I purchased this item to use with my phone's headphones as a replacement cable for my original that wore down. I use it everyday to listen to music on my commute to work while riding public transit, as well at my desk at work. I've owned it for a few weeks now and wanted to share my thoughts.

First off, the description reads "3 feet". It is actually almost 4 feet long which really disappointed me. For some that might be a positive, but for me that was a big negative. I wanted a 3 foot cable because that's just the right length. Any longer and the cable becomes more difficult to manage. I feel that I was lied to...the seller misrepresented the product they were selling. (side note: I find it odd that a 3 foot cable was surprisingly very difficult to locate on Amazon)

If the only problem with this product was that it was longer than advertised, I probably would have given it 3 stars. But the biggest issue I've found is its poor construction quality. Apparently I am a heavy user of headphones and audio cable because I have been through about a half dozen over the past 5 years or so...almost 1 per year. I admit it, I abuse these things, to a certain extent. But this cable is by far the flimsiest one I've encountered. Anyone who's had an audio cable give out on them will probably notice that it's at the base of the cable, the connector, where the wire begins to fail and the user notices audio that is barely audible. It starts with just a little sound giving out, but if you wiggle the connector then you can hear it fine again...for a while. But inevitably it fails and you're left with a useless cable. As I said, I've owned this for maybe 3 weeks, and already I'm needing to wiggle the cable to hear audio. I expect it to fail anyday now.

On the positive side, they were inexpensive. I don't regret trying them, but I simply cannot recommend these, particularly for anyone who plans to use it with a phone/MP3 player. If it's going to sit on a shelf and never be touched, it would probably be fine. Otherwise, I recommend you avoid this product.

Worked great for about two weeks, before the rubber casing came off and the copper wires inside started to fray. I was using it with an iPod while jogging, so probably it would last longer in less hostile circumstances.

Very affordable option but unfortunately it doe snot work properly therefore I'm going to have to purchase another extension cable.

Considering that the main purpose of this product is to transmit sound, this product fails at that, hence 1 star. I couldn't hear one of the channels. It looks like a stereo cable, but you will get one of the channels split into two.
