The DeckSaver line is described as "a polycarbonate dust cover". I should have known better and not blind ordered the item based on hype.

1. "polycarbonate" means, Rubbermaid container lid. The material is soft and flexible, not hard like a traditional turntable cover. It's a thin plastic too.

2. The plastic isn't in perfect condition with light scratch streaks right out of the shipping bag. It looked like someone wiped this down with a paper towel before sending.

3. The product was shipped in a plastic bag with a "DeckSaver" branded cardboard badge stapled to the open end of the bag. For $80, I'd expect the product to come better protected than this.

4. In the images, the DeckSaver wrapped around the edges of the Pioneer DDJ-T1. On the DDJ-S1 (verified compatible by the official DeckSaver website), it won't drop all the way down. The edges of the DeckSaver sit on the curved ends of the USB controller

This product is ... well ... what it is. A thin, plastic, not so well fitting, dust cover. I'm more upset in myself for buying it. There's no way that this product can justify an $80 price tag.

If you live in an extremely organized, well kept, showroom of a house ... the DeckSaver is pretty. It looks nice. Otherwise, a nice piece of cloth from the fabric store will do the same thing for $5.

This is a great investment for someone that likes to care for their equipment. The cover fits perfect, protecting the DDJ from dust. Highly recommended!

When I first purchased this product I was ready to open it up and start playing, however, it doesn't come with an AC Adapter(it takes a 9 volt ac adapter) and it doesn't include batteries (as with most electronics nowadays). Although I fortunately had an adapter that fit the keyboard I didn't realise that until after I had already gone out and bought the required six AA batteries required to power the keyboard.

Apart from my power-supply fiasco, once I did get the product working I was surprised at how unrealistic the piano and a lot of the other sounds .. sounded. Another draw back about this keyboard is that it doesn't include the midi in/out cables used to connect to a computer or another midi device, however if you're just wanting to play and don't have any interest in using the keyboard in conjunction with a computer, then this product is great.

Pros:

affordable price

61 full sized keys

long battery life

lots of built in songs to learn

comes with a music stand and ~100 songs to play

Cons:

doesn't come with midi in/out cables

doesn't come with power adapter

certain tones sound horribly unlike the instrument stated (~30 in all of 100 total)

So if you're looking for something affordable, lightweight and easy to use, this is the perfect keyboard for you.

Buy Casio CTK-496 Electronic Keyboard with 61 Full-Size Keys and Singalong Capability Now

I wouldn't recommend this keyboard for anyone, not even the novice. A keyboard with 61 keys is too small for someone who already plays the piano. This keyboard has a "tinny", cheap sound, as do the accompanying musical tones. The banjo doesn't sound like a banjo; the accordion doesn't sound like an accordion, etc. The rhythm selections all sound the same. The upper keys play at a lower volume than the lower keys.

A sustain pedal is as important as the keys, yet this product did not come with one. It also didn't come with an adapter, which is equally important unless you have an unlimited supply of free batteries. I had to order the sustain pedal over the Internet, plus pay for the shipping. Nobody within 50 miles of me carried one. I also had to pay extra for an adapter and a set of headphones.

If your looking for a decent keyboard, please consider buying the best and the largest you can afford. This one will leave you feeling cheated and disgusted, while it collects dust in the closet.

At its price point, this is an amazing little keyboard. Keeping in mind an 88 key digital piano with weighted keys and basically no additional sounds costs around $500, its important to consider what you should expect for $65-$100. I submit this is a good value at its price point.

I purchased my CTK-496 new, and it included a stand and a power supply. It did not include midi to USB cables, which cost me a whopping $4.50 to purchase here on Amazon. It did not include a sustain pedal, but has a jack to connect one. I neither wanted, nor needed a sustain pedal for my purposes. If you are a piano player you probably want one. They cost about $15-$20. If you played organ or synthesizers or other keyboards, you probably don't care and don't want one.

I've had my CTK-496 several years, and it has performed well for the purposes it was designed for. No issues with quality or reliability to report.

Pros

-------

Inexpensive

Many tones

Very portable due to battery power, light weight, and small size.

Midi connections worked well with a $5 Midi to USB cable to compose directly into music software, running on a Vista 64 bit PC.

