No joke though, this cable is impressive. I don't know if the extreme thickness is really necessary for audio quality, but separating the left and right channels into separate coax (or maybe twisted?) lines should reduce crosstalk. Anyway, this is beefy, similar build quality to pro XLR mic cables, assuming the 3.5mm jack can stand the abuse, this'd be a good option for stage/performance use where 3.5mm jacks are needed (DJ's mixing on their laptops, etc).

Also bulky, but that's how things get shielded. Much better than the smaller-diameter cables offered elsewhere, minimal distortion/interference. I bought this for my bedrooms 9.3 sound system to plug my computer into my main switch to then 3 different sources. i think its incredible, the plugs are gold coated and the two wires together measure about 1 inch which is huge, the connectors are very well built, and there is no hum buzz of anything what so ever. i am in awe for the price, and over a long run i hear no signal loss at all. its incredible!If you need a skinny little cable, this isn't for you. The diameter of the leads is amazing. The insulation material feels like genuine rubber. Connectors are gold plated and really rugged. This is pro quality. I bought this same item from monoprice.com. Just one word, WOW! These cables are very high quality. The two positive and negative line are separately insulated, and they're a little under a quarter inch thick each. Tips are gold-plated and the sound quality is... pretty good from what I know. (Don't really know what good sound quality is).
