We had a problem with the first unit shipped; one headphone system was defective. The Supplier sent an entire new system back when we shipped the old complete unit back to them. The sound quality is not top of the line; however, it is very acceptable in a small environment. Feedback is rare even though the speakers are only 20 feet from the mike. The individual mike level potentiometers and led indicators are a plus; I noticed a level difference from the headsets to the handheld mikes and the level can be adjusted via these potentiometers. Compared to the professional unit that was replaced, this Pyle unit is twice the quality. Pyle PDWM4300 4 Mic VHF Wireless Microphone System

For the price of this unit, I will rate the unit as very good.

We were looking for some wireless mics for our mobile DJ business. I looked locally and could not find a price that I was happy with. I don't do much Internet shopping, so I was a bit reluctant to buy something online. The quality of this product resolved that fear I had of getting "ripped off". The microphones hooked up very easily to our existing equipment, and the instruction were written in plain wording so there was no way you could screw it up. I easily got a good 230 foot range out of the mic. I feel that for the price I paid, i will be very happy with this product for a long, long time.

Product works great for the price. We use it for backup vocals at our church and the sound quality through our system is fine. It didn't come with the clip-on mics as advertised but I called the customer service number and they sent them out right away. Customer service was very good. All in all a fine product for this price range and you will not be disappointed

I have used pa and sound systems for many years and recently installed this unit in my church...I performs OK, but for the money, I expected more... this is my second unit, I use one for DJ'ng and it could be better, it sometimes cuts in and out and one of the mic's has already failed... it does have a 1 year warrenty on the product but Pyle will need to see all the components to fix it or replace it. The Unit is OK but I would not buy another...

I was apprehensive to purchase this product after reading some of the reviews and vowed that I would send it back for a full refund at the first sign of trouble. I received it quickly and got to the testing. To my surprise this non costly system rocks! I had my wife walk outside in the backyard with the headset on while I stayed in the house and they worked just fine! So they worked through the walls and from at least 75 feet away! I think some of the reviews are based on user error. You have to make sure that the button on the power source is set at 110V (standard for most sockets) not 220V. If it's set on 220V you will get the feedback and the mics won't work or they will go in and out. The sound quality is not the best but what do you expect for the money you spend on it. It definitely gets the job done!

The Behringer HPX2000 is a quality product and is a steal at the offered price. It is a well constructed, comfortable, and high performance sound reproduction instrument with excellent frequency range. I bought this product based on my knowledge of the Behringer microphone line but with some reservation of its earphone line given the low prices. However, after receiving the HPX2000 headset, I've used it on everything from portable CD players, my home entertainment center, my polyphonic synthesizer, and single side band radio transmission equipment and I've found the sound reproduction to be as good or better than prior Sony studio headphones that I've owned in the past. Given the durable construction, these headphones should last for years. And, I find the one-quarter inch plug and 2 meter cord length to definite pluses both in terms of the larger diameter, sturdier cable used and not finding myself running over and damaging the cable with the wheels of my chair. Don't hesitate to buy this product. You won't do better at multiples of this price.

These are great. I am buying a second pair to keep at work. The sound is great, especially for the price. They also have a pretty long cord, which is great for me, as the standard 3m cords are too short in my opinion.

I also use these for DJ use, although I only DJ at my house, so take that for what it's worth. I had a pair of $200 Sony DJ headphones, and they were slightly better than these. Except that they broke. Twice. They were replaced by warranty the first time, but not the second. For a little over a tenth of the price, I got headphones that I like about 90% as much. That's a good deal in my book.

I originally purchased this product based on the price and the higher rated reviews. Sometimes things just don't work out as planned. I received them very quickly, but when I was able to see them up close I immediately regretted my purchase. The materials appear to be of the lowest quality. The headband is uncomfortable after just a few minutes. The ear pads while appearing to be thick and comfortable, are hard and allow the phones to rest directly on the ear. The pads have no cushioning or noise canceling properties at all. The sound is flat. The highs are tinny and the lows have no punch. It's like listening to music underwater. To top everything off, the left channel stopped working shortly after plugging the headphones in. I am attempting to return them but the seller won't accept returns on opened merchandise. Please don't make the same mistake I did.

I own and have owned some great sounding phones(IMHO). (BeyerDynamic DT 880's(current favs), Sennheiser 201's-202's & HD 570's,Sony's(low budget) and some Yamaha's) I was impressed by the Behringers. Crisp and vibrant highs with very decent low end soundstage for open air phones. I broke them in for a day and I was pleased even more. I have red reviews on audiophile forums that won't even smell them and I just can't see it. I mean they are $20! You aren't going to get leather and magnesium frames for that price range..lol Comparatively Sennheiser 201's run at a similar price range and they are excellent for the price. I like the low end on the Behringer's a little more. Behringer doesn't have the history that Sennheiser does but the performance is there. You also get a few extra features like a single side cord, 1/8 inch plug with a 1/4 inch screw on adapter(L shaped plug). TheBehringer's are also a bit more comfortable than the 201's and 202's with DJ functionality and adjustable headband.

A solid buy I think...I also purchased a pair of these for my wife who does music composition and vocal work. She thinks they are great.

Pros: The headphones are a little heavy and big but they look cool enough to be used as a handy ear-muffler during winter since the ear cushions are THICK and beautifully soft and warm. The wiring is thickly padded to protect it from careless drops onto the floor. And the sound acoustics are pretty good.