Great for noodling on a keyboard

Includes 1/4" output jack enabling output to an amp if desired.

Included Single-X-stand similar to what sells for $20 on various musical supply sites.

Cons

--------

If you are used to playing an 88 key piano, this isn't an 88 key piano.

The 61 keys define the range of notes you can enter in notation via midi

Non-weighted keys are ok for organ players, probably not for piano players. But, you will not find a decent weighted key instrument under $400-$500. So again, at the price point, its great.

In the end, this is a toy for playing around, not a stage instrument. On the other hand, if you are ready for the stage, you know you don't get quality instruments for $100. If you have realistic expectations about what this instrument is for, it performs those tasks very well.

This keyboard is fun and sounds pretty decent, however Christmas morning was a little disappointing because we had to run out and get more batteries, since we were one battery short. Also, the adapter power suppy was not included and is just about necessary since the keyboard zaps battery power in about 4 hours. Now I can't find the adapter any where. Big bummer.

Very nice keyboard for the price. Great for kids, (12 and under). Its a little odd that it doesn't come with a power adapter, and I haven't been able to find his mysterious sustain pedal, but it's a nice keyboard anyway.

This is the best value in a pro tools interface software package . Don't worry about having protools 10or 11 , pro tools mp version 9'has everything you need for a home project song writers studio . Grat quality sound , a ton of plug ins and loops , offers a lot more than any pro tools express package . I've had this for a year now and unless you're running a studio pro tools mp has all the functionality to create great recordings , mixes and masters . I upgraded to 10/11 and for my needs it wasn't really necessary . This is all you need !!! Much better than the new m audio interfaces (which avid has sold to Akai by the way ) .

I've had at least four different interfaces in my time and this by far has been the best. The set up was easier than anything I've used before. It came with pro tools MP9 and I expected that to already be synced up well, what I wasn't expecting was that it would be so easy to set up and get rolling with Sonar 8.5 and SonarX1. I've seen people complain about it looking scratched when it arrives, there is a protective sheet that is on so tight it doesn't seem like its supposed to peel off, but it does and then you'll get your pretty looking piece of equipment. I love the A-B-C buttons, saved me the expense of having to go get a Mackie big knob. I wish it had more 48v mic pre's instead of only 4 and the two instrument inputs, but still getting 6 inputs in any fashion at this price is great. The latency is fantastically low, with some of my previous interfaces i was always nudging my recorded tracks over a bit. I also love having the two headphone outputs, saved me a few wires getting back to whoever I'm recording. Yes its made of plastic mostly, but it's obviously designed to sit right on your desk so you can plug in and go, not really meant to be your road interface. The mic pre's are okay, they have nice low noise floor and are fine for recording a vocal straight in for most projects. They're nothing to write home about though, I've gotten a much fuller rounder sound out of some cheaper little solid state pre's, but I bought this as an interface, I knew I had better preamps. Overall great piece of gear with some great software to get introduced to Pro Tools

Amazing interface for ProTools. Quick install. It's great to have the added output options because you can quickly switch between multiple sets of monitors and two sets of headphones. As a guitarist, I use Pod Farm from Line 6, and it works great with that as well.

This interface has worked great for me. I know there were some reviews out there that said they had problems with latency, etc., but I have had no problems. I use the output in a variety of ways from headphones (if my wife is sleeping or doesn't want to hear me any more) to a small external speaker, to my full home theater receiver, to my Mustang 2 amp. it all seems to work find...just need a 1/4 to 1/8" adapter.

I have used this most for practicing the various lessons on Garage Band. It is very good for that kind of thing because the computer program puts your guitar through a sort of electronic amp within the program so that when your play comes out, it can sound pretty amazing. although this interface was not really cheap, it was well worth what I paid for it. I use it every day for practice and I would buy it again.

After reading mostly good reviews for this, I ordered it and hoped for the best. I've heard problems with latency or not working altogether. When I got it, I plugged it in, without installing software, into my Windows 7 laptop. It found it immediately. I opened Audacity to try it. No latency issues, easy setup, and good sound.

