First let me start by saying my packaging arrived with no instructions. I may have been the unlucky 1 in 100 but just in-case others have the same issue, it has been noted.
The construction of the headphones feels decent, not great but not too cheap. Comfort is better suited for smaller heads, as my big head started feeling a bit squeezed with the earpiece pressure against my ear.
Sound is acceptable, but I wasn't looking for awesome sound quality at this price.
Button design and usage could be much improved.
The first button is power and also preset Gene Equalizer. Press and hold to power on/off. Press and release to change from pop/rock/flat (please note this info is provided without the use of a manual), I found only 3 types of Gene presets.
The Second button is a multifunction button. Press inward for pause, when in mp3 mode. Press and hold to switch between fm radio and mp3 audio. Slide forward/backward for fm station or mp3 selection. Slide and hold forward/backward for volume.
Only one indicator light. The light turns red when charging and goes out when charging is completed. The same light turns blue when powered on. There is no lcd screen or other indicators of any type.
When powered on the unit always starts in mp3 mode, if no mp3 card is available then it starts in Radio mode. The volume will reset to a medium level (not high but not low). The last tuned station is remembered. In mp3 mode the last played song is also remembered, but only from beginning, not from where you left off.
Stations are auto-tuned so you may have trouble with weaker stations. You are not able to manually tune in a weak station. You also not able to fast-forward or rewind to a specific point in an mp3 song.
Charging is done via usb mini port. Dont' get this confused with the new usb micro.
The mini-sd card is a little difficult for my big fingers to pull out. I tested it using a 2GB card with 3 songs loaded.