Cons: The biggest disadvantage of this headphones is that the jack plug moves a lot and tends to disrupt your ipod if you even walk one step. So every few seconds your ipod pauses as the jack plug shifts even a little since the ipod thinks that the headphones got cut off. So, you can't actually use it outside. Another disadvantage is that when you do listen to the music, everyone around you also hears the music you're listening to since the sounds slip through.

All in all, it's not a bad piece of equipment for light use especially since the price is pretty cheap compared to other headphones that skyrocket to thousands of dollars.

I compared the MEE NS63 headphones against my everyday Sennheiser HD-201's I've had for years. With the MEEE's over three times the current price of the HD-201s I hoped the difference in quality would be noticeable. Frankly I was blown away, first by the sheer difference in volume with identical settings on my fairly ordinary AIWA shelf sound system. But the spaciousness, separation, and bass clarity were simply in other league from the Sennheiser's.

I used a range of reference recordings that included large ensembles such as orchestra, chamber groups, and jazz trios, rock bands, to solo instruments like cello, classical and steel string guitars, mandolin, piano and solo violin. They represent a variety of production points of view (i.e. ambient, dry, closed and distant miking acoustic, electric instruments and electronic sound.

The difference across the board was one of richness and presence. I was especially surprised at the bottom end because the MEEE write up indicated the phones were especially designed for balance rather than the bass-heavy specs other consumer brands often go for. There's clearly no shortage of bottom end here.

The NS63 includes a noise suppression function that requires two AAA batteries. You can engage the NS function with or without the audio playing. To be honest it's not a primary use for me but to check it out I took both pairs of phones on a recent trip by commuter train into and out of Grand Central in Manhattan and put them to work against the typical din of cell phones, noisy kids, and the ubiquitous excessively loud conversationalist two rows back.

I have to say the masking effect was not spectacular: I noticed it mostly in the high frequency range and, when compared to wearing the passive HD-201, yes, I could tell the difference but not overwhelmingly so.

Trying later at home upstairs behind a closed door while my wife played an acoustic piano downstairs I confirmed the effect is most noticeable in the higher frequencies. The NS63s are the only noise-cancelling phones I've ever tried; I can't really say how they compare to BOSE or other brands known for NS.

Regarding the mechanics of the phones:

I wish the battery compartment were hinged or otherwise tethered to the phones. It repeatedly slipped out of my hand onto the floor at home while opening it and I can easily imagine it doing the same on a train and bouncing away under a seat or worse. Opening and closing the lid really could be smoother, especially for someone using the NS feature on a regular basis as battery life is rated at 32 hours.

The detachable mini-plug cable is a nice idea, although the supplied cable is only about three feet long compared to at least twice that on the Sennheisers. Another practical feature the NS63 has is a large audio mute button built-into the outer left phone that's very easy to grab and press suddenly very practical.

The ear pads are slightly smaller and rounder on the MEE's than on the HD-201. I have big ears and appreciate the extra size; the MEE's fit my ears more snugly, which perhaps suits the noise suppression function better. However there's no lateral side-to-side play in the MEE phones at all, as there is in the HD-201's, and this makes them slightly less comfortable for longer listening periods.

Speaking of size, there's every bit as much adjustment `pull' in the MEE phones as the HD-201's and my big head had plenty of clearance on top.

The pillbox-style carrying case is a great idea that should fit easily in an average shoulder bag and certainly a suitcase. The MEE's phone cups are hinged and work comfortably regardless of how far they've been pulled out to adjust for head size. The hinges themselves are made from brushed metal with plastic reinforcement. Although they feel fairly solid I'd get in the habit of using two fingers thumb outside, index inside to gently open and close them, especially if you plan to store the phones frequently.

I've used my HD-201s for home recording and always regarded them as a nicely balanced, if not spectacular, pair of phones. Hearing the NS63's reminded me of the sheer joy of listening I had as a kid with my massive `water-filled' KOSS headphones. If you're looking for a similar kind of rush, I'd recommend them.

Since I wear earrings, I like how these headphones fit over your ears and doesn't make it uncomfortable on your ears. I owned another pair of headphones of a different brand which would press on my earrings into my skin behind my ears which made it very uncomfortable. In addition, the MEElectronics headphones have a better value as they also have great sound quality and come with multiple cords and a sturdier carrying case compared to the other brand headphones I used to own. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for high quality headphones without breaking your wallet.

I primarily use my MEElectronics NoiseSHIELD headphones when recording MIDI loops for worship at my church. Deep, rich bass and crisp, accurate highs create an amazing listening experience. The headphone design naturally isolates the listener from most unwanted background noise. When ANC is engaged background noise is attenuated to an even greater degree. Whether I'm working with MIDI software, or listening to music, my MEElectronics NoiseSHIELD headphones do a fantastic job for a fraction of the cost of similar products. With superior comfort, sound quality, and noise-canceling ability, these headphones rock!

I have only owned one other noise canceling headphones (search my reviews) and these headphones by MEElectronics are by far superior. The sound quality was on par with a $600 pair of headphones I own and use for recording voice overs. I love the sleek, fold-able design and compact carrying case. I just toss these in my Coach tote bag and am good to go. I used these on my NYC subway commute and was more than pleased with the performance over the louder than life subway and occasional subway-preacher. The only negative comment I have is with regards to the weight. I am user to lighter headphones and these felt a bit heavy on my head after a few hours of wear.

I got the Mackie 402-VLZ3 to replace an Alexis multimix, and the difference is stunning. There's almost no noise or hiss when recording with the Mackie. For $99, this level of quality was a nice surprise to me. Highly recommended. You can turn it up quite a bit before noticing any hiss.