Pros: I use this with TH2 Overloud on Windows 7 desktop, runs perfect =). Sounds are great, latency free because of asio drivers. Great for someone who can't afford a ridiculous amp. I can confirm it works with TH2 overloud, amplitube, and guitar rig.

Cons: I could never get it to record the guitar input AFTER it had been modified by the amp simulators. At least, not with TH2 paired with any recording software (audacity, reaper, goldwave, haven't tried reason or cubase), at least. I did get it to work with guitar rig, but I like the sounds and options for TH2 better than guitar rig so =/. I really could not get it to record, it was a big hassle.

Even though it seems like I wrote more about the cons, still a really great purchase, especially for a staring guitarist.

5 stars from me. Came on time and everything.

Also, if you are wondenirg like I was, this works with Behringer drivers even though I think this is the "generic" version.

I run this with Garage Band on my Mac. It's a little noisy, but works fine. I didn't have to use the driver disk it came with. This is the cheap knock off of the name brand, but why not save a few bucks. If you're using a different rig or software, I can't comment on how this would work for you. I am not a professional, and only use it to do simple sketches for song ideas, so that will tell you how easily I am impressed by it's quality.

I had been using a friends m-audio input and needed something cheep to put down sketch ideas. Got the device followed the directions. The install EXE said that it installed. I rebooted like the directions state. Then ran Audacity. Device was not found. I went back and started the guitar rig install, it crashed I/O file corruption error. I then tried it three more times to the same effect. It has no links to external drivers or anything so your stuck with whats in the package; and its not worth the fuss!

I thought this was going to be a Pod with built in pedals, but it's missing a lot of key features. It has a lot fewer amp sims, no tube pre sim, fewer effects, no speaker emulation, only 1/4" outputs, and worst of all, no computer connection to enable you to edit parameters and upload them to the unit. The unit is light and compact and sounds decent, but it doesn't seem worth it to me. For only a couple hundred more you can get the POD XT Live or a Pod XT with an extra Footswitch. The difference is well worth the extra cash in my opinion. The Floor Pod can do about 10% of what the regular Pod can.

Buy Line 6 Floor POD Now

I consider the pod a necessity for every musician.

This pedal isn't quite a BOSS, or others more expensive, but it's really incredible for the price. You can jam at home, and even get away with playing live. For the money, you can't beat this deal.

A nice toy to keep any guitarist busy for hours. So many sounds to choose from to find that perfect sound.

Want Line 6 Floor POD Discount?

This is a nice looking board, it does not seem cheap at all. I bought it to replace my pedals for a more ergonomic solution, and Line6 has good products.

However, the sound of the effects is VERY artificial, soon I got tired of it, sold it and went back to my old analog pedals. Hell yeah, analog never dies!

Buy Fom Amazon Now

I got the Line 6 FloorPOD for Christmas just about seven months ago with a Luna electric. For it being my first effects board, I find it very fun to play with. It gives a variety of sounds and has a lot to offer the BEGINNING guitarist.

However, I would not recommend this board for an advanced player. I would lean more toward the Boss pedals or going with single effects pedals. Also, when using the Wah effect, the volume seems to increase on certain channels. Furthermore, when the Volume pedal is engaged and it is taken all the way down to turn volume off, I can still hear my guitar unless I turn the Volume knob of the guitar off.

Overall, I am pleased with my FloorPOD. I can plug it into a sound system direct with no problems. I have also used an acoustic-electric with it on the red LED channel and some reverb and it sounded just as good to me. I used it in a medium sized church of about 200-250 people and had PLENTY of volume and effects in reserve based on the church building and congregation. Overall, a very decent effects board.

