I have used different cables for my Triple Fi 10. The default cable, of course, is a piece of garbage. I also used the braided ES8 cable from Jaben. The braiding on that cable developed a bad habit of unraveling, and the hooks around the ears eventually developed a green color. The Jaben cable just wasn't doing the job anymore, so I knew I needed something else. I saw this cable and eventually decided to buy one. When I used it for the first time, I noticed what a major improvement it was over my previous cables. I'm so glad I bought it. I may be using my TF10 more often because of this cable.
Great build quality on this Fiio cable. The braiding on this cable is tight and looks like it won't unravel. The metallic plug on the cable also looks well-built. It's a straight plug, but I prefer an L-shaped plug. Not a big deal, and I won't deduct points since I knew about it before buying. I like the ear hooks since they maintain their form without being stiff. The ear hooks are just a thin layer of flexible plastic; no memory wire to constantly adjust. The memory wire on other cables would sometimes lose its shape which got annoying. This is something I no longer have to worry about. There is no metal in the ear hook, so I'm guessing that there shouldn't be any discoloration. I'll have to see what happens after some heavy use.
As for the sound, the bass seems tighter and vocals seem smoother with this cable. There is definitely an improvement in sound quality. I'm not good at describing sound, so that's pretty much all I can say about that.
The Fiio RC-UE2 cable is well worth the purchase. A great replacement that doesn't cost much. It can be found cheaper if you look around. I got mine for $28 somewhere else, so there are cheaper options out there.

Update:
This cable can pick up rubbing noises at times. It easily picks up noise when the two wires past the Y-split rub against each other. Sliding up the cable cinch so the cables don't rub against each other seems to solve this problem. I use my earphones at home while sitting down, so I haven't noticed any other rubbing noises yet.

Update 2:
I'm really starting to notice how microphonic this cable is. It easily picks up noise when any part of the cable rubs against something. Sliding the cable cinch real high or using the shirt clip seems to help. A rather annoying problem though.
Also, the material of the cable feels kind of stiff and plastic-like. I wish it were made of a softer material. The cable also coils up on itself. The problem may disappear if I store my earphones without wrapping them. That's how I store them though, so I really notice the problem every time I use my earphones.
I changed my rating from 5 stars to 4 stars. I still think that it's a great cable, but it does have some issues that stood out to me.

My UE's were accidentally shut in a car door so that was the end to the factory cable. I purchased these as a replacement and found them a pleasant upgrade.Bass is a little punchier and they feel a little more airy. As a heavier than stock gauge it does not suffer as much at higher volumes.
The biggest upgrade is the feel. The factory cable was very stiff especially when cold and uncomfortable. This one is limp as a braided rope and comfortable. It comes with a shirt clip and also adjusts up and down at the split point just like the factory cord. It is rope like and pearl like in appearance.
My only complaint is while the connector is extremely heavy duty the lack of a right angle connector is not as nice for me. Normally I use these when I work out and wrap excess cord around my mp3 connector. I do not think a sharp U bend at the connector will fare well for these over time. This is my usage however and not a fault of the product so I would not drop a star.

I was always skeptical about improvements in a particular set of ear pieces's performance, just by upgrading the cables. The UE Triple-fi 10 IEMs are particularly known by the poor quality factory cables. The original cable lasted nearly two years, a replacement factory cable was over in one year, after less than 50 hours of use. Instead of wasting money on another pair of factory cable, I looked for third party options, and I was fortunate to come across the RC-UE2 by FiiO. The difference in sound is hard to describe, you have to hear it to believe it. The bass is a lot more powerful, clear and punchy, the sound stage is wider, an the overall details are increased significantly. This cable may be the best upgrade anyone can get for these IEMs, at lest for the price anyway.Read Best Reviews of FiiO RC-UE2 Replacement Cable for Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 PRO Here
This review will be concise and to the point. I's not really an avid reviewer, however, in some instances I feel obligated. Also, no one has reviewed this item yet so I'll put in my experience and perhaps might persuade some potential buyers...As far as sound quality I didn't do a wire comparison...but I didnt buy them for that reason. Maybe someone else could comment on that. This cable is exactly what Ive been waiting for. I have had my ultimate ears triple fi 10's for a couple years now. They are amazing IEM's but man is it a frustrating set..due to comfort/fit issues. I initially assumed the problem to be associated with ear tips. I have tried all kinds... the included pairs, all 3 types comply has to offer, and also a sony set. With the slightest wiggle these buds would always slip out of my ear no matter what tip I used. So I decided to try my luck with an upgrade cable. The OEM cable is just a strange material. It fails to be loose enough to be comfortable and not flexible in way that is beneficial. It just kind of takes its own shape and you try and deal with it. I had trouble with the memory wire around my ears and was constantly adjusting it to no avail. When FiiO introduced their first version of the replacement cable to the triple fi's (RC-UE1) I was excited for it and bought it straight away. It took on a more traditional material that just hangs loosely. It was good cable but the wire was very dense, thick, and therefore heavy. Also, the jack on them was quite large, but that wasnt a huge concern. The wire was just so heavy that it would pull the buds from my ears, however, i liked the way the non-memory wire fit around my ears...it was close to being what i needed...but anyways...on to the good.
This 2nd attempt at a UE replacement cable is awesome. The new braided design is super lightweight. I jam the buds in my canals and then the wire just kind of fits around my ear more naturally. I never feel the wire antagonizing my attempt to keep the IEMS secure. I actually mowed my whole lawn (about 2 hours) without them falling out or even needing adjusted. FiiO has also improved the 2.5mm jack, it is much smaller and more appropriately sized than their 1st cable. Also, they come with a wire clip to hook the wire to your clothes to avoid any tugging on the wire...
In conclusion, I love this wire and it has increased my listening time for my UE's 10 fold. Combined with the comply "comfort" foam tips i have finally found a set-up that is comfortable and stays put for hours at a time. I can finally enjoy these IEM's instead of just keeping them holstered due to all the hassle that would ultimately ensue everytime I got them out. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up!!

This cable is not bad as a replacement consider its price range, didnt expect much to being with. The only thing that I don't like is the fitment of the "ear hook". Its a bit too big for my ears, they pretty much wrapped the cable with a clear plastic tub thing. I tried to wear this when I go to the gym, and thats kinda annoying, so if you are looking to hit the gym with these cable I'll look for something else.