This is not USB or firewire, so you will need a stereo RCA to mini (1/8) cable to connect to your PC line-in. It doesn't come with any cables. It does include a downloadable license for Tracktion 3 software.

I bought this so I could connect both my guitar and mic to a Roland SonicCell and record audio using Logic on my mac. The pre-amp is great; better than expected. I reduced both hiss and hum in my audio tracks.

The only minor complaint is that channel 3&4 do not have separate level controls (treats as stereo); I don't need the extra channel at the moment, but it would have been nice to have as a spare channel (since it is advertised as a 4-channel mixer, which is true, but...)

My guess is that anybody reading a review on the Mackie 402-VLZ3 is trying to decide whether to buy Mackie or Behringer.

It is true you can get what appears to be a lot more mixer from Behringer for significantly less money than the 402 VLZ3.

So it makes perfect sense to buy Behringer until you learn your lesson -"Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me."

OK, I've been a fool at least a half dozen times, and I am now an officially recovering Behringer addict.

I've also got Behringer's largest mixer, the Eurodesk MX9000, taking up space in my office. It will take 2 men to haul outside and heave into the dumpster.

I never, ever abuse equipment, but I am struck by the failure rate of Behringer gear. And also, I've tried to get things fixed. Forget about it!

Hate to review Mackie by talking about Behringer, but the bottom line is this: Mackie gear is utterly reliable. It has never let me down. And it is not expense. The only problem is confusion when Mackie is compared to other products which are really not in the same class.

Want Mackie 402-VLZ3 Premium 4-Channel Ultra-Compact Mixer Discount?

I use this for sporting event presentation. Music is played via Ipod to mini plug to RCA tape input. A Shure SM58S is used via XLR cable as the main microphone and a Line 6 XDR955 wireless microphone is used for frequency worry free reliability. One input remain open for adding a second ipod for the national anthem, for another performers music input device or for a back up mic. The output is via two Harbinger APS12 powered speakers that cover a space that is over 400' feet wide. We place the speaker side by side so that we on have to run one extension cord and there is no annoying echo like delay that can make hearing difficult. XLR to ¼" adapters are needed to connect the ¼" mixer output to the XLR cables. You can't have too many XLR cables with quality connectors.

I love how such a quality mixer unit comes in such a small package. The mute button is an essential function. I am interested in the Mackie PROFX8 8-Channel Compact Effects Mixer with USB for the slide volume controls, but I am glad for the small size of the Mackie 402-VLZ3 Premium 4-Channel Ultra-Compact Mixer which make transport, set up and take down easy.

I purchased this to replace my Behringer Xenyx 502 mixer which was starting to have some scratch on the primary mix volume control. The Behringer unit sounded completely fine to me for the time I owned it, but I was blown away when I hooked the Mackie up in its place. The sound is noticeably more clear. The Mackie also feels much more solid in the controls and I like the layout and design more on the Mackie. With the Behringer, the headphone volume is affected by the main mix volume control (except for the tape-inputs). On the Mackie, the headphone volume control is 100% independent from the main mix volume control, which I think is the way it should be.

As a headphone amp, the Mackie is superb. I'm running Sennheiser HD598's and they sound absolutely beautiful, crystal clear on this Mackie mixer. I can say the same for my Dynaudio BM5A studio monitors as well. If you're debating between a Behringer mixer or a Mackie, I'd say definitely go with the Mackie. It's well-worth the extra $.

I recently accidentally (which is actually French for "moronically") wrecked a +10-year-old pair of Sony -V900's. I always liked the -V900's sound, but I was never happy with their external sound isolation, and was annoyed by the constant replacing of the ever-deteriorating ear pieces. So, since I was faced with replacing them, after some research, I went with the DT770M's.

The isolation is indeed fabulous. I can hear virtually nothing of the external world. Audio-wise, however, I don't like these as much as the Sony's. The -V900's just had a more rich tone, where the -770's just sound flat to me.

The Sony's were also more comfortable, but that is probably a compromise for the -770's superior isolation.

I also own a pair of Sennheiser HD590's, but those can only be used in an environment where there is absolutely no external sound. They are great-sounding, though, as good or better than the Sony's.

There are times when I need the absolute isolation, so the -770's are perfect for that. But, I would never recommend them for critical listening enjoyment.

Hello Amazon!

I have had the Beyerdynamic DT 770 M headphones for about 3 months now, and I have had a chance to use them while both drumming and listening to music from my iPod.

Starting off with Build Quality:

The headband is all metal wrapped by black pleather. Cushioning is soft and comfortable, however the material is somewhat thin. Fortunately the pleather wrapping is removable and can be easily replaced. Headphone size is easily adjustable and can fit any size head. Clamping pressure is strong but necessary for isolating noise. One note on size; these headphones are not collapsable, however they fit well in the included zippered carrying case. The cones are attached by strong metal forks extending from the headband and the cones are made of hard plastic. The DT 770 M's are built to last. The cord has ample length and can fit a screwable sound board adapter. An inline volume slider on the cord is a nice touch to allow on-the-fly volume adjustment.

Sound Quality:

This is really the only aspect of the DT 770 M's that I was disappointed about. The mids and treble are there, but the bass is almost non-existant. It is easily understandable why this would be, since there is no cone ventilation to allow the drivers to move. This is not a big issue though, since as a drummer, all you really need to hear is the accompanying band. Too much bass in these headphones would make it difficult to discern what you are playing on the drumset, and what the band is playing. In all reality, I love these headphones for their isolation, not their sound quality.