There are both good and bad things about these cans like there is for practically every set of headphones out there. First off these headphones are NOT BULKY OR HEAVY and have no idea what the guy below me was thinking. Part of the reason that I like these guys is because they are so lightweight and you can toss them on and off so quickly and easily. They are smaller compared to your average set of cans like the Sony's, or the Technics, Pioneers, etc. They are not as Bassy or punchy as the Sony's but come quite close. The Mids, and Highs to me sound in the same ballpark. To me the first thing to go was the padding in the headband which fell apart rather quickly (about 3 months) which I crazy glued back on and problem solved. Then the headband itself started cracking and although this didnt affect the peformance of the cans themselves, I didnt understand why the material cracked except from normal usage. What I like about these Cans is that it has a stereo/Mono switch which assists in precise mixes ( at least for me anyway) and the fact that they are sooolight and comfortable on the head. I do 4-5 hour sets and hardly notice they are even on at times. They fit so snug on my head compared to the Bulky Sonys or other versions. I personally dont like the way I look DJing with Huge headphones on my head when I take pictures. Stanton actually came out with the newer version 3000s series and I think they pale in comparison. They dont have the mono/stereo switch, they are heavy and bulky like the Sony's and sound exactly the same. The reason they still sell these older 2000s series is because they are popular and sell a lot. I like them for their convenience of being so light and so snug. Besides some things I mention, they dont break as often as the Sony's or pioneer's. Puit it this way, these are Tiesto's trademark headphones which he uses at every single show and I doubt he would use anything but quality. Dont let the price fool you, these are quality headphones!

When I bought these, I was looking for the best cans I could find for less that $200, I tried about 15 different headphones in that price range and these are the ones that I liked best. I usually push them with a presonus hp4 headphone amp (.25mw per channel), with that amp, I can hit 100+db without turning the volume past about 2/10. These things are absolutely brutal if you want them to be. That isn't all they are though, these things sound incredible no matter what volume they are at, they are crisp, clean, and transparent on the entire audible range. I listen to a lot of different music, and hip hop, jazz, classical, classic rock, indie, metal and anything else I have played through them all sound excellent, if you have a decent eq, you can make them sound however you want them too. I have also used these for mixing some home recordings, which they are great at because of their flat freq. response curve.

I gave 4 for construction because they do feel a little bit flimsy, but I have had mine for over 2 years and they still look pretty much brand new. 4 for ease of use because they are pretty bulky and a little bit uncomfortable after a couple hours (uncomfortable to wear, not to listen to), and the large 1/4" jack is less than ideal if you are going to be using these with a portable device.

For about $90, these sound very nearly as good as my Paradigm monitor 9 loud speakers, which cost about $500 a piece, how can you say no to that?

Want Stanton DJ Pro 2000S Swivel Cup Headphones with Carry Bag Discount?

I have owned a pair of these for about 18 months and I find them to be a great value. I bought them for their great sound, but I soon discovered that they offer about 20 dB of sound attenuation, so I use them on airplanes, and they are great. I haven't had any durability problems, and I have brought them to Europe twice and across the US several times with no problems.

I think they are fairly light for their size. They do get a bit uncomfortable after several hours on a long flight, but i think any over the ear headphone would for me.

I have only two complaints, both minor. First of all. the headphone plug is a bit large; I would have designed it differently. This may seem minor, but in an airplane seat it does get in the way, and I worry about bending it if I move. Secondly, I wish it came with a padded case for travel, though I have found they just fit into an old CD player case I already had. If it weren't for these two things, I would give this five stars.

I purchased this to extend a set of headphones I use while working out. I have a set of headphones I like very much but recently switched from using an armband for my MP3 player to keeping it in the pocket of my shorts. The problem was the cord on my headphones is too short to reach. Instead of buying new headphones all together I purchased this extension. During the first use I noticed that even after seeing my MP3 player's volume to the max setting the volume coming from my MP3 player was only about 1/3 or 1/2 as loud as normal. I removed the extension cable and plugged my headphones directly into my MP3 player and the volume returned to its normal levels.

This could just be a problem with either my player or headphones, which are Philips ActionFit, but I would recommend steering clear of this extension just in case.

I've owned a Shure psm 400 system. There isn't much of a comparison, however, I am pleasantly surprised. The Bodypack is sturdy enough. The transmitter is a bit cheap looking, (but cmon.... this is a cheap system.) I wasn't expecting much. I purchased 2 systems for our church because I wanted to see if the frequencies interfered with each other, but they didn't so, I'll buy probably 2 more. It did take me 5 minutes to tweak the frequency to get it where i wanted it. Would not recommend for road/stadium gigging, but for small setting and a small budget, it will do fine.

