I play a full regular kit and just got this addition. Check it outit's got so many fun sounds to play with so, looking to move and expand in different musical directions, this allows plenty of room for that. You can check out how to get it set it up and hear what it sounds like. Give it a watchCheers!

I had to give up my acoustic drum set when I moved to a new apartment because the neighbors never would have stood for the noise. This electric drum kit has been a life saver though. I'm really happy with all of the features it has and now I get to stay on top of my drumming practice without worrying about bothering anyone with noise. The pads are all really responsive too. Very happy with this overall.

First of all I have to start with the price. I paid $202 on cyber monday with free shipping. i have been shopping for electronic drums for a year and a half. i was looking for a price point between $400-$500. from what my research showed i should not expect much for that cost. when i saw this pop up i jumped on it because it had all three toms, two cymbals, a high hat with foot control, snare and kick pedal. most set in this range are not that complete.

when the set arrived at my door it was one large box but was another box in a box. it took 2 1/2 hour to assemble. the instruction were good but putting this thing together was torture.

the first thing i noticed was the really good sample on some of the kits. the first fault i have is there is no customization to set your own kit up. there are only 11 kits available but i have yet to not be able to play any song i choose. you can play your mp3 thru this and jam along. i have play bob marley, led zepplin, guns and rose, van halen, hall and oats, jimmy eat world and my chemical romance with no problem. it has a recorder on it but the playback sucks and staggers the looping. it maxes out with a 2 gig card. i have never used the metronome. the cymbals have dual control so as to be touch sensitive for subtle add ins or loud crashes. you can even do the grab muting. the big complaint in these reviews is the kick will double strike but i have found it is all in the foot placement. it has midi in and out but i currently do not use it. one complaint was wires all over the place but mine came with 2 velcro straps. another complaint was no rim shot, which is only semi true. one kit has a rim shot but you can not get it on demand. another knock on these is the high hat is either opened or closed, NOT TRUE. i can get that cool strike mute jazz sound. the instruction are pathetic and show you almost nothing about the operation of the unit. i got a better set online at pyle but they were only marginally better. the sound module has the ability to micro tune but i couldn't begin to tell you how from the directions. you can unplug the high hat and plug it into the second kick slot on the module. the high hat pedal still give you the muting sounds while you play a double kick. that is something i have never read in these reviews.

as for being a cheap set that you will beat up in a couple of months i have been playing mine two hour a day since dec/12 and it only shows light nylon stick marks on the dark black heads. i have actually been trying to be rough on it but it stands up well, so far. it has no external speakers so you need headphones. it is also not a silent kit as you can hear the rubber and plastic when struck but not with the headphones on. so guys, don't set this up in the bedroom. the people downstairs can not hear it so its all good for me.

the first set amazon sent would cut out while i was playing. i contacted amazon and they had a replacement at my door in two days. they sent UPS to my door to pick the old set up two days after that. i replaced the module, pads, cymbals, pedals and wires in about 30 minutes. i did notice i replaced a set made in china with one made in taiwan. the pads and cymbals felt heavier and more durable on the replacement. i haven't had any trouble since.

i do not work for pyle nor do i have any vested interest in whether you buy this set or not. i have played both the roland and yamaha set in the $400-$500 range and i personally think this far out performs them, especially in sound samples. i would recommend this set for anyone who want a decent jam set. i would not be afraid to use this in a small venue like a bar or school auditorium either, if you have a good amp. good shopping folks!!!!

My son who is a twelve year old beginner at the drums wanted a set for his birthday. The electronic set, I thought would be a good start, so i could try to control his volume. happy i went this route. He is able to practice without bothering the rest of the family, and the ability to pack the kit away easily when needed is fantastic. Cost much less than a traditional set of drums, and a nice way to see if he is going to stick to it. He's had alot of fun with it, and is improving. I'm sure he will continue to enjoy this kit. Thanks Pyle!

The word "Pro" in the description of this drum set is a real stretch. It is just above a toy in quality. I know it didn't cost much @ $280.00 on Amazon.com but with all 5 star reviews I was hoping for much more. Once again I fell for the highly rated reviews. All pads are identical. Hi-hat is the same pad as toms and snare. You can count on miss and double hits on the base and hi-hat pedals. Hi-hat is either opened or closed. Cymbals function erratically. Wires are all over the place so I gathered and taped to the frame. I did have a problem with box contents(not all there)and Amazon immediately credited me for the discrepancy. It took a good couple of hours to assemble. Instructions were woefully inadequate. I would have returned it but would have been virtually impossible to repackage without at least another 2 or 3 hour effort. Unless you are buying a kids first drum set ... pass on these drums. I will look much closer before I ever purchase another Pyle product.