Isolation:

The real purpose behind Beyerdynamic producing these headphones. Beyerdynamic has done a masterful job in striking a balance in noise isolation that is perfect for a drummer. When drumming, I can easily hear what I am playing, without having to turn up the volume of the surrounding band. It is as if you are wearing the best ear muffs available, and having audio drivers placed in the cones. Perfect for drummers. One note on the ear pads: the pleather gets sweaty very quickly. This is not so bad however, since the sweat actually makes the pads seal to your head, providing even more isolation. It sounds gross, but it actually works.

Verdict:

These headphones are meant for drummers, not for daily music entertainment. You would be horribly dissatisfied listening to these through an iPod for casual listening. Think of the sound through this example: Mids and treble to be like the Audio Technica ATH-M50's, with little bass. If you are a drummer, you should not waste your money on any other headphone. These will make you happy for what they were designed to do; isolate sound and provide additional band audio. They are worth the $200.

Summary: Beyerdynamic DT 770 M Headphones

Pros:

Isolation is Just Right for Drummers

Tank Build Quality

Handy In-line Volume Slider

Comfort

Cord Length (long)

Mids and Treble

Carrying Case

Cons:

Overall Sound Quality

Bass

Recommendation: For Drummers only. Not for daily music listening.

Thanks for reading my review!

I have these and the standard DT-770 headphones. I wanted the M because they offer more isolation from the house sound when DJing. I wish they isolated even a little more. They also have some nasty resonance frequencies...probably because they are so symmetrical. The volume adjustment is nice.

Buy Fom Amazon Now

These headphones are great. They have very sturdy design, which makes you think they will last as long as a $200+ pair of headphones should. They are a bit tight, so it takes a while to get used to them, but once you get them on and cut out the outside noise you stop caring. I brought these on a long trip for the plane and they worked great in severely reducing ambient "plane noise." The sound quality is pretty good, I have a pair of open back Sennheisers that blow these out of the water, but everything but the LOWS sound great. The low lows are not particularly clear and there isn't a substantial amount of bass in general, which you would expect from closed back sealed headphones. This is sort of a relief though, many new headphones are focusing on getting you as much bass as possible, these seem to be a bit more balanced and less focused on BASS.

I thought the volume slider was useless when I bought them, but I have found myself using it more and more in sessions, so it is a great addition. The cord is very long so its a bit unruly for general use, but for tracking it is great. The case is awesome, though it doesn't have a space for the adaptor, I just made a slit in the foam and shove it in there now for safe keeping.

I am delighted to report that these headphones will please your noggin in many ways.

For the price of these headphones, you will be getting more than your money's worth. While these are not audiophile or professional quality headphones, the sound quality is still -verygood. I was surprised to get such clear, deep tones out of headphones that cost so little...drum & bass sounds very nice. Its bass limit is not as volumous as a professional piece of equipment, but it does seem to have an output limiter that will stop the headphones from maxing out and making that fuzzy static sound, eventually resulting in permanent speaker damage. Sibilance is a frequent problem with many headphone products, but not these... not in the least bit. They handle treble and tweets with a great deal of clarity, and vocals sound so very nice. After having used Sony MDR-NC6, Sony MDR-XD100, and Koss R40, this product stands out as #1 in terms of comfort and sound, especially for the price. Get sucked into these headphones and you won't be disappointed. Adjust your equalizer to fit the music you like. Playback will sound just how you want it to.

In addition to great sound, these are comfortable as well. The earphones themselves are made of the standard squishy studio headphone cushioning, though the pads seem to be thicker than usual. The frame doesn't "pinch" your head either. Rather, it hugs. If you've ever used Sony MDR-NC6 before, you'll know what I mean by pinching...a frame so unflexible it presses your ears until they hurt. Not the ATH T22s... they respect your mellon. The phones themselves completely enclose the ear, which results in very little sound leak. The only complaint I have is that the frame arch does not have any padding.

I am very pleased with this purchase, and I hope that you may give these things a try once it is time to pick up a new pair of headphones.

Buy Audio-Technica Dynamic Stereo Headphones Now

I bought these because I was looking for a set of circum aural headphones (big headphones that go around your ear) that were inexpensive and had decent sound quality.

I was looking for a headphone that would have a good frequency response range and a relatively flat response across a majority of its given frequencies (so not a super-bass headphone) because I like to enjoy my music the way it was originally equalized. These headphones do very well on that front, the designers have made no assumptions about boosting bass or anything like that. All of this isn't to say that the headphones don't have good bass, they do, what I'm saying is the sound doesn't tend to be biased towards bass.

The other thing I was looking for was a headphone that would isolate me from my office environment. These headphones make it so I don't hear the environment around me without having to crank my music overly loud.

As far as sound quality:

Good response across a broad range of frequencies. Not megabass boosted, but not weak either.

Very low distortion at both high and low volumes.

Capable of being fairly loud.

UPDATE:

I knocked 2 stars off because the headphones just snapped on me. I'm quite upset that they broke, and this points to brittle plastic. I didn't mishandle them, I've just left them on my desk since I've had them, and put them on every day... My head's not oversized. It's a build quality issue. Let me reiterate though, the sound is great for the price, but they snapped.

Review is for: Audio-Technica Dynamic ATH-M10 Stereo Headphones

OVERVIEW:

-----------

SUPER COMFORTABLE, one of the most comfortable headphones:

Nice padding

Ear pieces swivel up/down and side-to-side

Very light overall

No head squeeze

As comfortable as the X11's though more sound isolation than the X11's

Perhaps slightly more comfortable than the Creative Sound Blaster Arena's which have the same quality padding and up/down side-to-side ear can flexibility. The Arena has more sound insulation if that is important among the comfy headphone options for you.