Overall a decent in ear for the price. I was actually surprised about the sound quality. For being a budget unit, it has good sound. As far as durrability, I haven't had it that long, so only time will tell. As was stated before, keep your input signal low. They will overload and distort easily. We do get some cutting out when 3 of the packs are connected. I suspect that it may be from too hot of an input signal or batteries getting low. I will have to do more research. Bottom line, for the price, they do pretty well for small gigs.

Some reviewers are really giving this item a negative review. While i see their point i don't think the these thoughts should be applied to every case and usage.

Does it work? YES.

Does it work well? That depends on what & HOW you are using the product. It works well when the volume going in to the transmitter is not too high -use the gain on the receiver to bring the volume up. Also, don't put thru a lot of bass it will distort. This is my experience from using it in a live performance. Once you have adjusted these above items, it does work well for click track and general monitoring.

Does it work as well as a $500 IEM system: NO come on, really?

Does it have interference? YES and NO depends if you have the transmitter beside an appliance or amp that gives off interference!

The bottom line: You get what you pay for...in this instance, you get a little more than what you paid for..but my advice would be to keep your expectations in check..it DOES work but it's not perfect. It is great for watching movies when the kids are asleep as well :)

Monitors distort badly, will try new and better headgear with system. Unfortunately I don't have full live PA set up at all times to try and test different components. But, I'm thinking this is a very poor quality product and you only get what you pay for. Lesson learned.

A fully-analog oscillator with 8 step sequencer, LFO, MS20 filter, in/out sync (and an iphone app to sync to midi), quarter inch out, built-in speaker, ribbon controlled keyboard with full octave range. Oh Monotribe where have you been all my life? Been playing with this thing for a week and it's AWESOME. Creates nasty sub bass, pulsating analog basslines, nasty 303 sounding acid. Syncs with Maschine via an iPhone app and I am recording sequences that are synced and it sounds wicked. You can mod the heck out of these things as well. Voids your warranty but the circuit board inside actually has notes on the board for places to solder and add modulators. It was built to tweak. I haven't opened mine up perfectly satisfied with the sounds it's making. Not for everyone.. but lovers of techno, dubstep, acid house and the like will geek for the sound. I love it.

Buy Korg Monotribe Analogue Ribbon Synthesizer Now

The Monotribe is an awesome instrument. It's got a huge palette of synth sounds, including a bunch of upgrades from the already fantastic Monotron: multiple wave shapes, multiple LFO wave shapes, combination pitch and filter, key lock mode, etc. This is my first drum sequencer and I am completely enamored with it. It's a little difficult to use well (it's a complex device), but understanding the device will lead to great results.

The only downside that I've come across is that the drum sounds aren't variable at all. The high hat is a little weak, and the analogue snare sound doesn't sound great to a lot of people. There's also some weirdness with the synth in play mode, but I think this is due to an incomplete understanding of the gate and/or flux functions on my part.

Highly recommend it for anyone who wants to start playing with a drum sequencer, anyone who loved the Monotron but wanted more, or synthophiles looking to get relatively cheap analogue gear.

I have had this for two weeks now, its fun and incredibly versatile. The filters and LFO are very impressive, the range of sounds is incredible. Trigger it with an iPhone, old drum machine or spend $50 more and get a midi kit. No soldering, just open the case and plug it in to the board, there are other mods but those take more electronics knowledge. Very impressed by Korg for releasing this. My only gripe are the drum sounds, very thin sounding yet still a great tool in building sequences or accenting another synced drum machine. I hope to see other modules like this, perhaps a better drum machine?

These will be collectors items one day and will not lose their value, awesome sound, well built and great features apart from the foolish oversight to omit a MIDI input, you can however add one yourself via Amazing Machines MIDI add on and also they should have included a power supply, you can buy one of these afterwards as well, maybe both of these things missing keep the price down but they did push it up higher for me to the $300 range what I have now however is an incredible little synth that produces amazing sound REAL ANALOG thanks Korg.

I love this machine.a real analog synthesizer with very basic drums.u must use creativity from avoiding getting bored with the machine.no midi unless u go inside the machine.but over all a great real analog from the old school plus korg just released a schematics blueprint of more drums that u can google.this is a very live hands on synth so now I can make those dark side of moon type sounds and zone out to real analog flavor and a real inexpensive synth

Purchased as a gift, this keyboard requires six AA batteries and the AC adapter must be purchased seperately which is unheard of. It is very light weight and with a one year old running around the house, I question its durability. It is an excellent keyboard just don't forget the AC ADAPTOR!!!

