I have several of this (stereo/TRS) format Splitter/Y-Cables and several of the standard (mono/TS) format and they are a lifesaver when needed in the studio or when trying to test out gear. These stereo (TRS) 1/4" Splitter/Y-Cables are great for splitting headphones or other stereo input or output signals for various musical uses and are quite solidly built.

I have even started to look for the HOSA brand on the adapter and patch cables I am buying as the price is always great and every HOSA cable I have gotten so far (around 20-25 misc cables/adapters) has been top quality and very well built, not to mention inexpensive!

The Hosa YPP118 is a 1/4" stereo splitter cable. If you're looking for a good price on a splitter for headphones, this is it. The male end is a standard quarter inch stereo plug. There is about three inches of wire separating the male from the two female ends. Those are standard quarter inch stereo, too. All you have to do is plug the male end into your receiver, then plug two headphones into the female ends.

I noticed a slight volume reduction when splitting the signal. There was no added noise. The quality seems high. My headphone plugs fit in snugly, but not too tightly. The wire separating the male and female ends is flexible and covered by a good amount of pliable plastic. It doesn't feel like it's going to wear through or short out with common use.

The only thing that seems low grade on them is the finish. There's some rough edges on the plastic, looks like they are from the mold.

The connection on this cable could be better. Occasionally have had to twist the connection to reestablish a signal after either all sound or 1 channel has dropped out. This usually occurs upon initial insertion and has less frequently occurred in the middle of listening. Like I said, it happens occasionally so I'm ok with it given how inexpensive this was.

This is a great 1/4" Stereo Y-Adapter. The connectors are molded and the wire gauge is more than sufficient for general use. These are great for splitting one stereo (or balanced audio) signal into two ports.

If you think outside the box, you'll also come up with other great uses for this... for example, if you need a female jack that needs to be wired into something, buying this adapter effectively gives you two of those. Simply chop off the male end of the adapter. I've used this for a cheap alternative to adding 1/4" outputs, or making cable adapters.