The ATH-M10 is roughly as comfortable as Bose AE2's which is really saying something.

Generally reviews find its sound surprisingly good for such an inexpensive pair.

I gave it five stars because for its price range it offers excellent value and really stands out for comfort.

CONS:

------

For computer use I wish a version of these headsets came with inline volume control. Especially for putting down headset, the option to put it on mute or turn down volume with a control on the cord would be great.

The Creative SoundBlaster Arena's and X11's are both examples of comfy headphones that have the in-line volume control.

SUMMARY:

----------

Highly recommend if looking primarily for comfort and need only a little sound isolation, and don't need an inline volume control on the cord.

Considering how inexpensive they are, they sound very nice and are surprisingly comfortable. Not the most amazing quality, but that's to be expected for $30. I'd definitely recommend these to someone looking for a decent pair of headphones, without paying a lot.

These do sound great in a quiet area, but I assumed being airtight meant they would also help block the noise of the machine shop where I work. There are slits in the shells, and the shells are hollow, so what do they sound like? Like putting shells over your ears. Seashells. But the shells just snap on, so I snapped them off and stuffed them with foam, and now they do what I hoped they would do in the first place. Meaning I turned a 3-star product into a 5-star product, so I gave it 4 stars. And the foam I recycled from the dumpster at work, so I'm happy.

I have a of hobby collecting headphones, and I've recently began reviewing the ones in my collection. I constructed a simple six-song test and rating system, where a score of 0 2 is abysmal, 2.1 4 is poor, 4.1 6 is mediocre, 6.1 8 is above average, and 8.1 10 is excellent.

I selected songs from a variety of genres. The songs were "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac, "Every Planet We Reach is Dead" by Gorillaz, "Concerto Grosso no. 26 in D Major" by Handel, "I Know You Are, But What Am I?" by Mogwai, "Afro Blue" by Triplexity, and "The Patient" by Tool. All songs were encoded in Ogg Vorbis at 192 kbps or higher, and I listened to them on an iAudio 7 with all sound effects turned off and the equalizer set to flat.

Sound Quality(9.2/10)

The Chain(9/10) bass, mid tones, and treble are all flat and evenly reproduced. The bass is crisp and punchy, but not exaggerated. The sound stage is good, although not incredible. Instrument separation is clear and vivid.

Every Planet(10/10) lows in this song are deep and responsive, but smooth and even at the same time. Mids and highs are also impressively vivid. The sound stage is moderately large, and instrument separation is fantastic.

Concerto(10/10) the sound in this song is very flat and smooth over all frequencies(which I like, especially for classical). Instrument separation is crisp and clear. The sound stage is not huge, but pleasantly broad.

I Know You Are(9/10) lows are nice and deep. Mids are rich and vivid. Highs are crisp and clear. The instrument separation is also very clear. Sound stage is definitely good, but not as amazing as other headphones in this price range.

Afro Blue(9/10) the bass in this song is impressively low and punchy, but again, not exaggerated. Mids and highs are clean and even. Instrument separation is fantastic. The sound stage on this song wasn't as broad as I would like, but not bad.

The Patient(8/10) music was evenly reproduced over all frequencies. Bass and mid tones were vivid, and highs were clean and clear. Instrument separation is also good. The sound stage, as before, is decent but not overly great. While this song sounded very good over the Audio Technicas, it was somewhat lacking in aggressiveness and intensity.

Overall Sound(9.2/10) the Audio Technica ATH-D40fs sounded very smooth and balanced overall with clean, deep bass, vivid mid tones, and clear highs. Instrument separation was fantastic. The only complaint I have regarding sound quality was the sound stage, which was somewhat lackluster at times.

Design(3/10) these headphones were comfortable to wear, if a bit heavy. I could listen to them for hours on end with little fatigue. While not particularly stylish, they exuded a sense a professionalism that is missing in most headphones. I give them such a low rating in design because they broke shortly after I bought them. I take good care of my headphones, but not long after I began listening to them, the left speaker would stop playing music intermittently, which leads me to believe there was a short somewhere in the internal assembly(I never actually found one in the headphone cable).

Noise Isolation(7/10) while not the best noise isolation I've ever experienced from a pair of headphone(that award would go to one of the various IEMs I've listened to), these were quite good. I estimate they blocked around 10 12 DB of ambient noise along the entire range of audible frequencies.

Bottom Line(6/10) I would like to give these headphones an 8 or 9. The sound quality was fantastic for sealed headphones at this price range, and almost everything else about them was good. Sadly, as I previously mentioned, the left speaker began behaving erratically shorty after I purchased them, and they had to be returned.

I've listened on $600 studio reference headphones (in an actual studio) and have a keen appreciation for great quality.

These headphones have been a great joy to use. Their sonic quality is excellent, mid-tones are clear and the high's are articulate. The cups are comfortable and by themselves do a wonderful job of blocking exterior noise. The only thing I can't figure out is their claim that the cord is "field-replacable", but there is no documentation or any indication that this is the case.

Other than that, it's an outstanding pair of comfortable full-cup headphones. Has a really long cord as well, which is much appreciated.

I've been extremely satisfied w/ these headphones comfortable, & sound great. I use them mostly to record w/ GargaeBand & to learn songs on bass, w/ my bass signal & a cd going thru' a mixing board. I've had them for several months now, & they've been durable. A good product; I'd rate them "Semi-Professional Quality".