I have wanted a Casio keyboard since childhood. I purchased one yesterday and had to go to Radio Shack for the adapter. The sales girl spent over an hour trying different adapters, nothing in the store worked on the Casio CTK 700. I ended up buying batteries. It should really come with an adapter since it is so difficult to find the correct one.

Great for our 5 yr old who's learning to play, but seriously, where do you get an apaptor for it? I have a bag of like 20 different adaptors from old stuff and none of those work; when you look online, none of the adaptors say they work with CTK-700 so I don't want to buy it and have that also not work. We just keep buying batteries. It's a total waste of money. So unless you own a battery store, I wouldn't buy this one but instead go find another that comes with an adaptor.

For the price, this isn't a bad keyboard. It's very light-weight. Thankfully, mine came with an adapter, which appears to have most reviewers miffed. Where my issue is, is that there is no velocity sensitivity, meaning no matter how hard you press the keys, you always get the same volume. I'll also have to purchase a damper pedal separately to compensate for this (a bit ;) ).

I bought this keyboard from target and it came with a cord and music stand. For anyone who is having a hard time finding a power cord for any keyboard, I would suggest '' they can pretty much find a match for any keyboard and they deliver very quickly. Just find the product number on your keyboard and they'll do the rest.

I was skeptical about the quality I would experience with this very modestly priced wireless headset. I plugged it into a portable PA system and made a presentation to a group of about 30 people. Worked perfectly with no glitches. Didn't use the lapel mike yet.

Compared to the professional models that cost $300+ this is a superb bargain.

If you just need something to get your point across, it's perfect. Seemed to have a slight delay in the audio but it posed no problem at all.

My wife did a presentation with it and I could hear her quite well at some distance away. The headset is comfortable and light.

I read the very positive feedback left by other people, so I decided to give this inexpensive option a try, despite the EXTREMELY low price tag... Well, I certainly got what I paid for!

The batteries provided arrived DOA, so I had to find new ones to try this unit out. Once I got it going, it was very noisy and had a lot of static and interference. The second time I tried to use it, it just wouldn't work at all.

Both the headset and the receiver were quite flimsy in design and in quality of materials used. The picture on this product description does not show the rather long, thin, twisted piece of wire that protrudes from the receiver. The battery covers snapped open and closed with difficulty, and you can just feel that it's cheap plastic that will break soon. Even the microphone on the headset was difficult to raise and lower, and the plastic felt very thin and light, as though it would snap with frequent use. You just have to hold everything in your hands to understand fully what I mean, and I do NOT recommend buying it to find out.

The good news is that Amazon provided a very speedy and painless refund.

This is a great little headset for the price. The only thing is that they can cut out really easily. I use my everyday at school to save from starining my voice. I can tell a difference the days that I don't use it. I justhope that they can find a way to imrove it, so it doesn't drop out suddenly.

The storage case tore and was not compact, so it is gone, but the product is quite nice. I tried it out for voice recognition typing, and it seems to work up to around 20', around corners inside my house, and clearer, most of the time, than a direct connection. It amplifies the microphone, and the sound is good. For the price, it is remarkable.

I have noticed that, for hours, the voice recognition seems excellent, virtually without errors. Then, although the signal still seems strong and the batteries are good, I start seeing nonsense words. I have not investigated further, but removing the wireless link at that point and making a direct connection resolves the problem. I look forward to using this product for sound recording and investigating possible variations in quality, but what I have seen so far makes me call it a nice, wireless solution for moderate distances, and for a fairly significant length of time. With any device, important work should have suitable backup measures in place.

Had to write because first headset did not work. A new one was sent but is blows the batties in the remote when used with amp. It will not work more then about 3 or 4 minutes.

I had to give up my acoustic drum set when I moved to a new apartment because the neighbors never would have stood for the noise. This electric drum kit has been a life saver though. I'm really happy with all of the features it has and now I get to stay on top of my drumming practice without worrying about bothering anyone with noise. The pads are all really responsive too. Very happy with this overall.

