the sounds of the 150.
And one more thing. You may think "I don't need that much power cause I have a small place, so let's get something smaller". That logic may work for regular guitar amp, but for the bass you just can't get right sound off the smaller box. So you may never crank up volume to pump out all 150 watts, but you'll still be better off with a bigger amp, it's not about the volume, it just sounds better.
Bottom line is this amp really stands out for the price and fundamentaly it has some better components so you should take a look at this one.

I got this combo amp because the thought of moving my 8x10 Ampeg made me want to cry. I went out and plugged into this at the store expecting horrid sound. Instead, this little guy sounded GREAT! And it is surprisingly LOUD.I was planning on just using it for one show and returning it. I played a packed show at a packed 200 capacity club, and I received a ton of compliments from both the crowd and other bassists. In addition, loading and unloading the Rumble was a breeze. The wheels worked perfectly.
My only complaint is not having any rear inputs. I also use a rack for effects, wireless, and a tuner. The rack's cables come out the back, so I'm forced to stretch the cords around to the front of the rig.
Also, there's no compressor built in. You will need a seperate pedal or effects processor for that.
Otherwise, this combo amp is light, portable, and gig ready!

I liked the sound of this amp in the store but not when I got it home. The store was loud with someone banging on the drums and several people trying out guitar amps so I didn't notice at the time that the Rumble 150 has a cooling fan. This is not unusual for bass amps and it isn't a problem if you are always playing it loud (i.e. with a band). However, if you want to also use it at home to practice at lower volume levels the fan noise will drive you nuts. It makes a lot of noise even while all the knobs are turned all the way down and the horn is off.I returned it for a Gallien Krueger MB210. The GK is very quiet at low levels (except for the tweeter but that can be turned off). The GK also is a more powerful amp than the Fender in case you do want to play it loud and need to compete with a drummer. In my opinion the GK has a lot more wide ranging sound possibilities than the Fender Rumble 150. Admittedly, the GK cost more than the Fender but if you can afford it and if you need an amp that can be quiet when you want but also very loud when you want, get a GK.