These are great. I use them everyday at a top recording facility in Bogota, Colombia, where headphones gets lots of abuse, they are good and loud enough for the deafest drummers. Replacemente drivers and earcushions are cheap, and you can get these directly from audio-technica. As long as you dont break the rotating joints, these will last you a very long time.

Looking for something to replace my ipod headphones. I almost got the ath-m40fs, due to the great reviews until someone mentioned that d40fs has enhanced bass so I cancelled my order and got this instead. I was hesitant, because very few reviews were done on this model, but went ahead anyways. If you intend to use this with your portable player, like an ipod, you will need to purchase an adapter to go over the 1/4 plug. What I did was replace the whole cable with an old headset and re-wire. Pretty easy, just remove padding and 4 screws. I got mine for $57 from samedaymusic with free shipping. Don't forget they will price match on their website.

You won't be un-happy when you hear clean/clear not so boomy sound you never heard before.

I didn't hesitate purchasing the Numark Mixtrack. After coming across

the link on accident looking at other DJ products. I went to the Numark

website and read more about this Dj Controller. I then went to Youtube

and watched a couple videos on it. I then came here to Amazon to purchase

it the same day after finding out about it.

I've used a lot of Dj controllers before. At Parties, Clubs, Weddings ect.

I always found the more expensive controllers to have the best features. But

with the Mixtrack....I am proven wrong. This controller ranks up there with the

best in my opinion. When I compare this to great controllers like The VCI-300,

The NS7, The Mixdeck, ect. You with this Dj controller can't go wrong. You're

getting a $150.00 Dj controller with all the features Dj's look for, at an affordable

price! With this you're getting a more real time djing feel. You're getting

nice Dj platters/jogwheels, effects, editing tools and a good program. This is

a perfect tool to have on those days you dj a gig. But don't want to bring your

regular djing equipment. Also if your a beginner looking to learn the art of

being a Disk Jockey. This is the right product to learn on.

With this controller, you would need to get an audio sound card. To be able to

hear what your doing with headphones. Native Instruments the same company that

makes the included Traktor program. Has a sound card called the Audio2Dj and Numark has the DjIo Sound card. There are other sound cards available also. The Mixtrack is premapped for use with all Traktor djing programs (Traktor Cue and Traktor Pro) and other approved djing software and hardware. Bottomline is this thing is made to perform and can hold it's own with the big boys. Numark has really outdone themselves with the Mixtrack, and with the success of the NS7, V7, and Mixdeck. Numark can go ahead and add this to the list of accomplishments.

Intermediate and Advanced Dj's can get enjoyment out of this product. Speaking as a Dj myself, using this has not made me miss hot days in the garage mixing it up on my acoustic djing equipment. Now I got something I can use and take with me on the go and use anytime. Not to say this is going to make me stop using my SL1200's and DJM 600. But now I got another option till I get my Numark Mixdeck. Numark has also came out with the IDJ3 which is a similar controller. But it has an Ipod

dock, and has a built in headphone jack and mic output. The IDJ3 cost $300 but has all of the same great features as the Mixtrack. So to end this, I recommend the Numark Mixtrack to everyone that wants to either learn, entertain ect. A very great Dj Midi Controller for an even more amazing price!

Buy Numark Mixtrack USB DJ Controller for Mac and PC Now

The Numark Mixtrack is definently what it says it is. It's a responsive, light, compact controller with some pretty amazing effects. I bought this to be able to DJ shows without having to carry 3 crates of records and turntables with me. While the two decks do act as turntables, the scratch sounds very computerized and the response is off. You have to watch your PC screen to keep track of where you're at in the cut. It is very light, very portable, and pretty responsive. It is plastic, so if you want the professional feel, you won't get it. If you want portable, this is for you. A couple of issues... You'll need a separate soundcard to be able to monitor your cue. This is in the price range of about $90+. And the version of Traktor that comes with it is the light edition which is very basic. The pitch is only +/-8%. I was hoping to be able to make that much more but in the light edition of Traktor that's all thats available. You'll have to upgrade to pro. All in all, this is most definitly worth $150. Just don't expect for it to change your DJ game. If you're looking into getting into DJing, I would suggest just getting PCDJ or another program that you can use a keyboard as the controller. Its easier to control at first and you'll see if you have the ear to mix. If you're looking to go portable, match this with a external soundcard and you, sir, are set.

I bought this for practicing my sets in my room, or where ever I can. That, and I wanted to venture into Native Instruments territory (I use Serato).

Build Quality I wish there was more metal parts (like a heavy mtal plate for the bottom), but it doesn't matter becasue it is light weight, and I can retrofit (hack) a metal plate of my choosing. . .but that'll be later. The buttons are responsive. With Traktor LE, it works flawlessly (packaged with it). I've had no issues with it, and I was fairly impressed with the build quality (being that it's ALL plastic).

My only concerns are pretty small:

1) The Faders.

Over time, thy may get too wobbly, but I'm pretty sure there will be some after market parts (Innofader?) to replace these. Or I may just replace them (line faders) myself with smoother ones.

2) Conencted USB.

This is the part where I don't agree with it. I hack a replacement so I can simply remove the USB cord. But really, it's not a deal breaker.

Price How can you say no? $150 (no sound card). Rumors show that Numark and Native Instruments may put together a package with a sound card. If you don't want to wait (like I did), you may want to pick up either a Numark StereoIO (roughly $35-$40 ), or spend the good quality on a Native Instruments Audio 2 DJ ($100). I got the latter and the output is great. And with Traktor LE being from NI, Set-up is a FRIGGIN breeze.