First of all I have to start with the price. I paid $202 on cyber monday with free shipping. i have been shopping for electronic drums for a year and a half. i was looking for a price point between $400-$500. from what my research showed i should not expect much for that cost. when i saw this pop up i jumped on it because it had all three toms, two cymbals, a high hat with foot control, snare and kick pedal. most set in this range are not that complete.

when the set arrived at my door it was one large box but was another box in a box. it took 2 1/2 hour to assemble. the instruction were good but putting this thing together was torture.

the first thing i noticed was the really good sample on some of the kits. the first fault i have is there is no customization to set your own kit up. there are only 11 kits available but i have yet to not be able to play any song i choose. you can play your mp3 thru this and jam along. i have play bob marley, led zepplin, guns and rose, van halen, hall and oats, jimmy eat world and my chemical romance with no problem. it has a recorder on it but the playback sucks and staggers the looping. it maxes out with a 2 gig card. i have never used the metronome. the cymbals have dual control so as to be touch sensitive for subtle add ins or loud crashes. you can even do the grab muting. the big complaint in these reviews is the kick will double strike but i have found it is all in the foot placement. it has midi in and out but i currently do not use it. one complaint was wires all over the place but mine came with 2 velcro straps. another complaint was no rim shot, which is only semi true. one kit has a rim shot but you can not get it on demand. another knock on these is the high hat is either opened or closed, NOT TRUE. i can get that cool strike mute jazz sound. the instruction are pathetic and show you almost nothing about the operation of the unit. i got a better set online at pyle but they were only marginally better. the sound module has the ability to micro tune but i couldn't begin to tell you how from the directions. you can unplug the high hat and plug it into the second kick slot on the module. the high hat pedal still give you the muting sounds while you play a double kick. that is something i have never read in these reviews.

as for being a cheap set that you will beat up in a couple of months i have been playing mine two hour a day since dec/12 and it only shows light nylon stick marks on the dark black heads. i have actually been trying to be rough on it but it stands up well, so far. it has no external speakers so you need headphones. it is also not a silent kit as you can hear the rubber and plastic when struck but not with the headphones on. so guys, don't set this up in the bedroom. the people downstairs can not hear it so its all good for me.

the first set amazon sent would cut out while i was playing. i contacted amazon and they had a replacement at my door in two days. they sent UPS to my door to pick the old set up two days after that. i replaced the module, pads, cymbals, pedals and wires in about 30 minutes. i did notice i replaced a set made in china with one made in taiwan. the pads and cymbals felt heavier and more durable on the replacement. i haven't had any trouble since.

i do not work for pyle nor do i have any vested interest in whether you buy this set or not. i have played both the roland and yamaha set in the $400-$500 range and i personally think this far out performs them, especially in sound samples. i would recommend this set for anyone who want a decent jam set. i would not be afraid to use this in a small venue like a bar or school auditorium either, if you have a good amp. good shopping folks!!!!

My son who is a twelve year old beginner at the drums wanted a set for his birthday. The electronic set, I thought would be a good start, so i could try to control his volume. happy i went this route. He is able to practice without bothering the rest of the family, and the ability to pack the kit away easily when needed is fantastic. Cost much less than a traditional set of drums, and a nice way to see if he is going to stick to it. He's had alot of fun with it, and is improving. I'm sure he will continue to enjoy this kit. Thanks Pyle!

The word "Pro" in the description of this drum set is a real stretch. It is just above a toy in quality. I know it didn't cost much @ $280.00 on Amazon.com but with all 5 star reviews I was hoping for much more. Once again I fell for the highly rated reviews. All pads are identical. Hi-hat is the same pad as toms and snare. You can count on miss and double hits on the base and hi-hat pedals. Hi-hat is either opened or closed. Cymbals function erratically. Wires are all over the place so I gathered and taped to the frame. I did have a problem with box contents(not all there)and Amazon immediately credited me for the discrepancy. It took a good couple of hours to assemble. Instructions were woefully inadequate. I would have returned it but would have been virtually impossible to repackage without at least another 2 or 3 hour effort. Unless you are buying a kids first drum set ... pass on these drums. I will look much closer before I ever purchase another Pyle product.
