fantastic little practice amp with enough headroom for some lower volume gigs. Keeping in mind that it is a 15 watt 6.5 inch speaker...dont ever think you'll be playing metal with a loud drummer and double bass and expect to cut through with this. but if you are playing without a drummer (maybe just a hand percussionist) or a conservative drummer it will cut through no problem, even a moderate drummer youll be able to hear this little guy. Its tone is bright and spanky yet strangely warm. thinking only of guitar plugged in with no effects it is well suited for some cleaner blues, more modern jazz stuff does the old school R&B chimey stuff really well (think bold as love by hendrix) It isn't the best thing in the world for old school jazz. for the wes montgomery thing rolling the tone off the guitar gets a little bit muddy, not bad but def not a fender twin or AER warm. with all that said it takes pedals well. despite its obvious limitations you can't expect to play a 50,000 seat rock venue with an amp that you can lift with your pinky, i think its a great amp that for rehearsals and jams with friends and even some lower volume gigs (think restaurant type of gig) works really really well and for the price? can't beat it. (p.s. its louder than its 25 watt version, although that amp is alittle more full bodied tone so its better for more classic jazz stuff) have both keeping them both because they are two extremely different amps.