If you looking to get started, or want something to just mess around with, don't even hesitate on this!

***UPDATE on OCt 4, 2010***

Numark has just announced a MixTrack Pro for $250. . .This time it includes a soundcard built in, and has a detachable USB cord. . . .At least Numark is now listening!

Hi there,

I'm an amateur producer of house music (mainly)(home producing, nothing fancy) and I've been thinking recently of getting into DJing(I have no experience in DJing). Unfortunately the gear in my country is rather expensive (I live in Romania) but luckily a family friend went on a trip to the U.S. and asked me if I wanted anything. I started looking for gear online and I was very surprised and pleased to see things are way cheaper in the U.S., especially online. I came across the Numark Mixtrack during my frantic midnight searches and wouldn't you believe it, only 119$! In Romania, the cheaper ones go for 240 something dollars! Keep in mind this is a digital DJ controller and acts like 2 turntables and a mixer. My opinion is digital DJing is the future (at least for me), seeing it's so accessible and productive.

I've just received mine and it is awesome! The Mixtrack is lightweight, small and obviously very portable. It's made of plastic, otherwise it would've been heavier, but don't let that discourage you. I installed Virtual DJ, plugged the Mixtrack in and that was it! It works with other DJ software, like Traktor, but I haven't gotten around to trying them. If you're a complete beginner, the learning curve is about an hour, maybe less, it's extremely intuitive and the manual is all you need to understand the basics. The platters are well built, although maybe not as responsive as vinyl turntables, you'd have to mess with the setting a bit to achieve desired results. The faders offer resistance and the crossfader is loose, both just the right amount. The big file-finding knob in the middle is perfect for dark clubs and such where trying to find a track with your mouse/touch-pad would be annoying.

You will need an audio interface to be able to cue your songs, monitor with headphones etc. I'd recommend what I will be receiving shortly (I hope), the Behringer UCA202. It's the cheapest I could find, from a serious brand.

What's the difference between this and the Mixtrack Pro? The Pro has a built-in audio interface and a detachable cable, and more software included. I recommend you buy this and an audio interface, instead of the Mixtrack Pro, if you have other uses for the audio interface.

The downsides are: the EQ knobs have a little problem. For example, if you turn the treble knob all the way down and then turn it up slowly, there will be a very short range of motion where nothing happens and then you suddenly hear the treble, instead of a smooth transition. Also, during play the sync buttons insists that you synchronize beats! And before or after playing a song, the cue and play/pause buttons put on quite the light show trying to alert you to cue your song! A bit annoying if you ask me, but I will get used to it or look into some settings to see if I can modify that.

That's all from me for now, ask if you have any questions.

I was an old school Hip Hop DJ in a past life and then I got into IT as a career. I do the occasional high school dance or mixtape and I wanted something to interface with my PC to allow for some creative flows when the urge hits me. I have worked with audio production and I have a working timecode vinyl setup, but I still had to go back and forth between the turntables and the mouse/keyboard when mixing live. I finally gave in and bought the Mixtrack because the wheels seemed large enough and the price was low enough. Yes you need a soundcard but I have tons of good ones. Here's a tip, if you can find one look for the M-Audio Revolution 5.1. I have that and a Delta-44 in the same box. With either of these cards I can run 1ms latency in Traktor Pro and record while I mix with no problems whatsoever. I master out to the fronts in stereo and monitor to the rears. I think Traktor Pro is better suited to the Mixtrack for simply mixing and monitoring songs. I don't mess around with the filters and the EQ knobs too much. The reason why I decided to write this review is this scratching IS possible on this unit! Mind you it isn't going to allow you to cut and scratch like Q-Bert but in regards to beat juggling and scratching before you drop the next track in it is great. With a little practice you can sound like a real DJ, well, a real DJ from back in the day like me lol. The first time I sat down with it I recorded a little hour long freestyle and playing it back I heard some nice cuts in there. All of the reviews I saw on Youtube looked mostly wack and didn't represent this device fully. In the end I will probably just use my turntables and a smaller software controller in place of a hardware mixer. The Numark Mixtrack is worth every penny if you want a decent device you can control your DJ software with. Friday nights hanging out in the bedroom with some beers or a backyard BBQ this item will be right at home. There is a learning curve and you have to be "gentle" with it but the touch-sensitive wheels have only a minimal bit of delay unlike some of the jog wheels I have tested. When you touch the platter it stops, when you let go of the platter it plays. Not like a half a second later but when you let go.

Another tip, if you are wanting to scratch make sure you set the fader to "sharp" in Traktor or "Scratch" in Virtual DJ. If you remember Howie Tee or Mixmaster Ice? This unit can pull it off digitally.

I bought this adapter so my children could both plug their headphones into a single music player and listen to their music during trips, (it's one way to keep their singing in unison with each other.) Unfortunately this splitter didn't work properly. When one or both headphones are plugged in, only certain frequencies of the music are audible in fact on one song it sounds like a somewhat muffled instrumental the vocal track is all but silent whereas the instruments are almost normal. Very weird. Of course, I did check all the connections, try different headphones, and even plug the device into another unit, but I couldn't get the thing to work. Without the adapter, the same tracks played fine.

Of course, I may have received a one in a thousand dud. I will not be returning it due to prohibitive costs of returning costing more than buying another. When I do buy another splitter adapter soon though, I'll try my luck with a different brand.

First, this is not your typical cello. It's a 300 electric cello. Please keep this in mind.

It works, it sounds alright, and it's definitely great for practice. Style 5 is quite nice looking. But the style doesn't actually affect the sounds, so choose whichever you like.

To get this playing, you plug in a headphone into one jack. There's another for aux output, great for tuning if you have an electric tuner with an input.

There's two control knobs, one for volume and one for tone/timbre. They function and the tone is a nice add to get the sound you like.

Here's a few details to keep in mind:

1) It is not silent. It just doesn't project. My boyfriend says that he can hardly hear in the next room over with the door closed; but it is definitely not silent (i.e., you can actually practice without the headphones)

2) The stuff that comes with: bow, rosin, headphone... wish they would they would just keep them and knock of another $10...that's pretty much what they are worth. The bow was not useable since it came warped. The headphone was not comfortable (I just use a earphone set), and the rosin was not useful. The only thing I kept was padded bag. Not going to spend another $200 for a hard case.

3) The strings, tailpiece, fine tuners, fitting, everything, are pretty cheap, as expected. It's really up to you whether you want the spend some money to upgrade these. but if you want something decent, keep those cost in mind.

Summary: A great base product that does what it should. If you want something decent, you might need to add some cost to get a bow, rosin, a nice headphone set, some new strings (at a minimum), and maybe some other fitting/accessories.

I play the guitar.

That being said, I've always loved bowed strings, and really wanted to try it.

Well, this was my chance.

Do I regret it? Not yet.

Honestly, I am able to get some very decent sounds out of this instrument, especially running it through my PC recording software to tweak the sound.

The A string snapped on the second tune up. So that's pretty sweet. I guess people aren't kidding when they say you'll need new string for this at least. You will, because these cheap steel ones will break. These strings feel like something off a construction site when I compare them to playing my guitar strings. But maybe that's how cello strings are? I guess I'll find out after I plunk down $100 for a set of strings! That would make any guitarists stomach turn.

Anyways, you get what you pay for. I'm glad they're making this product available because it has allowed me to try something I never would have otherwise. Hopefully I'm able to get it setup well enough that I actually enjoy making music with it and can add it to my musical recording arsenal.

Great for beginners. Is not totally silent when played without an amp but is not loud enough to annoy the entire house. I recommend getting a new set of strings after becoming familiar with the instrument, the A string has a poor tonal quality. A tip for other beginners: Use small pieces of tape along the side of the neck to mark off notes with the help of a tuner. Also dont give up, its not an easy instrument to play but don't get frustrated and give up. Like any instrument, patience and practice are key. Beautiful and well worth the money.

Want Cecilio 4/4 CECO-5NA Solid Wood Yellow Maple Electric Cello with Ebony Fittings in Style 5 (Full Si Discount?

Perhaps this review will score a bit higher due to the fact that when I bought this Cello I saw it as a base to build upon (new pick ups, gear tuners, etc.) This Cello is great as a starter and when the installations I make on it are done I'll have an instrument as good as a Yamaha for much, much less.

However. As it stands this instrument is a far cry from the Yamahas.

Pros: The pick up that comes on it is located directly under the bridge of the instrument which makes sense since the bridge transmits most of the sound to the body. It's a decent pick up (in regards to sound, but I cant speak for it's durability) It will connect to most guitar amps and sounds rather well.

The wood body catches vibration from the string very well (very important in regards to additional pickups) and provides very good sustain for plucking on low to medium pitch notes. The sound the instrument emits is a bit metallic but it warmed up when I changed the strings to nylon. It's also very light weight, I can lift it easily with one arm.

Cons: The only things that are bad are the things that it comes with. The strings are cheap, and they are cheaply made. The actual steel core on them is thin and they just thickened it by winding copper around it before the plating. All four can snap with ease. The bow is slightly warped but is playable, I'm switching to a carbon fiber one regardless. The rosin is not very good. The headphones are just headphones and the uncomfortable kind (I didn't buy it for the headphones) The bag is actually useful.

If you are the only one using this mixer, it's excellent. It has the most input options with the most amount of faders I've been able to find for it's size (and i maintain sound systems at several venues and have bought a half dozen of the C3s, C3USBs, etc) to accommodate many many inputs (2 cds, 2 turntables, 2 Serato channels, 2 guest inputs, 2 ipod inputs, 2 mics... it's all there, at the same time.

and it all works. Sonically it's fine. It's not a big deal as most DJs play MP3-quality audio anyway (pffft!).

The problem is when it gets over-used or abused by multiple DJs (or one abusive DJ). it wears down very easily, hence the Numark name and the price.

the crossfader stops working, the headphone jack, cue slider, in/out jacks, volume pots, faders, etc, all wear out easily, get dirty easily, or just plain stop working.

Replacement plans are great for it if you can go a month without needing your mixer or if you have a spare to use as a backup. But if you need to have it working all the time, buy 2.

Buy Numark C3 Five-Channel Rack Mixer with Three Mic Inputs Now

I've been using this every day as part of a fixed installation for a few years now. I have brought it out to gigs a few times as well. The EQ is quite musical in nature and the various features like mono/stereo mode are useful for my application. Its headphone output provides a lot of power so you should be able to drive higher-impedance headphones with ease.

Be aware that the "three mic inputs" are not all XLR, just the first one, which is one of those combo XLR+1/4" jacks. So if you have more than one XLR input device you'll need adapters. This unit does not provide phantom power so if you're using a condenser on that one XLR input you'll need a separate device called a phantom power supply.

All in all, a great unit for CD DJs and house CD systems.
